Stanton Optical in Beavercreek - WARNING I was quoted 10-14 days for two pair of glasses. After 18 days, only one pair of glasses arrived. After four weeks, the second pair had still [not] arrived. The first pair prescription seemed off. So I asked for a recheck. The result was a new prescription for both pair of glasses at which time Stanton Optical re-order the pair from their lab. After a period of time, I called to check on the progress of the new glasses. They quoted me another two weeks before they would arrive--it had already been over a week. I drove to the store and asked for a refund. They refused at first until I became angry. The manager gave in and refunded my money for the glasses, but told me that I could not receive a refund for the eye exam of which I never received a prescription to take somewhere else. This is only part of the problem. When I asked for my refund, the sales manager told me that she cannot issue refunds, only the general manger can. I asked where the general manager was and she said that he was not in that day. When I raised my voice, the general manager came out of his office. This proved that they were trying not to refund my purchase. My horrible experience does not stop there. In fact, during my first checkup, the doctor talked to me about pornography on the television in the lobby. I am not sure what he was trying to say, but I do know that I was uncomfortable with a professional having me in a dark room talking about pornography. The technician had horrible breath and the restrooms were nasty. I went to Eyemart a week later where I received outstanding service and my glasses in about 2 hours. I also want to note here that the glasses that I received from Eyemart brought perfect clarity to my sight, unlike Stanton Optical's. The Attorney General of Ohio is filing a suit against Stanton Optical for complaints from several other customers--primarily for not delivering on purchases. You can search this on Google. If you value your time, think twice about scheduling with the eye Drs at this location. The 1st time, they were 45 minutes behind and I left. The Sales manager was apologetic so I made a 2nd appointment. My appointment was at 9:15, the Dr arrived at 9:30, obviously late for work, and still had not call me in the room by 9:45. Totally unacceptable. I drove from Miamisburg, where I live, to Beavercreek twice! I went to Sam's Club In Centervilee, my appointment time was honored and the Dr was professional and staff very helpful. read more

I was very disappointed. The girls that checked us in as new patients acted like we interrupted them while having a personal conversation and drink their drinks in the reception area. They gave us our paperwork and left into a room leaving the tech to guess whata goin on. After waiting 20+ mins we were finally taken into the dr office/room. He was ok, thought he was funny but really wasn't. Definetly wasn't in any hurry. So we were told to pic out frames. Remind we are new to this experience. We stare around like where to start. After a few mins of wondering around I finally said something. The lady pointed to the 2 walls that my daughter could choose from. Not a great selection no name brands which is ok until you get the finally cost. We sit down do the final.paperwork and WHOA... my buy one get free is now $359. She added in the these extra fees and costs. One which was not needed and cost another $60. That's when I was like it's not even name brand and my daughter wasn't in love with them. Smh now were here to pick up, get the glasses home and realize that the lens dont fit the frames and is very loose. So here I am having to take these glasses back for repair. We got a customer service call about our experience and once I told the girl it was a bad experience she wasn't interested in anything i had to say. Just reminded me i have a 30 day warranty. So I will NEVER go back to them nor will i recommend them. read more

The only reason they get 2 stars is because the girl that gave the eye exam was very friendly! Everything else was awful! They told me that I would have my glasses within a week & it took 4 weeks. One pair was good to go, but the other pair had 3 scratches on one of the lenses. I showed it to them & they said it would be fixed in 2 days. I came back to pick them up & they were still there! It took them another 2 weeks to have them fixed. Go somewhere else to get your specs. read more

