If you're looking for something and they've rearranged items, all you have to do is ask--they're always happy to help. The prices are reasonable. Sure, I know another place where I can get Krazy Glue as a two-pack for the same price, but I still choose to buy my glue, housewares, and other supplies from Gantry. There is a $5 minimum purchase at checkout, so keep that in mind. Many hardware stores have a minimum anyway, but it's always good to check ahead of time. The store is well organized, although sometimes there's so much to look at that you come in for one item and walk out with several others--haha. Overall, this is a great location for hardware supplies, small repairs, and even some plumbing projects (wink). Tap-to-pay is available, and of course, cash is accepted. Neither had. But NY Replacement Parts did! Dorian took just one look at the old part sauntered next door and returned with a pristine new piece. Willie his wonderful coworker even fitted it with a screw that was needed but had broken in the old one, so the handle would be able to be tightened onto the stem. Such camaraderie amongst the guys working there! I recall several years ago needing a faucet handle that no one else seemed to carry and they had it! While later found online for 1/2 the price, it was absolutely worth having these gentleman tell me what part I needed and receive it at that time so we could get our shower working again as I there was no easy way to determine the exact part I needed. I went to Lexington Hardware; the guy told me he has the key which is "almost the same" but no identical. It was too big; it does not go in; i went back to Lexington hardware, the guy polished a little and gave me the money... the key went in tightly.... i think i need to find the same key! so, i searched online; i called Rainbow Locksmith at 338 E 65th street; the guy answered my phone is Joe, he said he has it. i went there.... he found a key but does not say the same things. But Joe told me this is the key!!! I paid big money over $10 with tax; i came back home, checked, it worked very nicely (although it may still be not identical). it is good enough!!!
