I used to think of Standard Market Grill as a spot I could count on for some "good vibes" and a good meal. I just revisited this spot after a few years, and to my (unpleasant) surprise, it was nothing like I remembered. Severely underwhelming. What used to be an old (neighborhood) favorite has turned into a tired place, in desperate need of a "refresh." This spot was DIRTY. The run-down, plastic "water cups" are hanging on for dear life. The wine glasses we received were covered in dust and hair. I couldn't even bring myself to drink the wine I had purchased because of the HAIR and DUST floating around in it. It's clear that the hygiene of Standard Market Grill is NOT up to par. I really wanted the food to make up for the rest, but sadly, it didn't. The food here was painfully average. The "Don" pizza lacks flavor, and its dough is comparable to that of the cardboard-like pizza I used to be served at my school cafeteria. The only thing we enjoyed was the Sweet Potato Fries -- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside -- paired perfectly with the Garlic Aioli served alongside them. Service was okay. Sure, generally speaking, the "ambiance" of this spot is pleasant. But there are too many negatives, which strongly outweigh the few positives. read more

Standard Market has a great ambiance. The store has an aesthetically pleasant appearance with nice lighting. It looks clean and well-organized. They also have a spacious dining area. The first couple times I visited the store, I got their Market Faroe Island Salmon bowl. This salmon bowl is a MUST TRY food option. It was amazing, and I really enjoyed it. I pray that they have it every time. Standard Market has a bunch of other prepared food options, which I think is excellent. It looks like they typically have lots of good food options, e.g., great variety. I would recommend this store to others who may be interested. read more

Wow! I am so surprised this is not rated higher. I loved it. We didn't know what to order, so we sat at the counter. We properly greeted by Janet, the order taker at the register AND the gather of the to go orders, who was beyond friendly to use. More importantly, she was friendly to customers who weren't so friendly to her. She checked in on us while we sat and watched to food being sent out. Everything looked good and the sizes were huge. We opted to split the Buddha and ordered the sweet potato fries. We weren't able to finish them. The Buddha was sweet and filled with fresh veggies. I have been to this location for the last 7 years just finally share my experience. In terms of aesthetics, that's the only thing I can rank them highly. Pricing is the highest supermarket in the area, and that includes Whole Foods. There is absolutely never a good deal, the only sales they have bring them to their competitors regular pricing. I have never found the employees to provide the level of customer service to match their ridiculous pricing either. I used to like a couple of their feed a fam of four meals but for the last few years their quality has went down while prices went way up. Very little variety in those offerings for a fam of four also. Their "reward"program never gets to any level of reward, maybe a cup of coffee after you spend hundreds. The spicy teriyaki tenders were really delicious--great flavor and perfectly cooked, though they weren't actually very spicy. Yesterday I shopped at Standard Market. I enjoy grocery shopping and believe that I should be able to take my time perusing the options before purchasing groceries. Especially since most of the products here are pretty expensive. Towards the end of my shopping I started to notice managers/employees were watching me and following me around the store. It made me highly uncomfortable. When it came to checkout one of the men went up to the clerk I was in line at and whispered something to her while pointing to me. There was a group of men all watching me check out. I felt highly uncomfortable. I am not sure if it was because I took awhile to shop (less than an hour) or because I did not know the layout of the floor and had to circle back a few times for veggies I needed for a meal. The main item I was looking for was caviar but after noticing individuals watching me I decided to give up and go to Whole Foods for the last few things I needed. The grill is probably the best part of the entity under the umbrella of The Standard Market. You have the grocery store, wine bar, pseudo taco stand and The Grill. Unfortunately just as the market is showing curling edges, the grill has seen better days. On a recent visit the same tired menu was all they had to offer with no surprising specials. The special that evening was a salad. You use to get pork tenderloin with nice sides, filet or a piece of fish. Then again why not offer a salad special over the 4-5 salads already on the menu. A nice touch is that they have a water bar with different fruit and vegetable flavorings. This evening there was no water available as they had it refilled them. Love the convenience of this place because of how it's located actually inside of Standard Market; if you like something you ate, you can buy it immediately afterwards. Here, you order and pay ahead of time which is always nice in case you're in a hurry. My go to item is usually a salad and a side of the Sweet Potato fries with extra honey mustard dressing. They are also perfect to take home and pop in the air fryer. The portions are pretty big for the prices and everything is usually enjoyed, making it always harder to decide what to order for future visits. My only complaint last time were the stale croutons in my salad- hard as rock.
