Had my carpets cleaned 40 days ago and all the stains came back. The stains were dirt, not ink, blood, animal stains or anything like that. Just spoke to customer service and they said my time to complain is expired and they don't guarantee stains coming out. The technician told me they came out. I wish they would get their stories straight. Had I known they could come back after the service I would have opted to not have it done. Guess I'm the sucker who paid them money and have no product afterwards. My carpets look exactly the same. Total waste of money. I'd never use them again. read more

It was again time to have my carpet cleaned, as the last time was two years ago. Since I was satisfied with Stanley Steamer when they cleaned my carpet two years ago, I decided to give them another go at it. When I made the appointment, the young lady who answered the phone was pleasant, quoted me a price, and set up the appointment for my convenience. She then called me later that day to give me a three hour window and confirm my appointment. The technicians arrived on time, right in a the middle of the three hour window. Joe and Edgar were the two technicians. They were both very professional and pleasant to deal with. They confirmed which rooms were to be cleaned before they started, did not try to up-sell me with a myriad of additional services, and took the time necessary to really clean the carpet, especially where there were some tough stain areas. When completed, I checked the service and was very satisfied with the results. The price that I was quoted when I made the appointment was the price I paid. They moved the furniture I asked them to move, and protected all furniture and items in the rooms. Amazing job by Rob L - I would recommend him to anyone. We just had 3 rooms and a staircase cleaned and the carpets look and smell so clean. With two toddlers & two cats these carpets really get worn out, now they look like new after the cleaning. This guy was very professional, very quick and moved & lifted all the furniture. I hadn't use them in over a year. I must have forgotten why. I was just about to schedule an appointment but decided to look at the recent yelp reviews first. Then it all came back to me after reading so, so many bad reviews. I did have a bad experience with them. I called about the $99 promo they had advertised. I only wanted a small stairway with 12 steps cleaned. The person on the phone quoted me a price of $150 to clean the stairs saying that the $99 promo didn't apply to my service. The two guys they sent, Christian and Giovanny, were so rude and lazy. Giovanny being the worst of the two! He made me feel so uncomfortable being confrontational and constantly swearing under his breath. After they cleaned the stairs, and I mean barley cleaning it and only took them 15 mins. They charged me over $150!!! They said I was misinformed about pricing! I could have been more forgiving with the jacked up price for such a small job. But, the behavior of these 2 guys was not acceptable!! read more

I have used Stanley Steemer just to do a routine cleaning in our bedrooms. I told them that I have wool carpets and to be very careful- they said they do this all the time. They completely oversaturated all the rooms and the carpets turned brown. They said they could fix the brown. They came again and made it worse - they said they would replace All the carpets due to the fact that they ruined them. When it came to following through- not only did they not replace, they stall and give you a run around don't send the insurance company or respond to lawyer letters. the manager doesn't stand behind his own words He LIES!!! I told the rep on the phone I had leather couches. She assured me the tech would be able to clean, deodorize, and condition the couches. When the tech arrived he said he was unaware of what I requested, but he had the necessary supplies with him. After only cleaning the couches he told me he could not proceed any further. He told me the chemicals they use for deodorizing would be harmful for the leather. I called back the same day to complain and ask why I was told on the phone that this could be done. I was told that a manage would call me back on Monday. No one did. It wouldn't have been an issue if I was given the correct information when I booked the appointment. Would never use them again. I had decided to have the carpet in a bedroom and living room steam cleaned before the arrival of our baby. When making the appointment, they didn't tell me what to do to prep the area. So I and my wife cleared as much as we could off the carpet. My appointment was between the hours of 8am and 12pm. I called early that day to have them call me prior to their arrival. They did not. They just showed up. That's not a big deal. The quickly came in and i showed them to the area that needed cleaning. Before you know it, the worker began to steam clean the carpet in the furthest part of the room. They basically do a very quick pass on the carpet. They did not make any effort to actually ensure the carpet was being cleaning properly. I clean my carpets yearly with my hoover shampooer/cleaner. My carpet is roughly only 5 years old. They're steamer was pulling up dirt very well. However, the fact that he was just doing a quick single pass over the carpet wasn't proving to properly clean. I even showed the guy one particular spot that had a stain. He said he will take care of it and he continued to just do a single pass over that area as well. It had lightened up from the single pass but if he had just did another pass or two over it, it would have been fine. They didn't ask me to move furniture. I asked them should i move anything and they said no. Before you know it, they finished steaming both rooms and when i asked if he did under the bed, he said he can't because its a platform bed, which it wasn't. These guys literally just wanted to knock out the job and get paid. If I had knew they wouldn't prep or move any furniture at all, would have never hired them. I should have hired a private company and not these pathetic franchises. They are all about quantity and not the quality of their work. When i did the estimate online, I was quoted, $159. When all was said and done, I had to pay $202 because they sprayed scotchgard protection at the end. If you want your carpets cleaned properly, find a company that will explain everything to you prior to any work. Make sure they will move furniture so they can clean all the carpet, not just what's exposed. If they can't move it, at least they should tell you ahead of time so you can have someone move furniture while they work so you get the most out of the money. Second, make sure you ask them how thorough they will be with cleaning the carpet. Will they be just running the steamer quickly with just a single pass or will they be doing it deep and clean. This Stanley Steemer is a joke. I spent $202 for something that i could have done on my own. Save your money and rent a commercial carpet cleaner, otherwise find another company who takes pride in their work. I will never use this company again. read more

