I have been waiting to buy my progressive glasses for an entire year as most in store places did not have any glasses that made me squeal with excitement, and online ordering was too risky with the type of prescription I have. I went into Stanton Optical with my prescription, scared I wasn't going to be able to find what I wanted, and more so not going to be able to afford something perfect with my budget. I've been in retail for over 23 years so customer service is so so important. Today I left with tear filled eyes. I got not only one, but TWO pairs of glasses, the top two on my "squeal" list. She worked with me on everything I needed and wanted. When she showed me my total, I thought I was looking at the price for just one pair, but no, I get two! She took the time to play around with different way to get as close as possible to stay within my budget, making some adjustments to the type of lens in order so I could get into glasses quicker because of my budget. She was able to hear my concerns, read my body language and ended up making it happen and ordering the EXACT lenses I wanted. She was absolutely WONDERFUL. My husband's acute symptoms were dismissed and told he was just "getting old" and needed glasses. Went and got a second opinion and were now going to see a Retina specialist. This is the worst clinic I have ever been to, ever! I had three experiencez and to sum it up: 1. The first time, the girl could not help me with my insurance information, she didn't know how to run the optical machines before the exam, she didn't know how to get my rx off the current glasses I had. The whole experience was a waste because I ended up ordering glasses and contacts with the wrong rx. 2. I had to be redone for my rx, as nothing worked. They "reordered sample contacts" and didn't file it correctly so it took over three weeks to come in. 3 When the samples finally came in, I received TWO of the three samples ordered. And of the two I received, only ONE pair was the correct rx. And to call the clinic and get ahold of anyone working, a magic trick I cannot seem to pull off. Horrible experience. Erick, the optometrist, was incredibly helpful and empathetic in troubleshooting some broken glasses for a family member who could not come to the location (hospitalized). He would not take any payment, but repaired the glasses so the wearer can use them again. Which was just a godsend. read more

Waited over an hour when we had an appointment, and they told us they accepted our insurance and when we were done with the eye exam we ended up paying for it out of pocket. Glasses part don't know what they are doing! I've used them for a few years now but after this last time I'll not go back! The guy didn't understand insurance. He said I had to pay for lenses. I didn't. I called main office in Florida & she looked into it & said yes you are right it pays for the glasses & frames. You can go back. I said hell no I drove 2.5 hours there last week. So she asked if she had that office to call me & get what I wanted over the phone & they mailed with ups would I be happy? I said I would. So the guy called & said I'd have them on Fri of last week. I came in on Saturday with my mother for eye exams and glasses. When we first entered the building there was a very foul order, we were greeted by a friendly tech, but then informed if we have eye problems we will need to reschedule our appointments as on the weekend they only have a virtual doctor. I explained I am a diabetic and have retinopathy. I was quickly told to reschedule. I still need a regular eye exam, she understood that and finished setting us up. I then explained the over-sea- appt setter, also stated that the 2 for 79 eye glasses would be with thin lenses, when my prescription is for "bottle cap glasses" (my eyes are very bad.) The tech was very apologetic and stated I was misinformed. This whole interaction was misinforming. I drove over 1 hour from home to come here, this issue needs to be corrected. read more

I drove all the way to the "hood" today for an eye exam I scheduled online. When I got there, the parking lot was basically empty. I went to the receptionist, gave her my name and she asked me if I had insurance and what type. I told her and she said they don't accept that. I told her the email I received said they do. She said she would let her supervisor know about it and that it would cost $59.00 for the exam. THEN she told me that they didn't have a LIVE person to do the exam on Saturdays, that it would be a "virtual" exam. How the HELL do they do a virtual eye exam?!? I told her to cancel my appointment. I will NOT be back even though, in the past, I have gotten good prescriptions from their optometrists. Another reason why Little Rock is going down the tubes. The only reason I gave one star is because yelp wouldn't accept my review without one. read more

