So I broke my glasses and needed a new pair fast because my eye sight is horrible, I went online hoping they had availability for the next day and they did. When I walked in I could tell the place was under staffed, there was only three workers, so I had to wait quit some while after my scheduled appointment time. But while I was waiting I was observing and honestly I had no problem waiting because those three were working hard to help everyone while being super friendly with their huge work load, even the doctor whom gave me the eye exam via video was very patient with me. Us all having to wait so long is an upper management issue, they were doing the best they could with the hand they were dealt. The man said it would take two weeks for my glasses to come in and they came in five days. I have never seen such lack in customer service skills in my life. The store had a new person help my wife and I with no mentor near by. He struggled but eventually got where he needed to go with the help of my wife. He ordered the wrong frame for my safety glasses which took 3 associates later to track down. I have been waiting for my original order since the 26 June 2018. Today is the 28th day, 2 remakes later, and here we are again not ready and no chance of a date when they possibly will be. Stanton Optical has told me so many things they would do to make things right and never followed up with me to make them happen. I again had to call today and wait on hold for 25 min. To be told sorry sir the lab messed up again. It could be another 2 weeks. No one ever reached out to me to give me the status of my glasses. This place is awful!!!! If I can give them 0 stars I would!!!! My boyfriend went in there to get an eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses. He paid cash $350. They were so quick to take his money and try to sell him a bunch of unnecessary addons. They told us they would be in, in about 10 business days. We called them 10 days later and they told us they are not in yet. We called a week later and got put on hold for 15 minutes, got hung up on. We called back and they were still scrambling to find his order got put on hold for another 15 minutes before they even found his order. This place is very unprofessional, employee have no idea what they are doing. They are scrambling around when you are in their store or even on the phone. Definitely will never be back here nor will I recommend anyone to come here. Eye appt 12/10 schedule for my husband and I. Was told would be ready in 2 weeks. Called at least 3x and glasses were not ready. No call so went in 1/7. Took at least 15-20 mins for mgr to find order. My glasses were ready. Just handed it to me. Didn't take time to check if fitted properly. Said husband's would be ready by 1:30. Went back at 2:45 and claimed technician didn't come in so it wasn't ready. Didn't bother to call. Took business card and called 1/8 and said would be ready by 5:30 today. I feel I have given this establishment ample time to resolve issues. When I asked to talk to a manager I was hung up on. Not good customer care. When inquiring how long it would be to receive me glasses I was told same day or next. I ordered 2 pair of glasses on Wed. April 22. My lenses were in stock however due to the time of day it would be Thur. April 23 before I could pick up my glasses. They required full payment which they received. Thursday I was told "not ready yet". Called mid morning on Friday. "Not yet!" I made an appointment to pick them up at 4 pm. and drove across town. "Sorry we don't have them done, If you could just wait an hour or so." I could not wait. I was told that they would be mailed to me and they confirmed my address and I should have them by Monday April 27. Saturday May 2, still NO GLASSES. I called and talked to a person who initially could not find my records or glasses. He too confirmed my address. The only explanation he could give me for the delay is that they could not reach me by phone. I supplied my home and cell phone numbers on two previous occasions. I told him that they had no trouble taking my money and I felt that I needed to be compensated for my trouble and broken promises from them. I again was told "sorry". I asked to talked to a manager, being to be made felt like the problem was my fault. Upon my continued request to talk to a manager I was HUNG UP ON. So here I am. I brought my mother in law in today to do a return for not so pleasant service with Lauren Newman (Sales Mgr) as it says on her business card. Nearly 2 months ago, my in laws came in to exam their eyes and order their glasses. After the exam, the doctor instructed them to go to the front and she'll bring the prescription paper work to order the glasses. As they're trying to order, they were asked their prescription because the paperwork was never given. By the time they went back and got it, my in laws wanted Bifocal and 3 cashiers quoted $65 and Lauren harshly snarked at them "No it's $120!" .... I'm sorry, that's just not how you talk to fellow coworkers especially in front of customers. We were annoyed but accepted the price and paid anyways. The weird part was that Lauren took our card and charged it 3 different times and we had no idea... all she said was "let me see your card" we assumed it didn't work and she slid again..... anyways, we were told it would be delivered in 2 weeks and we'd get a call to pick up. 3 weeks later and no calls, we showed up to check the status and only one pair was there. They told us to hang out and they'll call us when they find the other pair. We shopped from 11 am-3pm and still no call. We come back to the store and Lauren tells us that she'll call when she finds it. Here's what to expect, you go in for the exam, choose two pairs of frames, whichever one costs more, you will be paying for, the second one is complementary. An additional $128 is added on to whatever frame you're paying