Horrible Service! I had to be Rechecked by Lens Crafters I went for a quick eye exam for an extra pair of glasses to take out of the country. Most other providers were booked for a while. Once in the exam room I found out the person was in some remote location/country. They did the exam and I didn't want the glasses because they don't carry the brand names I wanted. I wanted the prescription to take to Lens Crafters. AFTER the exam they made me wait about 30 minutes to get the prescription. Then the lady said my eyes dramatically changed. I asked how that could be because my existing glasses work perfectly and I am on the computer 8 to 10 hrs a day. No problems. So the lady said she would recheck it. Then I had to wait to go back into the room with the screen to be re-checked. Then the lady said the prescription was closer to mine but just a little different. So I went to get my glasses at Lens Crafters with my prescription and when I picked them up, they were so blurry I couldn't see anything. They said one part of my eyes actually got better but the others were really much worse. I said again, how could this be. I just wanted an extra pair to take out of the country. Lens Crafters were very helpful and said to go get another check with someone else and they would remake the glasses no problem. I went to another Lens Crafters and the Dr. was very helpful. He listened to me and provided an exam which fixed both the eye changes and the position of the glasses on my eyes and I didn't have any problems with the new glasses. Thank you Lens Crafters. Stanton sent me an email with no word with my old prescription after the fact and didn't respond to me when I said I wanted my money back. I rarely write reviews like this but they are horrible. Excellent selection in an upbeat, modern space, but that is where the niceties end. Customer service is deplorable. I ordered my glasses on a Tuesday and was told they would be ready on Thursday or possibly Friday of the same week. I was told they would call when they were ready. No call by Friday, so I called them. A harried sounding employee said he was too busy to check, so he took my info. and promised to call me back. No call. On Saturday, I call again. Get put on hold by a very rude man for 12 minutes. I hang up and call back, and the same man answers. I again explain what I am checking on, and he tells me to come in, my order is ready. His demeanor is poor, and it is clear he resents having to answer the phone. Ironically, the entire time on hold, a recording is telling me how most orders are completed the same day, if not an hour. Upon returning to the shop, I am told to wait at a window by the lab. I do what I am told, and am flatly ignored for 15 minutes by two women, who make it clear cleaning equipment is far more important than acknowledging I exist. The man that sent me there comes over, and I tell him my feelings about being ignored. He then says it isn't their job to give me my order, and I point out he is the one who told me to go to this window. Finally an optician finds my glasses, which apparently were mislabeled. He hands them over, no fitting, no mirror to see how they look, no adjusting, just, here you go, sign and you're out of here. $350 spent, and they can't even be bothered to call me when my order is complete. Hire a phone receptionist if your employees are too important to be bothered with speaking to customers on the phone. read more

9/20/14 paid $114.78 for a single lens replacement. (advertised $69 for 2pair though) 10/1/14 received the wrong prescription and was told "well its not our falt" and "it will be expedited for you" it is 10/18/14 with no result. i have started calling every day now with no effect. also, its the weekend and the whole two employees there will not answer phone calls, do adjustments, or give a crap about customer service so don't even try till a weekday. i was told by an employee that the lab staff just walked off the job. very unprofessional. if you have a choice please save yourself sooo much hassle and go to another eye glass chain (even better) use a local optometrist. -jonathan read more

Horrible experience!!! As a medical person, I can say that their website is absolutely false advertising because you are not seen by an actual eye doctor! It's a 'Tele visit' so the doctor is on the TV screen from Florida, apparently. I went there bc I needed an actual doctor to examine my eye to determine if I had pink eye or a corneal abrasion. I left after 2 1/2 hours and was told something was wrong w my right eye (duh!!) but they could not tell me. Instead they referred me to come back on a Tuesday for another eye exam with an actual physician AND of course pay for another visit. What a racket! Save your $$ and your eyes! read more

THIS COMPANY DOES NOT KEEP THEIR AGREEMENTS. They simply do not do what they say they will do, when they say they will do it. Be prepared for long delays, having to make several followup phone calls, hearing repeated excuses and you glasses simply not being there when delivery was promised. Forget about getting your money back. Only " Corporate " can approve that. Stanton Optical has a new alibi for ever new promise they make ...and break. They say they will call you back but do not do it , call the head office and they too do not call you back. Spend a little more money with another glasses provider and save yourself all the above this is my second post posted a review and that has been removed from here, the worest store I have ever been to. They make you pay in full and it is 2 months and I have not received one single phone call, I have been told some one will call you back and so far nothing NO phone call or my product. Worst glasses I have ever had. Had to wait 9 weeks to receive my new glasses. The prescription seemed right but I asked for high index lenses these lenses were not high index. They were thicker than my old glasses. Also the anti reflective coating was not applied correctly. Looked like someone just smeared it on with their fingers. Overall bad experience from eye exam to glasses pickup. First the optometrist made several xenophobic statements to my daughter about not letting ISIS in the country or not letting them in her house. Presumably he meant all Muslims. Very unprofessional in an eye exam setting.Then we were not notified after her glasses had been in for over a week. While we were picking them I overheard at least 3 callers ask why they had not been notified after finding out that the glasses were in. And another customer in the store was told his glassy had never been ordered. And after their come on advertising we ended up paying 10x the amount advertised. read more

