Today (Saturday) was my second attempt to get an exam and glasses at this location. The previous attempt (Thursday) was a walk-in. They said it would be about five minutes. After ten minutes, they told me an additional 30 minutes. Told me to make an appointment. Today I called, and they said they needed a specialist because I was over 80 (85). Available on Monday. Wow what a surprise! I was very skeptical of the "price come on" advertisement but I have to say I was very surprised and satisfied! What impressed me even more than the very helpful staff was the amount of highly technical machines they used to examine me. Up north, I was always used to having special drops put in my eyes to dilate my pupils so a Doctor could properly examine my retina and optic nerve With a bright light. This meant that someone had to accompany me to the Doctor's office because the effect took hours to wear off. Well that was not what I encountered at Stanton! There must be over $100,000 worth of machines in a special room that measured all different aspects of my eyes starting with the dryness to the clarity of my eye's lens. The machines confirmed my suspicion and a different Doctor's opinion that my right eye developed a cataract which is a clouding of the lens. They do not handle that procedure but I was happy to hear and see the results of that test. They made two pairs of glasses for me. One lightweight clear and one lightweight gray polarized sunlgasses. Eddie and Steven are great to work with. They try to get your frames finished as soon as possible and they are so helpful. I like the way the eye exams are thorough even without a live person in the room... (remote Opticians) They also bring in Live Opticians as well, if you prefer. Just ask a lot of questions and read the fine print when comparing the promotions.... I got a brand new frames and lenses at a reasonable price. I'm a contacts user for the past 10 year and I have been with them for almost 5 now. They might be a bit pricey but I have never had any issues with my contacts ever! I did have something wrong with my eye(couple of months ago) for weeks and they prescribed me eye drops who fixed the issue with in 2days! I visited on November 9, Monday. The Assistant Optomologist was named Doug. He made me feel comfortable, and was very kind. The primary Optomologist who serviced me was virtual due to COVID-19. This was a little awkward at first, but it turned out fine. She was to the point, but still considered my needs. The store manage was named Luis. He helped me get two pairs of glasses, at an economical price. Be sure to point out the deal if that is what you want, so they are aware to prove you with said package. The only slight issue is that it takes 2 weeks for the glasses to come back to Stanton Optical, but the slower process is likely due to the pandemic. My overall experience was good. I do not understand why the reviews are poor for this establishment. Though I seldom have to get an examination, I would revisit in the future. read more

This was literally the worst business experience I've probably ever had. The staff are nice but pretty clueless. That's what I get for going to a cheap retail chain for glasses? They use foreign optometrists via video conference, which I guess I was fine with, but they seemed unable and/or unwilling to answer and questions. Most the frames are cheap looking and unstylish, so I have them my own frames to update the lens. It's supposed to take 1-2 weeks to get your glasses back. In fact, this business prides itself on and advertises their speediness. It has been SIX WEEKS SINCE THEY SENT MY FRAMES OUT TO BE FILLED!!!! SIX WEEKS!!!! My eyes are sore, I've called a couple if times and they blame weather conditions for the delayed shipping!!!! Where are my glasses coming from??? Australia?????? I'm so disgusted and appalled. Wow. I have never felt so disrespected at a doctors office before. I called yesterday and made an appointment over the phone. I gave the person my name information and asked them to verify that they take my insurance. He said no problem we take your insurance I even gave them the insurance ID number. He said that somebody tomorrow make a copy of your cards just come on in we have you all set for your appointment. I come in this morning 30 minutes early. The guy ignores me is talking on the phone instead of putting the person on hold on the phone and then saying hello to me. I give them my insurance information he tells me that I do not have any eyeglass coverage. That my insurance does not cover glasses. He then informed me that it's going to be $50 for my eye exam plus the purchase of glasses. Not only did they waste my time. But when I told him that he must've made a mistake because I verified yesterday and I had the same vision insurance for the past three years and nothing has changed. He simply decide to ignore me and make another phone call. Long story short, stay away from this place. Not only are they rude but they don't know how to pull insurance properly. They simply want to bill you and Bill your insurance too. I quickly left. And called my old eye doctor. Went in to try and make an appointment because I'm on my last pair of contacts. After some help checking on my insurance, they told me it probably won't kick in until next year because of how the plan works. In lieu of an