Last time i came in, no one would help me. I stood there a long time in line while three employees helped some guy who looked like a bum try to return something he had broken. Two more were i think staring into space. Finally i cut in with a woman who worked there and asked where an item was. She said "over there" and gestured at the section. Very non user friendly, customer service less than desired but look what they're working with.

I bought a Staples gift card thinking I could use it for cash. The guy stood their as I was buying it knowing full well I wanted to use it for cash but never informed me at that time that not only I can't but that it is non-refundable and cannot be used to buy any other gift cards. It's in the "fine print", that you need an electron microscope to read. Once I realized my mistake I tried appealing to this company, including their corporate office, to reverse the charges and got nowhere. I'm still waiting for the VP to return my call after numerous messages. Now I'm stuck with their sucky gift card. They claim they are all about customer service and relations but that's a lie. Their a bunch of money grubbers and their company SUCKS. If there is any way of avoiding shopping here just our of principle, do so - use Office Depot instead if you can. read more

I needed my logo attached to my microphone for my Radio show ( TakeOverRadioShow.com ) and at first I went to FedEx at the worst experience there the customer service representatives were terrible there wifi was even worse. After feeling neglected I just walked out and didn't say anything to them neither did they. So I went around the corner to Staples where I met Blanca the staples rep. She was awesome! I go to this location frequently to print headshots and occasionally run into issues, that's why it's not a 5 star. Sometimes it take a long time or something isn't working, etc. But Elida always helps me with my printing and she is very kind and helpful and clearly goes the extra mile. This girl seriously needs a raise. She has helped me format, plan, and print items all in a timely manor. Once I had an issue with my credit card, the manager tried to help, but ultimately it was Elida who saved the day. Girl needs a promotion. read more

Horrible service. When you first go in here theirs nobody around to help you. Asked for help in the Copy and Print area and the lady working there was on break. They said to wait 15 minutes. I waited almost 30 minutes. and decided to leave along with my business. This place needs to improve their customer service. Customers should not have to wait that long to be helped. They say RIGHT on their circular "We beat priced by 110%! I went in there today to purchase a bunch of school supplies for a drive and one of the items on my let was the Crayola markers. Mind you, half the Crayola stuff is on sale for less than a buck. Anyway, I get to the register with 4 boxes of markers and they are ringing up $3.99. I politely say, " I believe these are 97 cents"... Naturally, the customer is presumed wrong. I go to the aisle and bring back a STAPLES circular that says 97 cents. After looking completely confused like this was the first time he's seen this, "MOSES" says, "Um, sir...this was from 2 days ago". Forgive me, you all don't clean your store and keep advertisements up to date . None the less, you've already wasted my time and yet, you still won't give me these ridiculous markers for your advertised price. If I wasn't so busy, I would have made more of a stink. So much for customer service. There's an Office Max in Studio City I'd much rather go to anyway. Side note: I hear a woman pleading with the copy center associate for something she so desperately needed and he proceeded to say there were so many jobs in front of her and to go ACROSS THE STREET to the copy center. I found this location to be pretty slow since despite having a lunch hour rush they only had two people working the copy station. The staff was nice and helpful but I wish that they would allow people who sent their order in via online/email to pick up their order without waiting in line with people putting in orders at the store. I thought the point of using the online service was to be able to skip the line. I prefer the Staples store at the Beverly Center Connection they get you in and out lightening fast! read more

Writing to give this Staples a 5. I already thought that the staff here was friendly and helpful in helping me find what I needed, but later in my visit a kind of creepy guy came up to me and wouldn't leave me alone--not taking any hints that I wasn't interested in whatever conspiracy theory craziness he wanted to tell me about. A Staples employee saw what was happening and came over and politely diffused the situation, herding the man away. Sadly, my experience just getting someone on the phone was MORE than enough to make me NOT go to this location. I waiting almost 7 minutes for someone to answer and when I was asking my question was suddenly transferred back to their musical hold without ANY warning, and left to hold ANOTHER EIGHT MINUTES!!!! I called back and asked the associate for her name, and she paused and gave me some name that was barely audible, CLEARLY nervous of her obvious guilt for not doing what they pay her to do!!! I demanded to speak to a manager who answered my question, but not after considerable frustration. I work customer service for a living and THIS place needs to get their act together. My advice? Order on line or go somewhere else, if they can't hire people who can answer a question on the phone God only knows how they run that store. read more

I waited for over 30 mins on HOLD for a manager because I couldn't get through to the copy center. That is a JOKE and a half. so i buy a printer, it doesn't work for whatever reason, i bring it in and all i do is ask what to do. i didn't have a attitude or anything. i was genuinely just looking for some help. there's a manager there, steve, short asian guy, and he didn't want anything to do with me or my problem. he kept repeating that there wasn't anything he or the store could do for me and said i needed to call the printer manufacturer for my complaint. met with his brash rudeness, i asked another guy at the tech support counter, and he was actually super helpful. basically i did need to call a number, but he gave me a pamphlet and showed me who to call. there wasn't much they could do at the store to help me, which i think is crazy to start, that the place i purchased this product from can in no way help me return the broken/malfunctioning product. but either way. staples sucks as a company after this experience. this particular staples sucks even more than the company as a whole. and the manager on duty, steve sucks as far as human relations go. that's all. don't give this place your business if you can. even with their convenient parking lot. smh. read more

