On October 7, 2021 Stanley Steamer carpet cleaners of Saint Augustine Florida came to my place to clean an area rug that is 25 years old. It belonged to my mom, then my sister and now me. This rug had 25 years of yuck including dogs and cats mishaps. The most annoying was the smell of the cat urine of a male cat. The two guys that performed this cleaning were very nice guys really good to talk to I enjoyed their company. However, when they set up to clean this rug they were done with it in less than five minutes. This rug is 83 ft.² 10'10" by 7'7". There is no way you can tell me that this 25 year old carpet was cleaned in less than five minutes. I was totally surprised at how fast they did this. And I told them guys this thing can't be clean the response was oh yes it's clean. OK how long do I have to wait to bring it back into the house? They said give it a few hours OK I did. I brought it in and I started to smell the animals smell especially the strong odor of a male cats marking urine. I know this is very hard to get out that's why I had a professionals do it. So Friday the 8th I called and spoke to the supervisor named Darrell. This guy was rude and belligerent. He actually started arguing with me the customer. It got to the point where I said "would you please shut up so I can speak" he did so but it lasted a matter of seconds. He offered to come back do it again and then he said "I can guarantee you they'll be in and out of there faster than they were the other day". That's just told me one thing he didn't really care. So I said I'm not getting anywhere with you and I hung up. Saturday I went to Home Depot and rented a carpet cleaner. It took me 23 minutes to do the carpet and I videoed me cleaning it and I will post these videos along with my review. I took the water container from the cleaner and dumped it into my kitchen sink. The water was as dark as dark chocolate, it was filthy literally filthy. It had 25 years of yuck in it and it showed. I couldn't believe how dirty that carpet was yet. I called him up Mr. Darrell The supervisor at the Saint Augustine Stanley Steamer. Again he started arguing with me and I told him I want my $99.00 back. And he said "WE DON'T DO THAT! Just terrible customer service. Had scheduled appointment from 1-3PM and no show at 3:45 PM. Not even a call stating they will be late. Had to call twice and got the same response , that they are on their way. How can you run a business with such lack of respect for customer and their time. Proactive response would be to call sometime during the scheduled time range to let customer know they are running late but no not them. Like the first review states , do not hire. read more

Never use these people. After being told my tile would be "night and day" difference, it looked like it was never cleaned. Called to ask for a refund, the manager Darryl, was very rude, said we don't guarantee the work but we'll come back and try and reclean. Sent a second crew and the guy said "it is never a night and day difference when we clean"...really?? he said I will make up a solution so strong it will probably burn your lungs and you'll cough all night. Well that doesn't work either because we have three little boys in the house so we opted not to do it. Called Darryl the next morning and he couldn't have cared less, said they don't give any refunds. I would never do business with this place. read more

We just purchased a home and needed the carpets and tile floors cleaned. Called and an appointment was available for the date we needed. Our technicians were friendly and did a really good job. They even removed a green spot on the carpet that we didn't think would come out. We highly recommend this Stanley Steemer. read more

Unfortunately not a good experience. We contracted both grout and carpet cleaning services. The grout looks no better than it does when we bleach the floors so that service was definitely a waste of money. As for our carpet, it is less than three years old but due to having dogs we get pet order. The last two years we have cleaned and deodorized the carpet ourselves successfully. During the carpet clean my husband noted times areas were skipped (see photo) so he was going to tip less - that is until the technician insisted on a tip, which was unprofessional and resulted in no tip. The carpet in one room had a dirt spot were the dog lays on it which looked the same after they left. It was stated it would not come out. My husband used the Bissell and got it clean as well as got a bin full of nasty dirty water (see photo). The deodorizing is also not worth it. The deodorizer lasted all of about two hours and then we were overtaken by dog smell from skipped areas mixed with a chemical cleaner smell (combination of grout cleaner and carpet cleaner. Do not hire! Hired them to clean my floors for a move-out service they left the non-carpeted areas worse than they found them. Track leaves and debris in my front entryway & foyer without cleaning it. Called them a couple hours after the job, spoke with a Manager he immediately got defensive & argued with me that his guys would never do that. I advised that the empty house was professionally cleaned prior to and it was spotless. He stated they always wear booties and I advised that this was debris from the door being left open and the large hose and accessories used to clean the floors caused the mess. He then got rude and said the ONLY thing he could do was to send someone out in a WEEK to only vacuum it up. Highly disappointed in the way they do business. read more