for because that's the cost for a single vision lens, that's the cheapest. However, the staff is VERY detailed and very thorough when helping you! Nadia, Jamie, and the doctor were SO friendly, their entire staff was. BIG difference from when I went to the Madison location. They're so friendly and patient, which is super important to me! Nadia hooked it up, for sure and got them ready the same day. I will be recommending this location to my friends and family. WOW what a selection! And a great looking store with bright orange accents and official-looking "health" personnel walking around in white lab coats. But behind the shiny displays and modern furniture, there lies a used car lot philosophy. DO NOT be deceived into paying for the first price they throw at you. After searching for acceptable frames for my daughter over a 45-minute visit, we approached one of the staff members and asked for the price for the two frames we had selected. They have a giant wall-sized sign that says "Buy 1, Get 1". Unfortunately, "company policy" prevented them from offering this deal with my insurance but ... if we decided to pay out of pocket, they could give me both pairs for $250 (the eager sales rep informed us). So, I said "no thank-you" and started to walk out the door. That's when it started to get infuriatingly sleazy ... as I started to walk out the door, the "manager" barked out to his associated to give me a "walk-out slip". After some mumbling and bumbling, a very long and confusing explanation about what a "walk-out slip" is and profuse and embarrassed apologies from the very nice associate, I discerned that a walk-out slip is a last-ditch effort to get your business. The price of two pairs of glasses dropped -- in 30 seconds -- to $138. I don't like a business that isn't on the up-and-up the whole way through. Down to three stars because of service after the sale. They loved us when we made a purchase; delivery left a lot to be desired. No one called when the glasses were ready. I had to follow up on the order and was told they were ready for pick up... but no apology. Delivery at the window was less than professional and made me feel like I was bothering them. The associates have no clue how to speak to people in a businesslike manner. The glasses were marked up and greasy dirty, not what I expected as "ready for delivery." A problem with lenses was later treated in a confused and disorganized manner. Again, no apology. There is no one in charge; staff doesn't seem to be trained, and a snarky attitude from two associates left me with a bad impression. Parking is a nightmare if you go near this place at peak meal times, since it is very close to Olive Garden, Chipolte, and Arigato Sushi. This can be an issue for someone who cannot walk any distance; or for the driver who wants to drop someone off. read more

I bought 2 pair of glasses from them. One was clear and one dark. Both frames broke and I had to return for repairs. I never got the dark glasses fixed because every time I went there I either stood around and waited a long time or there was no parking to be had. Every time I call I made promises that they'll be here tomorrow they'll be here Monday etc. 2 employees told me that they had a mixup at the corporate office and contacts were not set out for a week... Okay, anyway I was asked to please be patient and wait until last Thursday they would be there either Thursday or Friday... Almost one star... For starters the location is poor , there is very little parking, the $20 eye glass selection is poor and unlike the pair in the TV commercial. The shinny showcases and white lab coats are superficial as that is done to get your attention. To get anything done you will have to demand and or argue and then STANTON OPTIC AL'S main excuse is... it will have to be approved through corporate, we can't do anything. The glasses are not ready when promised and you are seldom notified when they are ready. The prices are over inflated and the quality of the eye glasses are poor. If unhappy with the price, you can "negotiate" a better one most of the time. The eye glasses I ordered were not made correctly, STANTON OPTICAL told me they were. But I couldn't see... I returned to my eye doctor. and the glasses had been made 180 out. I returned to STANTON OPTICAL and was told my eye doctor is just trying to get me to buy glasses from them... no refund would be given. After having to wait 2 weeks while my single vision glasses that could be made in a day were made, I did without. When you are finally fed up with the STANTON OPTICAL'S service because you have spent over $700 and you complain because you feel you have the right too... you will be given an excuse... the problems occurred because the lab technician's finger was cut and no one was available to work the lab... as if that is your problem? Update..... after many discussions with a Stanton Optical supervisor, my money was refunded--in full and I am able to shop elsewhere. Stanton Optical has 1 (ONE!!) phone number to reach customer service, which is not a real person--it is a voicemail and she promises to get back to you. She never did. She said she did when she was confronted but after carefully checking the call log--she had dialed the wrong number and left a personal message for me on somebody else's phone and never cared enough to check back. I tried finding alternate numbers, that is the only one.... I then emailed the company and got a response 2 days later, which resulted in a refund. read more

