The classic burger here is the defending champ for Denver Burger Battle. They won in 2017 and 2018 which is a tough task considering all the competition. The selection here includes gluten free Holliday Brewing, they also have cider, wine and Moscow mule all available on the self serve taps. Price is higher but expected. Basically SBH is a casual beer hang out with decent food. The green Chile is also worth a taste, maybe their service needs to get a bump but overall, me likey. read more

I have been super excited to try Stanley Beer Hall for some time now and dropped in on a Saturday to meet a friend. The business was practicing good social distancing of tables, all employees are wearing masks, and they've set up a good system for food pick up/ordering. My main issue was the limited menu itself ---where's the vegetarian option? Also, $10 was a lot for the pretzel bites. The draft beer is at a pretty high price as well, the staff informed us it was stadium cup sized but I was not looking for that much beer. All in all, a pretty average experience. read more

My husband and I both contracted severe food poisoning from here this weekend. We suspect it was from the chicken wings. When we called to report it to the restaurant on Sunday night we were told that that was consistent with other reports they've received and had corrected the issue with the chicken wings. I asked what the issue was out of curiosity and was told a manager would reach out to me. Yvette called me the next day and tried to dismiss the issue, saying symptoms of food poisoning don't present for 24-48 hours which is factually untrue. She also tried to explain that we were the only case, which is contradictory with what we heard from the other employee. We're disappointed with the dishonesty and will not be returning or eating chicken wings for a while. read more

First, a little background. We met our niece and her family here for dinner during a trip. This was in late may, while the entire complex was coming out of lock-down. So my impression is very likely not representative of what you may encounter later on... We arrived around 5:30 p.m. on a Friday. The entire Stanley Market complex looked like an interesting place, and my niece said they had enjoyed a lot of meals there in the past. However, it had been shut down and then offered curb-side take-out for a while. They were just attempting to at least partially open when we dined there. In order to be allowed to serve (?), it appeared that their compromise outdoor dining area was under a large tent (or two) outside the normal area. That was fine, except for a storm front that was moving in and creating a lot of wind, making it hard to dine on some items. The process at the time for ordering was for 1 - 2 representatives from each party to approach the register and give an entire order. You then got your drinks and they took your name. A bit later, they'd call you to come pick up your food. This wasn't ideal, but it was the best they could arrange under the circumstances, which was fine. Another oddity, as noted by our niece, was that the new 'temporary' menu bore almost no resemblance to their regular menu (maybe as it was being cooked in the tent where they took the orders?). You could choose between a few sandwiches (chicken, burger, etc.) and salads. They may have had a hot-dog option too. No one was that taken with their food. The salads were more like the crunchy bits that are excluded from salad tubs you buy at grocery stores. The storm picked up and we adjourned to our niece's apartment to finish eating, before our food blew away. If I returned to the area, I might well got back to check out Stanley Market in general and the Beer Hall in particular under more normal circumstances, though. read more

Positives: the food service was great considering you dont have a designated server and it makes it easy to move seats. Despite the cool beergarden-like interior, this place is just ok. At our table, we had the double cheeseburger, buffalo wings, and poutine, all of which were ok, but nothing exciting or even edging to the better side of "good." If I was to describe the double cheeseburger, I would say it's kind of like getting a Double Quarter Pounder at McD's, but paying 3.5x more for it. Side note: Oddly, Stanley doesn't have BBQ sauce anywhere in the restaurant, which I think is kind of weird for a place that serves burgers and meat sammiches. Another part that's kind of weird about Stanley is how they seat you. Instead of putting people in the most comfortable spots, they ended up seating us in high traffic areas next to opening doors when a large percentage of the restaurant was open and much more pleasant (and people were sitting in those places too). The host also went on a very odd monologue that kind of set the tone for a very weird meal of just ok food that costed way too much. Considering this place will run you $15/plate for lunch and upwards of $25 if you get a beer, you can do a whole lot better than SBH. For the price we paid and the food we got, we wished that we had just gone to Chick-Fil-A. read more

