i've been coming to this office for years now and I'm a regular, so I feel like I can honestly speak on my experience. I truly love this place They take their time with you, actually listen, and make sure you feel comfortable and understood. I've never felt rushed or like just another patient they really make me feel like I'm their only patient every time. I also really appreciate how they're direct but still caring. They're honest with you, but in a way that shows they truly care about your well-being and want what's best for you. I've seen some of the 1-star reviews, and honestly I'd say give this place another chance. As someone who's been coming here regularly for years, my experience has been consistently positive. The most incompetent billing staff on the planet work here with almost unbelievable patient-collections conduct and policies! Stanford Medical Partners will misbill your insurance and at the same time have a hair-trigger to send you to debt collections when insurance clawsback for *their* mistake. Adding insult to injury, it becomes "no longer in their hands" when they send your misbilled balance to collections too! You are then forced you to deal with their criminal-esque hardened and snarky collections agents themselves! ABSOLUTELY NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKES! If I have to share something good here, their office facilities are always clean and well-kept. Security is always courteous and present to keep you safe. However, the parking lot is terribly small especially if you have anything larger than a compact SUV like a CRV/Rav4/Rogue. Expect door-dings. read more

Amazing! We travel from Merced up to Castro Valley just to have imaging done. It's easy to make appointments, the wait time has always been quick. The images have always been good. When we had imaging done in Merced, a lot of the time, doctors would ask us to have them done again at a different location. That is how we found out about Stanford Medicine Partners. The technicians here have always been friendly and knowledgeable. The quality of care is top notch. SMP has top of the line equipment. This is our preferred spot. read more

I've been a long time patient of Stanford. This particular medical office has almost everything. It's very clean and maintained. Very modern as well. They have on each floor showing staff and wait times. I have not had issues with appointments. The appointments have rarely been long waits. The staff, physicians and nurses have been helpful and friendly. I have never experienced a rude and disrespectful staff member here. I usually come to this location for lab work, X-ray's needed, see my physician here if I can't see her in the other Hayward office. Their care is great and I have never had issues. Appointments are spaced out well so you don't feel like you are jam packed and are actually seen in a timely manner. Clean facility. Parking lot has so many compact spots but the normal size spots grill up quick. But overall parking is easy. I'm surprised at the overall low rating as my experience has been positive. I am incredibly disappointed with my recent experience at Stanford Castro Valley Radiology Center and will be filing a formal corporate complaint.First, the scheduling and communication here are completely broken. X-rays are handled on a walk-in basis. Despite arriving early, eight people who arrived after me were called back and seen before me. When I finally demanded an explanation, the radiology staff was unprofessional and defensive. They claimed they deliberately delayed my X-ray to keep it close to a secondary procedure I had scheduled an hour later. This terrible logic prolonged my total time at the clinic by 1.5 hours. To make matters worse, the radiology team then blamed the check-in staff, claiming they were never informed of my arrival. Nobody took ownership, and no one bothered to explain the timeline to me while I sat waiting.However, the most egregious breach of safety and privacy happened in the changing area. A male technician swung open the door of the dressing room while I was actively changing. He did not knock or give any notice. He was accompanied by a male patient, and neither of them averted their eyes or stares. I barely had time to scramble out of the room before the technician casually told the other patient he could go in and change.This clinic lacks basic operational competence and essential privacy measures. The dressing room doors do not even have functioning locking mechanisms. I am deeply shaken by the complete lack of patient privacy, the failure to communicate test timings, and the dismissive attitude of the staff. The doctors were always running late for every one of my appointments between 15 to 30 minutes and the desk staff has the audacity to ask if that was alright. First let me start with this review is solely based on trying to schedule appointments. First the app sucks on trying to book appointments as no one is ever available. Secondly, I scheduled an appointment and when I called to verify the doctor was in my network, the insurance verification department told me that I would have to contact my provider directly to see if the PCP was in my network. Seems odd to me due to that's your job and when you go to a doctor's office they check your insurance information. That was a few weeks ago. Fast forward to today and the lady I spoke with on the phone was rude, and condescending. She told me since my medical card said I was part of a different medical group, I couldn't be book with the particular doctor I was looking to see. So pervious experience with the department couldn't tell me if a doctor was in my network but now since my medical card that I uploaded says I'm in a different group outside the doctor's group, you can tell me I can't be seen. I definitely got the feeling of we don't want you here vibes and told her that I wouldn't be contacting that office again due to service being straight trash. Informing patients is easy to do for most part, helping to rectify the issues isn't for everyone. read more

Clean and new medical offices. Diagnostic labs and imaging is done onsite (bloodwork, mammograms, ultrasounds, other xrays etc). They are right at the corner of John Drive and Castro Valley Blvd, next to Cafe 4. The reception is professional and helpful. There are lactation and dressing rooms on the first floor if needed. I recommend downloading Stanford Health's MyHealth app so you can e-check in on your phone in advance. You can also schedule some basic/general appointments online (annual physical, pap smear etc). I found getting an appointment in person is easier and they have more ability to put you in earlier than the online waitlist for any cancelations. The doctors, nurses and technicians are friendly and informing here. Outside, they have a private free parking lot for about 30 cars and a security guard onsite. read more

