I don't like to rate chain stores that often because it's hard to judge a whole brand by one store, but both my co-worker and I have independently had negative experiences running errands here in the past week. We both found the store understaffed, understocked, and the employees rude. The rudeness is probably because they're understaffed and over-stressed and trying to assist everyone. I still didn't appreciate being snapped at to wait behind the "line forms here" sign that was in front of the technology desk when it wasn't clear at all that the sign applied to all of the cashiers and customer service as well. This was after I'd searched for a while for USB drives and found only a small end cap of them and no employees available to direct me to more. When I did find an employee I had to interrupt him as he was restocking, which I felt bad about doing, but there was no one else on the floor. There weren't more USB drives in the end anyway, just that small section I'd found (see "understocked" above). Then there is their parking, which I realize is a temporary situation, but still didn't help my trip go any more smoothly. The lot is being repaved so it's only half open right now and only accessible off of Sunset. This added about 10 minutes to my travel time as I had to wait at a busy intersection to even get to Sunset and then when I got to the parking lot, there were no spots. These are all #firstworldproblems, but Staples is basically the only office supply store around anymore and I'd have hoped a prominent location like Hollywood would have better service. read more

This store service continues to decline, sorry to say. To add to the list of their issues, they now have ridiculously LOUD background music... Come on, guys!! Don't you understand that the background music should be played *quietly*, in the background (not loudly in the foreground! - It's not a party room!) I reported this issue to the corporate office (I was told that the music volume is controlled by the corporate management), but to no avail. During the last couple of visits the store's background music was excessively loud. It is unfortunate - to say the least - that Staples doesn't care about the shopping environment for it own customers! Oh, well,... If that's what you guys prefer (below-average customer service + unpleasant atmosphere with loud "music" beats) - you lost me as a customer. Needless to say, there is plenty of competition nearby! Was looking for a backpack/ laptop case walked through all of technology for a decent priced one an not one associate asked me for help walked right out and went to ross. Rating would be a lot better if there was better customer service perhaps a better management can help turn unhappy customers to happy customers telling a customer how are you or you need any help goes a long way. read more

Tahara Miles, who handles the printing department is fantastic.My wife and I needed Real Estate For Sale signs in a rush. We called and Tahara said to simply bring her a PDF file and she would take care of the job. She printed the signs and mounted them on fiber boards. They were PERFECT. Recently, we needed five copies of a complex multi sectioned document copied, sorted and placed in binders. We took the project to Tahara. Once again a perfect job. It's wonderful to know there is someone you can rely on to get a job done to perfection. read more

I get a lot of my office supplies from here. The manager, Rick, is the best and the staff goes out of their way to help me find things. What ever they do not stock, they can usually get online within a couple of days. Their prices are good and they are willing to price match...it just has to be the same thing they carry. read more

The employees here are SO nice! Seriously blown away that I had to write my first ever yelp review lol I had to print a large format for a project get it lamented and buy printer ink. Usually this would be a mindless errand but the people that work at this store made the experience a happy start to my Friday. The female printing associate was so kind and helpful, the male associate that let me into the bathroom, as well the male cashier who I checked out with. I experienced some of the worst customer service this morning. I walked in ready to purchase a couple hundred dollars in products (Square stand POS system, Square accessories, and office supplies). I'll spare you the details, so long story short: - the young lady at the cash wrap (Amanda?) very rude and very disrespectful. Hardly acknowledged me. Seems like she goes out of her way to maintain a poor attitude. - the young man that helped her with my products...he seemed ignorant as to what good customer service looks like. -They ended up being out of stock of the Square Stand I needed and didn't offer to help me in ordering or finding a staples that does have one. I left all of the purchases there. I don't want to give them my money. - so why 2 stars??? Well the young man that helped me find a printer cord (long hair in a ponytail) was helpful and respectful. I am grateful for his assistance this morning and hope that he realizes he's probably the best thing that store has. read more

