I can't think of many cities around the world that I don't use the metro in, I'm a huge fan of…read morepublic transportation but it feels most foreign in my own city where my main mode of transportation is driving (barf!) if walking isn't an option. If you know me, you know I despise driving - it makes me feel so lazy! As a runner it just doesn't ever make sense to drive a car less miles than I can jog but often it's just necessary. Unfortunately there aren't many opportunities for me to ride the metro in LA. I have however started taking it each time I go to theatre. It definitely feels far less utilized and common in LA than it does in other cities (domestic and abroad) but I'm totally satisfied with the quick trips I make around town when I do. I always keep a couple tap cards in my handbags so I'm ready when it's time. It's a bit cringe that I even have to drive my car to the metro stop but it is what it is. They've also been charging for parking for several years now, but you'll quickly learn in LA similar to NY this will still run you far less than valet or parking at certain places. I'd highly encourage choosing the metro over driving or ubering any day in most any city. $1.75 each way and no sitting in nauseating traffic is a win for me. I often ride solo or with a friend no issues either way.

No stacked parking if you get here by about 6pm - but you may experience the stacked parking blockage on your way out after the show. They put in some landscaping and added more parking spaces. They've also added a large, handicapped accessible porta potty (not recommended, but it did have toilet paper!) This is a very convenient way to get to the Hollywood Bowl.

However, this location doesn't limit the amount of people who can buy shuttle tickets from here, leaving way more people buying tickets than there are spots available to actually park. So, after a fun show at the Bowl and a quick shuttle ride back, you get to enjoy the luxury of waiting at your car that has been double, triple, or (believe it or not!) quadruple parked!! It's gotten so bad that one time upon carpooling with a friend, I took an uber home as I had an early morning and it was only until after I had returned home, showered and gotten ready for bed, that I received a text from my friend that she was finally able to leave this lot. 2 star because I've never had any issues w the Bowl staff / parking lot staff / Shuttle staff that work here.

Before our arrival, I requested a room close to the elevator because my mom uses a walker. The hotel was very thoughtful and accommodated our request, which made our stay so much easier and more comfortable. We truly appreciated their kindness and attention to our family's needs. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional from check-in to check-out. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, making it a great place to relax after a fun day at the park. Thank you to everyone at the Sheraton Universal Hotel for your outstanding hospitality. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Universal Studios!

Cancelled at the last minute after even "mobile check‑in" - no real help, no respect…read more We booked a standard reservable rate at the Sheraton Universal Studios Hollywood for a stay around Memorial Day weekend, months in advance. Their policy was to charge our card by May 20, 2026 and no refund. We also had Marriott gift card being members we planned to use to pay for our reservation at check in. We assumed reservation was all good given we were able to check‑in through the Marriott app, which made us believe our reservation was secured and we were "already checked in" before arriving. At the last minute, after we had already started our trip driving 3 hours with our family, they cancelled our reservation and claimed they had sent a "courtesy notice" only an hour before our arrival via email, stating our method of payment had been denied. That is not a courtesy. They did not call us, did not attempt to let us correct or update the card, and did not give us a chance to pay with a new card or resolve the issue. We spoke to a David initially and knew something was wrong when he looked at our reservation even after telling him we checked in and was asking for our room being ready. He went to get Cobi Lara Director of Front Office. Given the situation I showed my frustration in a tactful tone as Cobi was already defensive and unhelpful on his approach to us. He acted as if this was normal, showed little to no apology, and offered almost no real help. When we pushed back and explained how unacceptable this was--especially on a Memorial Day weekend when the hotel and nearby area were sold out--the tone only changed after we made it very clear we were unhappy. Management later claimed they "thought we had cancelled our reservation" and had already given the room away, but this was never reflected in our account or communicated clearly to us. They seemed to prioritize re‑selling at a higher rate over honoring a guest reservation, even for Marriott Bonvoy members and elite guests. Their only "solution" was to tell us to book a hotel 15 minutes away, despite the fact that we were with family, had already ridden out to the Universal/Hollywood area, and were minutes from the theme park. They provided no coordinated alternative, no shuttle, no compensation, and no real sense of accountability. This experience was extremely unprofessional, poorly handled, and damaging to our plans. We felt like Marriott and the Sheraton Universal Studios Hollywood treated their members and customers with little respect, cancelling our reservation at the slightest opportunity just to push the room at a higher rate. We expect this to be escalated to Marriott corporate management and for a clear policy review: "mobile check‑in allowed" should not be misleading if the hotel can still cancel the reservation without a real attempt to contact the guest by phone or give a chance to correct the payment method. Marriott corporate needs to evaluate the customer service of this place. This particular location does need to dedicate professional training to the front desk staff, especially if the director is incapable of showing real courtesy, remedy and provide value to their members and to handle such situations better as well as the person helping me made things much worse and only changed his tone after understanding his mistake.
