I would say that Armen is a funny character and also a savvy business man. I think his prices are on par with other tailors but don't hold me to that since I don't have a lot of experience. He was able to alter 2 suits and 2 gowns for me in expedited time! I didn't even know he did womens wear. My gown was sequin, and it came out great. We brought in a tuxedo bought somewhere else, and he didn't try and push a sale of one of his own. I don't want to suggest bringing in last minute work, but if you do need it - he's your guy. Unless it's prom or wedding season, then you're just sol! All in all, I highly recommend Armen if you don't mind trekking up to Manyunk. I didn't want to go into the city and be treated like second rate citizens. Very happy with his work!

Shirl is also very responsive and I knew I was leaving my dress in great hands. Since Shirl started making her own dresses before she started altering them, she really understands how to adjust a dress in the most flattering way possible, and is a true expert at what she does. A huge bonus is that Shirl has an amazing sense of humor (dry and glorious!) which put me at ease during my fittings. I had plenty of options closer to me when I chose who would alter my dress, but am very happy I made the trek from South Philly to see Shirl!

Totally serviceable, friendly, quick, affordable dry cleaning in center city. Prices are normal in my opinion - i pay $15 per two piece suit from time to time and $20 once for silk bedding. I like that they are open till 6PM for the after work crowd. Both times I've come in I was seen almost immediately, and the attendant was kind and helpful. They also do alterations although I've never used that service. Usually get a two day turnaround here, although they mentioned you can rush for an additional fee. I'm quite enthusiastic about this place, and it's nice to find a dry cleaner that is consistent and effective! One really important note is that the hours listed on Google and Yelp are not quite accurate. They are open for full service from 8AM - 6PM Monday thru Friday. The rest of the time, 6PM - 10PM Monday thru Friday, and Saturdays & Sundays 8AM - 10PM are only open for drop off, so you can use a drop box (like a library book return) for self-service drop off.

When it comes to dry cleaning no other compares to Stanton Custom Cleaners. I've been going there for over 10 years for quality service. The owner Jack takes special care of his customers and provides the most professional service. The prices are the best around and so is the quality of service. I've brought clothes there that were stained and was told by other cleaners could not be removed. This was not the case with Stanton Custom Cleaners. Great experience. My shirts were cleaned spotless. That wasn't what impressed me the most. So a tie that I knew probably couldn't be cleaned, which when I came back the owner told me it could not be saved. The owner then asked me if I would like a red tie to substitute the one I just lost. I thought it was just a sales pitch, not knowing the owner and his character. I politely declined and then the owner went back and pulled two red ties for me and gave them to me for free!! I never used to purchase clothes that needed to be dry cleaned and when I did they just hung around in a bag never to be worn again. Stanton is a few steps from where I live and not only do they do an incredible job, I find myself wanting clothes to be "dry clean only" so I can do less laundry and visit Jacques at Stanton :) fair pricing, incredible service and quick turn around. I had no idea what to do with my beaded wedding gown. The train was filthy from dragging in the dirt. Because of the beading it wasn't an easy gown to clean but when I got it back it looked almost new! Thank you for your kindness and for taking the time to carefully clean my wedding gown. I offered to save her the hassle and just not come back starting from today, since I'll never take my business there again. I find it to be incredibly rude and poor business to talk to customers this way. Instead of years of future business they've ensured that I'll never go back again, and will recommend others to do the same. If you like good customer service, do yourself a favor and use one of the many other cleaners in the area instead.
