Had living room and bedroom carpeting cleaned, also 2 chairs and sofa. Added super shield for all items, additional $120. Techs arrived on time, were polite. 3 days after it was done I moved my bed and vacuumed up at least a half cup of lint and dust after having a remodel done the week before. Having an incurable lung disease, I thought it might be wise to have my air ducts cleaned. $1,900+. When it came time to pay, one of the items had a tip box to be checked or not. I did not! This tip business has gotten out of hand as far as I'm concerned. It tells me that this company does not pay a decent wage to their staff. Service was ok, value not so much and quality is yet to be determined. Also, I feel that I was sold on something that might not have been necessary. Horrific cleaning outcome and OVERCHARGED. Our couch is maybe even dirtier than before SS came? Not only does our couch and living room chair not look any cleaner, there is even a new water stain on the couch cushion. Truly couldn't be less pleased with the outcome of the services. The technicians were very nice, but the cleaning is terrible. The carpets actually look cleaner, but my furniture genuinely looks no different and the couch looks worse. I want my money back. Scheduled an air duct cleaning with Stanley based on a contractor's observation. Scheduled online, but that became a free consultation. Service workers were on time. Had access to the whole house. About every 15-minutes they tried to upsell something. When I said no they'd ask my wife. My wife almost bit on some permanent duct addon for $1,000. They came in to pitch me with a 2-minute YouTube video on mold mitigation. They found a small area of potential mold between the second and third floor, which is on a central AC for the second and third floor. They wanted to add the device to the basement, which serves the first floor only. Those supply/return ducts never meet. When challenged they said I was right... and so we should install two devices in the basement. This doesn't obviously connect the ductwork. When challenged I was again presented with the YouTube video, we declined. I asked who was going to do the electrical and they said they'd take care of everything. But neither of them was licensed. We were told we needed to trust them. We again declined. This seemed to make them upset as that shut down conversations, until they were done. Once complete we were presented a tablet with an electronic invoice. It was open to a page to tip the workers. Both workers held their hands in front of their faces like they were praying, and appealed for a tip. I kicked them 10% because it was very uncomfortable. Their facial expressions were that of disappointment. Upon exiting, we received an email with the report it had approximately five before and five after photos. Nothing was numbered difficult to tell if we were looking at the same before and after locations handprints all over the ceilings and walls where they were working, they didn't clean up dust from removing and replacing screws on beds and floors and halls , all in all sloppy and uneventful If you choose to book a service with them, be sure to talk about all of these things upfront I would not hire this company again read more

Very bad experience. It was wet and muddy outside due to rain but they still kept coming in and out of my house with dirty shoes. They barely cleaned the carpets, it took them only thirty minutes to clean 3 rooms and the carpets were left wet and looking the same. During the initial cleaning, the employee cleaned both rooms and the stairs. However, during the subsequent cleaning on March 24, I was charged for three rooms because one of the rooms exceeded 300 square feet. When I called the company, they insisted that the room was 300 square feet and a definitive measurement, which contradicts what my contract implies. As a result, I ended up paying an additional charge for one room. Additionally, I purchased two rubber placement mats that Stanley Steemer advertised as being guaranteed for life. When I asked the employee to replace one of the mats, he informed me that they no longer carry that product. This was misleading, as the lifetime guarantee was a key selling point. After one more cleaning, I will be done with Stanley Steemer, despite having been a customer for 13 years. Goodbye! P.S. The employee was great. read more

