If you know me, you know I despise driving - it makes me feel so lazy! As a runner it just doesn't ever make sense to drive a car less miles than I can jog but often it's just necessary. Unfortunately there aren't many opportunities for me to ride the metro in LA. I have however started taking it each time I go to theatre. It definitely feels far less utilized and common in LA than it does in other cities (domestic and abroad) but I'm totally satisfied with the quick trips I make around town when I do. I always keep a couple tap cards in my handbags so I'm ready when it's time. It's a bit cringe that I even have to drive my car to the metro stop but it is what it is. They've also been charging for parking for several years now, but you'll quickly learn in LA similar to NY this will still run you far less than valet or parking at certain places. I'd highly encourage choosing the metro over driving or ubering any day in most any city. $1.75 each way and no sitting in nauseating traffic is a win for me. I often ride solo or with a friend no issues either way.

Getting inside the structure was incredibly easy. There were a couple options on where to park with different prices. We chose to park in the uncovered outdoor lot. The shuttle came directly to our car to pick us up and take our luggage to the Burbank airport. Everything was very easy to navigate. The shuttle ride took less than five minutes to get to the terminal. Checking out was also easy upon our return. Prices are reasonable. They're a little more than the Burbank airport lots but that's to be expected with a private company. We were at least thankful that there was plenty of parking here as an alternative to the Burbank airport parking lots.

The parking lot is fairly easy to navigate and usually you'll be in luck, however as more businesses shift back into running at some larger capacity for indoor and/or outdoor enjoyment... Street parking is always your friend and there's plenty of it! The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional from check-in to check-out. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, making it a great place to relax after a fun day at the park. Overall, the hotel itself was nice, and there were definitely some things we appreciated. The shuttle service was extremely convenient, running every 15 minutes from 8 AM until 3 AM, which made getting to and from Universal very easy. The pool area was also nice, although I was disappointed that the pool was not heated. Another great perk was being able to leave our bags with the hotel after check-out, and our valet parking was available until 6 PM the following day, which was very convenient. Unfortunately, the room and the overall check-in experience really took away from the stay. I booked through Booking.com, and honestly, I couldn't help but feel that we were given one of the hotel's least desirable rooms because of it. We were traveling with my two daughters and my daughter's teenage friend, and we ended up in what felt like "the basement room." We had to walk down a set of stairs and then all the way to the back of the property. Yes, the room had a balcony, but the view was essentially of the parking lot. The basement area also had an unpleasant smell, and unfortunately, the guests next door were smoking marijuana. The smell seeped into our room even though our balcony door was closed. With three teenagers, that was especially unpleasant. I understand that booking through a third-party site may mean receiving a discounted rate, but our stay was still around $500, which is certainly not an insignificant amount of money. I don't expect special treatment because I booked through Booking.com, but I do expect to feel like I am receiving the same level of hospitality as any other paying guest. Instead, the room made me feel like we were being treated as second-class guests simply because we booked through a third party. The man who checked us in was also extremely robotic and impersonal. There was very little warmth or effort to make us feel welcomed. Honestly, the interaction felt like something an AI kiosk could have handled. I would stay in the area again because the location and shuttle service are excellent, but for the price we paid, I expected a much better room and a more welcoming experience. Sheraton Universal really needs to reconsider how third-party/Booking.com guests are treated. A discounted booking is still a paying customer, and guests shouldn't feel like they're being placed in the "reject" rooms because they didn't book directly. There were some very convenient amenities, but unfortunately, the room assignment and lack of welcoming service left me feeling that the $500 we spent was not worth the experience.

It was our first time in Hollywood, so we quickly looked up parking garages on Yelp and found the Hollywood & Highland Parking Structure. It was an easy parking structure to get into and there was plenty of spaces. I think we paid around $25.00 for the parking. We only stayed about 5 hours in Hollywood, going to a few different places like the Museum of Illusions, Ripley's Believe it or Not, and other places. There was also a security guard at the entrance. It's right next to all of the tourist attractions at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The parking structure worked out great for my family and I!

Those are your two main options for WeHo parks. If you have dogs come to this one. Not for the dog park but because there's way more room. Plummer is literally trying to make fetch happen with a tiny dog park smaller than my WeHo backyard next to the tennis courts. Yeah guys thats what those piles of dirt are there for. Its actually manure so dont jump on top of it kids. No one will use it and it will still cost money. One day. When its no longer a pile of manure. In the meantime WeHo park is where dogs should go. They also have kids movies once in a while and concerts and stuff. For free. Except for your parking ticket. Howd you think this city affords everything, cmon.
