Made an appointment on Thursday to have Stanley Steemer come and clean my carpet on Friday. The person on the phone assured me they would be out between 8:00am and 9:00am on Friday morning. I received a text that the technicians were hung up in traffic but on their way. Technicians had not arrived by 9:15am so I called customer service; after checking the C.S. Rep told me they'd arrive in 15-20 minutes; I asked to speak with a manager, who was about as obtuse as they come--no offer of a discount, I told him (Justin) I'd leave my reviews on social media. 9:45 still no technicians; finally they arrived at 9:50am. The technicians were good guys but repeatedly attempted to up-sell me on services. Last time I will use Stanley Steemer. My 5 year old grandson has better customer service skills than Justin! read more

I called and got same day service! I really liked having a quote done over the phone and feel totally comfortable with Stanley Steemers reputation. I have used Stanley Steemer 3 times in a year . Each time I had to call to have them back because of the bad job. The second crew always seems to do a good job and fixes what needs fixed. What's up with that? Is the first crew sent trainees? Also yesterday I was charged for a deodorizing treatment that they did not do! Had them back today,they recleaned the dirty spots from yesterday but since I did not want to empty the entire room again I only got half of my deodorizing treatment! I think I should be reimbursed for all charges. Using this company is a real hassle. Will not use them ever again! read more

Addendum - phoned 800 number at 6:25 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 to cancel appointment - "child" answered the phone - asked for her name and location - could not understand her name - asked her to spell it - Yadi - then I asked for location and she hung up on me. Phoned again and spoke with Jessica in Florida to cancel appointment. No cancellation number given to me. Website does not have e-mail contact. I am not comfortable talking with "800" young people for appointments, cancellations or information as they are only reading from a script. Literally the worst company ever. Treats their employees less than, works them to death, and genually does not care about their employees well being. I can't find myself to hire a company to clean my home who does not value their employees. read more

Corp office- this is a review for Joliet, IL- On 2/29/16 Stanley Steemer sold me an annual contract for $340 for three carpet cleanings over a year, and gave me quotes for steam cleaning the kitchen/panty/hall and another for steam cleaning the marble in the hall/bath as well as grout sealing. On 3/31/16 they cleaned carpets and did the extra work mentioned above for $477 (which strangely is more than their estimates for $362.40). Right after they left I went to put sealant on the Marmoleum kitchen floor and realized I had a huge job to re-clean all the edges and sweep up a full dustpan of debris that was shot to the edges by the steamer. It took me that night and the next morning to re-clean and reseal. Then in the daylight I saw the marble hall floor was shiny/not shiny in leopard spots so I had to call them back. They came back and cleaned again, and then it was mostly dull, with some shiny spots. I attempted to make it look better with more sealant, but the floors are not as pretty as they were before. Then a week later I went into the guest bedroom and discovered that they had damaged a bedside stand with two huge gouges in the top. Thus began a series of phone calls over four months and two visits from Stanley Steemer managers, who decided the cost was for repair for the (solid wood) bedside table was high enough for them to make an insurance claim. Over the next few months I was told that it was in the hands of insurance, so Stanley Steemer could not help with a resolution. Their insurance company called me three times over three months to get statements. I tried to get the resolution discussions back to Stanley Steemer. I offered to accept services in lieu of dealing with insurance, since they were not resolving the problem and I was out the repair cost and the extra services charges for bad work. Stanley Steemer said I had to wait for insurance. I asked for a refund of my contract since I would not be inviting them back if they would not resolve this. They said I had to wait for insurance. Over and over we had this discussion. The third time insurance called me they accused me of lying and said I could expect a $200 check but that is all. I cannot get the furniture repaired for $200 and that does not even address all the other problems. Weeks later I got a check for $150, which I returned to them. $150 does not come close to what they cost me. And still no one from Stanley Steemer will call me back. They did shoddy work (which I had to re-do one my hands and knees) AND they damaged my furniture. They could have resolved it by cleaning a few sofas and calling it even. read more

