DJ Don is a MUST have if you are looking for a DJ for your event. He puts his heart into his job, and is much more than just a DJ. For my wedding, he truly got to know me as a person, and he got to know what my wedding was going to be like. He was always available to meet, and made sure to check out the spaces he would be working in so there would be no errors. In my case, we had our ceremony at a church off-site, then our guests had a new location for the reception, with which the cocktail hour was on a different floor than the dinner reception/ dance floor. His technology was able to work at all three locations. He even had enough equipment to have the three spaces already set up so the guests were never left without a beat of a song. Don is knowledgeable, dedicated, and a true entertainer. He has every song, in case a random request comes up and he has every avenue for you to create your playlists. Everyone at the party said they were just so impressed with Don. Don also has a photo mirror that was a hit at the party! Don gave us a guest book for guests to take photos and sign the guest book, the guests could also take pictures and keep copies for themselves. Later, Don creates a link for you that you can share with friends and family, as well as download or print. This is such a cool perk to having the photo mirror! It was a hit and the props he had were PRICELESS! Don communicates well, and was simply easy to place all my trust with having him for my wedding day. He really made our wedding so special! We were working on getting cold sparks from Stand & Clap, however after exchanging many emails and a few phone calls confirming details, Don ghosted us. I had sent him emails and texts asking if we were still on and if he could send me a contract and he never responded. We also had our Day Of Coordinator reach out to hm and he never got back to her either. He was completely unprofessional. This was really close to our wedding date so we were not able to find anyone else to do cold sparks on our wedding and had to forgo that. It was pretty disappointing. I had the opportunity of meeting Don at Stan Mansion, we worked together during several weddings and some corporate events and I must say that he is by far, my favorite DJ of all time! First of all, he has got the newest technology and updates + as a DJ, he has his own amazing up lights, he has an awesome mirror photo booth, and that is the also one of the best photo booths I have ever seen + he has the "dancing on clouds" machine, that creates the perfect atmosphere for the First Dance and I think he also has sparkler machines, that are great for the final send off after the wedding is over, or just a great addition for a holiday party or an intense moment. Moreover, Don has projectors and screens, so literally by booking him, you minimize the amount of your vendors, which is great! Secondly, he is absolutely amazing at entertaining, he is up to date with the newest music and he has a great taste of older type of music from the 70s, 80s, 90s - you name it. He is able to keep the party going until late and you have people asking for more after the event is over :) That's exactly what you want from a DJ. Thirdly, he has great personality and is very invested in the communication with his clients and the vendors, I am relieved every time I find out that I'll be working with Don! Don DJ'd our wedding on March 19th in Chicago's West Loop and he was great! He's a passionate guy and very knowledgable about music. Communication with Don was a breeze and he always quickly responded to questions leading up to the wedding. It really helped ease our minds working with someone who's been through the process a hundred times. Don brought up a few things we hadn't thought of like order of processional, introductions and speeches. He walked us through everything from the ceremony up until the last song. Because we had our ceremony and reception at the same venue, it was easy to coordinate microphones for our officiant, string musicians and toasts. The equipment was something we were thankful he could provide as part of his fee. Apart from the logistics, where Don really shines is his ability to work on the fly. He'll read the crowd and figure out which songs get everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. He'll also work with you on last minute changes, like figuring out a song to play for your cake cutting if you didn't pick one. I also appreciated when he improvised and played a song my best man referenced during his speech. It was a nice touch and everyone thought it was planned. One of the best parts of our whole experience was how Don helped us with our first dance song. We had a song we were hoping to use that meant a lot to us but it's tempo was too fast. Using his equipment and audio software, he was able to slow the song down to the perfect speed without warping the audio. It was really impressive and we were able to use the song we wanted for our first dance. It's clear to see Don loves his job and it shows. He has great taste in music and knows how to keep the party going strong. I would highly recommend Don to anyone looking for a professional to DJ their wedding! read more

We used Stand & Clap for our 10/08/11 wedding at the Grove in Glenview. Stand & Clap was a Grove preferred vendor. After meeting with Don we knew he was the right choice. He was super-responsive (would reply to emails within minutes) enthusiastic, creative - basically he was everything we were looking for in a DJ. He was very open to our ideas (he mixed the Darth Vader theme song into my bridal march =) and had great suggestions. For example, our pre-ceremony and cocktail music was contemporary songs played by a strings (Metallica, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, etc.) We loved the way it turned out! Don did a great job keeping the dance floor going with our music choices and guest requests, and did quite a bit of coordinating with our caterer and the venue! He also provided uplighting for us. Dinner was held in an outdoor pavilion and lighting was not the best. Don used his amber lights plus lights offered by the venue, and it looked FANTASTIC! The only glitch (which I consider minor) was at the reception. My husband and I picked out intro songs to play for each bridal party couple, and 4 of 7 were played out of order. However, it was a last minute thing we decided to do - and our intro song was correct! Thanks Don!! read more

Stand and Clap was recommended by a friend, who used them at her wedding (during which I danced all night)! We worked with Don and he was fantastic!! He provided DJ services and lighting for our wedding and made everything super easy. Don met with us in person (at our home), to discuss options and then we made all of our song selections online- the website is super easy to use. He played everything we requested, supplemented with really great songs and took requests/ made adjustments as needed in order to keep the dance floor full all evening! Our guests keep commenting on how much they danced, and how fun it was! We weren't convinced that we needed any lighting in the venue, besides what it already had, but Don visited the venue, provided a suggested lighting layout and didn't make us decide until day of, when we saw everything together. His suggested layout and colors were spot on- it made the venue even more beautiful! I had no idea how big of a difference the lighting would make but it definitely completed everything! Don is a lifesaver! We had issues with Union Station for our wedding with the lighting for the columns. Last minute, union station told us it was not included. We found Don and 3 days before our wedding, we contacted him and he was so nice and willing to help our situation. The next day, he went to check out the site and offered his services. I am so glad I hired Don. He is professional. He knows almost everything about weddings, and if you like he can give you awesome recommendations of what makes a great wedding. Months before the wedding starts, Don sat down with us and spent about two hours with us getting down the details of the wedding. After we selected our songs, he sat down with us again and walked us through what we need to be aware of on the day of the wedding.