This review is specifically for the UPS counter and the dreadful, rude employee that runs it during the day. This can be a painfully slow process, as the same guy that does UPS does copies, so if there's a line in front of you, now is the time to be grateful they have a parking lot so you don't have to run outside frequently to feed a meter. But, even with nobody in front of you, shipping a package here is a multi-step painfully slow process. First, the employee will bring up a screen on his shipping computer, then he will swivel the unit around so that you can type in your name, address, and telephone number. While you are doing this, he will walk away and either help someone else, chat, or pretty much do anything to blatantly ignore you from over ten feet away. It will take you all of 20 seconds to put in your information, but for some reason, this guy must think that no-one knows how to type (perhaps he can't, which is why you have to do it, instead of them doing it, which is standard at most shipping places). After you get his attention to tell him you're done, he will bring up the next screen, where you enter the recipients info, and you guessed it, he will disappear AGAIN for longer than he should. Upon his final return, he will give you all the quotes based on different delivery options, select one, he puts it in, and gives you a receipt. But, you don't get to just pay him, you have to wait for the register 2 feet away to be available and someone else will ring you up. It's been like this 4 times, so it can't be just a fluke. Surprised by all the negative reviews. I was just in here this morning, first time ever shopping there, because I needed a new laptop for work. I am actually typing this on my brand new laptop. I found the staff here to be more helpful then Best Buy and it seemed like they listened to me and gave me what I wanted, not what they WANTED to sell me, something I love. They didn't try to get me to buy a more expensive laptop and I was able to stay in my budget. Shout out to Anna, Valerie and, unfortunately I forget his name but there is a really nice guy who helped me initially in the computer section before getting Valerie to complete the sale. read more

Paul in printing is great! Very helpful. Kind. Efficient. All the things you want an employee to be. Can't say the same for the other staff. I waited just over an hour for printing. When I asked the three employees standing and talking to each other behind a computer if they could help me they said, "No. But Paul can." Paul was helping other customers. Ok honestly the fact that I am able to not only sign up for a yelp account, download the app, and draft a review all while waiting for two one page documents to e printed and faxed should tell you all you need to know about the quality of customer service here. I usually hate people bitching on yelp, but honestly if I can save someone from wasting 40 minutes doing something I could have done in 10 minutes down the street at FedEx Office, I feel like it is my duty as a good citizen to do so. When I got there, there was only one other person but the girl behind the counter already seemed confused and overwhelmed. She was smacking gum loudly and wandering aimlessly like she was lost. Furthermore, she hopped from customer to customer so that nobody got their orders placed in a timely manner. Run, don't walk, to FedEx down the street for your copy needs. I got here at 12:30 and it is now 1:15 and despite my order being done (finally) five minutes ago I am still waiting to pay. In the midst of checking me out, she has walked away three times. I'm not sure if she's stoned or just has a serious case of ADD. Good lord! read more

I've purchased 3 laptops from this location since 2014 and have always had a positive experience with its IT Dept. Yesterday, I brought my 3 yr old HP 14" laptop in for a tune-up with questions about speed and chronic connectivity issues. Geoffrey responded with several possibilities and rule out theories. He did so thoroughly and patiently and was a pleasure to work with. I felt completely comfortable leaving my 14" laptop at the store, one that I use constantly for business and/or personal. Let me preface by saying I called the Staples Copy Center at the Beverly Connection with my question first. I asked if they could copy a DVD that had photos on it. She said, "no we don't do that." I asked if she knew of anywhere that did, she said, "if you search online you can find places that do" I said, "your website says you do, which is why I'm calling" She repeated, "no, we don't do that" and hung up on me. Next I called this Staples, the guy who answered the phone first asked me how much information was on the DVD, then said 4GB was too much for his computer to handle but he could try to do it anyway. He said it would take a long time and that he might not be able to copy the whole thing. Then, without me even having to ask, he mentioned a place right up the street from them that can provide the service I'm looking for. This second call was so simple, yet compared to the first call felt so helpful that I was moved to Yelp about it. A little courtesy goes a long way and will make me come back to this location next time even though it's farther away from me. read more

