    We noticed a significant amount of dust buildup around our vents, so we contacted Steamatic for a…read morefull cleaning. When I called, they quoted a price based on our home's square footage. Since that didn't feel precise, I asked for someone to come out and confirm the estimate. A staff member visited, counted all the vents and intakes, and explained that we had more vents than expected for a home our size, which increased the price. I appreciated the transparency there. Before scheduling, I asked how long the job would take. I was told two hours. The day of service was where the problems began. Two Steamatic employees arrived at 9 a.m. They explained they needed to set up a large vacuum system in the basement. Unfortunately, this equipment required more power than anticipated, and it took nearly two hours just to find an outlet configuration that would work. Once they began cleaning, the process took much longer than the original estimate - they finished at 4:30 p.m. That's a seven-and-a-half-hour job, not the two hours I had been told. I contacted Steamatic to express my frustration. To their credit, the company responded quickly: a supervisor came out several days later to inspect the work and found several issues, including dust on walls and ceilings, vents missing screws, and others not secured properly. Within a few hours, a second crew was sent to correct everything. Steamatic ultimately made things right. I received a revised invoice with a $177 discount, which I appreciated, and a VP called me personally to understand what happened. The supervisor also explained that the job should have been estimated at five hours - not two. One final note: no matter how careful the team is, vent cleaning does create some dust in the home. That's simply part of the process. Bottom line: Based solely on the service day experience, I would have rated this a 1. But because of how they handled the issues- prompt follow-up, corrections, and a fair discount - I'm giving them a 3 out of 5.