I was extremely disappointed in their services when I called. I explained what kind of sofa I needed to be cleaned a very small L shaped sofa with a trundle. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and said he was gonna give me a $25 discount and quote me a price of $126 to clean the sofa upon arrival, the technician told me he could not do it that it was $240 so I had called to talk to someone on the phone about the matter. Explain to them the situation and they told me yes $240 is correct because it's a sectional however it is half the size of a normal sectional for a small space they told me they could give me $25 off and said they could do it for $215. I was very upset but had my back up against the wall as I had a tenant just move out who had a cat and I needed to have the sofa cleaned for the tenant moving in the following day. I will never use Stanley steamer again, nor will I recommend them to anyone you should honor the price that you give someone to top it all off the technician was in and out of here in 30 minutes and did just a fair job. Maybe they're just incredibly busy. Had a "free estimate" for duct cleaning, and the rep was very thorough. How thorough? I got invoiced for the job via e-mail between the time he left my condo and hit the door to the street. Service was scheduled a few days out, and a text confirmation was sent prior....and then nobody showed up. I called a service number and was told they were "delayed". (I kind of figured that out an hour after missing their four hour window). After 6PM - by now we were at a post- 7PM estimated arrival - I called to cancel and reschedule. Before I have even hung up my mirror or bathroom hardware or shower door I had Stanley come in to clean . The technician RUINED the new woodwork I had just installed . It was steam or water logged and expanded and the pAint came off . When I saw it when he asked me to look when he was done I asked him To leave before going on to the next room because I was so upset . The manager Carlo came to the house and apologized when he saw what had happened . For several weeks he did keep reaching out to see if the contractor had come by to get me an estimate to fix it . He did stay on top of it I will give him that. By the time the contractor came by and gave me the estimate I texted over to him and then he asked me why it was how much it was. I told him I didn't have an answer for that or why the estimate was possibly more than he thought but he told me he would submit it. Then he got back to me a few days later saying they want a more itemized bill. The bill was $350 and I am still waiting for my contractor to have the time to go over this bill and write it up they would not just send me a check over for it. Meanwhile it has ruined my whole bathroom having this woodwork ruined. I am so upset about it and they couldn't care any less trying to give me a hard time over what they could obviously see was your technicians fault and ruined they could obviously see also that the bathroom is brand new when I didn't do anything in it yet. Paid almost $300 for a hardwood floor cleaning that was quoted for $158. Not a big deal was willing to pay to have it done.... Once completed I came home to find my hard wood floors scratched in numerous locations. The couch was drug across the floor and it looks like there was a rock in their machine as there were horizontal scratches all over the place. Extremely disappointed to say the least. Update: Unfortunately the problem was never sold. We had a "manager" come out and look at our floors and to say they were less than helpful would be an understatement. When he was here looking at the floors we were told it was our fault that there was probably dirt under the feet of our furniture so when the men performing the work moved the couch it scratched the floor......???? The ENTIRE reason we hired Stanley Steemer in the first place was to get a professional job done rather than going on Craigslist and paying someone half the price to do it. As a "professional" you think you'd know enough to pick furniture, chairs, tables up before you move them. To make things worse the manager came and we never heard back from them. I have called three times, left messages with Maria and have not heard back for over two weeks. This is unacceptable and we have no choice but to report them to the better business bureau. I recently had three area rugs cleaned in place. The whole reason I called this company was because I did not want to carry them someplace but to get them cleaned in my home. The minute that the two cleaners walked in they asked if I wanted them cleaned or cleaned a lot better! Why would I call someone to partially clean them? I was told for three times the price they would take them to their shop and clean them like new. For that price I could replace all three of them with brand new ones so no thank you. They were done in about 15 minutes and I was told when they dry they will be brighter. They have now been dry for a week and they don't look any cleaner than when they started. I feel scammed and ripped off. I paid lot of money to have them spray my rugs with water and something to make them smell fresher. Never again! read more

I hired these guys to clean a bedroom carpet with walk in closet. The carpet had some pet stains and the closet had a badly stained area. I was told it would look better once everything dried. The "professional" cleaning yielded little improvement. Considering they were only here 1/2 hour, I'm not surprised. I decided to give it a try myself. I purchased a $5 store bought carpet cleaner and allowed it to sit a bit to let the chemicals work. I saw an immediate improvement, and even better once everything dried. Don't waste your money on Stanley Steemer. I'm in Melrose, called the 1-800 number to book an appointment to have 2 area rugs cleaned. My friend, who lives in Maynard highly recommended them and they charged her $1/per sq foot - the franchise in Marlboro would service her rugs. When I called, they quoted me $2/per sq foot. When I asked why, I was told my cleaning would come out of the Holbrook location and they charge more. No explanation -that's the way it is. I had 2 rooms scheduled for cleaning. The first thing the rep did was try to up sell me an additional $200. Next, they dragged their muddy hose through my house and upstairs without a care. They took no consideration to the carpet they were walking on and dragging mud on to get to the other rooms. They made one pass of the cleaner and was done BOTH rooms within a 15 minute span. Before leaving, the rep told me that one of the rooms was going to cost double because of the size but (of course) he is not going to charge me "this time". I scheduled an appoitment and chose the 8-1 timeslot. At around 10:45 I received a text saying I could track the technicians progress for an estimated time of arrival. The first eta was 11:15. I was thrilled. I checked at 11:15 and it indicated 11:45, this continued until the latest eta was 1:07! I had hired a dog sitter to watch my dogs while they worked and had to pay for them! 8/6/22 Today I had a service call to clean my carpets. 2 people arrived. The mature one of the 2 was wearing a mask. I gave a mask to the younger one and asked him to wear it while in my house. He just stood there and glared at me like I was an alien from outer space. He did not want to wear it. I insisted that he does while in my home. He took the mask and put it on but refused to cover his nose. Numerous times I asked him to cover his nose, He just kept staring at me and would not do it. I also gave them covers for their work boots so that would not bring in the outside dirt. I asked them to take them off when they go out and put them on again when they came inside. The younger one said ( in a condescending tone " What difference does it make, your rugs are dirty."} He walked out threw the mask on the ground and refused to come in under my terms. Not only do they have you block off 5 hours of your day for their "arrival window", but when the driver shows up, he tells me he's going to leave because he can't find parking nearby and won't park two blocks away (where it's literally free two hour parking). Why did I have to complete a customer intake questionnaire indication "I do not have parking nearby" and yet this was still an issue? When they got here, I met them out side to tell them to be careful because might be slippery. The young lady listened and had no problems. The other fellow, was so busy looking a his cell phone that he did not even know that I was there. As a result he slipped and fell.
