I went in a while back with the intention of getting their Buy One Get One for $79 deal, but didn't realize till after the eye exam that the only pairs of glasses that are eligible for that are random colors and leopard print. Not only did I feel the need to purchase more expensive glasses for something that looked more "casual", but they constantly pushed back my pick up date without informing me so I kept going back and forth with no glasses. Each time having to hunt someone down because there wasn't any employees on the sales floor or behind the desks! I was told and expected to have both pairs within 2 weeks but received the first pair on week two and had to wait almost an hour because they had not put the lenses in the frames yet. While waiting another 4 weeks for my last pair, the bolt holding my frame together broke days after getting them and I had to bring them back for them to install it correctly. To their credit, they did do it quickly and I haven't had that issue since. When I finally hounded the customer support for the third time, which was not in-store employees, I finally was contacted to pick up the sunglasses that I had bought. I went to pick up my SUNGLASSES that had almost completely transparent lenses. My girlfriend told me that I looked like Neo from the matrix if he was wearing goggles. I asked them if they can tint the lenses a bit because when they were on the display, they weren't even close to being transparent. They said that they could but they'd give me a call when the tint arrived. It's been 3 months since then and i'm yet to receive any kind of communication at all. I went here around a year ago for a simple pair of single-frame lenses. I was on my lunch break at work, and had limited time, so I had booked an appointment in advance. It took more than 45 minutes for me to even see the "doctor", who was actually only available through a screen on a FaceTime call. This was not communicated with me prior to booking my appointment, or I would Not have booked. I ended up getting the run around when it came to picking my glasses up, even after an egregious price paid upon ordering them. Two different staff members assured me that they would call when my glasses were ready, one in person at my appointment; I called to check in when they were supposed to be ready, but I hadn't received a call a week after the estimated time frame, so I called again and they said they didn't have them yet and didn't know when they would be in but when I stopped by on my lunch break that day, they said they were in and they had called me a week before. They had not, I checked. Eventually I got my glasses, which I don't like and I don't wear, but I couldn't find any better frames for my face, so that was my own fault for settling, not a professional issue. However, I would literally never go here again. I'm almost positive they took a few walk-in appointments knowing my appointment was coming up, hence the wait. Absolutely awful planning and inexcusable to wait so long for a scheduled appointment and then be asked to pay like 275$. For one pair of glasses that I don't wear and a FaceTime with a doctor who I couldn't hear very well. Go somewhere else. read more

Very poor customer service. It took almost 4 hours to get a scheduled appointment resolved and then the staff told us glasses would be ready for pickup same day (30mins-1 hr) but we came back hours later and they didn't even start on the glasses. Not sure if the worker was new or what, but the manager did resolve some of the confusion. Don't recommend this location. read more

They always advertise deals on their website, but every time it ends up being wayyyy more. Then you feel like you have to pay it because you wasted so much time sitting waiting there! Last time they had a "deal" on glasses. It was 2 for $79 and something like 2 for $129 for the mid grade tier of glasses (what I got) and it still ended up being way over $300. Same thing yesterday when I got contacts. They offered $160 for a year supply of contacts and the exam, but I ended up paying $389 for a 6 month supply. The other contacts they offered weren't much cheaper. The staff is nice enough, but be prepared to spend over $300 for a visit. read more

