If you have money to burn then you do not need to read this review. First off they ran late for the estimate, which cost me hundreds of dollars because I'm an independent contractor. I was so shocked to hear that they wanted to charge me $660 for a tiny 500 square-foot condo. I was just shocked. I asked them for some kind of a discount because I had suggested them to somebody else but even at a 15% discount they were the highest quote I've ever gotten. If you don't have money to burn you should try Gonzalez carpet cleaning. They were just here and did all of my carpets as well as my chairs and some throw rugs and the final invoice was only $180!!! They are the nicest guys and the cleanest and most conscientious guys and are worth a lot more so I hope they don't read this review! If you do have money to burn you're simply spending money on advertising and nice trucks, uniforms and commercials on TV. Cleaning is cleaning! I've used the service for years and made an appointment to meet the cleaners on a Saturday morning at 9:00AM. got there at 8:30Am because in the past they were very prompt but at 9:30AM (after waiting an hour) called the number and got what I think is a corporate call center and asked where the cleaners were, and they offered to reschedule it to Tuesday!! I said forget it and cancel the order and they said OK. No explanation or apology or offers to call the crew. This place has really gone downhill and in the past I got 5 star service. I already spoke to someone at corporate and left a message with them last week. One day later, I'm at work receiving 2-3 missed calls saying someone would be outside my home within 20-30 minutes to clean my carpet with no prior notice! Once I'm off work, I call back the number and leave a message, to never hear back from this person again. I take it upon myself to call corporate once again, and lodge the same complaint, still waiting to hear back from them, again.... We almost went with Coit to clean our carpets because they were having a 40% off sale (in fact, we had them scheduled). But luckily we saw the Asthma and Allergy Foundation's exclusive recommendation of Stanley Steemer, and canceled Coit. We're so glad we did. Elias and Jesse did a GREAT and THOROUGH job of our living room and 3 bedrooms. Because we have 2 dogs who sleep in the living room we had the area rug deordorized as well. Completely unprofessional. Called to set an appointment. They said they would be there the next day between 10-12. Called to see where the driver was at. Apologized. They told me the driver was not working that day and they would need to to reschedule? Complete waste of my time. Turned me over to the manager who was unbelievably horrible. They said they could drop the price to $99. I explained to him I already have a coupon for $99. The two reps I spoke with were completely professional and courteous. It's not their fault for the system mishap. Archie, the manager, asked me how he could help. I told him that this was extremely inconvenient and asked to drop the price. He said, "Do you think makes sense for us to go out there for that price. Go call someone else, buddy." What the heck? It's not the price or even the inconvenience. It was more to see if they were willing to take care of their customer. To even try to be polite. This place SUPER sucks. In fact, the ONLY good job I ever got from this company was the first cleaning they did for me, which prompted my original review. These guys are so far back in my rear-view now that I don't have the energy to make myself mad again thinking about how much they SUCK. Here are the highlights of the idiocy of this company though: * Kept hearing REALLY loud noises, like crashes, banging, and heavy stepping/running. Came out from the back of my house and found the two-man crew PLAYING BASKETBALL IN MY LIVINGROOM using my son's adjustable (and thankfully really sturdy!) kids' basketball hoop! Stupidly, I only insisted they stop. Should have thrown them out. In a separate incident: * Made appointment over phone. I mentioned their coupon that came in those monthly "super-saver" envelope things... they couldn't promise I'd be able to use it b/c of all of the various regional Stanley Steemer outfits. Might not be them, they said. I pointed out that I CALLED THE NUMBER RIGHT ON THE COUPON and was TALKING TO THE PEOPLE THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE at that very moment! How could it not be their coupon?! In the end, they didn't take the coupon (see below). * Showed above-mentioned coupon to the ACTUAL CREW that came to my home. They didn't want to entertain the idea that I might have a coupon to use. The head guy actually told me in a snarky dare type tone that he might have to adjust his cleaning to match the lower price if I wanted to insist on using it. WTF?! * After having used this same company a few times before, I get a crew suddenly show up and tell me they are going to charge the cleaning of my one multipurpose room as two separate rooms because of its size. I pointed out that the room had not grown since it was last cleaned, as rooms don't generally grow unexpectedly. I pointed out that my cleaning order had remained the same as always and that I assumed the quote they had given me for the exact same work as always would stand. The guy gave me such a hard time. Had to threaten to call his office right there and then to make a complaint. The guy lectured