After having such a bad experience at this location on Patton Avenue with my daughter and I we reached out to file a complaint against the store and the so-called Dr campen that is supposed to be the in-store ophthalmologist. We reached out to the corporate office to file the complaint, But again we keep getting the runaround so we reached out to the national board of ophthalmologists to also file a complaint against this location and the so-called MD Mr campen , but after they ran his license number they told us that his number was not in their system. This is such a scam and if this turns out to be true I hope this store is shut down and this fake MD ophthalmologist Mr campen is thrown in jail for practicing Ophthalmology without a license. I've added a photo of his name and license number that is printed on the bottom of the RX we received. The RX we received was completely wrong and we're told that my daughter had a negative seven focus and one eye and no other problems. The thing is-7 is legally blind in one eye but two days prior when we were at the doctor with my daughter complaining of a headache, she did and across the room eye exam and was told she had 20/20 vision. Now we are in a huge mess with insurance that will take 40 to 90 days to come back to us . now we have taken our daughter to another ophthalmologist for an eye exam where she was given results of having a slight stigmatism and that's it. So now we are left to go and purchase glasses and frames out of pocket . Stay away Mr campen was in the store that day but we still had to do a webcam based eye exam. The exam was given by the same Indian woman who speaks bad English over a webcam in a closed room. Also this campen guy never introduced himself as Dr campen. read more

This was my first time doing business at this location, recommended to me by word of mouth. What really sold me to give this place a try was the deal at the door. Two pair of glasses with an free eye exam* at $59.95. As a person that has used a previous pair of glasses for the past 3 years, also meaning a 3 year old prescription, I was in need of an upgrade. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment, was greeted, showed around, and signed in before I knew it. The doctor was very easy and friendly to talk to. The exam took about 10 minutes with no hassle. The associate that helped with the hunt for glasses was really friendly too. I found 2 pair after some questions and calculations were made because I was on a budget and don't have insurance at the moment. +Plus+ Very Friendly Staff Fast Checkup On Day Delivery Budget Friendly +Minus+ *The selection of 'Value' eyewear was much to be desired which is the only way to meet the advertisement of $59.95. Many will use their glasses for years after a checkup like mine and I believe you'll want okay or decent looking spectacles on your face for that time. The value selection was neither of these. Many pair of glasses (that look okay/decent) came out swinging no less than $100 and this is without any bells or whistles. Needless to say, I spent more than I expected. Bright side, the gentlemen that dealt with my budget problems went above and beyond to make me a happy customer and form a relationship for future business. I went to Stanton Optical 2 weeks ago with my 2 teenage kids to get our yearly eye exams. I'd heard great things about this place, but we've always used our local optometrist, not a chain store, I was a little leary. I was absolutely shocked to see the selection, so many designs to choose from. The staff was very friendly and accomadating, as I've already mentioned 2 teenage kids shopping for glasses. Uggg! But we were helped by a young lady, Abby. And she was very patient, to say the least, I think at one point my daughter had 25 pairs in her hand..lol. The exam itself was more thorough then we'd received in the past and the doctor explained everything afterwards. He did a great job putting us at ease. We sat down with Abby and she successfully got my finicky daughter to narrow it down. The prices were fantastic and we ended up purchasing 2 pairs each, something sophisticated for day to day ,school and work, and Abby suggested something FUN, and that was awesome! My kids glasses were done in an hour. We went and grabbed some lunch and by the time we returned they were in hand and perfect. I went with the progressive lenses I just got mine yesterday , and what a great product. It's safe to say we will be going back. And I haven't stopped telling my friends, Check them out! read more

After my glasses got chewed up by a dog I needed replacements ASAP. I didn't have an appointment but went hoping they could squeeze me in. From the second I walked through the doors I was treated with respect and understanding. I didn't have to wait for more than 20 minutes before being seen by Dr. Michalove. He was amazing. I felt comfortable with him from the start and was able to ask him questions and explain myself without any feelings of being rushed. He explained the entire process as we went which was great because I felt as if I were being treated as a human and not just a set of eyes with no brain. The entire team was upbeat and readily available for any help or questions I had. Even when it came to prices, there was no pressure on going one way or the other. I know people complain about prices and such no matter where they go but I have never gotten an eye exam, two nice pairs of frames, and lenses (with add ons) for such a great price. Recently I had the opportunity to have my eyes examined by Dr. Michalove and my glasses were fitted by Mr. Michael Metcalf. First let me say that it was a pleasure going to a company that obviously is not driven by the almighty dollar treating me like a number and just trying to hurry me out the door. Like cattle!!! Both of these gentleman took the time to insure I received the care I needed and I never felt rushed. All my questions were answered and I am looking forward to getting my first pair of progressive lenses. It's nice to know you go to a larger company and still be treated by professionals who really do care. I defiantly will be referring anyone who comes my way needing such services! When I look at the bad reviews and there are some It is clear they are a by-product of the city in which they live...Dysfunctional! I experienced none of their problems... First time going to Stanton Optical for myself.. They greeted me at the door with a very welcoming attitude!! Pleasant and very helpful!! I had an appointment at 930 but I got there early and they took me right back after only a few minutes of waiting.. The first guy I interacted with was very nice!! The doctor then came in and checked my eyes even more which made me even happier he was very thorough with the eye examination and even talked to me about any concerns I might have with my eyes!! I know that's what his profession is but he went above his duty to make me feel like a person!! Then we have Richard who helped finalize the sale!! He was majestic!! Upbeat, and very personable!! I was in dire need of new glasses and an eye exam. I've been putting it off for awhile now, so last week I decided to stop by the new Stanton Optical in University Commons after work. I'm very glad I did. The staff there is very friendly and knowledgeable. I was assisted thru my exam, eye glasses selection and purchase by Sonya, Alex, and Jacob. I've always been skeptical and apprehensive about the whole "optical" experience, but they totally put me at ease. I've been to just about every optical shop in town and previous visits elsewhere normally put me into "sticker shock," but the prices at Stanton are quite reasonable. Give them a try! read more

When I arrived,I was greeted by everyone very nice. I am handicapped and in a wheelchair, so getting things adjusted to administer the tests needed before my eye exam was, well difficult. A very patient young man name of Jordy was extremely helpful and very friendly. As well my wife also was there to purchase glasses a young lady named Melinda helped us with the purchase she showed a very good approach to the process. I have had eye glasses since I was 5 years old. I am now 63, let me tell you, everyone makes you feel right at home. Starting with Alisha she is so sweet and lovely. Doctor Quill takes his time with you he new just what to do with my double vision while driving. Steve was a wonderful addition, knows his stuff. Lyndsay I just love her. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend these folks. The team was professional, friendly, and exceeded my expectations. Dr. Michalove gave me a great eye exam and Steve and Nicole made sure that I got the frames I wanted at a very reasonable price. The eye exam and 2 frames (with extras, i.e., progressive, transition, etc) was less than I would pay for an eye exam and one pair with no extras elsewhere. I had a wonderful experience at the Asheville, NC location. All people involved were very knowledgeable and helpful. Lyndsay Holmes was the last person that I dealt with to find my glasses. She worked with my insurance and got me the best deal that could be allowed. We laughed and talked like we had known each other forever as we hunted for the perfect pair of glasses.