Came here after calling ahead to see if they had a paper in a certain size. The employee said they did, but when I arrived, it's turns out he was mistaken. No big deal, it's all how things are handled. That being said, the assistant manager was quick to resolve my problem by going the extra step and offering to cut the paper down to size. He was also kind enough to discount it for the inconvenience. I had noticed a customer nearby arguing with him prior to when I walked up, And I can tell the gentleman was being irate and unreasonable. I am sure Jonathan has to deal with this on a regular basis, but he handled it with decorum and moved on to me, and absolutely took care of my needs quickly and efficiently. One star for the employees' inability to multitask. My bff and I came in to print resumes yesterday and left empty handed. We sent our documents to the printing email and we still had to wait in a never ending line; what's the point of creating an "easy" avenue of printing if we had to wait still?? The store was fully stocked with employees yet we were never greeted or helped. The employee with the Dodgers jacket walked pass the growing line not to help out but to chat with her friend at the printing station. The young lady with the curly hair allowed a customer to take a bathroom break in the middle of her transaction without taking the next customer behind her....huh?? Some poor guy waited forever just to pay! We saw this and decided to leave, didn't want our time wasted any longer. read more

Before going to a Staples, I highly suggest you check the prices on the Staples website first. ******CONSUMER BEWARE******** In-store prices on items may be higher than the same items sold online. Same store. Same items. Different prices. I found this out when I went to the Staples on 6450 Sunset Blvd to purchase 3 Brothers toner cartridges (TN225C, TN225Y & TN225M). Advertised price online is $70.89. Price in store is $99.99 -- $29.10 MORE per item. Had I not checked online before going to the brick & mortar store, I would have paid nearly $90 more for all 3 items! I brought this to the attention of the store clerk. She asked me for proof and told me they would look it up 'just this one time' as a courtesy. When she confirmed the lower price, I had to wait for a manager to come to approve the "price match" (Staples is competing with Staples). I asked the manager why Staples charges different prices for the same item. Her reply was that it happens, shrugged it off and claimed it was not her responsibility. In fact, she didn't care at all. Maybe this is why companies like Staples are falling victim to Amazon. Why bother stepping foot inside a Staples when customer service is so abysmal. That's it Staples -- no more. I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of service here. Jose in the easy tech provided some of the best service I have had in a long time. Especially As a non-tech person everything was so easy and convenient. He was really attentive and clear. Both him and the woman that were there working together had really comfortable chemistry. They were able to fix my phone and work with me promptly regarding what they could do for me. Only $129.00 to get my phone fixed, without the long line and needed appointments at Apple. I don't know why this place doesn't have good reviews. I have come in here before as well, was the same level of high quality service. Both employees and environment was an A+ for me. read more

We both agree that staples sucks and should be closed . Which grabs the attention of period girl . (5 feet away) she of course becomes helpful at this point. This is probably the WORST Staples I have ever been to. I came in about 8:00 pm looking some gold colored seals called "Notary Public Seals". Greg T., the employee, first said he didn't know what I was talking about. I finally found the seals on my own. I go to check out and a nice lady, who told me she was in training, proceeds to help me. She had some questions and asked Greg to help. Greg ignored her and finally my husband had to yell out his name in order for him to listen. He comes over to the register and very rudely says, "I'm talking to my manager!" I would think his manager would like for the store customers to be taken care and be asked to wait. This store is always inconsistent with their service. I have been into this location twice. Every employee there has a vacant expression and is borderline rude. Worst customer service. The first time I went in there, I was trying to get help scanning a few documents and was trying to find an employee to help me. I was just ignored. After standing there for 10 minutes, I just walked out. I just now left there moments ago today and I was wanting specific change and making a return. I could tell the guy was very annoyed with his dull expression and said, "i'm gonna have to call the manager. It's going to take a long time." He didn't say anything else to me.
