I saw this iconic bakery in Otto and just had to stop on by for the hype. The bakery is quite lively with fantastic customer service and sweet goodies for all to enjoy. Seating area outside is a nice touch too.

Wish I could say something nice but I really can't make this up. My Godparents were home visiting from Florida and called to order the same kind of cake the had made from them 38 years ago. When we called yesterday we were told to call back and ask for "Mom" to talk to her about the cake. We did and everything was fine. Today we drove an hour and a half to be treated absolutely horrific. When my Uncle asked to speak to "Mom" to thank her for listening to him, we were told we get to deal with her daughter, the person waiting on us, or no one at all. That they were way too busy and that they actually bake things there!!!!!!!! We were the only ones in the store. Seriously. Then when he asked if it was made with almond extract, we were told she didn't know because she didn't bake it. Again, seriously. This is how you treat people. You're an extremely rude women to the point I couldn't even say anything because I was left speechless. DO BETTER FOR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIER WONDERFUL WEDDING CAKE FOR THE LAST 38 years and go out of their way to come back. Such a disappointment

Stangl's has been around Ambridge for awhile. I decided to stop in because I was craving something sweet. I got a lady lock, two peanut butter cup cookies and two m&m cookies all of which were fresh. The cookies were nice and chewy just the way I like them and it's only $.50 a cookie and $1.25 for a lady lock which is very reasonable. It smells good when you walk in and the owner is very pleasant and I was greeted with a smile. This is a nice local bakery. I actually went to elementary school with Lori and we're friends so it's nice to see local small business owned by local people who were born and raised right here in the community.

Everything I have tried was mouth watering. Cranberry scones, cranberry cookies, cranberry bread and cranberry almond biscotti.

They made my daughter's graduation cake and it was absolutely perfect- very moist and tasty. Their pastries are amazing too!

Great cannolis great lady fingers. We also bought our 25 year old NEET daughter her birthday cake here, and she loved it.

This is THE farmers market to go to when you need just about any sort of produce. Or something…read moreextra... but the regulars are Simmons, Janoskis, "the farm family", near Wood street bakery (fridays) and Pitaland, who have a fantastic variety of produce/herbs/plants, "the older guys" down towards the kettle corn (this doesn't arrive till June) Then you have food vendors- like Acou try Style Pizza, shaved ice, local honey, Coyne Family meats, the fudge lady, etc sorry I cannot name them all! Fridays only in May, then Things start rolling in June-August. Best part, this goes until November; it's covered, mostly enough parking except be prepared when corn season hits. Last Friday, the first market, Janoskis brought, French carrots, fennel, Sorrel, plants, tons of lettuces and cabbage- just to name a few. The AMAZING wood Street Bakery had their fresh breads, cinnamon rolls- so much good stuff that's hard to choose! And a new vendor came selling beautiful tulip bouquets. This has been a family favorite stop for over 20 years that we've lived nearby.

You could get in and out fairly quickly if you knew exactly what you wanted. We arrived a few minutes after 5:30pm and there was a bit of a crowd already, but not the same magnitude of farmer's markets in the bay area. We only picked up a few veggies and fruit, all fresh and crispy, though one of the ears of corn we got had some smaller kernels compared to the rest of the bunch. Also managed to get some baked items, some gifts to take home, plus freshly cooked chinese dumplings! Besides the fresh veggies, these were a highlight considering there isn't much local asian food to choose from and definitely some of the better made dumplings I've had. Not too salty and not too oily. Great place to pick up a quick dinner or some last minute veggies.

Shenot Farm was founded by the Shenot family in the 1800s. Generations of family members raised…read moreanimals and grew produce. Today, family members grow vegetables such as corn and fruits such as apples. According to the family's website, they use both conventional and organic farming practices. On the farm's website, I also read that throughout the year, Shenot Farm offers events such as hayrides; pick-your-own flowers, apples, and pumpkins; and pumpkin-smashes. In the autumn they sell flowers, pumpkins, cornstalks, Thanksgiving turkeys, and fruit baskets, and in the winter they sell Christmas trees and wreaths. On a Saturday, my husband and I visited this farm's market to browse their foods. We parked our vehicle in their free parking lot. Inside the market, we saw foods such as lettuce, cabbage, green beans, brussels sprouts, beets, plums, sausages, chicken meats, eggs, milk, cheeses, apple ciders, cookies, pies, fudges, popcorns, jams, bread loaves, bagels, seasonings, sauces and dressings, salsas, applesauces, syrups, dessert mixes, granolas, teas, honeys, ice creams, etcetera! We also saw some non-food items such as candles and t-shirts. I selected an orange-colored "cheddar" cauliflower head, apple crisp mix, caramel-apple-pie fudge, and jars of banana butter, strawberry jelly, and apple butter. My husband and I had not previously eaten a few of the unique products, so we felt excited to try them. At the checkout counter, an employee promptly greeted us, accurately rang up our purchase, carefully bagged our foods, and thanked us. Each food cost roughly several dollars.

I love this place! They have a great assortment of unique jams, sauces and all the fruits and…read morevegetables are fresh. Grandkids loved the hayride last year too.
