I worried that the Ivory Sky Media crew and my photographer's crew would clash or get into each others' ways but they seemed to work great side-by-side. We really liked the crew who shot our wedding. I could tell they were having a good time too. They were so funny but professional at the same time--they helped to keep everyone at ease. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen were raving about how awesome they were! The wedding highlight video was by far my favorite part of the whole package. Such a great way summarize the magic of the whole experience. The gimball features and the aerial shots they got of the Rose Garden in San Jose and the St. Joseph's Cathedral were breathtaking. They truly captured every touching moment, and even the silly moments that we didn't realize got caught on camera! Our friends and family loved watching the highlight video. Right when I got into contact with Allen, I felt so comfortable working with him. He was friendly, and quick to reply with our messages. Their prices and services were straight forward, nothing complicated, and very reasonably priced! Allen even gave me a discount (Facebook code). For our wedding, we had 3 videographers: Allen, Jennifer, and Frank. They were shooting all different kinds of angles, they even had a drone. How awesome!! The first time I met them, they were so friendly. Especially Allen, he was so genuinely kind-hearted, and even while we were getting ready, they were all so patient and nice with everyone. However, traffic held them back about an hour, but it was OK since we were kind of running behind schedule. Because of this, Allen was kind enough to refund me the extra 1 hour I paid for. How nice of him! The wedding video came in the mail as 2 BluRay discs, with customized cases. The entire video was amazing!! Previously, the editor had sent us a questionnaire that provided them an idea of our favorite songs and what style we wanted. All the songs they chose were so perfect!! The shots they took were beautiful, the drone shots were amazing! Then the highlight video was done and even that was also so perfect! Literally chose the perfect songs, songs we didn't even know much people liked or knew about, but these songs were all about us. It represented us so well as a couple. Sam shot both our engagement pictures and wedding day. If you've worked with good photographers, you'll know GOOD editing takes time. Also, A LOT of shots will be taken to capture those special moments and that also requires time. So with that in mind, know that an excellent product will take time and just accept it upon booking. Engagement shoot: I had 3 outfit changes! We started in Downtown Hollister to get a more dressed up look and then headed over to Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area to have a more fun vibe with dirt bikes. Sam was super fun to work with. He makes you feel comfortable! Wedding Day: Ah I love my pictures and so do my family, friends, etc. I am constantly getting compliments on my wedding photography. He doesn't follow a "list of pictures" because he's more about documenting moments. He knows how to capture emotions and the feeling of your one and only special day, and this is exactly why I always wanted him to photograph my wedding. I wanted my wedding documented. My wife and I had the joy of working with Micaela and her partner, Chris, for our marriage ceremony in August 2023 at the Marin Civic Center. From our first online inquiry, we had an exploratory call with Micaela the same morning. She asked insightful questions and listened attentively, then Emailed us a draft schedule/flow for our photoshoot day. We sought private photos as a couple, followed by photos of our wedding ceremony. I explained that in the hour leading up to the ceremony, I needed to step away to arrange chairs and coordinate with my officiant. My wife, meanwhile, wanted a final photo of just our wedding cake at the reception (at a nearby restaurant). Micaela took everything in stride, reassuring me that every wish we had could come true without ever changing our budget. On the day of the shoot, my wife and I were running a few minutes late. Micaela helped put us at ease, like a long-time friend. Chris brought along a rolling cart to free our hands of belongings. Micaela found beautiful angles, highlighting us against the breathtaking architecture of the Civic Center. As the afternoon progressed and the sun shifted in the sky, she at times led us back to prior spots to catch follow up shots with the evolving light. In the hour between our private shoot and our ceremony, she and Chris captured candids of our family members as they trickled in. Micaela also coordinated with my officiant to help us determine the most photogenic placement of the chairs, relative to the backdrop. After the ceremony, Micaela stayed behind with us to capture countless additional family portraits. At the restaurant, they were only required to photograph our cake, yet they stayed longer and captured extra photos of the start of our reception dinner. Micaela's final work product was over 500 professionally edited photos and over 60 film captures, the latter providing a very unique "retro" look. We were so impressed with her warmth, her communicativeness, her technical and artistic proficiency, and her generosity to give us more than was required. If it were possible I would give no stars to this business…read more We paid $2,250 which was for coverage of our daughter's wedding and having the pictures sent to us online. One quarter of this agreement was not delivered. The owner of the business had one of his staff, Mackenzie, take the pictures. Our daughter wanted some special shots on the stairs outside and Mackenzie took the bride and groom out in the middle of the reception because the "light was right". She spent about forty-five minutes to an hour taking these pictures which took our daughter away from a very expensive reception and her guests. After she returned my other daughter wanted some pictures with her two sons. All of these pictures have disappeared. They obviously were not backed up. The wedding was June 28. On July 19 our daughter called the photographer, Dave. He said he would talk to Mackenzie and find out what was going on. On July 23 Linda called him again and he said it was "weird" that she was not getting back to him, "there must be a technical issue". On August 2 our daughter called Mackenzie. She said he never reached out to her. I have called him three times and left messages. He does not answer the phone when I call or return my calls. There was an email form on his website which I filled out and sent also with no response. I have filed complaints against him with the BBB and The Dept. of Consumer affairs. He does not respond to anything. If your pictures are important to you I strongly suggest you use someone else.