They have rotating physicians after the main physician left. Specifically Dr Fantaye was HORRRIBLE!!! He didn't listen at all and discounted my lived experience and his notes in my chart are a LIE! Do NOT see him if you care at all about your health. He uses his "expertise" as the end all be all to human existence and he is wildly off base. I'm so glad I ended up moving. I've NEVER had such a bad experience with a professional doctor. In fact this is my first time reviewing a physician so others dont have as bad of an expense as i did. Even the other doctor who reviewed my recent lab work without seeing previous lab work or meeting with me made determinations on my health and medication. Terrible experience. Staff is nice. Came here for blood work and was scheduled at 1:15. First off the girls at the registration desk are extremely unprofessional. They're laughing really loud and swearing at each other. You can hear their whole conversation. I waited almost an hour for blood draw. The lab tech said there was only one tech. But there were no patients in the lobby waiting but me!!!! First off, workers were on strike when I arrived. Second, this place does not have it together. It took weeks to get the test results. Then, they shared the results with someone who is not my doctor. I called to ask about this. I was perfectly polite but the woman would not even listen to my question. Would not let me get more than a few words out before interrupting me and giving me an answer that was totally irrelevant. She was so rude, so I got rude, admittedly. But, honestly, it's terrifying that she told me that they have no idea how the records get into the system or shared with anyone and that a doctor outside their office could maybe let me know how they get the info...What?! I cannot be more thankful for what happened today at the test lab, I had vasovagal reactions after few tubes of blood drawn. All medical assistants took really good care of me, Physician immediately came to check on me. Everyone make sure I'm okay and did few blood pressure test before I walked out the door. Feeding me with water, juices and snacks. Recently moved to the area and changed my primary care to SMP. Beside it took me a while (about 2 months) to book the earliest availability, I'm very satisfied and impressed by facility cleanness and friendly staffs that assist my visit. This is NOT a place that takes STANFORD LAB ORDERS. They only take LAB CORP and QUEST. I called in advance and no one told me this. (Why's is so difficult to say "we only take lab orders for Lab Corp and Quest"?) After meeting the front desk staff, I'm not surprised- they don't give a crap and are not going to do any research or give any info, even when they see you've never been there before. And guess what, I won't even be going there if I do have LC or Q orders. They're clueless and don't care. I hope that Stanford stops affiliating with them. read more

I have been with Stanford Medicine used to be Bay Valley Medical for over 20 years. I see the Dr.'s, my husband sees the Dr's and our 34 yr old sees the Dr.'s. My Primary Dr. is no longer with Stanford and I have asked to be taken off of a 2nd job for an additional 30 days because it has become a Hostile Environment for me. I am being denied the time off and are receiving many different avenues to take when it is a simple fix for the Lead Dr. to approve an additional amount of time on the EDD Site. I am the patient asking for help and DO NOT FEEL that I am getting the help requested, I know how I feel and I know what can help me. The Lead Dr. has not even spoken to me personally (but she is my Husband & Daughters Primary Dr.), but she has given other people at Stanford advice on what I need to do which I have been doing, but she will still not give me the time off. The Lead Dr. says I should take Anxiety Medication (I started it a week ago) and see the LCSW - (I am on my 4th visit), now she has said I should see a Psychiatrist but will not take me off of work to stay on Disability to deal with my Anxiety. How does this make sense for Medication to be prescribed, told to see someone to talk to but will not take me off of work to deal with this. Do I have 2 jobs "Yes", but my 1st job treats me so well - I have no issues, I am asking to be taken off of my 2nd job, and the Lead Dr. said she cannot because how can I work 1 job and not the other job - "Hello" - 2 totally different groups of people. Bottom Line my review is about "Patient Care" and at this time I am not receiving it. I have been told by other Treating Dr.'s at this Facility they are short staffed and do not have the time to deal with additional work, I guess my scenario has become additional work, so it is just easy to say no. How could things change and become a better situation - the Lead Dr. (I know her name and can always state it in a different review if nothing comes of this) - but the situation would get better if the Lead Dr. or at this put any Primary Care Dr. approve my request for additional time off. I am a Veteran Patient, I pay every pay check for my Company Medical to be able to see these Dr.s and I do not feel that they have my best interest in my current medical condition. I had to wait a really long time for an appointment. Then the day before the appointment they said my insurance wouldn't cover a doctor visit when it had been doing so in the past. This is the WORST place you can go for medical care. Specifically Dr. Cristina Gesmundo. She is uncaring and will not address your concerns because she does not listen. Instead, she is one of the doctors that is full of ego. She did not address my knee pain even though I am going to have a knee replacement, and she refuses to address my inability to sleep without copious amounts of Melatonin and Benadryl, which make me feel like crap the next day.
