Ok, I've gotten over the last review. It's really ok & clean with helpful-ish staff. Well organized & lit, with a nice selection of items. Location is good for this freestanding store. This staples is by far the worst compared to all others. I seriously think they do not take inventory since they never have what you're looking for in stock. The overhead is bare and even if you come back at a much later date they aim to disappoint by STILL not having what you need. I don't know who is overseeing the glastonbury store but do yourself a favor drive to the Vernon location, even if it's farther since they actually have products. The store in glastonbury is always a disappointment and thats the only thing they can consistently provide incoming costumers. Well looks like I'm headed to Vernon or order off of amazon and wait two days. read more

Go to Newington location and NOT Glastonbury. Any questions, read below. Went in to print something, asked for assistance and was told "we can't help you because we are to busy printing other orders" Ok, I'll use the self service printers. All broken. Ok, I'll use the $0.30 a minute to print my documents. The cost was 2x the other printers to print from that computer. Asked for help, maybe an override since they were to busy and none of their printers worked. Nope. They weren't rude, they simply didn't care or have any emotion that their store print services were broken. Asked to speak to a manager and the employee told me there was nothing the manager could do. Manager came over, no apology, no let me try and fix it, no what do you need printed maybe we can try and figure something out. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place like it has Ebola and go to the Staples in the Berlin Turnpike. How this place has 4.7 stars on Google and the Newington location has 2, doesn't make any sense to me. Newington was a lot cleaner with ALOT nicer employees that understood the basic principle of customer service. read more

I just had a wonderful experience at the Staples in Newington. I was looking for an office chair and found one I liked. It was on sale, but out of stock. I was able to purchase an extra floor model - I was thrilled! I got the sale price, didn't have to pay for or wait for assembly, and Arthur kindly placed it in my car, careful not to place it on the ground so as to not get sand/rocks in the wheels. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Thank you. read more

I literally only write reviews if i'm extremely dissatisfied or extremely satisfied. Today i came here with my dad to get a new printer. we asked for someone to come help us, the cashier told us that someone would come soon. I'm not sure if they are racist but we clearly were here first and the guy went straight to the white people. and then had the audacity to try and say that he helped the wrong people. absolutely disgusted. i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever again. read more

I had to grab a few things here the other night. I wandered around a little bit, and was actually asked if I needed help. This is getting more and more rare from places that aren't paying people commission. I did need help. I needed a bathroom, and the gentleman was nice enough to point out the clean, good-smelling public bathroom in the rear of the store. Staples carries just about anything you would need for working in an office, setting up an office, or doing anything else that requires office supplies. Briefcases, printers, notebooks, desks....they've got it. They've honestly got a huge variety of things in one building. So, I'm checking out, and I witness the cashier maintain the most cheerful, pleasant demeanor while dealing with who was apparently the most important man in the universe. Never looking up from his smartphone, he complained about one thing after another. He couldn't even offer a grunt in reply to her "have a good night." Still, she was smiling the whole time. If your customer service representatives can act that nice while dealing with horrible people, you should start handing out raises. I noticed a sign from the Hartford Advocate proclaiming that this store was the best of Hartford for office supplies in 2011. I can see that. I definitely recommend this location for all your office supply needs. read more

Yay for Staples! Ok, we've all be in this store for office goods. Really great selections on papers, pens and random office gear you can't get elsewhere. You can do better than here for electronics (ie laptops, computers, scanners and the like), but the staff are friendly and pretty knowledgable. Software selection is pretty good, and prices are fair. The printing service center here is great, and they have reasonable prices on exotic papers and archival quality papers/inks. There's almost never a wait, so check them out. Random tidbit to note, the office pro Keurig brewer that is sold here is the high rated on the market. Not something I was expecting, but definitely a plesant surprise. The parking lot can be a bit difficult, as some of the spaces are staggered. Be careful. read more

I have been looking for a new office chair so I went to this Staples because of its size it has a better in-stock selection. After looking for approximately 20 minutes (with no offer of assistance) I selected one and went find someone to ask about delivery, there being a sign in the front of the store saying "Ship from Store. The only salesperson I could find was a cashier at the front door. I asked him if the chair was available at a Staples warehouse. He brushed me off saying, "Check for it online on your phone." He then turned away from me. I turned to my left and walked out of the building. It was close to the worst service I've ever received at a Staples and it cost this store a $200 sale. It's also an example of why brick and mortar retail is dying. read more

I love shopping for office supplies/stationary stuff for work and my home office. I've been in thi Staples about 3 times now. The customer service was excellent. I had 3 employees ask how i was doing, did I need help with anything, including the manager. Plus they always have great deals compared to some of the other office supplies stores. This is my new Staples location since I've just moved here. read more

I took my laptop there to have a suite of virus's removed. I refused to sign up for the 2 year contract at twice the cost. They lost the laptop for a week, finally Female Manager determined it was in the wrong bin. Then they gave me another persons electric cord. Now I find that it was returned with a malware hijacker TROVI. No thanks. Never again. Go to the Middletown Staples for computer repair. read more