This morning my husband had an appointment at Stanton Optical, and when he arrived at the scheduled opening time, the doors were locked. A worker was sitting in her car and told him she was waiting for a manager to come open the store. He waited an additional 30 minutes, along with other patients who were also standing outside, and no one ever showed up. Eventually, my husband had to leave. I called a couple of hours later to see if they ever opened. The woman who answered the phone had zero personality . When I explained what happened, her response was simply, "Ok, do you want me to reschedule?" -- no apology, no concern, nothing. When I said that an apology and basic customer service could go a long way, she responded sarcastically, "Ok, I'm sorry." Her tone was so rude and dismissive. I understand emergencies happen, but that does not excuse the lack of communication, professionalism, or respect for patients' time. People got up early, rearranged their schedules, and are literally paying your paycheck. Eye appointments are health-related, and in our case especially important, as my husband's vision has been affected and he needed this appointment. Honestly, the 2-star rating now makes complete sense. If I were Stanton's customer service or corporate team, I would seriously look into employee training, morale, or hiring new staff altogether. Happier, better-trained employees usually lead to better customer service -- and this location clearly needs help in that area. Avoid this place at all costs. I had an appointment for an eye exam at 9:15. When I entered, there was just one person working there and he was helping some lady on the computer. He didn't even lookup to acknowledge me nor did he call anyone else to come help me although it looked like he was the only one working there. After 15 minutes of waiting I decided to walk around and right behind the reception desk there was a tiny eye doctor's office. I see two customers standing by the door. I walked in, there was no receptionist. There was a sign in sheet so I signed my name. There were no chairs inside the office to sit and wait. I heard a voice down the hallway of what sounded like the doctor speaking to a patient. I waited about 20 mins more and no one called me in even though I had scheduled an appointment for 9:15. I just left frustrated and mad. This place has zero customer service. No signage anywhere telling you where to go if you're there for an eye exam. The entire place is dimly lit, uninviting and "ghetto". Very unprofessional. This is not how businesses are ran. These people do not care about their customers at all. You're better off going to lens crafters. DO NOT COME HERE AT ALL COSTS!! read more

I have been in need of glasses for years but couldn't afford them. Finally at 61 yrs of age I came up with 200 for a pair of progressive glasses . When I received them they were unwareable so to incorrect perception. They even forgot to put a perception on one eye. Had an in person visit . It was rushed and the DR. didn't seen interested. Got the new glasses/prescription a little better but not by much. Use them at times for reading but that's it. Pretty much my distance is the same with or with out. So disappointed, probably will never be able to afford again. Go some where else. Not worth it read more

Unprofessional , poor staff always something going on with a computer crashing , doctor calling in sick a minute before your appointment and so on , and instead of them apologizing or letting you know that you have to wait longer they decide not to say anything till you walk up and tell them you want to cancel your appointment cuz you've been in the waiting room for an hour . They ask you if you want to reschedule like ya let me come again and waste another hour or two . No stars if I can I don't recommend that place for my worst enemy , just straight unprofessional nobody knows what they're doing . My apology in advance, but...you must be informed. 1. The hustle: The lab only orders pre-treated polycarbonate lenses. Stanton charges extra for both "options"...that are not options at all. To be clear; same day glasses are not possible unless you pay over $100 extra off the top each unit. So $200 extra...or wait 2 weeks. 2. 50% somehow....equals about $20 off Arrived on-time for a 4:45p appointment/exam. Told regardless of how good I can now see in the chair; the glasses...not my eyes need to see 20/20. So...I needed to see the Dr in person 2+ weeks later? Work blind. Arrived for rescheduled appointment. "Turns out everything is fine. We can get you glasses today"? Wait for it.... I ask for my 50% off. Told the offer expired. After explaining my original appointment locked in the discount....got the 50% off. That some how only took $20 off (Give or take). One of the last same day in about 40 min replacement glasses place in town. So? It is what it is. read more

I believe our optician was Aeman, I did not get a card but he helped my mom and I. she got progressives and transitions. I got same day glasses. I should have gotten progresIves. not sure the Rax is right, going back next weekend. I do not like the virtual "Dr" but the optician was super amazing and listened to everything. the staff is doing what they need to do up and beyond. just does not make sense there is no dr in premises. my glasses have been better than before but after a week the Rx doesn't seem right, wwhich happens, so I have to go back. optician was amazing! that is why we will be going back and I will be ordering another pair from him once we figure out my astigmatism axis. that you! read more

