Hi, We had a lift installed by Stairlift 3 weeks ago. I researched for the best price - it wasn't even close. We opted to rent for a variety of reasons and wanted it quickly. Karen was great to deal with and their price was literally half of what we could find with any other vendor. They came the day they told us they would. They called to let us know they would be a bit late (40 minutes), which never happens. The guys (who installed the system) were SUPER nice and it was hectic as we had a bunch of other things going on that day. They were in and out in 3 hours. The lift has made a huge difference in her life as she can sleep in her bed again, and was thrilled with the ease of use. They did what they said they would do without any fuss, were a pleasure to deal with before, during and after installation. I can't say enough about them. We already gave their info to my parent's friends who need one. Finally, when I was looking I saw a one star review on Yelp and read it in detail and then read the other nine 5 star reviews. My take is that the 1 star review is one of two things: 1) Competitor 2) Someone who misunderstood what they were looking for and didn't do their research. I would definitely recommend Karen and the folks at Stairlift Headquarters. We were debating getting a ramp or a chair lift. Karen patiently answered our many questions via e-mail and phone. She guided us along until we made the decision that was best for my partner, the person in the wheelchair. The installation was done quickly and efficiently. The installation techs even called me on the way to check to see if it was okay to arrive a little bit early! They paid a lot of attention to detail and safety. I saw their very impressive web site when researching stairlift companies .After a pleasant conversation with a Karen I awaited her estimate .When one peruses this company's web site you are struck with their promises ,Best price GUARANTEED ,we will save you hundreds if not thousands over other companies .I say hogwash Stairlift Headquarters not only didn't save me a 1 penny, their estimate came in over $1300 on one stairlift a Sterling 950+ and $500 on the 950.After confronting Karen about that ,she stuttered totally bewildered .I now do not believe one word on their web site .When a company guarantees the lowest price and turns out it's the highest that I was quoted among 5 sellers ,how can you trust their service claims .Karen got in a phony argument with me accusing me of insinuating that they were taking advantage of seniors that didn't have all their faculties .I was not insinuating that but questioning whether all seniors had the time to seek out a fair price .She hung up on me telling me not to ever call her again ,why I would ever call this overpriced company escapes me ,they promise so much but deliver nothing .Ohh but what a great web site ,but what a ripp off .BTW what does guaranteed lowest price mean ,I would think they would try to match the price ,that's not in their DNA ,stay clear of these folks you wont be sorry.. 11/20/2013 I couldn't help following up on my bad experience .After extensive research I opted to buy a Bruno Elite for $2600 from Mobility & More .Not only was this stairlift a solid performer ,a lot cheaper than all the other companies I called .These people were very professional ,they treated me as a valued customer and delivered what they promised. I received the owners response to my review .First let me say my description of what I needed was simply a straight run from basement to kitchen ,12 steps in all ,no hinges ,just your ordinary installation .I got estimates from 12 different vendors and was assured that their prices were firm since this was an easy installation .When I called Karen about this outrageous estimate all I got was astonishment ,no offer to match those prices .The worst price I got other than Stairlift Headquarters was hundreds less than Karen's quote .So when someone claims they have the lowest prices GUARANTEED ,why didn't she ask me to show her my written offer and match or beat it .I'm sure these installers pretty much pay the same for these stairlifts .It's maybe too bad I didn't talk to the owner because Karen took it personal ,and you don't tell a customer never to call you again .Karen needs retraining ,as someone in sales that was terrible .I have taken a bad situation and turned it around many times through legitimate effort ,but never by telling the customer never to call again .She didn't need to tell me that ,I wasn't going further .If Karen had had any sense she would have asked me for a copy of the best bid and gone to her boss ,that would have been a winning strategy and guess what she might have had a sale .So to go back to what I originally said you have a fantastic web site,the highest prices, but poor sales. Stairlift Headquarters has been amazing! We met Shawn about 14 years ago when my mother broke her hip. The stairlift installation was tricky with a curved staircase, but the measurements were accurate, and the lift has given my mother continued independence. That said, we've been long time customers and can attest to the incredible service that we have received. Shawn has gone above and beyond, making sure he comes whenever a service call has been made, no matter the time or the weather. And he has always resolved our problem! Stairlift Headquarters is one of the finest companies I have ever done business with. I rented a stairlift from them. there are not many companies that will rent, so right away this was great. They came to measure on a moment's notice, installed the next day. I only wish I could remember all their names. Karen Gookin, the measuring guy and the installers are all bright, professional, efficient, flexible and polite. The installation was done quickly and cleanly. Wires were tucked out of the way, a guard placed over the electrical plug. Their instructions to me were clear, not that there is anything complicated about using a stairlift. I contacted StairLift Headquarters in early January as I was having foot surgery the end of the Month and needed to make arrangements for a chair lift to my accessory apartment in my home. I was most interested in the rental verses buying. After much research I decided to give them a call. It was rather last minute but they went out of their way to contact me back right away. Karen from the office contacted me via e-mail. The staircase and entry was rather complex for this type of set up but after several e-mail exchanges with some photos they sent out a tech to take some measurements. As it turns out they had a way to install the lift. They gave me a quote on the spot. The quote was very clear and I had a choice to rent with option to purchase. Their terms were very flexible and I was quite happy with them. I contacted them the next day to say I wanted to have the chair installed, but my surgery was coming up within a week. Karen was able to schedule the installation of the chair 2 days prior to my surgery. The installer was on time, did an excellent job on the installation and explained to me how to operate the chair and answered all of my questions. I had such peace of mind knowing the chair was available when I came home from surgery. I'm now 5 weeks out from surgery and just had the chair removed. The tech who came out was every bit as efficient and professional as the installer. I could not have asked for a better experience all the way around. Karen in the office went above and beyond to help me out. Everyone I dealt with was professional & pleasant. Their attention to detail and customer service was 1st class.
