Wings and we'll done fries worth a subway ride
    Greg C.

I came here for bar food and had low expectations but that's far from what I got. Timing to be seated seemed like it was going to be quite the wait because the place was slammed but it turned out better than any 5-star I've been....Chaos at the street where diners and boozers are building up for the game ahead, the host grabs a name from you nearly audible over the L we are perched below. You think you're never getting a table... minutes later seated , seconds into the wait drinks are ordered from you, and literally as you get comfortable, they're served. You order off the limited menu thinking bar grub.. it's all served hot and as requested. Well done fries nailed and wings falling off the bone in a hand made sauce that sticks (so damn tasty it caught me off guard). You need to visit pre and post game. It's a NY thing.

Fun bar to hit before a Yankees game! Gets you hyped and ready to rally! Cool set up with standing room only inside. Fun music too! Outside seating, come early if you wanna hang!

Stan's is a South Bronx icon. It's almost a pilgrimage for any Yankees fan. But this, this is the World Series and I wanted to get the experience. I walked in to get my tab going so I can enjoy my time (well, before game 2 started). Walking in, INSTANTLY hit by Yankees history. Seeing some of the pictures threw me back into memories of seeing games on TV with my grandfather and my dad. It felt right. I ordered my beer and it was a good one! Stan's Pilsner. You can only get it there and the brewery, that's it. Definitely a solid beer. I found my spot at the bar and had a couple before ordering chicken tenders and fries (the menu is limited, but they're good with it). A simple chicken tender (I'm thinking Tyson, by the seasoning. Can't go wrong with that), and fries. I ordered it and it came to me screaming hot in a flash (literally 1-2 minutes). The staff is top notch. Always asking if I needed anything. Friendly, and the best of the best. I don't know what to say about ambience. It's a sports bar for Yankees fans. It's perfect. The pennants of past World Series championships, the mural of past and present Yankee greats, it's astonishing. The only drawback is the super tiny bathrooms, but it's NYC, it's expected.

Tried to go to Yankee Tavern before the City, AC Milan match but it was small and crowded. Stan's was the bar my boyfriend researched and wanted to visit. We were very happy when we walked in and it was not crowded. I also liked that the crowd was mixed with both sets of fans. Nice outdoor space too. Drinks were a bit pricey, fries were okay. Bartenders were great, very friendly.

Sure, everyone wants to get some brewskies from the infamous Stan's when catching a ballgame, but you really shouldn't miss out on the hot dogs and fries. Look at the picture--and enough said.

What a fun place with tons of history and such great energy all around. this bar is located directly across from the "original" house that Ruth built! Across the way is this beautiful field where you see people walking and spectators sitting on the bleachers with a baseball game going on. The bar is simple and serves both food and beverages. They provide fast service and a friendly New York style attitude! A couple of beers and we were off and ready to see the game....

Well, I had decided to go here for my birthday back in 2020 when The Pandemic had happened so, I ate outside, I never made it inside. When Covid happened a lot of changes because I had to scan the QR code on the back to get the menu because to limit contact between others. The service was spot on , they were attentive. Now the food and drinks I had was ice water. A Pina Colada I've never had, but was disappointed because they watered down, I didn't taste any alcohol. I just had cheeseburger and french fries , which I couldn't finished. I also a fish taco which I never had before and it was delicious and I knew that they used fresh grease because of how they looked. I would go back out here for two reasons to check out the inside and for those fish tacos.

The awning keeps you shaded from the sun while you enjoy the open air, which made for a really relaxed and enjoyable afternoon. Cold beer, great bar food, and a laid back vibe -- hard to beat. It's an interesting mix of classic American bar energy with a Peruvian twist, which makes the menu way more fun than your typical pub. Even though it was packed for the holiday, it never felt overwhelming. Lively, but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy your time. I lucked out and found Broken Skull by Steve Austin here--funny because I'd been searching for it everywhere and almost ordered it online. If you're into craft beer, definitely give it a try. Didn't go for Taco Tuesday this time ($25 unlimited tacos is tempting), but I spotted birria ramen on the menu, which already guarantees I'll be back. Food-wise, the mushroom burger was the star--perfectly cooked, juicy, and rich without being too heavy. And the fries? Crispy, golden, dangerously addictive (and I'm picky about fries). Service was warm and attentive despite the crowd. Overall, a fun, easygoing spot that somehow balances energy and comfort. Definitely coming back.