I have been doing research to decide which company I should go to for glasses. I had a couple of questions that I thought I could just call the store and ask. Wrong! I was told I would need to come in to get the answers, and then the salesperson on the phone told me she was making me an appointment. I say salesperson because she was determined to get me an appointment to come in. The first time she said she was making me an appointment I explained I wanted the answers to my questions before I make an appointment for an exam. She explained that everyone was different and that the prices vary. I explained that they should be able to explain their promotion of 2 glasses for $59. I wanted to know what range of glasses that the promotion would cover, but I was told again that I would have to come in for an appointment, and that she would make one for tomorrow (today). I told her I didn't want to waste my time if I didn't like the look of the glasses and to just give me a range to look at online. Again with the no, and trying to make an appointment. The funny part was when she asked why I was resistant to making an appointment, but then told me that she was making me an appointment for Monday and if I need to change the time then I could call back. Frustrated, I hung up. Just from this experience I will not do business with this company. When an employee does not listen to the customer, cannot answer basic questions, and tries to push an appointment on you it tells the customer that you are not important. What A Joke! About 12 business days after placing my order I received a call asking about my experience to which I told the lady on the phone how great the staff who helped me was and how I was not finding the selection I desired but that the lady at the store went out of her way to help me find something and how I was SOOO Happy!! That review really made her day and now I understand why. Here it is: In a word 90% of the frames they carry are junk. I ended up at Stanton because the place I preferred to go did not take my insurance and because I buy high index lenses I wanted to be able to use the insurance. I had called Stanton and asked if they took the insurance and they said yes so I went there. I have worn glasses for 30 years and the selection at this store was worse than at an old school lens crafters! Oh and in case they don't tell you, they are considered a "discount" seller so you are buying the floor sample frames off the shelf. Despite all of this I combed through the very limited selection of designer frames they had in the store so I could possibly get my glasses and be done with it since I wouldn't have another chance to use my insurance. Low and behold I come to find out that they did not even accept my insurance anyway! BUT!! Then they pointed out this GREAT DEAL that you can do buy one get one free and it was a direct cost thing so I wasn't going to be forced to get a free pair of crap as my "get one free". Against my better judgment I purchased the frames and lenses and all that. I placed my order on December 6th and asked (since I do not live in the area) if I could pick them up on the 26th. I called the 26th and was told the 30th. Obviously since I am writing this on the 30th, I still do not have my glasses 15 business days (over 20 real days) later. I called today and was told they are expecting them by the end of the week and that they can't give me a pick up date because they aren't sure but they can call me when they are ready... Oh, or they can ship them to me... after wearing glasses as long as I have this was a new one... typically glasses are adjusted when they are picked up. I felt like saying, I'm not wearing these as a fashion statement?! Just today I spoke with a rude associate who told me that my order could not be expedited because everyone else's order was running late too and that she (Amina) "was not going to argue with me about it". When I called back to talk to the manager I got Eric the sales manager who when I asked him for answers he told me he was with a customer and put me on hold. I hung up when the counter on my phone went over 10 minutes. I tried the Arden store, apparently the phone system wasn't working there. I then called the Fair Oaks store... by this point I had read the yelp reviews and was getting more upset by the minute... discounts on frames not offered to me, people not getting the correct cases for designer frames, math not adding up right... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Apparently I paid these people way more than the average person and I have no clue what I am going to get! After roughly 5 minutes on hold with the Fair Oaks store waiting for a manager I hung up and called back. I got Dan. Nice enough but I do not have much faith. I asked for the district manager but of course that guy is so busy that he can only contact you back (you are not allowed to contact him). So here I wait for a call back. If I didn't need new glasses I would probably just cancel the order. Unfortunately, I had thought I was getting something I wanted so I did not even end up using my insurance and now it's too late. This place pretty much sucks. Don't even expect any customer service if you come here. I made a mistake of purchasing a groupon. From the looks of it, it looked like a great deal. $30 for $200 towards (sun)glasses. After buying the groupon, I went to their store and realized their inventory is really outdated. I found may be two cool frames out to 100s. Then they told me I have to pay extra for an eye exam (not included in groupon). I was able to turn in my prescription from my optometrist which saved me that money. But then after including everything (frame, lenses, etc.), I was told I would have to pay another $150 for the glasses (and yes, that's $150 PLUS the $200 credit from groupon). I ultimately had to settle for less expensive average looking glasses to make use of the groupon. read more