appointment, they offered to have a set of boxes delivered to my home but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend at the time. So I posted almost 2 years ago about how inept the workers were at this place and the bait and switch and lies to get a person to put their hand in their pocket. I buy 2 pair of glasses and the tech looks at the ones I'm wearing now and says to me "you must have bought them at Stanton". I have noticed over the last few weeks that there is a film that Stanton put on which is peeling off. After my purchase, I drive over to Stanton and show a guy named Sebastian my glasses. Asks for my name, looks in the computer and says " your glasses are still under warranty" at which point I'm thinking "ok cool" I can have these as back up. Well I couldn't have been wronger. Sebastian with a bun on his head looks at me with a straight face and tells me it's will be $185 to fix the problem that was under warranty!!! So this company advertises 2 pairs of glasses for $79 and I should pay to have something fixed that's under warranty!!! I said to Mr Man Bun, "Are you F---ing kidding me"!!! I should pay you for something that's under warranty. Mr man bun then says " well we are under new management" and there is a 20% co-pay. CO-PAY!!!!! I already friggin paid you!!!! I was looking forward to my appointment at the Boca Raton FL location at Glades and Saint Andrew's but I got there 5 minutes before my appointment and there was one person checking out with the cashier which left the the office coordinator and the optometrist free to greet me, I stood there for 10 minutes looking at them looking at me before the optometrist came and asked if he could help me. The optometrist gave me a tablet to check in and I sat there an additional 25 minutes listening to the three employees trying to decide what they would have for lunch. At this point I realized taking care of customers was not a priority for these people and I walked out. I thought someone would call to ask why I left but no one bothered to check in even though the place was empty when I left. The next day I got a canned text as if I had missed my appointment. Not a good sign if you expect good customer service, this experience was a huge disappointment Staton Optical. We went in Good Faith to Staton Optical in Boca Raton store from a Commercial we saw on TV FOR 2 PAIRS of Glasses for $69.00 including eye exam. We even called up and asked about the special promotion early January. When we made the appointment and arrived at the store the Women receptionist whom is extremely rude told us it doesn't pertain to all eyeglasses it depends on your perception. She never made eye contact with us and was extremely rude. The whole process of picking out your frames gears towards very expensive frames. The Special promotion is only to get you in the store. once you have your eye exam you are railroaded into spending way way more than the special promotion! They are full of deceitful tactics this place and smile while doing it. This place is run like a comedy of errors! Do NOT use Stanton Optical on 6100 Glades Road, Boca Raton, FL! Both of their quality of work and service are BAD! In April I had my eye exam there and ordered new prescription lenses using my own frame--a high end good quality frame(retail $500 now). It was fine in the beginning. They called me to try on the new glasses after a few weeks. As the new lenses didn't fit the frame, the store clerk said they would redo it and would be ready in a few days. Then things went down hill from that point. Four weeks passed, I didn't hear from them. I checked their online status. Nothing... All those months, I had to wear my old, out-of-prescription glasses. It's not comfortable, let alone very dangerous when you drive around town. As my patience was wearing thin, I went to the store only to be told that they had broken the frame! See attached picture below. I was very disappointed that they didn't even call to notify me! The store clerk offered to get me a pair of glasses for temporary use. They said it would be ready at the end of that day. I went home and waited and waited. Not a phone call received from them... The next day, nothing. The next day, the same... Very frustrated, I called their customer service. They called the store manager and escalated the case. Two days later, I received an email notice that my glasses were ready. I went to the store. To my surprise (Or I shouldn't be surprised), the store clerk told me it wasn't ready, but said he would make it ready in 30 minutes. So I waited hoping to get the temporary glasses for a relief. Nope. It was just a false hope. As I tried on the glasses, I found it completely out of prescription! The prescription is not right or even close, since they do remote vision exam, which is not accurate. With utter disappointment, I decided to cancel the order and want my money back. I also requested for reimbursement of the broken frame and lenses. So far I haven't heard from the manager. It's been more than two months. This place can't even meet the basic requirement. They always over promise, but with no delivery. On top of that, their service is very bad. The wait in their store is long. When an issue arises, you don't get to speak to the manager or the right person. hey said the manager would call you, but he never did. It's very frustrating!
