I was a little puzzled by the door being wide open with open cases of pastries. Cute little shop. With that being said, I spent about $65 for a dozen of chocolate chips, mini lady locks and a dozen macarons. The chocolate chip cookies and lady locks were ok, I wouldn't make a tip just for them. Save your money on the macarons, they are clunky and have huge air pockets that leave them crumbling all over, filled with what I can best tell is a buttercream, the only flavor notes are in the buttercream. The service was good. I would revisit this bakery to try some of their other offerings. read more

My Sweet Lilly is a local bakery that sells baked goods for humans and dogs. During my most recent visit, I saw a large assortment of cookies, biscotti, macaroons, macarons, galettes, tortes, cake slices, and much more. Prices were average. Employees interacted nicely with us. My husband and I both noticed the apple galette, so we bought one of those, as well as peanut-butter blossoms. I rate the apple galette, which is like a pie with a short crust, as 4.5 stars and the cookies, which needed a stronger flavor of peanut butter, as 3 stars. I no longer have a dog (otherwise I would have bought many dog treats here!), so I unfortunately cannot comment on the dog treats. read more

I've given this bakery many chances, but it is a clunker when you consider the many fantastic bakeries in the Pittsburgh area. Service is lacking. I was unimpressed with their workers, but I'll give it a pass considering the holiday. Their baked goods aren't anything special. Everything tastes the same, too sweet, too much vanilla. There's no complexity of flavor here. The nut roll was dry. The cake is bland. Their cookies feel pre-packaged. I've had a better sugar cookie from Giant Eagle. For the prices, I'd recommend spending your money somewhere else in Pittsburgh. read more

In my opinion, this is one of the staples of the Strip District if you have a sweet tooth. The staff have always been friendly during my many visits to this bakery. It is wall to wall sweets and treats! They even have treats for dogs as well! They have holiday themed doggy bones and biscuits that I love to use for stocking stuffers/puppy birthday gifts. They have a little bit of everything. I've been many times, but still have yet to try it all. Cannolis, pies, cheesecakes, macarons, cookies, biscotti.... Need I say more? Everything I have tried has been very good. My personal favorites are the stuffed pizzelles, to-die-for's, tiramisu, and raspberry thumbprint cookies. read more

A boutique bakery in The Strip District.  A bakery specializing in baked goods for both you and your pet!!  They offer homemade delicious and traditional pastries.   I got the Italian assorted cookies and thought they were delicious and a fair price.  The raspberry filled cookie and the thumbprints were my favorites.  The dog baked goods look like human cookies and are so cute and a great quality.  They had homemade pumpkin roll that looked amazing, and I plan to go back to try. read more

I bought this pack of Lilly's Raspberry Cookies for $12. Now, they don't say Linzer cookies but everyone knows that's the look and shape of a Linzer. They were horrible. The cookie tasted like packed sawdust and the center like a fruit roll up from 1992. The only real thing in here was the powdered sugar which was sparse. We both tried one and I am throwing the rest out. Will def not buy there again. read more

This is a nice bakery with a variety of tasty looking treats. I ordered the peanut butter cookie and another cookie with Reece's peanut butter mixed into it. Both were fresh and flavorful. Another person in my party ordered the pecan treats and said they were okay, (which I agree). There are doggie treats available for sale as well! The location is surprisingly large when you walk in. Everything was clean and orderly, and those providing service were nice. There is probably something here for most people to satisfy their sweet tooth. read more

The baked goods are reasonably priced and the have a pretty decent variety. They have attractive displays throughout the store that are timelessly cute. The staff is always helpful, pleasant and they appear to take pride in their work. They're also dog friendly and have little baked dog treats in addition to their human snacks, though I cannot comment on their quality. Stopped here again whilst visiting family. They are still the best. Love love looove the biscotti dipped in Belgian chocolate. I've gone to Belgium and this really is Belgian chocolate. Very good, creamy not waxy. I only like white chocolate if it's Belgian. Also had a lady lock and a lemon cookie. Lock was full of creamy goodness. The lemon cookie was chewy and tasted lemony but I prefer some tartness which it didn't have. So if you like lemon without tart, you'll like these. I wish they had a place in Phoenix AZ area. We don't have anything like it here. I miss Pittsburgh but hate the weather. Lol! I wish I had purchased the assortment box too. Also bought some dog treats but these are made by Canine Confections in Greensburg. So far, Dobby likes them. It's a sampler so he's only tried a few so far. We like supporting local businesses so if in the area, I recommend stopping at Lilly's to try some yummy pastries. You can buy singles to try with a coffee you can purchase nearby. We came here on a food tour and got to sample their macarons. I tried the raspberry lemonade. The flavor was great, but maybe because it was gluten free, it was more flakey than I'm used to. The store itself was a neat experience to walk through. They have rotating display shelves of their pastries! I love that the store was named after the owner's dog Lilly! They had all kinds of dog treats as well. It was a bit pricey, but it was fun seeing all the colorful pastries. read more