Showed the ad, agreed on the ad price..ok..let"s get you started..charged the card, then told me the ad price was expired after ringing up the credit card..showed them the expiration date on the ad which wasn't near expired and was told it(the ad) was from another city..lol..I refused to sign and asked if they could refund. They refused to credit and said it should drop off my credit card since I "changed my mind after purchasing"...They mentioned alternative deals I could purchase with the higher transaction and may qualify for a partial refund..Decades ago I'd of tried to argue and reason, but I'm too smart to argue over blantant fraud...They didn't complete the authorization, so it only cost me a trip to the store. I needed contacts lens asap and everyplace I called need a appointment but when I called Stanton I was able to get in when I walked in. I definitely recommend everyone here. I went for an appointment, excited that I could be seen on the fourth of July for a contacts prescription. The assistant was gruff from the beginning. I wasn't opening my eye wide enough during her pre-exam appointments. She just kept saying louder, open your eye wider. I promise if I could have, I would have. Then when I went into the exam room, I was told it was a virtual visit. The assistant had difficulty setting up the appointment and it took 15 minutes to get started. The person giving the test on the video was a technician of some sort, not an optician or an optometrist. I was not given the opportunity to back out at this point nor was I told I wouldn't meet with a doctor to discuss any results. A doctor signed off on the prescription, I'm assuming after looking at the results. As I had just had an eye exam at a better doctor in West Little Rock, I wasn't concerned about general eye health, but would have liked to have heard I was/was not a good candidate for contacts given concerns like eye allergies, dry eye, etc. The office did not have the trial prescription I needed in so they ordered. The order arrived very quickly and I received a text to let me know they had arrived. The same assistant was there. She was still gruff and short. I asked for help knowing how to use them but she said she had never put contacts in. I asked if they did have any in-person doctors and she said they did but he wasn't in (despite it being Friday at 5:15 and hours extending until 7 or 8 pm) and I could just ask the glasses guy if he had ever done it. This review is regarding the Stanton Optical in Little Rock Arkansas on University specifically Dr. Choate A few weeks ago I got an email that it would soon be time for an appointment if I wanted to refill my contacts. I quickly bought a box to hold me over until then. When I got home I realized they had given me the wrong prescription, however I just lived with because I would soon be seeing Dr. Choate. I called the University office to schedule my appointment well in advance. THEY chose the day, Memorial Day for my appointment. I told them I can do another day if they needed. They assured me that was a good day. In the meantime I got an email confirmation and two reminder texts of appointment day and time. So I arrived at the time they had set to see Dr. Choate pulling out. He looks at me and keeps driving. When I went in they informed me that he just left. That's right, he just left. Mind you I wasn't late. He just skipped out on my appointment. I have always gone overboard to show kindness to him and his staff not sure why I was treated this way except possibly discrimination. I have multiple autoimmune diseases and am a senior citizen, getting to the Dr. is no easy task. At first I was very angry but I quickly realized it was a deep hurt of being dismissed and rejected. The Eye exam only took about 20 minutes and it took maybe another 20 minutes to finish the paperwork and pick out my frames. We were told it would be 2 weeks to get the glasses but we will see. read more

2017 was the first time that I used Stanton for my exam and the eyeglasses...and it will be the last time. I purchased two pair of glasses...one for reading and the other for distance. My major pair of glasses, distance, had a film on them to help with glare. I was not informed that this film would eventually obstruct my vision. The lenses are bad. I took them back and asked if they would do something to them until I come back for another pair in January of 2020. I was told no because it's been two years. I guess customer satisfaction is not high on they're list. A company that I used for years had repaired a pair of my glasses and at the time they were at least four years old. Well, this experience has made me decide to return to the other company. Unfortunately, in this day and age customer satisfaction doesn't exist within many establishments. read more

The front desk staff on the eye doctors side of the building were amazing! Very helpful and very attentive to my questions and concerns. Pre-exam was quick with hardly any wait time and right in to see the eye doctor. He was fantastic! The exam was very quick and simple, he explained every step and didn't try to talk over my head when explaining what he was doing as well as what ai needed or what he recommended. Last year my new schnauzer ate my favorite frames 11 months after I bought them. I brought them in hoping to reorder my favorite frame. Amber was rude, unprofessional and seemed very clueless as to how to perform her job. She refused to confirm our insurance coverage. We were about to be overcharged $155.00! We were about to walk out without purchasing any glasses, when Amber went in back and sent out Ashley. What a huge difference! Ashley looked up our coverage and we only needed to pay $20 co-pays!