I have an area shag rug and cleaning a shag rug can be complicated. After doing extensive research I called Stanley Steemer. Kamel and Andrew arrived on time and did a fantastic job. We called Stanley Steemer to clean the carpets in a house we had just purchased. The carpets were not in great shape, but these guys did such a fantastic job. When they were done, the carpets looked and felt so much cleaner and they were able to remove some pretty nasty stains. We asked them if they could tackle the tiles in the bathroom as well, which they did with enthusiasm. We had just moved into a condo and the tile floors in the kitchen and hallway were encrusted with dirt. Vinnie assure me that the floors would look great by the time he and Kevin completed the job. I just got my carpets cleaned from Stanley Steamer. And we have a tile floor which i didnt know they clean as well , its amazing my floors look like brand new now , while cleaning my carpets i told them my 8 year has alllergies so they used some kind of spray that i guess kills the germs which i was like thank god. I hadnt used stanley steamer in a bit used another company and i was disgusted with the out come so i had to bite the bullet and have them come in and do it. Boy ill tell ya you get what you pay for ! Amazing difference in the duperior quality of Stanley Steamer compared to companies that claim they are just as good ! I was really surprised when i read some recent reviews here on yelp about Stanley Steamer , like they say some people just like to complain and are never happy. The cleaning they provided my home after it suffered smoke damage was great. Ron C. and Carlos A. were awesome and helpful. They worked in tandem and did my whole house (couch, 5 area rugs, bathroom and kitchen grout, two mattresses, arm chair, rocking chair, box spring, a slew of fabric children's toys and a bunch of other items) in like 4 hours. i have been using stanley steemer for years.... they've always done a relatively good job... this past july 24 however they sent someone to do my rug in my little apartment... It was ONE living room rug.. that was not that dirty to begin with but needed a cleaning regardless... the rug is neutral colors but mostly cream color so being light you can see perfectly whether it has been cleaned thoroughly.. they sent someone named carlos and sebastian they cleaned the rug within 5 minutes which i thought was odd because it usually takes 15 or 20.. after they were through i said to him the rug looks darker in spots and lighter in others.. He said "oh thats just because its wet.. when it drys it will even out" so... 200 dollars and 40 more for each workers tip later, i let the carpet dry and of course i was correct they did not clean it properly.. so i called stanley steemer and they told me "as a courtesy" we will send someone back to redo the room which they did 3 days later. the gentlemen came to redo the room and as they are going it over it again i can see a marked difference from the first time... But and However at the end of the redo there are still dark spots on my carpet mixed in with clean patches and the job again was not properly done.. I say all this to say that i won't be using this company again i will go elsewhere.. and its also important to note that when i asked for the 2 men who previously did an outstanding job on my rug i was told that neither of them worked there anymore.. So it seems like they have replaced experienced technicians and swapped them out for technicians who dont know what they are doing and perhaps need to wear glasses when they are cleaning carpets... Bottom Line.. won't be using them again! read more

I called Stanley Steamer about a week ago to clean a couple of area rugs. They did a great job! My rugs returned to their former colors. They no longer had a dingy appearance. They also deoderized them which left no perfumey smell at all but did remove the musky smell they had. I must say though that the customer service is what blew me away! They guys were incredibly informative and polite and they did not cut corners. They took pride in their work. I remember one guys name was Justin (sorry, forget his partner's name) but they were both great guys. Justin explained to me that they also did duct cleaning and tile/grout cleaning but was not pushy by any means. I got all the ducts cleaned in my house today. Again, superb service!!! Mike and Dimitri worked diligently for over three hours. I now have clean air blowing out of my vents! Yay!! And in a couple of weeks, I'll get them back here to clean my tile (more importantly, the grout). Great work, very reasonable prices. Highly recommend! read more

BEWARE!! I decided to call them since I thought they were going to be more professional than a small local operation. I requested services to get some area rugs clean and asked if they could be done on property which they confirmed. When the rep arrived, he mentioned it was going to be difficult and encouraged me to send them out, which was a lot more expensive, and of course the $99 special they promote on TV did not apply on my services. I explained that my concern was to have the rugs out for a long time since I have a toddler and the rugs are a good cushion for the constant falling. The rep told me the service normally takes two weeks but he would make a request to get it done in one week. I agreed to send them out since I knew the cleaning was going to be better this way. One week passed by and no one called me with an update. I called and the agent told me that the cleaning was taking longer than expected and I would get an update the following week. It is now over the two week period the rep told me it would normally take and I still haven't received an update. Definitely not the service I was expecting, not cheap and unreliable. read more