I hired Stanley Cleaners to clean the carpet at my home about two months ago. I live in Lake County area of OH. It looked beautiful after the job was completed. I recently noticed severe dirt spots on the carpet specifically on the stair carpet. In fact, it is the worse I had seen this...worse than before I had it cleaned, a year ago. I feel this was due to the chemical that they used to remove the dirt spot two months ago. This chemical is probably causing dirt to reform. All I can say is something has changed because my stairway is in the worse condition I have seen it in years. Stanley cleaners have refused to address the issue. We were given a 3 hour window (9-12) for the crew to show up...called customer service at 11:30 to see when they may decide to show up. I was told they were 10 minutes away from our house. That turned into 60 minutes later. One guy shows up 40 minutes late and doesn't finish until 2 PM. When asked if it was a busy day he said, "not really". All in this was a five hour ordeal...ironic when the customer service hold music was bragging about how efficient they were with people's time. No complaints about the actual cleaning but the time issue is bothersome...hoping its not a trend. read more

We had our hardwood floors sanded and finished yesterday. The guys were extremely professional and friendly. They did a great job and we love our "new" floors. They even took their shoes off when they had to walk on our brand new carpet. We would definitely use them again. Thanks, guys! read more

I have used Stanley Steemer for several years. I always find their teams to be professional, friendly and extremely thorough. The upstairs carpet in my house is 20+ years old and you'd never know it. We just had the Cleaners leave our home. They did an Amazing job!!! Absolutely outstanding!!!! My Wife and I were supremely impressed with the excellent work but, the customer service was phenomenal as well. The team of Mike and Mike (M&M) were legitimately concerned with my Wife's allergies and ensured that we were allergy free before they left. They were both very professional, polite and courteous. Staff was extremely helpful and respectful from the moment I made the appointment, the individual that called me tell me they were on the way, to the crew that sent me multiple pictures after the job was complete (I live out of state from the property we were having worked on). We thought they had cleaned the wrong room so they sent another crew the very next day to fix the mistake, but it turns out it correct in the first place. Id use them again in the future. I have never had my carpets cleaned, so I do not write this review with much carpet experience. Also, the carpets are still damp, so I can't say with 100% confidence what the carpets look like as far as previous stains and such. I can definitely tell a difference in some spots I know were stained before from my cats/cleaning spots. However, I write this review because I am very happy with the experience I just had with Stanley Steemer. First, the appointment was easy to make online. The windows are standard, but the availability was great. I could make an appointment for the next day if I had wanted. I chose the 9-12 window, putting in the special requests that I preferred a call ahead if possible so I could put my cats upstairs. Well, I didn't get a call ahead, but they came at 9:30, so I didn't have to wait very long within my window. They parked exactly where I mentioned in my directions, and the two employees, Cody and Edward, were professionally dressed, polite, and very friendly! They were considerate of me and my cats, informative, and friendly until the very end. I was very impressed with the customer service aspect of this whole experience. I'm sure the carpets will be great; they definitely look good and the furniture was replaced perfectly. The only complaint I have was that I did not get the special offer I was supposed to get upon cashing out. However, I also forgot to mention it and it was only $10 savings, so it's not a huge deal. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend this company, and especially those two employees, in the future. read more

Very poor service. The guy came to my house just marketed how to get more bucks by giving demo on other cleaning they provide. The cleaning completed in 30 minutes for 2 bed rooms, walkin closets and stair case. The darts were remain as it is on the carpet and when I said there is no difference between before and after, the guy said, you need to go for a new carpet... huh.. very bad service. .. Waste of money. Suggest not to go with Stanley, go for some local cleaner who provides excellent service. read more

