Fun bar to hit before a Yankees game! Gets you hyped and ready to rally! Cool set up with standing room only inside. Fun music too! Outside seating, come early if you wanna hang!

Stan's is a South Bronx icon. It's almost a pilgrimage for any Yankees fan. But this, this is the World Series and I wanted to get the experience. I walked in to get my tab going so I can enjoy my time (well, before game 2 started). Walking in, INSTANTLY hit by Yankees history. Seeing some of the pictures threw me back into memories of seeing games on TV with my grandfather and my dad. It felt right. I ordered my beer and it was a good one! Stan's Pilsner. You can only get it there and the brewery, that's it. Definitely a solid beer. I found my spot at the bar and had a couple before ordering chicken tenders and fries (the menu is limited, but they're good with it). A simple chicken tender (I'm thinking Tyson, by the seasoning. Can't go wrong with that), and fries. I ordered it and it came to me screaming hot in a flash (literally 1-2 minutes). The staff is top notch. Always asking if I needed anything. Friendly, and the best of the best. I don't know what to say about ambience. It's a sports bar for Yankees fans. It's perfect. The pennants of past World Series championships, the mural of past and present Yankee greats, it's astonishing. The only drawback is the super tiny bathrooms, but it's NYC, it's expected.

Tried to go to Yankee Tavern before the City, AC Milan match but it was small and crowded. Stan's was the bar my boyfriend researched and wanted to visit. We were very happy when we walked in and it was not crowded. I also liked that the crowd was mixed with both sets of fans. Nice outdoor space too. Drinks were a bit pricey, fries were okay. Bartenders were great, very friendly.

Sure, everyone wants to get some brewskies from the infamous Stan's when catching a ballgame, but you really shouldn't miss out on the hot dogs and fries. Look at the picture--and enough said.

What a fun place with tons of history and such great energy all around. this bar is located directly across from the "original" house that Ruth built! Across the way is this beautiful field where you see people walking and spectators sitting on the bleachers with a baseball game going on. The bar is simple and serves both food and beverages. They provide fast service and a friendly New York style attitude! A couple of beers and we were off and ready to see the game....

I ate here once before and the food was okay, what you can expect at a bar. However, the service usually is okay and not terrible. Today, I had a terrible experience. We walked into a bar that was mostly empty. I have bartended for 10 years in hottest NYC night clubs like Tao, PHD, and 230 5th rooftop to name a few, and this place was dead. However, I just wanted one drink and to go on with my night. I was at the end of the bar with my cousin, she tried to get the bartender's attention and failed. After 15 min, I decided to try. I ordered drinks with her twice, 2 don julio reposado with Red Bull. Something that takes less than a minute to do. I then watched for another 20 min how she took other people's orders and did them instantly while we were still waiting. The men that were next to us told her that they wanted to pay for our drinks and she ignored them as well and walked off. I then went to the other male bartender, Jurgen, and order my drinks with him while explaining that the girl had been ignoring us for a while. I attempt to take a picture of her to give a complaint to the manager as I didn't know her name, and she saw me and snatched my cell phone and told the security guard to kick us out. The male bartender said he was the manager and told the security guard to kick us out. I realized that this Indian guy seemed to be the manager and I stopped him and explained what was happening. He then allowed us to stay and gave us the drinks on the house. He was really nice and made my night better. To the El Jefe manager if you want to hire a REAL bartender with REAL NYC experience. That can make 10-15 mixed drinks in two minutes, and does not discriminate (because this is what it felt like, like she was just hating on how absolutely gorgeous we were and didn't want to serve us) against gender, beauty, race, etc and will get you really good Google reviews, fire her and hire me part time. And also, two drinks here cost $63 which is insane for uptown. Jurgen made sure to add automatic 20% after the bad service he provided :) I added photos to show how slow it was and she still ignored us for 30 minutes when we were just trying to pay for drinks. UNREAL!!!

It's an interesting mix of classic American bar energy with a Peruvian twist, which makes the menu way more fun than your typical pub. Even though it was packed for the holiday, it never felt overwhelming. Lively, but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy your time. I lucked out and found Broken Skull by Steve Austin here--funny because I'd been searching for it everywhere and almost ordered it online. If you're into craft beer, definitely give it a try. Didn't go for Taco Tuesday this time ($25 unlimited tacos is tempting), but I spotted birria ramen on the menu, which already guarantees I'll be back. Food-wise, the mushroom burger was the star--perfectly cooked, juicy, and rich without being too heavy. And the fries? Crispy, golden, dangerously addictive (and I'm picky about fries). Service was warm and attentive despite the crowd. Overall, a fun, easygoing spot that somehow balances energy and comfort. Definitely coming back.