Got an appt. to have eyes checked and see about contact lens. It was a very old eye doctor from Xenia. I guess my eyes are better, per him. Not! Am going to try and get my money back. Glasses not made yet cause of money. Told a cheaper price, and then wrote up for more!! Supposed to pay for another exam with different doctor for contact lenses. Not made of money!! They really don't care if their call center lied to you and told you they take your insurance and once here you find out they don't or that you were told the glasses would be ready in 4 days but really here it's 2 weeks. I will never go here again. I got the b1g1 deal but have yet to actually receive my second pair. I ordered them both back in September 2011. I got the first pair in about 3 weeks . The second pair didn't even come in until 10/31, but there was a flaw in one of the lenses which had to be fixed. I have been waiting since then for them. I have been in several times looking for them but I keep being told that they are out getting the nonglare coating on them. Seriously how long can that possibly take? The last time I went in was 12/31 they told me it would just be 2 more weeks, but when I went in after the two weeks the glasses still weren't ready. That was 1/11/12. At this point I don't think I am going to get my second pair. read more

I would give no stars if possible ...my opinion is first the whole free eye exam is a scam ...they do a very quick ...not in depth exam with a very hateful eye doctor . As soon as exam is done you have to go pay 45dollars for your free eye exam ...which they will substrate after you buy frames .The whole 2pair for 59 dollars thing ...by the time you add lenses to frames your around 325 dollars after they deduct the free eye exam . Then 10 days later glasses will be done . Had mine and realized one eye was still off and took back and they had to send back to labs in Florida 10 to 14 days they show back up ...still wrong ...same eye still blurry .sent back again ...10 days wait ..only to come back wrong again .then I was re tested and doctor assured me that he had it figured out and sent back to Florida again .when they came back they were worse than before .then she said we don't know what's going on and acted like I was crazy or difficult.i then asked for refund because I felt I had been patient enough and was informed even though I paid cash I would be refunded via check ...10 to 14 days of coarse....oh and "free eye exam" I paid for ...was non refundable ....I was out 325 dollars and no glasses for 3 months.... I stopped at eye mart down the street received a much more in depth exam ...a perfect prescription and glasses in an hour . Had an outstanding experience. Made an appointment for my two kids and got right in. This was their first visit for an exam and the Eye Doc played a little game and joked with them to put them at ease and gain their confidence and it worked. They smiled through the process and asked questions that he seemed happy to answer. We then moved onto the glasses selection and fitting step. Andrew took care of us and he couldn't have been anymore professional and helpful. He too took the time to relate with my kids and was very patient. He helped move the process along quickly without making us feel rushed and I appreciated that. From the time we walked in to the time we finished we were treated like we mattered to them. It was apparent they were working to make sure we were satisfied with the whole experience. Will return and will recommend to friends and family! read more

Be careful ordering and glasses from there. I have a pair of regular glasses that give me a headache when I wear them, bifocals that have one eye 3 times stronger than the other causing me dizziness anytime I tried to wear them and sunglasses that are so poorly constructed that they won't stay on my face...700 plus dollars later and horrible quality I will NEVER go back there or recommend them to anyone. read more

I tried Stanton because of the buy one get one deal. The selection is huge. I ordered my glasses and was surprised that it took over two weeks for them to come in. About a year later, my glasses were scratched even though they were supposed to be coated. I brought them in to show them. They did replace the lens since I had paid for the insurance on them. It cost me about $35. They sent them out and I had to wait over two weeks again. Now, only a few months later, they are more than scratched. It started off as just a single scratch but each time I cleaned them with a soft cloth, the scratch was made worse. I never take my glasses off. I have been wearing glasses for many, many years so I am not hard on them. This is very disappointing. read more

Was very disappointed with the customer service from the older optometrist. The whole experience was not very good. We made an appt. for a certain time and were not helped until 30 minutes after. An exam that should have taken approx a half hour took an hour and a half. The only reason this practice recorded two stars is because of the two very nice and helpful ladies at the desk! read more