He was polite and respectful of our house. he did a great job. I wish ir ecalled his name so we could ask for him again. This is the first time I used your company but definitely not the last. This company has certainly gone down hill. My husband and I have always used either MasterClean or Stanley Steemer, depending on their timing of specials and we've used them both a lot in the last 2 years. I have always thought that SS did a much better job than MC but they've always tended to be more expensive. This time we went with SS because of their special deal going on and boy what a complete rip off that was. These 2 very young gentleman come in and first of all they start tracking black wet snow all over the foyer ,foyer rug and down the hallway which is cream carpet. Don't they have like bootie covers to put over their shoes? I know it's winter but that would just be common sense to me. So then the one kid starts cleaning in the hallway and my husband has to stop him twice to tell him to start in the bedrooms and work his way backwards back down the hall so that he isn't retracting his black mess all over the place. He isn't in our bedrooms, which aren't big rooms at all, more than 5 minutes total and then we see him in the hallway again. Before we've even finished our conversation with the other kid, this guy says he's completely done. We should have gone to inspect everything before we paid them because this kid did an absolute piss poor job. There was still the same stains all over the carpets and even a piece of rice left on the carpet by our bed. Usually you can see those distinct sweeper lines too in your carpet when they're done but there were none of those. The carpet in both bedrooms weren't even barely damp. They were probably in our house no more than a total of 10 min. Now it gets even better. So my husband calls to explain the bad job they did and ask for a refund and they tell him a manager has to approve a refund so he waits all day for a return call but of course no one calls him back. On his 4th call to them which was 4 days later and now 4 times explaining what kind of job they did, he finally got someone who could approve a refund. Of course they tried to get us to do schedule a do-over but my husband finally got through to them that we just wanted our money back. It looks like we're back to MasterClean for good! read more

I live in Elgin Il. and had stanley steamer out 11/2 yr. ago. My carpets at the time where 5 yrs. old and the clr. is off white. I was told when they left that it would take a day to dry well the next day they were still wet did't dry til 2 days later and with a yellow cast all over. about 2 weeks later I notice some spots which started off light and 2 more weeks past they turned black a few of the spots are the size of the wond they use with drip marks around them and the other spots are long like when you use a sqeegy to clean window and you see all the water your pushing away with the dirt. I called them and they came out recleaned the spots and got the yellowing off 2 to 3 weeks after that the spots return called they tryed a clean dry cloth ad there spot remover with an iron , they also came back out for the same probem 2 more times and they tryed to get it out and could not they tryed everything and then they gave me my money back and said there was nothing they could do I told them that the spots were all over were ever they cleaned L.V. Office ,Closet an MB.. and that they ruined my carpets. They sent out a inspection company and the company called it wikking on the report. That what you get when you over wet the carpets. and the report also reads that it should comes off onces it is cleaned again. The carpets were cleaned 4 to 5 time by stanley steamer. and still having the problems . Yhey also would not do anything else. So I have hired a attorney to take care of this and they sent out there insurance agent and still nothing to this date now ther just ignoring the attorney letters. I have photos of all this. and the spots are just getting worst My carpets were in great shape no stain and I must say ther were not dirty at all I just thought after five yrs they could use a cleaning. Our dog was sprayed by a skunk and we called Stanley Steamer. We had a large window 12-6, but we called at the last minute. The technician kept us looped in that he would be late and gave us the option to reschedule. Due to the 'smell' - we kept our appointment. He was a solo crew. He worked exceptionally hard and was respectful. Our skunk smell is gone and I am extremely pleased with the service! Great job and I would recommend them again. read more

I had my carpet cleaned and let them talk me into letting them put a scotch guard-type spray to repel future stains for an additional $80....that was last August (7 months ago) and my carpet looks like it could use a good cleaning again. I have no pets and no kids...just me and the hubby (both retired). The carpet shouldn't need cleaned again this soon. I run around with socks on and they are filthy by the end of the day. Also last August, I had them clean my ducts. They charged a whopping $400 and told me it would take 4 hours to do (my house is a small ranch). They were barely there 1.5 hours and did a p*ss poor job (IMO). They didn't show me any before and after pictures like a previous poster said and they certainly did not change any filter on my furnace...probably because my furnace uses a $45 filter and not those $2 things from Lowes. They did not get into the ducts that were behind furniture and they didn't clean the carper under the bed or move any dressers or night stands in the bedrooms. I will NEVER let Stanley Steamer into my house again. read more