The copy and print services are awful. It takes them inordinate amounts of time to get anything done. Every time I've been to this Staples (and I've been there more than ten times) I've seen such long lines at the copy and print center. Several times, I've had to wait more than twenty minutes in that line - even if I just want to ask a simple question. They need to either work faster or hire more people. But wait, there's more - just today I uploaded a poster online for them to print, hoping it would be ready for in-store pickup within four hours (the Staples website states that the printing should take around four hours). I then called the store to confirm this, and they said my poster would not be ready in less than 24 hours! Of course, I understand that they may be busy, but how busy can a Staples store possibly be on a Thursday in mid March? I find it hard to imagine that they cannot find the time over the course of an entire day to print a poster. Not to mention that when I called, I had to wait about five minutes for someone to pick up (five minutes may seem short when I type it here, but when waiting on the phone it is extremely long.). When someone did finally pick up, I put on my most pleasant voice, yet the person's tone was so irritated and impatient and flat out rude; I couldn't believe it. read more

Terrible customer service. Very rude print staff. Daughter went to pick up poster at 2:14 and the staff was short with her. Told her she ordered it too late yesterday for it to be ready by 2. Then told her to come back at 3:30 they would run it after a banner that they were doing. I just arrived at 3:45 to find same rude staff telling me to come back at 8pm. I will never order anything here again. What a waste of my time and gas! read more

Solid staples store. Some employees are awesome but some are non verbal and just rude. Same setup as others so easy in and out.

As the stars say... I've had better experiences at Staples. I use Staples a few times a week, specifically the Copy and Print center to print maps on 11" x 17" blk this is usually a quick turnaround from the time I hand the thumb drive over to receiving my maps. Not here! After 20 minutes of waiting I went to see if the maps were finished, (the usual wait time, at least the last 8 times I've been in) only to find that they hadn't even started to print. Actually they hadn't even started putting the file on the computer. I was a little annoyed, but they were somewhat busy so I understood. For a second time I gave them direction on what I needed printed. Then they asked again 10 minutes later, this was the tipping point for me. After 25 minutes longer they only had printed 10 maps. Once again the usual time to print 150 11" x 17" blk and wht only takes 10-15 minutes. So, I am taking my prints to a more competent Staples team in Wallingford. The problem wasn't that they were too busy to do the work, it was the lack of attention given to the task. There were 3 associates and 1 supervisor working. One associate was correcting something, another one was troubleshooting the self serve and trying to help around the drop off center, the supervisor was doing managerial duties I assume, and the past one, the one helping me, was watching everyone else do there jobs instead of focusing on the task at hand. Their excuse when they couldn't produce was the file was too big; it was the same size as every other file I've had printed and it only takes 15 minutes. This time it took an hour for 10 11"x17" maps. If I were you, I would take my printing to a different Staples. I can only speak from my experience at this store. But, it wasn't as good as the other stores I have been to in the region. read more

The store in Glastonbury is questionable at best, but after this job applying experience, I am now concerned with how they view people and how they treat them. Staples seems like they do not respect people applying for jobs, which makes me question their customer service. They also like pressing people for phone sales, so beware of that as well. I applied at this staples and had to do two interviews. In each interview, the interviewers were making it seem as though I had the job and that I didn't really need to search for any other jobs. They even made it seem as though other people weren't particularly interested in the position. Their tone was that of seeming like I was a shoe in for the position, which bothers me but does not enrage me. However, what did enrage me was when the boss of the store told me in the second interview that I would be getting called back by the end of the week with an offer. I figured that they were going to hire me especially because we were talking about pay at that moment and he had said that the first interviewer would get back to me with "an offer". This offer was mentioned on Monday and I was expecting an email around Thursday or Friday. At the end of the day, Friday, I sent an email asking when I would start among other things and the reply was that I did not get the job. I was livid. It would have been one thing if they had actually told me that I didn't get the job, that's fine, but they said I would be getting an offer while we were talking about pay. I figured that meant a pay offer or a job offer, not nothing which is what I got. So after that I sent a scathing email telling them to call me and asking about this offer and why I am suddenly not getting this offer. The next day they respond and tell me that I was not qualified enough to do the job and that I should "be more patient". I told them that they were unprofessional for telling desperate job searchers that they are going to get an offer(sounds a lot like they meant a pay offer by the conversation) and then suddenly turn that offer into nothing. That is true rudeness. Like I said before, I can handle not getting the job, but they told me I was going to get an offer(sure did sound like they meant money offer) by the end of the week, leaving me to believe I was going to get the job. I had actually stopped job searching because they made me seem so sure, but they ripped the carpet out from under me. They then had the gall to call me impatient after messing with me for two weeks. The job search has been rough, but I have never been this mistreated by potential employers, ever. I had never even raised anything more than okay for not getting a job, but this experience was ridiculous. BEWARE OF STAPLES HIRING PROCESS AND GLASTONBURY STAPLES AS WELL! read more