It's been over five weeks now....and I STILL have not received my glasses! I have called twice and the answer both times was "I'll have to see what's going on and I'll call you when I know something." (That was during week #3 and #4). I have not heard a single thing since. When I was there for the exam the doctor was exceptionally nice, but it pretty much went downhill after that with the tech. Of course nothing was as advertised. I had to pay for the exam and ended up paying $100 for no-line lenses in MY OWN frames. (Plus the $45 exam). I plan to go there after work today to rasie cain! These glasses were promised to be ready in 2-2 1/2 weeks. I will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I gave Stanton Optical one star only because Yelp won't let me give zero stars. First of all, good luck getting a pair of glasses for less than $400. The 2 for $69 deal that was advertised online was nowhere to be found when I got to the store. I didn't see a single pair of glasses that were available for the price, and it appeared to me to be a bait & switch situation. After sitting through the hard sell with the sales person (in spite of telling her up front I had a Groupon and was not buying all that nonsense), I finally got my glasses ordered, and was told leadtime was 2 week. Over 2 weeks later, I call and try to get a status update on my glasses. After being hung up on at least 10 times, being transferred to phones that no one answered, and being put on indefinite hold, I finally reached my local store. When I asked for an update on my order, I was told "we are too busy to check that for you." When I asked how I was supposed to know when my glasses were coming in, she replied "how do you know they aren't already in?" I said "because you haven't called to say they are in." And she said "we don't have time to call you to let you know when they come in." So, I would not recommend Stanton Optical unless you are psychic or a really good guesser and can figure out on your own when your glasses come in. read more

took my son in bought 2 pair supose to be ready end of week. Went back 4 days in a row after they said they would be done. Finally got 1 pair. Went back 3 times and called 4 more times trying to get the 2nd pair , nothing. finally had to threaten to cancel the order and got them fed ex a week later. They said sorry one time goof so being gulable like I am i was dumb enough to go back 2 months later and order glasses for my daughter and myself. They were to be ready same week we ordered and mine in 2 weeks. well after 4 phone calls they AGAIN only have 1 of her pair ready for my daughter and no one there has the slightest clue as to when they other will be done. I only inquired aboutmine and they said " oh not anytime soon, maybe 3 weeks" . Very very sad, I know i will NEVER go back and will advise any and all to just bypass this place , their service is well below standard for sure! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. First of all they incorrectly fit the frames to my 9 year-old, then they wouldn't give credit for a less expensive replacement. Second, they put the wrong Rx in the frames. My doctor measured a whole -0.25 off, which they told me was within range and they wouldn't correct. After 7 trips to this place plus 2 checks on the Rx from my doctor, it's not worth it. Buy your lenses and frames from Dr. Slamer, Beavercreek Vision and know that they are correct! read more

Glasses are not made on-site -- was told 4-6 weeks! I called after 4 weeks and they were in (I wonder when they would call me.) My insurance VSP was not accepted. The doctor was not too professional - too much joking. I was surprised at the gum-chewing manager. When I went to pick them up, I had to stand at a window rather than sitting where I could see a mirror. They did not check to see how they fit around my ears - just asked how's that?. We will never be returning here. Our experience does not even deserve one star. I scheduled an appointment for contacts for my husband, and when we arrived we again reminded them that it was for contacts and that he has never worn them. They did the exam and ten went to check us out. We asked why he hadn't received a contact fitting and they were so confused. We ended up getting him a contact fitting but really an employee named Cassidy just gave him som contacts and left him to put them in on his own...he's never worn contacts and I had to help him, no employee knew how to help him! They did not listen to anything we said and it was a terrible experience. We will be going to another Eye Doctor to receive a proper exam and contact fitting. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! If you spend any money here you are a damn fool. Stated wait time for each person is 2-3 weeks. After waiting 25 days, I decided to go back to the store and get a refund. After being told about issues with the lens makers and glitches etc I was offered free glasses or sunglasses. I declined and insisted on a refund and was given a card and told to call customer service. After talking to customer service, I was informed the refund process starts in store not on the phone. 2 hours later, they finally yielded and offered a refund of charges to my card. But why the run around, why the back and forth, hours of talking wasted, etc. All I know was that this was the first and LAST time I will ever go to this place or any of its affiliates. They ought to be ashamed for treating people like this. No one would want to be treated like this after paying their money. I will also add that I was pleasant, didn't swear at anyone, or really raise my voice, but I was treated as a nuisance just because I asked questions and after unacceptable answers wanted my money back. PLEASE STAY AWAY DO NOT WASTE your time. Only positive experience was with the optometrist. read more