Lilly's is an absolute must in the strip! They have so many different goodies to choose from. I haven't gotten something from here that I was disappointed in, and there's been more than a few trips! During the latest trip there we got a caramel chocolate cheesecake for Christmas and it was a hit. Our whole family loved it and said it was the best cheesecake that they've ever had. Located in the Strip District, this bakery has a bunch of different items to choose from. Unfortunately I think my choices were the wrong ones. The macarons looked amazing so I decided to try the tiramisu one. It didn't taste anything like tiramisu. In fact I didn't taste any coffee flavor whatsoever. It did have a sprinkling of cocoa powder on top giving it the look of tiramisu but without the flavor. The cookie part was amazing! Very flaky but the flavor wasn't all that great. The filling was a very sugary buttercream with no flavor. I think next time I'll try the chocolate one. I haven't given up on this place yet. I also bought a package of Lady Locks. They were flaky and not too sweet. There's filling in it but not enough in my opinion. I think I'll pass on these next time also. I will be back to try other items because there's so much to choose from and I can't imagine they are all just mediocre. read more

The staff was very pleasant. I am sorry to say that the pastries and candy were not. The ladylocks were so stale they were hard. The almonds on the burnt almond tart were soggy. The "turtles" have some sort of toffee base rather than the traditional soft caramel. Their flavor isn't bad, but not at all what we expected, more like a chocolate covered toffee brittle. It would have been good to know that. I hope the dog I bought the treats for likes them. Given all the great reviews, perhaps we just came on a bad day, but won't be going back to try again. read more

I absolutely love this place. Since moving to the Strip, this has become one of my routine spots I hit on my Saturday stroll. The only criticism I have is that there isn't really any structure to order which can make it hard to be served without kinda butting your way through. I wish they had pull numbers. Wife and I just came from Deluca's which was next door. I saw all the pastries and biscottis and the store just pulled me in. All the pastries looked totally delicious and would definitely go back too try some other items. I got a biscotti sample pack which was $7 and had about 12 in the package. The staff where super friendly and extremely helpful. The selection was pretty good and I will definitely be going back for more I got home and ate about 4 of them before I even knew it. Such a fun bakery right in the middle of the strip. They have some Pennsylvania classic cookies which are always a big hit. They had a large variety of sweets which will make it hard for you to choose! The macrons were delicious as well as the large cookies. The cheesecake was thick and and looked very appetizing. Nothing throws you for a loop like a calling for a sweet. And when you are walking around in the Strip District it's a delight to find a place like this that can curb your need. I, like most people, aimlessly roam around the Strip District from time to time. Sometimes it has a purpose, but most times I just end up somewhere without thinking about it. That's basically what happened with My Sweet Lilly. I just wandered in here, or maybe I was guided by an unseen force. Kind of like that gag they did in the old cartoons where a scent just magically guided me here. Once inside it was a difficult time. Difficult in the sense that I now had to make a choice of what I wanted. It's not easy to figure out what you want when you are in a sweets shop, but you kind of just go with what your gut tells you. Bit of advice, don't come in here hungry or you will be making many more decisions than you should. I browsed for a bit, but already kind of knew what I wanted. I got myself and my other half one of each of the following: lady locks and gobs. Yes people, it is called a gob, it's not a whoopie pie, it is a gob in this neck of the woods. I will fight you over this. We waited until after we had dinner and made our way home for the night to enjoy our treats. Each were amazing, perfect sweetness to both. Left us wanting more, but that is until we have our next Strip District wandering. read more

Really ... you set up a huge display of pasteries, cookies, cannolis, enormous apple tarts, ladylocks, pizzelles, etc. and expect me to walk by them in the main lobby of a hospital ... I caved. Buckeyes the size of golf balls just melt in your mouth. The apple tart had a crisy crust with perfectly baked apples with just the right amount of cinammon and sugar goop. Um no pictures for this review because everything was savored/gobbled up in a matter of minutes. The gentlemen who were selling the products were very well versed in the products.