There are so many other places to go for an eye exam where they actually care about their patients - avoid this place unless you're taking it down yourself. The worst practice I've ever experienced. Not once have I ever gone to ANY place, optometry or otherwise, where staff was so unprofessional. Good luck getting a response or call back, seems like they don't care about their jobs or titles enough to gain clientele. From the looks of it, they can't even keep their current clientele happy. Most staff is very rude, unprofessional and the manager seems like she doesn't care to do... you know... her job; and it directly reflects on the rest of the office. You're extremely lucky if you get someone who actually cares. I'm surprised the business is still standing on the last leg it has and based off the company's responses, no one is being held accountable for their actions. Had an appointment at 1pm. Called to say we were going to be late. Arrived at 1:07pm and the entire building was empty. I waited at the receptionist desk while my boyfriend walked around trying to find someone. I saw a younger blonde walking around texting and laughing in what looks like the area they make the glasses. I tried to wave at her to get her attention and she didn't even look up. I ended up waiting 9 minutes before I had to knock on the window to get her attention that there are people here needing help. We have never been here before so we don't know where to go. She came out of the room and told us just because we need help doesn't mean we can knock on the window. I told her I tried waving at her to get her attention but she was so engrossed into her phone she wasn't paying attention and she snapped that it didn't matter. And said "appointments are somewhere over there" while waving her hand in a non specific direction. Luckily this lovely lady that helped us with our appointment was actually nice and stated she couldn't leave her desk or she would have come to get us. I mentioned to my boyfriend that I was leaving a review and the blonde told me it wasn't necessary and I said it was. The blonde then planted herself at the receptionist desk and I can actually hear her right now watching videos on her phone and it's louder than the radio they have blasting in the building. The worst experience. I went to the one in Stockton and they wasted my time having me wait an hour and half only to tell me that they couldn't help since the optometrist had already left. I had an appointment. Made no sense. Gave them another try a year later at this Modesto location and arrived 10 mins early. The staff didn't acknowledge me and I had a seat in the lobby... after 20 mins , I finally asked for help from the arrogant lady with the cheek fillers and she told me I had to wait until I was called. I just left. Heads up; their marketing and call center are super responsive to answering your calls, and putting you on the schedule but once they have all your info... they leave you on your own and have no communication with the actual store locations. I have sat on this review for a long time. For a long time I was struggling with my vision & was having difficulties at work. I have been wearing glasses & contacts for years & knew something was wrong, I called around & spoke to Stanton & they had a special so I decided to go there. I showed up to my appointment only to find out that I was being examined by a person on a TV screen. shocked! Well miraculously my vision improved tremendously with their results, yet I still couldn't see! I had my vision results from a year ago & showed them their results was impossible. They scheduled me to come back again a few weeks later when I can see a real person! At that appointment my new prescription was more accurate and was told to use drops for dry eyes. I spent over $500. I still continued to struggle at work with my vision. In desperation I decided to go to a medical doctor & went to Delta eye medical in Tracy. Found out my left eye had scaring, along with caterax & astigmatism!! They have since help my scaring, received caterax surgery in both eyes & can now see perfectly clear! No more glasses or contacts! No struggles! Amazing how crystal clear & bright everything is! You need help? Go to a medical eye doctor! read more

They advertise deals to get you through the door and then upsell you and don't honor what they advertised. They will also charge you for things you didn't agree to so make sure to check your receipt before you walk out and ask what you are signing for. It may not just be your receipt. They signed me up for the loyalty program without even telling me and charged me $20 for it! They didn't even talk to me about it or mention it. So false advertisement and consumer fraud is common here. read more

