I bought a new couch but the store I bought it from did not offer service to take away the old couch upon delivery. So I sent an urgent message to several junk removal businesses requesting help and Stand Up Guys responded and were able to get someone out within the hour! So fast! I received a few quotes via Yelp with getting some help to junk out the content of a storage unit. In the end, I chose to go with Stand Up Guys after talking to someone on the phone. The person seemed nice and sounded honest (was there such a thing??) Anyway, they were supposed to send two guys with a truck. On Thursday, these guys made me wait too like those movers. I am not a big fan of waiting and I am one who respects people's times and always hope other people would do the same. That day was the 2nd time I was waiting at the lobby of the condo building. I could feel the concierge and manager there felt my pain. The good thing was these guys seemed way more decent than the movers I encountered two days back. The concierge called those movers shady. I did not say that but he did. The bad thing was one of the two guys from Stand Up Guys asked what mode of payment I would be using. I replied credit card? He asked if I Venmo or do Zelle. I don't know. After being scammed by the movers just two days before, the last thing I wanted was to send payment via Venmo or Zelle. And do companies really receive payment via Venmo or Zelle?? I rang up the company and spoke to Alex the manager. Alex told me they did not take Venmo or Zelle but the worker should have an iPad or some app to receive credit card payment. By then I was like I definitely want to make payment over the phone with Alex, which I did. Later that day I asked someone do I have a face that screamed "Scam me!". She said I did. Darn it!! But to people out there, learn the word "Karma". Last night I was told by the new owner of that storage unit which was originally belonged to my friend's uncle that the storage still has two items left behind. I guessed the two workers left out these two items. I texted the manager and told him about the things the workers left behind. Alex was absolutely wonderful and promised he would head over to the storage and pick them up personally today. I just received a text from him and was told the two items were picked up. They had great reviews, and I liked the aesthetic of their website (I love a good website, guys). The website was easy to navigate, clean-looking, and the visual pricing guide was SUPER helpful. It really made all the difference, compared to other service providers I had looked at. Setting up an appointment online couldn't have been easier and took less than 2 minutes. I didn't have to pick up the phone or talk to a single person to set the appointment, which is how I prefer to do appointments. My no obligation, free estimate appointment was scheduled for a Saturday (the day I'm writing this review, actually), with a 2-4PM window. I received a phone call shortly before 2PM from PATRICK, letting me know they were on the way and would arrive in around 20 minutes. Which is exactly what happened. And they found my address with no problems at all, which is hard for most. PATRICK & JON (John? Sorry!) showed up, introduced themselves to myself and my pug and provided me with an estimate for my queen bed set. The pricing was exactly what I was expecting based off of the website's pricing guide. They even took a chair I had been meaning to get rid of for years. The entire service took all of 20 minutes, and that was with having to go up and down three flights of stairs. They were friendly and efficient and I couldn't be happier with their service. Amazing!!! From start to finish the whole experience was two thumbs up, 5 stars and partridge in a pear tree. The booking - easy peasy- The guys showing up on time- getting done in record time- being pleasant and acknowledging my dog when they first showed up- If they could be my movers I would have hired them in a heartbeat. Cost was $550 per load, and that was already discounted. Original Post: They came when they said they would to remove a large pile of construction debris. I believe when we talked they said if it ended up being two loads, the second load would be less than the first. They charged over $500 for two loads and when we asked them to take the old porcelain sink - the second load did not fill the truck, the guy laughed and said "sure, for an extra $30"- Isn't that why we paid $1125? To take the all the junk? There are cheaper and more professional outfits to deal with. read more

These guys ROCK! This was the second time I've had the absolute pleasure of hiring these guys. The first time, all I needed was for them to remove a small love seat, but I had a pretty tight timeline to do because I was having furniture delivered to fit in it's place. The Stand Up Guys were by far the most affordable and responsive. I was just SO pleased with their services, I saved up ALL my junk (well...not ALL - I actually realized just how much junk I really have, and well, it's a process!). So, this time around, I needed my sofa removed, and in order to make the minimum visit charge ($85) worth it, I asked for a couple of additional things as well: yard debris removed (although my pups are small, they're destructive), and about 2x2 square feet of junk (the products of cleaning out a couple of closets - WHY do I keep so much junk!?!). Scheduling: Was a breeze. I scheduled via messages in Angie's List (although I believe you can do it on their website as well). I had actually been asking for information, and they didn't even make me fill out a form. I asked for the time I was interested in, I got a message confirming it, and I was even able to change it for a more convenient time a few days later, all through messaging them. They were super responsive and incredibly easy to schedule with. Service: Fantastic. I really can't say enough good things about Danny and his partner. They called when they were about 30 min away, as well as when they were about 10 mins out (as I had requested, because I had to corral the dogs). They divided and conquered and did each thing I had asked for - super expediently. I even asked them to go back and clear out just a little bit more yard debris I found under a table I left in my yard, and they were happy to do so. Danny and his partner did a fantastic job in just 20 minutes!!! Price: Really very affordable. I showed them everything I needed and they quoted me on the spot for $160 total. I was able to purchase $100 worth of services for $75 on Angie's List in advance of the appointment (it's a pretty good service for homeowners). That left me with an additional payment of $60 at the end of the visit, and then I added a bit more for gratuity as these guys work really hard, and they deserved something for themselves. Fantastic professional service! These guys are the BEST! Found them on Yelp!, gave them a call and left message. Chris got back to me within 15 minutes. He said they could come out the next day but could possibly come by the same day if their scheduling allowed. They are able to give you a "rough" honest estimate as to the cost over the phone. They base it on how much room the estimate your junk will take up in one of their trucks or huge dump trailers. I was getting rid of 5 extremely heavy 6ft long oak and glass display cases (I bought fro an old Hobby Lobby Store) and a full size stand up refrigerator. All of the items had to be removed from my walk out basement and carried up a short by rather steep incline to the street. When they arrive to give you an actual quote they have the truck (or trailer) ready to go right then and there. I paid $375 for everything. No surprises, no hidden additional fees for disposal etc. Well worth it because this stuff was huge, awkward and HEAVY! Thanks Chris (and your helper).