I had a very bad experience with this store and the manager Matt. They lost my dads frames and then his glasses. Matt promised him 2 free pair after he paid 150.00 for his pair. I went down to get the 2 free pair which Matt confirmed, a week later after I paid for my eye exam- he told me I had to pay $300.00 for each pair. If we could give no stars we would. My husband went in and got his exam and 2 pair of glasses. He received one pair later that day. He couldn't get the other pair as he was told the machine had broke after he'd been waiting for over an hour for the second pair. Finally after a few days he received the second pair. The next day he noticed the frame was cracked and called the store. The staff member checked and it turns out all the frames in that particular color were cracked in the same location so my husband gave her alternate color choices so they could order the frames and replace his glasses. Needless to say.. it's been well over a month...no call...no glasses..so we are missing one set of paid for glasses meanwhile the pair he does have are already falling apart and the lenses aren't even sitting in the frames correctly. He called today and inquired about where the other pair were and again more excuses about still not having his frames even though they were given several color options to make it easier. He asked if he could just come in and pick out all new frames and was told yes but he would have to pay for the lenses. REALLY?? not happening. We already paid for them in 2 pair of glasses...one of which has not even been replaced yet. Next he asked for a refund for the second pair and again more excuses. He's going to the store himself. It's only been 2 months since the first visit and exam and here he sits with one broken pair of glasses that were suppose to be replaced and the other pair with lenses damn near falling out of the frames. This will updated after today's visit but even with that..we recommend going elsewhere. Run away from this store as fast as you can As promised... I am here to update our review. I found out three weeks ago that my son was going to need to wear glasses full-time. We got our prescription through a pediatric ophthalmologist elsewhere, and I searched over 15 eyeglass places in the local area for a storefront that had the best selection and Stanton had a huge choice of children glasses. (When I went to other places-you have the obvious feminine glasses that would not work for a little boy so that discounts them, and then they have a little baby sizes, which diminishes your choices yet again- but here, they still had tons to choose from). We were initially helped by a gentleman named Cory. Very friendly, greeted us immediately, and I explained our new diagnosis, and our cluelessness of how this was going to work. He looked up our insurance and told us what it would cover and would not cover-and showed us to the children's glasses (which was nice, even though I knew where they were from a previous drop by visit). He gave us space and did not push anything on us, but was still available for questioning. We chose two pairs, and he sat down and did the measurements with our little guy. Due to the high prescription of the glasses, they both needed to be sent out. One came within a week, and the other set came 14 business days later- (which we were told at the start- so I was excited to get the first pair so quickly). The last time we came in to pick up the glasses, we were helped by Patrisha. She was amazing! My little guy was so excited to wear these particular glasses, he was literally running around the store with the biggest smile on his face. She was very thoughtful, friendly and really went out of her way to make both my visit and my sons the best it could be. I could not be more happier. Obviously everyone will go into the store with their own issues-and a lot will depend on your insurance. Glasses are expensive, lenses are expensive, all the additional add-ons are expensive. But for me and my little four-year-old, we were very pleased with our service, and will be coming back. (we did *not* get our eyes examined there-my son needs a special pediatric ophthalmologist). read more

The people who work at this location are by far the rudest most unprofessional group i have been to in a long time. Just walk in and help urself cause u wpuld be getting faster service that way. As a small business owner of two businesses, I'm pretty sensitive about customer service and quality assurance. I ordered two pairs of glasses and set a reasonable expectation about the date they were needed. I wouldn't have ordered the glasses if they couldn't meet the expected date. Suffice to say they missed the deadline by a week providing me with a number of reasons. Once I picked up both pairs I learned one pair had a lens that was too small for the frame and fell out, the other pair did not have the anti glare coating which I ordered and paid for. Ultimately this all got resolved but by now, three weeks had passed by from the agreed to deadline. About a month after that the bridge that connects both lens, broke. I returned to the Roseville location, showed them the problem and was informed they couldn't be fixed and needed to be replaced. The store rep told me, that the frame wasn't covered in my transaction, although it was a defect and the frames would have to be returned to the original manufacturer for warranty replacement but - I would be without glasses for about 6 weeks. As an alternative, they would give me a 50% discount off a replacement pair. I of course never paid the 50% and pushed upstream until I contacted someone in fear of bad PR and they agreed to replace the frames and lenses for about $30. Since then I've been called twice and told they can't meet the latest deadline because of equipment problems. How would you characterize this experience? What would a reasonable expectation be for service and quality control? Many retailers have squandered opportunities to do the right thing and ultimately disappeared Mervyns, Montgomery Ward, Circuit City etc. To succeed in this economy, you have to be extraordinary. Just got into town for my big 30 and broke my glasses. My whole family recommended that I go to Stanton. I walked in and they were so helpful.