I rarely complain about service. Exceptionally poor here. Perhaps it's due to the business' request that customers tip before they are served at check in? Not sure but 4/4 on rude, unhelpful servers/bussers. DEAR OWNER: teach your staff how to smile and say the words "thank you." I worked in service for years and would love to see this place succeed but won't be back for a while. Have lived in the neighborhood for a decade and love supporting local businesses but my goodness... Also, hated being charged for 12 oz of undrinkable foam on half my drinks. Our friends chose this place for a catch up over beer and snacks. I didn't know it was at Stanley as it's tucked in the corner of the building. Before you are seated, they check your ID's, take a credit card and assign each person a card to record the self poured beer/wine/kombucha. I admit it's a pretty slick little system that is also fun. It's nice to be able to try little pours of beer if that's your fancy. We started with the pretzel bites and buffalo cauliflower. I wish the cauliflower had been a touch more crispy but the flavor was good. The pretzel bites were the better of the two. For my main I went with a veggie sandwich and tots. The sandwich was good but nothing too exciting with the veggie prep. More spices would have zazzed things up a bit. The tots were crispy and of course a crispy tot is potato in its best form. The hubs had fries that were also delightful for him. His burger he said was good and our friends enjoyed their salmon fish and chips. Service was lightening fast and we didn't get to finish the apps before the mains came out. I love this place. It's a great spot to go to with friends after work for a drink or two. Since covid they've switched things around- instead of serve yourself and pay by the ounce you now have to go and order from a bartender. It's now just their insulated patio, but it's heated and spacious. The drinks are expensive, but they're tasty (I have enjoyed their spiced cider and just a simple hot chocolate with marshmallow vodka). The atmosphere is pretty typical for a beer hall, but you have a great access to a nice outdoor patio. The service here is spectacular with the staff always around. As for the food, its what you would expect for a dive bar. Salty, bland food. I had the beer hall burger which was ok and the fries tasted stale. My husband got the fish and chips that were not good at all. I kept thinking he ordered Corn dogs since the breading on the fish was overkill. Stanley Beer Hall has been my go-to spot for happy hour with coworkers because it isn't far from the Anschutz campus and has a little bit of everything to please everyone. My co-workers consist of meat lovers and vegetarians and we're always pleased with the food we order here. The other big draw is their self-serve beer, wine and cocktails on tap! Yes, they have cocktails, like margaritas, on tap. It's a great variety of drinks for people who aren't exactly beer lovers or into wines because there's usually something for everyone. I was a bit thrown off by the way the service is provided here. You initially check in at the front to receive your card to activate the taps and set up your tab. It's open seating from there and your server will come over to grab your food orders, but your drinks (even water) is all self-serve. I really enjoy that because then it cuts out the wait time for me to get another drink and then the servers can focus on ensuring we get our food out while its hot and fresh. I generally stick with the tots and other appetizers here but their adult grilled cheese is delicious! Again, there are options for folks with different dietary needs so that's nice as well. The atmosphere here is really fun but can be loud. There's a lot of TVs around so you'll definitely be able to catch whatever game is on at the time. I've never had any issue with my bill being incorrect or ridiculously too much but I'm also very familiar with how to work the self-serve stations. I could see where some folks may have difficulty with this but just ask the servers, they've always been so nice and helpful every time I've been here. The check out process is interesting. If you're in a hurry you can do a pre-paid self check out (with gratuity already added) and your bill emailed to you. If you'd rather review your bill at check out, you can do so at the front desk. I've done both and never been over-charged or had an issue with my bill. I will say it's easy to rack up a hefty bill if you're drinking a lot of different beers and getting heavy pours. They have a huge beer wall with like sours to stouts and everything in between. There's something for everyone. On the left side of the wall, you'll find a great selection of wines. The new Stanley Beer Hall is much better than the old. After only one year, the owners realized the error of the restaurant's layout and remodeled. The new space has a lot more indoor seating. The outdoor seating is shaded and much more comfortable than it was before. I'm still undecided about the pour-your-own-beer concept. On the one hand, it's pretty convenient not having to wait for a bartender. On the other hand, on both occasions that I have visited, at least two of the taps have been broken. Seems like broken taps will be a regular occurrence. The food as good. Not anything that I would consider stellar yet, but good for bar food. I like the Rachel Reuben (turkey Reuben) and the loaded tots. The gluten free bun is not bad at all. Overall, I am very impressed with the new Stanley Beer Hall. It takes guts to remodel after just a year in business. The owners realized their error and were willing to spend the time and money needed to implement much-needed changes. read more

