We noticed that there was a water spot on our closet ceiling with what appeared to be mold spots on…read morethe wall. Our homeowner's insurance would only cover the damage/clean up if the source of the leak was located. We contacted Americlean (because it had to be fixed covered or not) and they gave us an estimate to eliminate the mold. They came out and cut out several squares of dry wall that had mold on them, said they sprayed chemicals to kill any remaining mold, said they could not locate the leak. They left despite the walls still being spotted with mold. We contacted Americlean and they sent out a supervisor the following day. Although genial, he was unable to locate the leak and didn't really give us answers regarding the remaining mold spots. He mentioned sending someone out again. We waited several months and finally got a general contractor to come out and he was blown away by the situation, as he found mold spots on the remaining drywall and mold between the walls. He cleaned the remaining mold and treated everything with chemicals. The problem is now fixed and the drywall holes, etc have been remedied. We received no communication from Americlean til 5 MONTHS later, when they sent us an invoice. I called and asked why we were receiving a bill 5 months after the fact for work that was subpar and incomplete. They, of course, offered to send the supervisor out again, but we had already paid the general contractor to fix and finish the work. My husband wanted nothing to do with Americlean at this point so we declined the visit from the supervisor. Now we have a bill for $1700 for.....nothing?! This was extremely negligent and disappointing.