Horrible experience with Stanley Steemer. They came to clean my sofa and left two cushions that still had spots. I called the technician and told him and he said to go through the office and he would come back. I told him I was going out of town and he said call when you get back. I called 12 days later and spoke to Darryl who is apparently the office manager. As other people have written here he is so very rude. Shouting, told me it's a myth the customer is always right. I was 2 days beyond the guarantee date of 10 days. I explained I was out of town, and no one told me there was a time limit. He said he would only come back if I paid again. I told him I would call the corporate office and he said don't bother, he'll get the complaint and his decision will not change. I called the corporate office and the man I spoke with called Darrell and tried to reason with him, and said he refused to budge. That he will not come back tor treat the cushions unless I pay again. i will never use Stanley Steemer again and I don't suggest that you do. Pay attention to these reviews. This man needs to be fired and someone with customer service, manners, and capabilities hired in his place. read more

For the most part they did a good job but after the man left and the carpet started drying I noticed orange spots on the carpet that weren't there before. A fairly large one in the living room and smaller ones in the bedroom. I will call someone else to come and fix it. read more

I hired Stanley Steemer do clean the carpets and tile in our home. I had them also seal the grout. They were very careful moving all of our furniture and made sure they had their foam under all of the furniture feet when they were done cleaning. The carpets look almost brand new and the tile shows all of its marbling again. I could not be happier! They will definitely be back again to brighten up our home! read more

Used this company to do my downstairs. Lots of pet stains and just needed an overall cleaning in my rental. I was very pleased. When calling other companies it got very complicated with all types of add ons such as special cleaning agents for pet stains. It just seemed they were not committed to getting stains out. Had an appointment this past Saturday to which no one showed up. Was told there was no such appointment and spoken to so grotesquely. The customer service at this company is absolutely disgusting. The "office manager" Beth was despicable. Not only did she constantly over talk me she was downright rude and hung up on me when I finally got tired of her interrupting me and yelled at her to stop talking to me the way she was. When calling back I spoke to a male who ended up being nice but was rude in the beginning. He told me they are TRAINED to match the customers tone... WTF?? Being in customer service for 24 years, writing and teaching a customer service course, he's dead wrong! Then when the tech Danny came out, his attitude matched Beths. I received 3 estimates when I was looking for a carpet cleaner to hire. Stanley Steemer of St Augustine was in the middle so I hired them. They were also able to make time for me that day. Dan and his assistant came out. They were both very nice and professional. The work was top notch ! A month later I needed a copy of my bill to submit to the property manager. The Stanley Steemer online procedure for ordering service is awesome and deserves 5 starts. The two employees sent to provide carpet cleaning service, showed up on time and properly introduced themselves before entering my house. They were NOT wearing protective masks and didn't seem to care much for social distancing. When I told them, the rooms were upstairs they didn't seem happy which I can understand. When bringing their tools in the house they were not careful enough and a few minutes after they went upstairs I checked on a flower bed close to the entrance and the hose they were using dragged 3 of the plants down. My wife as well asked them to be gentler on the floors/walls while dragging the hoses. After the setup, it took them less than 20 minutes to finish both rooms. When we checked the carpet, they looked darker than before the cleaning. At the time of payment, I said that I was not going to pay unless a supervisor was sent to my house to show him a job that didn't look completed at all. One of the employees immediately told me that if I don't pay for their service right there and then he will need to call the Sheriff's office. At that point I told him that he will either get me his supervisor or go ahead and call the Sheriff's office. He said that he was going to try to call his supervisor but most of the time he was not able to get a hold of him. I was lucky, and his supervisor was on the phone a few minutes later. The supervisor took the time to explain that we needed to wait at least a couple of days after the carpet completely dries before seeing a difference and after they dry, if we were still unhappy with the job then he will be sending somebody to take a look. Funny part and what I wanted the supervisor to see with his own eyes, is the number of particles left behind, like threads, hair and dust on the carpet which makes you wonder what kind of vacuum system this "professional" cleaning company is using. What I could not get my head wrapped around was the fact that there was an empty cardboard box in one of the walk-in closets and they did not move it, they cleaned around it... The employee mentioned at some point that what they offer is only sanitation service and they don't care about the final appearance... Continuing with the phone conversation, the supervisor clarified that the service fee needed to be collected right then and there otherwise the Sheriff's office needed to be involved since they have provided a service and disregarding if i liked or not the result, they still provided the service. At this point I paid and hoped for the best. After the carpets dried they definitely looked better than when wet but I'm still wondering why the employee did not convey that message before offering me a Sheriff's office phone call? I think it is called poor customer service and threatening customers is not the right way but if necessary, should be left as a last resource. My final words are that the carpets look OK but I had to do vacuuming one more time to pickup all the particles left behind by their professional vacuum system and we had to clean the area were the box was standing, to make it look even with the rest of the carpet. read more

After 46 yrs of serving customers, we bought a retirement condo on April1. On April 2, the very next day, this company cleaned my carpets and tile. That night, the tiles started popping up from the floor. After reading their website claiming their expertise and assessment ability, this was the first time I used them for tile cleaning. I have called the local office and we are waiting for a response. The franchisor's website shows no avenue for negative customer feedback, only testimonials.If they fix it professionally, only then will I write a testimonial or continue using them. read more