Went on a Thursday evening with a buddy. So, the last time I was there was Christmas time 2016 to meet up with some colleagues and business associates. It was a bit more upscale, sit down place with a full service bar, taps and I believe some bottles. The food menu I think was a little more foodie geared. Now they have pretty much completely changed format. Beer is self-service, they have a self-serve soda fountain for the kids (and non-drinkers) and food is more basic bar/pub fare. Seating inside was pretty much full around 530-6pm. They have a huge swamp cooler, it was 97 that day so inside temp was just short of uncomfortable with the full house, though amazingly even with the in and out from the outside it was still ok comfortable. They have a huge outside seating area with picnic tables. Servers are friendly and quite quick. They have a self service line of taps, you pay by the ounce using a key card tied to your cc# and name. Kind of fun, good variety I think mostly local / domestic brewers. I completely fouled up a pour to have a glass full of foam and one of the servers re-poured it for me and sort of walked me through beer pouring 101. The same young woman gave me another free beer when a bug ended up in my pour. I got a Chicago dog and fries ($9). I can get the same thing for $7 at Mile High Vienna, but that's the Stanley price bump. The hot dog was pretty basic, it was put together nicely, but after a bite it completely fell apart. Enough fries to share. Buddy got the Italian sandwich which he said was just above okay, and a side of the green chili. I had a taste and it seemed more like red chili with green chilis mixed in. I think they use beef instead of pork. All in all, I think I miss the original format of the place, but I guess it was too highfalutin a business model. I assume they are getting more visitors and more tickets now, but the beer selection doesn't seem as good and the number of people during busy times is a little trying. Everyone was in good spirits though, so even as someone who gets a little weirded out in packed crowds, I had a fine experience. They had on a retro 80s playlist and there were alot families there, which serves the wants and needs of the Stapleton crowd. read more

Worked with Jauna Donahue in regards to reserving a long table on patio to host my kids end of season soccer celebration. Can't thank her enough for making it convenient by just showing up after minimal communication. Food was great, beer selection worked well for a big group of people and great place to catch college football. On a different note we also inquired with flyteco brewery about hosting and they tried selling a large package instead of just reserving a space and wasn't flexible at all. So when they follow punchbowl social in a year and can't afford to pay for that large space you should of done things like Stanley Beer Hall does. read more

100% OBSESSED with this remodel. It was exactly what Stanley Beer Hall needed. Their food has always been really good (hi Stanley Cheeseburger ) but the bar staff was always seemingly stressed. The only thing I'm going to miss is sitting at the bar and watching the chefs do their thang. If you don't know what the remodel is all about, you now get to pour your own beer, wine, and a few select cocktails. They give you a beverage card when you walk in, and you use that card to choose the beer you want, and then it charges the card based on how many ounces you pour. I love that I can sample a huge selection of beers and not annoy someone (except maybe the dishwasher). Bonus points because I can walk home from here post trying ALL the beers. read more

