I hired Joel to photograph my son's wedding reception. I had explained ahead of time that the event…read morewas in a banquet room with low lighting and lots of bright colors, and that it was important to me that he capture photos of our family as well as all the guests. In that respect, Joel did a very good job. He photographed the newlyweds, the guests, and the performances thoroughly, and he worked quietly and unobtrusively throughout the evening. However, there were very few pictures of our family. I wished he had focused on getting more family pictures. The reason I am giving a 4-star review rather than 5 is due to a lack of clarity around post-processing. It was not communicated beforehand that the photos would be largely unedited. While the lighting was adjusted, many images ended up overexposed, and there were several distracting background elements--such as podiums, backpacks, and visible wires--that I had expected would be edited out. When I asked about this, I was told that additional editing would cost extra. There was also a lot of emphasis on a complimentary drone photo of the entire party, which unfortunately was not feasible since the event was indoors. I wish the focus had instead been on clearly explaining what level of editing was included and taking more family pictures. Overall, if you are looking for someone to efficiently cover an event and capture everyone present, Joel does a solid job. If you want more detailed editing or a specific finished look, I would strongly recommend clarifying those expectations in advance. I read many Yelp reviews before hiring him and did not see this mentioned, so I felt it was important to share.

What a great experience it was working with Sara and her assistant at our wedding in August 2008. I am usually shy about having photos taken, but Sara made us feel so comfortable and at ease for our engagement photos and on our big day. She really took time to get to know us as a couple. I absolutely loved her film strip idea for our "save the date" card! At the wedding she was extremely professional, relaxed, and blended in well. You really forget she is there taking photos of you! As soon as we were back from our honeymoon, we received a disc of 400+ photos to choose from. The photos are so authentic and they also have this vintage, artistic quality. At the end of the first meeting they gave us some homework, to describe them what our dream day to be like. Our second meeting was about 1 month before the wedding and we went over the agenda for our big day. The day of the wedding we had one of the videographers getting video of the groom & bride at all time and the other videographer getting all the details from the wedding in addition to some epic drone footage. Joel also took it upon himself to keep us on schedule during the day which definitely was one less thing to worry about. Once the day was over they were able to quickly post a teaser and highlight video that kept us craving to see the full documentary that we had. After a couple adjustments we finally receive our full documentary and its was absolutely perfect. We loved that she gave us both edited highlight photos as well as the full gallery, so we could go back through everything and find all the candid moments we might have missed the first time around. The couple portraits were so dreamy, and we loved all the captured moments of our guests throughout the evening. It really let us relive the day in a full way. Her turnaround time was also incredible. We started getting previews within a few days, and had the full gallery in under two weeks! After looking at many portfolios online, we reached out to Kushboo and had a conversation. She answered all our questions, provided input on the outfits that my daughter had chosen, and suggested locations based on my daughter's wishes. She even visited the locations and took a video for us a couple days before to make sure that the current conditions of the location matched our expectations. She was prompt and made my daughter feel at ease. She had set poses that she wanted my daughter to do, but also allowed time for playful moments.