me about the maximum size of rooms they'd consider as standard/one room. The sq. ft. number he gave me didn't even match what was on their website! -- And it certainly didn't match what was on that frickin' USELESS fraud of a coupon I had!!!! Double WTF! * A complaint to Stanley regional (or corporate) didn't help. They couldn't believe their ears, thought my experience was insane, and told me they were requesting that someone in management from that franchise call me to see about making things right. Never heard a peep. Don't waste your time with these people! I came to find out that the exceptional crew I'd had on my first visit had long left the company for greener pastures. Geez. I never post a negative review, unless warranted! This is warranted. I called in with notice for cleaning, stating I wanted 3 rooms AND tile floor in the kitchen/family room. They did NOT do the tile floors and the technician said he knew nothing about them - IT CLEARLY STATES TILE FLOORS on the invoice. They were supposed to give me the cost and do them - they did not do either. When asked about this, they said they did not have time as they were late for another appointment, which was about 45 minutes away and they were supposed to be there in 15 minutes! So, what did they do wrong? they were late, with NO call to say anything. Then, they were supposed to clean the bedroom, closet, home office, living room - all relatively small rooms for a stated price. At least the price was as quoted - $159. they did a terrible job, my realtor had to bring in another company to re-do the job. They did all the spaces in about 28 minutes. There were spots left on the carpets, I was asked if I wanted treatment for pet odors, I did. I could have done a better job - and have in the past - than they did. They had the nerve to tell me that 30 minutes was all the time they allot to do any home! This and I actually had to pay them for the priviledge of letting them into my home. So for my 10 year anniversary with my employer I got myself a carpet cleaning maching. A Hoover. Nice little unit and for some reason, I love cleaning carpets so i went to work immediately. Things took FOREVER and it came out good, but days later, dirty again. Now mind you, the carpet here is that commercial crap but it lasts forever. My neighbors were getting their carpet done by Stanley Steemer and I looked at our poor fake grass in our place and thought, hey this could use a little sprucing up and I dont want to do it. Allow me to introduce Chris. I asked him if he could come by and give us an estimate and he was happy to oblige. Unfortunately the neighbors occupied all his time so he came by and asked me to call the office and setup an appointment for a estimate. We live in a 600 sq ft place and it was 149 to clean it all....i said sign me up....Chris came by a few days later and whipped us out a kwik esty of 149 bux. I jumped on that immediately. The results were absolutely fantastaic and has held up looking pristine. Not to mention he was in and out in no time. I called about a week before setting up my appointment because I had heard from some friends that they were offering a discount for people who were moving. The guy on the phone told me that they were planning on doing their moving promotion indefinitely, so I figured that it would still be valid when I called to make my appointment about a week later. However, when I called again to actually set up my appointment, the woman on the phone knew nothing about the moving promotion. When I actually called to set up an appointment with them, I was told that they would arrive between 11am and 2pm to clean my carpets. At 1:15 I received a phone call from the company saying they'd be here in thirty minutes. Not only did they not arrive at 1:45, they ultimately didn't show up until 2:15--after the three hour window that they had given me had passed. They did not apologize for their tardiness. This was very frustrating, as my boyfriend and I had plans that we were unable to make because of their lack of punctuality. The carpets looked pretty clean when they were finished, but they had missed some obvious spots that they should have been able to clean. I was able to get them out myself with dish soap and water, though I had just paid more than $200 for my carpets to be cleaned. I had also done quite a bit of searching for coupons online and had found a coupon that would've saved me almost $100. I presented it to the guys at the end of the service, but they said that because it was a corporate coupon that they wouldn't be able to use it. I know that Stanley Steemer of Rohnert Park is a franchise, but all Stanley Steemers are franchises! It doesn't make sense to me at all that they wouldn't be able to honor a corporate coupon when their franchise is a part of the corporation. I am always so happy that I called the Rohnert Park Stanley Steemer! The office staff is professional and helped me understand pricing structure and services. The service man called and gave me a heads up while they're en route, the service man showed up on time (on the early side of the given time window) and had a very professional demeanor. He was able to get up a couple of stains that I had struggled with and failed to remove. Yay! It's like having new carpets, at a fraction of the cost! Stanley Steemer was supposed to come on Tuesday. Never showed. I called and they said oops and gave me a $15 