They have a party city in there renting space, the balloons 43.00 dollars lasted 1 hour they started deflating 3 were not properly tied to the weights. Balloons on the ceiling. Rude customer service. Never offered to put the balloons in the car. He tried telling me they couldn't do the order after a hour and 45 minutes they had the order. So I guess he threw it together. HORRIBLE!!!! I go to this store because it is geographically desirable however the customer service is a joke. I buy balloons quite often as I am a teacher and I always need them for something. Their procedures is to pay for the balloons first before they blow them up. however after you buy the balloons you will wait upwards of 30 minutes to get them filled up. they don't see filling the balloons as part of the sale and will check out all the other customers in line before they get to you. finally, yesterday I asked to speak to the manager because I had already waited for three people to be checked out. I then got yelled at by the cashier for speaking to the manager. Bottom line they are under staffed and untrained and incompetent . read more

They have caused a long time Staple customer to never shop at any Staples any where. WHY?? I went in to see if I could buy more ink for my 10 year old 4 way printer/ fax. I always got the ink at Staples in Monroe, MI, Columbus Ohio, and metro Detroit. When I didn't see the ones I needed, I asked a worker about that and just said I wanted to try here before Amazon. That idiot made it his mission to sell me ink rather if it was the correct ink. He treated me as a dumb woman who didn't know what I really needed after buying it for 10 years. Pulling it up on their computer system one of the numbers were not even in there. The other had been paired with a similar number but it didn't look right. He said if it wasn't correct, I could easily return it for a refund. HE LIED!!!!! Turns out Staples has closed many stores in Metro Detroit and I had to drive from middle of Detroit to west end of Novi, 10 miles west of where I live. I took my receipts and shipping paperwork, but what would have been a quick transaction, turned into a 25 minutes ordeal for both me and those store employees who tried everything. Staples' computer system made it almost impossible. They even called the Grosse Pointe store and got no answer. Finally, a work around was found and I got my refund. This store looked old and dirty, not like the Staples I have used for years. AVOID!!! read more

Some of the younger staff members in this store, that work the amazon returns, could really benefit from learning some very basic customer service skills, like acknowledging the customer and offering a friendly greeting....instead of just staring and expecting customer to read their mind....a friendly "Hi How Can I help you " or anything like that, so easy and so much better than a stare and raising of the eyebrows......I am getting to the point where I just dont want to deal with these people anymore...basic stuff. This location also does not provide any personnel with a telephone call ahead for reservation as well as details on the policy at this location. there is a manager at this store who has is absolutely awful. On several occasions I have made last minute trips there for odds and ends I cannot get at the local drug store. Sadly I wish I could find toner or the paper I needed at Walgreen's. I won't be back to this store. EVER. This manager named Bob needs a lesson in customer service and employee appreciation. In the few mins I was in the store today after a long drive home in a snow storm I was not impressed yet again. Toady's trip will be the 2nd time I have heard this manager and I use the term loosely speak to an employee in such a way it effects the employee's disposition. When I was leaving the store I heard this manager Bob yelling at the poor snow plow guy about plowing the lot so late, like the snow plow guy can help the weather and driving conditions. That poor guy just stood there kind of taken back by the treatment he got for doing his job. I sent invites, games, tags, etc to Grosse Pointe Staples via the Staples website. I've never downloaded stuff off Etsy and it printed so I was hoping it would turn out. Not only was the website easy to navigate...it was done quicker then the website said it would be. I received a phone call from the store saying I could come pick up my purchase. I loved that because if I went off the emails I received I would have picked it up a day later. When I got to the store it was clearly marked on how to enter the store (always nerve wracking with the new covid rules). I was welcomed by the printing manager who was so friendly and was expecting my visit. She had everything nicely packed up and took a moment still to show me how pretty everything looked. On top of it she cut out all games and tags I printed. Which made my day because I did not expect that! Service poor, store closed before closing and wouldn't let me in. Took 5 minutes before someone would ring me up. Will be heading to Amazon for office supplies. Hard to support local stores with such poor service. I guess Grosse Pointe residents were right when they were so skeptical about having "big box" stores in our area. Today I needed to get some ink cartridges for my printer so that I could print out my assignments for school. I have been procrastinating so I needed to hurry and get them. I would usually go to Wal-Mart because they have a reasonable price of $42.00 Staples was pretty close so I decided to run in there and grab them. I seen that the price was $52.00 and I really didn't want to purchase them. With the way the economy is today, $10.00 is a big difference. I really didn't have time to go anywhere else so I grabbed them and went to the register. When I approached the counter I asked the cashier why was the price so much higher and I told her that they sell the same cartridges at Wal-Mart for ten dollars cheaper. She told me not to worry about it because they price match, so she rang them up for the same price I would have paid at Wal-Mart. She said that I didn't even need a sales ad. This was great customer service so instead of going to Wal-Mart or any other store for my office supplies, I will visit them. read more