You will get a virtual eye exam and can find coupons for a discount. But keep in mind they say they are short staffed and that is the reason for no one acknowledging you when you enter. I did the exam after walking to the back and finding a place to check in. The virtual exam was really different as you are talking to a person on tv. They actually got my husbands order wrong and we had to call several times to get the progressive added on. When you call you get a call center and never can reach the store itself. So frustrating. After about a week and a half I got a text to pick up my glasses. Don't come in on a Sunday though as they say they don't dispense then. We did come in Sunday as we weren't told this, and there was no one there, so they did take me. But the glasses were the wrong prescription and I couldn't see out of them! I had to go back when an actual optometrist was there the following Wednesday. She did the exam again and found they were way off the first time. So they reordered the glasses, and we will see when I pick them up if they are correct. Jay is very nice. Sirena needs help in learning customer service and how to smile. She is young and has no people skills at all. So sad. Hopefully they can train her as I watched her wait on others the second time I came back, not one smile. She was actually rude to me. She needs training for sure! I will do another review after finally getting my glasses- hopefully soon. read more

GO ANYWHERE ELSE The staff is totally inconsiderate and rude. Multiple times I have come here to just pick up an order and it seems as though every time I come in to do so I get a different excuse as to why I cannot pick up my glasses that are in the building. You would think by sending me a notification my order was ready as well as me confirming via phone call they could have mentioned they do not do pick-ups on Wednesday and Sunday. So of course I came in the day I got the notification, who wouldn't? Of course it was Wednesday however. The attendant at the counter was very callous and uncaring. Giving off an attitude of it wasn't her fault so why does she care. I was standing there with my jaw open as she told me I was "shit out of luck" As far as the exam itself my prescription was wrong on the first try and the second try took a hassle to get my lenses. The attendant who helped me however was a very nice friendly helpful man. The eye doctor was also very kind. The rest if the staff seemed callous and cold though and it was not a pleasant experience. Have you ever had service from a facility and thought I feel unseen ?? I had this very experience yesterday.. I called ahead made an appt. by phone , Easy same day appt. I was enjoying the process, checked in easy.. had my own prescription, very easy and felt welcomed during the check in process, I shopped my own frames x2 no pushyness .. easy waited with my frames in seated waiting area. I was approached by a person named Angelina, I thought she looked to busy and I felt at first I was just a push thru customer and she needed to get on with me so she could return to her schedule, Im happy to report Tho I am a senior and we seem to take longer for most everything.. Angelina showed her skill for customer service right away, she cared for me and spent time with me, I no longer felt like I was annoying, I appreciate the warmth and care she gave me. I love the pricing and being able to get the glasses after the eye exam the same day. Unfortunately I would have to be honest and say this placed is unorganized & dysfunctional as far as the staff. I had an appointment and talked to a man at the front desk who told me to find the glasses but was not informed to check in with receptionist in the back after finding the glasses. I dislike giving poor reviews but here it goes. The biggest issue with this Stanton Optical in Stuart could be solved by hiring a part time high school student or a senior citizen (since this is Fl.) I went to Stanton to have my Rx filled for new glasses with a prism. This is a more difficult Rx to fill and I was going on vacation in a month. The staff assured me that I would have my glasses in time. I stopped in the store two weeks later ( just to check) and was told that my glasses were In quality control and then would be shipped out. I figured two days in quality control and two days shipping. Great I will have the. In time for my vacation. One week slater, I call the company to see where my glasses were. The person who ans first to,d me I Had no Rx. Requested he recheck, telling him when I ordered them and that they were in Quality Control a week ago. He then gives me a date 3 weeks away. I told him that was unsatisfactory. He transferred me to the store who told me my glasses were not ready and I could have a refund or a free pair of glasses. No idea when they would be ready. I told them this was unacceptable, I had told them the date that I needed them by and if this was not going to happen I needed to know. If they had told me when they. Failed quality control, I still had time to go to another store. My fault when I was leaving the store the first time, I was stopped my a man coming out of the store, he told me he overheard my discussion. He had been waiting 3 months for his glasses which he said were not an u usual Rx. And still did not have them. He was canceling his order. Should have listen and cancelled my order. The issue with this store is none communication. With the customer. A part time person, student or senior citizen could keep track of orders and keep the customer informed. Of course another issue is that every store is now sending their glasses out to places out of area. if They kept the customer informed it would not be such an issue.