discount and scheduled another appointment for me on Wednesday. They spent MAX 5 minutes on the first dining room chair and said the water stains wouldn't come out. He said he put all 3 of their cleaners on the chair. So, obvy, their cleaners suck. Also, the lady on the phone who booked the appt said that their vacuum has enough suction power to lift an 8lb bowling ball. Fibber! The suction power of their machine wasn't much more than my little Bissell spot cleaner. They were here, at max, 20 minutes to clean 4 dining room chairs, seats and backs. One of the backs was only half wet. The chairs looked exactly the same, but wet. I went outside as they were packing up, and one of the guys was whining about how I was unhappy with their poor job. I used my little Bissell after they left and got out a good amount of soapy water. I didn't pay them, and even that cost too much. I'm not sure what their success rate is, but whatever it is, it's totally by chance. They obvy can't handle real dirt. Don't take a risk, go somewhere else! read more

I whole heartedly agree with James G. I called Carmen at Stanley Steemer and was given an appointment that very day. Archie and cohort showed up on time and proceeded to give me a price that was LESS than what Carmen quoted. They did a thorough job and really left things looking great. Again, cautious about walls and furniture and really sweet to my dogs (one a wild puppy). After a few days a couple of spots reappeared so I called Carmen and he was wonderful. Set me up with Archie who came back and fixed the spots quickly. Archie is a dream! He gave us advice about raking the pet hair and also how to apply and get the best results with the enzyme cleaner I was using for "puppy accidents. Scheduled an appointment online for Thursday between 11-2. Waited until 230 and called them. They informed me that there computer had me scheduled for Friday. I told them that I wanted them to come now and they said they could have somebody there by 5. At about 430 I got a call saying that they couldn't be there before 5 and could reschedule me for Friday between 11-2. On Friday at 130 I get a call saying that they will not be there until 3. They showed up, did the job and didn't offer any apologies for wasting my time. Based on this experience I personally would never recommend Stanley Steemer to anybody. A company should try and make things right when they mess up with the customer. read more

One reddish stain on the landing from a throw rug spread to adjacent stairs as if it had been dissolved in the hot water and deposited on other areas. Stains were not removed and new ones appeared. Not sure why this business has two listings in Yelp - one says Rohnert Park and the other says it serves the North Bay. In any event, I am posting my review in both places. We had a carpet cleaning appointment and they no-showed. No phone call to explain, no phone call the next day, never heard back from them. I left my job early the appointment day and waited all afternoon for them to show. Calling their local number I was unable to reach them. I phoned the main dispatch number whose computer showed the ticket was still open with the service not yet complete so we were in their system. Dispatcher in Florida tried for a few hours to reach them to no avail. Main dispatch phoned every number they had on file and could not reach anyone! The woman who was part of the parent company with which I spoke in Florida apologized profusely and said she wished there was something she could do. She said she would contact them the following day but explained that according to her view of their appointments, their next appointment was after a holiday the following day. I never heard back from them! Go elsewhere. There are lots of other carpet cleaning services in the North Bay to choose from. Wish I'd chosen one of them. read more

They came, started the work (which they said they could do in 1day), did not have enough supplies, so they left. They came back another day, still did not finish, then called the next day and said they would not be coming back - we should just have the floor refinished. The area rug was taken to remove and clean cat urine to be returned before TurkeyDay dinner...no rug for dinner. Finally got it back it didn't look or smell any differently. They came and collected it again. No rug for Christmas. Returned it still smelly and now... misshapen and stretched out. They came and took it again said it would be back in 3 days. I had made the appointment for them to clean my mothers carpet in her one bedroom senior unit. When they got there, the worker seemed to use a portable unit, one that is not hooked up to any van or water (as the carpet cleaners I usually see do) and kept scratching (and I won't what or where). When he was finished, the carpet was soaking wet and all of the dirt appeared to be pushed to the edges of the carpet so now there is a big black thick line of dirt around the edges of all of the rooms. I had called them to come back. All they did was put a very heavy loud turbine looking fan at her front door for a few hours, came back hour later after her having to try to move it. read more

Mario was here on time and did a great job on the rugs and his brother Archie came to help and with the both they did a great job there were 3 bad stains and they worked very hard to remove them but they were too bad but they look better than they were.