We stopped by on a sunny Saturday, just a few days after the big relaunch. Was babysitting a friend's dog, so we headed out to the patio which is huge and will be amazing come summer. Wife and I took turns getting beers, I was excited about self-serve taps and they have a great selection! Settled on a Helles, then tried a cream ale and later a saison. As for food, we started with the pretzel bites. They were hot and fresh, crispy outside and fluffy inside. Side of beer cheese was tasty and there was more than enough for the dish. Not sure if it was an $8 appetizer, but I wanted to try a bit of everything. Mains, I got the Stanley cheeseburger and my wife got the burger with bacon (candied) and blue cheese. Prices seemed a little steep, but it all made perfect sense when food arrived. The burgs are all served as doubles, so they were huge! Meat was very fresh, cooked and seasoned well, and juicy delicious. Wife generously shared a bite of candied bacon with me and oy vay! I want to eat that every single day. Both of us got tots which were standard, but their generous portion was served hot and fresh. All in all, these guys really impressed me and definitely deserve your consideration. We had friendly service from the gal at the cash register and our server was attentive even though he had to run outside just for us. Stanley Beer Hall is a beer hall, but don't skip out on their biergarten out back. With kids running around during the day time, misters running on hot days, and speakers with the game on the big screen (when facing the hall itself), this feature gives Stanley that fifth star. Yes there are beers on tap, and many are good. The taps rotate, but I am not sure how often. But if you go now, you can also get a margarita on tap - and that is both awesome and dangerous. One overlooked bit is that they have a glass rack that matches the beer styles and other drinks available - so you don't have to drink wine out of a pint glass. You could, but you would be sending a message. The food is good as well. Last time I was there, it was strictly apps for me, but the wings are fantastic and their pretzel balls are out of this world. They are just smaller than a golf ball, soft and a bit hollow like a cream puff. Dip them in the beer cheese sauce and you will order another basket after one bite. read more

We really wish we would have looked at the reviews before we came in. The Philly cheese-steak was my least favorite by far. We had our kids with us and they had large booths which is good seating for toddlers. Our bill for 4 adults and 3 toddlers was over $100 plus tip. We all agreed that this was a 3.5 star experience. Moving to a new town gives me some great opportunities for some "firsts". Some of these will be fails and others will be hits. The Stanley Beer Hall is a giant HIT!!! Large space with tons of seating outside makes this a great place for large groups. But at the same time, I also enjoy squeezing into a large table with our two top, mainly to see what others are eating and enjoying. Self-service beer taps are a great touch. Swipe your card and drink it down with ease. You just better know how to properly pour a pint. I watched many screw that one up. The service was awesome. Staff will come and take your food order and bring the food to you. Our food came out pretty darn quick. I had the Adult Grilled Cheese. Oh lord, it makes my top 10. But the tots with green sauce was insane. If you love the green sauce, this is a must. Trust me. we also had the Chicken Philly. Great bread and great flavor. It's giant and could easily be split. Stopped in Sunday around noon with my 3 BFFs to celebrate one of their birthdays. We started out at Comida until we found there were only serving brunch whereas we were wanting actual lunch options. We came across this place and decided to give it a try. As stated, this is a unique concept where you serve yourself alcoholic beverages and you are charged by the ounce. I went for the margarita, that was $1.19 per ounce. This brought the price of my margarita to over $16 for a fairly small margarita. What's even worse is it was horribly sweet, tasting like a pre-mixed Jose Cuervo margarita. It immediately made me nauseous due to the high sugar content. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower app, which came out fairly quick. It was just ok, basically some steamed cauliflower with Red Hot poured over it. The server came over and asked how the app was and we replied it was good, she then turned around and walked away without taking our order. It took her another 20+ minutes to come back for our order, all the while she was chit chatting with other servers. Based on previous reviews this did not surprise me. For lunch I ordered the green chili cheddar tots that were decent. Friends ordered the Philly Cheese Steak (bread fell apart and she had to eat it with fork and knife), the Teriyaki Salmon (small portion for high price and overcooked/dry) and the Bison Dog (which was just ok).
