I can choose either location depending on my schedule. My review is for both locations. I have had poor vision most of my life and dry eyes for the last decade or so. Outside of one eye doctor I saw in another State (Dr. Fitzgerald at Advanced Vision Care) I have had really bad experiences with eye and vision care. Most places offer long wait times, care that seems rushed, very traditional only methods of treatment that land at you missing out on key ways to improve your eye health (like taking vegan Omega 3 EPA and DHA to help with dry eyes) and doctors who are not on top of all of the new options out there for their patients. Dr. Lazar is none of those things. She is always on time and never rushes. She always offers new ideas on treatments like Omega 3 that has made a massive difference in my eye and skin health. Dr. Lazar is beyond skilled in eye care and is also very lovely. Without question she is my partner in my eye and vision care. Recently I bought lenses at the Darien location and worked with Suzy Ademoski. She too was just lovely. I walked out with lenses that were much thinner that my old ones and even block out much more of the sun while still being clear glass. I can actually drive with them in the Summer and not need sunglasses. Susy also offered me every discount that she could to make the purchase easier on my wallet. I highly recommend both locations for trusted eye care.

The staff is subpar, mostly because it is quite evident patients are just walking bodies in the halls where they stand around. They are not friendly and they clearly don't care. Patients might as well be rolling robots. Expect long wait times for appointments which would really not be THAT bad except, unlike every other Dr's office, they do not offer Wifi so at least you can get something done waiting all that time.

Unfortunately, my experience with the billing office has been the exact opposite. On March 5, 2026--more than a year after my October and December 2024 surgeries--I received a voicemail saying, "I think we have an old address. We tried to send you a bill and the PO returned it." I returned the call immediately, provided my current address, and asked for an account statement showing exactly what I owed and why. Instead, I received a confusing printout that did not answer my questions. I never received a proper bill at my updated address. When I later called to follow up, the first employee told me only that my account was "closed" and that I would have to pay to have it reopened. He could not explain what that meant or answer basic questions, so he transferred me to the office manager. After a lengthy hold, Stacey repeatedly interrupted me as I tried to explain the situation, became increasingly hostile, raised her voice, and ultimately hung up on me. The only useful information I received was that the account had already been turned over to collections. What is so frustrating is that I was trying to get clarify and pay the bill. As soon as I learned there was an outstanding balance, I called back, updated my address, and asked for documentation explaining the charges. Rather than receiving a clear bill and an opportunity to resolve the matter, I learned only weeks later that it had been sent to collections. I paid it today and will never return, nor will my partner.

If anyone ever tells you that Dr. Thimons is the doctor to see for your eye issues, don't play…read morearound. This is by far the most caring Doctor I've ever met. My wife had starting having issues with dry eye, and eye infections. At one point she had a scratch on her eye, that again, got infected, and was not only painful, but it was interfering with her vision. The infection was not responding to normal treatment, and she is allergic to the most commonly used medication for eye infections. Our eye doctor recommended we see Dr. Thimons, who's office is on the other end of the state from us. 1. Eyes are too important to be cheap about, and 2. We are not opposed to traveling. We met Dr. Thimons and his personality was a instant match. He was able to tell us what was going on with the eye, and what he wanted to do in language we could easily understand and at no time did we ever feel he was talking down to us, nor did it even feel like he was dumbing it down. He was matter of fact, direct and had a very comforting manner about him. Things didn't go too well, and her vision was deteriating, and even though we were all but panicking, Dr. Thimons remained calm, and mentioned options to us, and consulted with another doctor, Dr. Stein, and came up with a potential solution. At one point, Dr. Stein stitched a membrain into my wife's eyeball, and sealed her eyelid, as the eye movement, even with a patch was irritating the scratch, preventing it from healing. During the treatments, the doctors had been mentioning her cataracts, but predicted 5 years or so before they would need attention (surgery). The eye finally healed, and the infection was gone. Nothing to do now but follow-up appointments every 6 months with Dr. Thimons. After 3 or 4 such appointments, my wife mentioned that she felt it was getting more difficult seeing, and it was like looking through sheer curtains. Dr. Thimons showed me what it was that was goihttp://www.williamhung.netng on, and her cornea was pretty much gray. The eye that had the ulcer, scratch and infection now had scar tissue right in her field of vision. It was decided that she needed to have the cataract surgery sooner, rather then later. At this point, her left eyes vision was so bad that she could not make out the large E on the vision chart, basically 20/250, or blind. Dr. Stein did the surgeries, 2 weeks between each eye. After the second surgery, her right eye is at 20/20 with no glasses or contacts, and her left is 20/25, again, no glasses or contacts. Basically, Drs Thimons and Stein saved my wife's eye, and totally restored her vision. She has been wearing glasses or contacts since I met her in 1977. Today, she wears neither, and she is so excited at how well she can see, she gets giddy. The only issue now is, her remembering she doesn't need to put on her glasses when she gets up every morning.

My fiance and I have been going to Progressivision for four years now and we love everyone in the shop. Some of the poor reviews can't even get the names of the staff right so we'll just attribute that to ignorance. Gina and Dania are absolutely wonderful! They bend over backwards to accommodate their customers and I'd definitely classify them as women I'd love to hang out with. Rich is beyond knowledgeable, always friendly and has made sure all my glasses are fitted perfectly! The office was recently redone and has a very modern and chic feel to it. Also, they just celebrated their 30 year anniversary in June, safe to say some things are being done right. Great selection of frames that would make anyone happy. Dr. Nemser is a very nice guy! When you first meet him, he is a bit quiet and some may even feel his bedside manner is off, but let me be the first one to tell you that has definitely improved ten fold. It makes me sad to see numerous poor reviews on yelp and google when our experience has been nothing but wonderful. Let's clear the air on a few things here. 1. They have Saturday hours which is absolutely amazing. 2. Gina and Dania (not Diana) are friendly and outgoing people with amazing personalities. They have both done everything they can to be flexible and beyond helpful. 3. Dr. Nemser is a bit shy when you meet him, but conversation goes a long way people! 4. Rich is knowledgeable, very accommodating and always friendly when we see him. Do yourself a favor and disregard all of the bad reviews here and see for yourself. I'm sure you will have a wonderful experience and be treated just as you treat the stellar staff at Progressivision.

I called Progressive Vision and told them I was under this plan and confirmed they were participants before making my appointment. On the given day I took time from work to go to my appointment. They immediately gave me a form to sign saying there would be a charge. When I inquired about how much they were vague, until pressed they told me $195! This is supposed to be a $0 copay. When I called Blue View I was informed that in situations where a person's exam requires special needs (I do not) the most the provider can charge is a $40 copay. I walked out without getting the exam and found another reputable local business. This provider is gouging consumers. Beware.