Addendum to my original review: Five weeks after my original date of purchase, I still hadn't received my second pair of glasses; and the first pair I'd gotten were a poor fit and the prescription was not right. After a more than 23 calls over the five weeks; and a different version of why my glasses had not yet come in; I finally had to move forward to obtain a refund. Initially, the general manager said she would have to get it approved through the District Manager and it would take two days. When I called her again on the second day, she informed me I would be refunded only for the undelivered glasses. When I stated my delivered glasses were unacceptable and needed to be returned, she tried to tell me I could come in and pick out new frames and have another pair of glasses made at no charge, but she could not refund my money for the delivered glasses. I stated I would not be able or willing to pick another set of frames and wait yet another "two weeks" because I'm about to undergo a major surgery and will be unable to deal with this - I needed the glasses a month ago and I most definitely need them within the week before my surgery. I went on to inform her that I'd already contacted the Better Business Bureau to lodge a complaint and found them to already have a "D" rating with the BBB for more than 400 other complaints - all identical to mine! I also informed her of my friendship with local media people who were potentially interested in doing an investigative piece; and I'd already informed my attorney of this ongoing nightmare. I stated, "You tell your District Manager the truth: I'm angry and I'm going to be nothing but a bitch about hounding them until I have a complete refund for the glasses I was promised and had not recieved; and that if I don't get a complete refund, the media may be very interested and my attorney will become involved; and I've already begun a complaint with the BBB." A couple hours later, the General Manager called me back and stated on my voicemail that they WOULD refund my total purchase price if I would bring the delivered pair of glasses back. I went that afternoon and indeed, returned the poorly fit, wrong prescription glasses and she did refund my total purchase price. Bottom line is that even Wal-Mart has a far better vision center and policies than Stanton Optical. I've used Lens Crafters and always had nice quality glasses and service, but their prices are very high. I took my refund and in the essence of time, took my prescription to Wal-Mart. I received quite nice customer service, the optometrist actually helped me and she was highly attentive to my needs and helped me select frames that fit well. The bifocal glasses I bought were cheaper than the "two for one" deal at Stanton; and the delivery time initially quoted was 7 - 10 days versus the 14 business days at Stanton. Save yourself the headaches and just go to a reputable place or even Wal-Mart. read more

wow how can this place stay in business. No central desk to walk to to get help. The help are all young girls who don't know much about glasses. Thought it was a 1 hour place, but it's not. Prices seemed good. Ordered 2 pair, it took 3 weeks to get after they put a" rush" on them. Regular glasses are ok by prescription but the lens for the right eye doesn't fit the frame and my hair keeps getting caught in between the lens and the frame. The sunglasses were so big they fell off my head (the sample pair had fit) and the young girl bent them so much that the lenses popped out of the frame in the corners (or maybe never fit in the first place). And after she "cleaned" them they were still dirty! Nearly fell down stairs because the astigmatism wasn't corrected properly. When I took them back the only guy in the place said it was correct but the frame was too big for the lens to be right?!? Huh?!? I've only worn glasses for 40 plus years...never had similar problem....let's see how many weeks it takes to get the corrected pair! Not planning on ever going back again afterwards, would rather spend more than waste so much time on such garbage. read more

i will never go there again. i went the first of january since my eyes have been giving me problems. i sat less than two minutes for the eye procedure, even telling the doctor that it was clear but not clear enough...... he never switched for a different view for me to look into. i was told i could not use my same frames that i purchased their two years prior, due to an extra feature that they were adding. i waited two weeks went in and could not see through them to read. i was told, i was not used to bi focals, which that is what i wear and from them,.... i stood for 30 minutes with this girl telling me, i have to move my head up to see or down as far with my chin touching my neck. i told her, i am not doing that, something is wrong. i told her again, it is blurry, i cannot see. she said she would have them expadited and i would get them soon. a week and half went, i was told one of the pairs were broken by the technician. i did not have time to wait since i am in nursing school and read alot. i told them to cancel my order, which then i was put through the girl that argued with me about me not tilting my head correctly to see, i went throught the entire step by step of how it was blurry. after 10 minutes, she said you have only 24 hours to cancell. i told her nothing showed that on my reciept or on line. my amount is in dispute which i am sure i will not be liable since, i went to another vision center and was told, i could use my same frames and my prescription was nothing as the first prescription. the place is busy, false advertisement about free vision....and very rude. read more