I don't really know why this Staples has such bad reviews honestly. I guess some of the cashiers are not too friendly, which may by true. But I always deal with the most pleasant people here. SPECIALLY the young lady who answers the phone at the printing department. She is straight out, helpful and always cheery. She knows her stuff and she always answers questions pleasantly. By far the best customer service out of all the staples in LA, all the staff is friendly and the manager even took the time to tell me since we order so much for our office if we have another wrong order (I was returning ink) we could call to have it picked up. I went to another store prior without my bosses credit card and got turned away even though he knew how much we ordered and he didn't even offer the pick up service. Bought a chair from Staples on line. paid $160 It lasted 10 months the back ripped out of the chair and the arm broke in two. Manufacturer will send replacement parts when I pay to return the broken ones. Took the chair to Staples was told by the manager that since I bought the chair online, there was nothing he could do for me. Contacted their online support and was told to contact the manufacturer, that they would not (could not?) do anything for me. My advise use Amazon, Office Max or Office Depot. Costco and Sams club also have well priced items and care about customer satisfaction. read more

WORST store ever. I placed an online order with store pickup. Went to the store to pick up. They had the WRONG item in the package (the item they told me via email was NOT available) and the item I was being charged for was the one that was unavailable. TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE. And when I asked for some type of store credit as an accommodation for my time wasted (ordering, driving to and from the store to pick up), I was told they would do nothing. With all the online ordering options available today, Staples will be out of business in the not too distant future. They can't even get the easiest of transactions straight. Okay here we go! The reason I'm giving this store 2 stars is the manager Daniella. Absolutely the worst! I bought a brand new ipad 9.7 6th gen online and realized I picked it to be shipped. Since our mailman likes to throw packages, I quickly called staples customer service and changed the order to store pickup. Since they close before i get off work, I asked if my husband could pick it up for me and was told yes, as long as he had his ID. So my husband went to pick it up and daniella the manager refused to give it to him. She told him ( that she didn't believe that he was picking it up for me) even though he had pictures of the online receipt, his ID that has our last name on it and the address on his ID that matches the address i put in online. She also told him that i never spoke to anyone because I didn't talk to her. I'm sorry I called corporate customer service instead of her since I placed the order through the main website, not the store. So she doesn't believe my husband was there to pick a $300 dollar ipad that I bought, he's just a random guy trying to steal an ipad and he's a lair. So i talk to her on the phone and explained everything in detail and she was all yes ma'am no ma'am to me. Then she told me i had to call customer service back and get my husbands name put on to the order?knowing full well they were closed. She also made my husband wait for over an hour while she tried to get ahold of someone on the phone to help her with this whole thing. All the while the other employees were talking to my husband and asking him what was going on and they all took a look at my husbands ID the receipt and told him he had all the correct information and documentation and she should of given him my ipad. She even told him he didn't look like his ID. she said it is store policy. Even though corporate said no problem. He even had the security guard on his side telling her to give him the ipad. This is most absurd experience I've ever had with a store manager in my life. I would like to say thank you to the employees and security guard that helped my husband. read more

This store rarely has the item I need. Further the staff is not that helpful in answering questions or helping you when you need help. You'll find yourself in an isle looking for invisible clerks. And when you do get an assistant, you will get your question answered with a question. What is wrong with answering a question straight forward. Show a little respect. I am not inept simply because I am over 40. I ask you something, you give me an answer. If you say you don't know, but will find out for me. You'll find that I will respect you more too. read more

Not much to say here just your basic office supply store the gentleman at the cash register was a very nice great customer service skills.

I did a print order online and got a voicemail the next morning saying that wasn't the usual paper they use for photos. I didn't call them back because I intentionally ordered it like that. When I went to pickup that afternoon, two girls were sitting there on their phones, laughing and not paying much attention to me or the other customer who was standing there and obviously frustrated. There was one guy who came up to help me but didn't really know what he was doing. He asked the girls for help and they didn't give him much attention or help. When he did find my order, he said only half of it was done because I didn't call back. I asked if they could print it when I was there, since they hadn't done it and he said no. Regardless, they should do the order instead of deciding not to because a customer didn't call back. So...really bad customer service. Go to another store. read more

Today shipped an overnight letter for $20 less than it would have been at Fed-x. That's because they also let me use a $5 coupon in addition to the discount. Their screen repair program is a scam. They are unauthentic screens and they don't stand by their warrantee. Management is rude and unhelpful. My screen broke (was not dropped, just not working). The employee offered twenty percent or to price match. The manager then came over and offered me the percent! They literally have the worst management I've ever seen here. No one knows anything. This place is terrible, they had a laptop on sale today and after I spent an hour comparing them I decided to buy one. No one came to help me during this hour, and when I asked to buy a laptop from the front they were all out, even though it says they have two in the store on the website. The guy (who already tried to upsell me twice with Office and antivirus software before he even looked for the computer) told me that Santa Monica had two of them. I said that it says the same thing here and you don't have any. He asked if I wanted him to call them so I said sure, then he came back with the number of the store written down for me to deal with. I said, "I can't go to Santa Monica tonight, and the sale ends today, can you somehow have them hold it for me at the lower price?" He said, "Oh no, don't worry about it, it will be the same." Of course now on the website it's already $150 more expensive, even though it looks like I could have just ordered it from there for the sale price if I did it an hour ago. Had the most amazing customer service from Danielle on 10/26. Typically in staples or any office supply store I have always had mediocre service. However my interaction with Danielle was far from my usual experience, she went above and beyond. She genuinely wanted to help me and cared about my situation. I wasn't aware I couldn't print a picture on sturdy paper at the customer accessible computer and without even asking she offered to return my money for the time I had spent on the computer trying to accomplish my task. While she was returning my money, she was acknowledging everyone passing by and had such a genuine care for all the customers in the store. So refreshing!!
