I come to staples when I need a specialty item because the prices immediately let you know that this is not exactly a place you stop in to browse. That being said, I have purchased an office chair here in the past that I absolutely love and have had signs made here on multiple occasions that I am also very happy with so, when it's worth it, it's definitely worth it. The fact that this location has become an Amazon return spot has definitely increased the amount of people I see inside now which is great for them and also convenient and cost effective for people like me. I also noticed when I was there yesterday that they now have a full Party City inside the store. Like, you can go in and get helium balloons and all kinds of stuff for parties and events. Being a person who shops at party stores, this is very convenient for me and I will probably return here first next time I need to browse for party stuff. I went in to do an Amazon return of a comforter. ELSA was extremely rude telling me she couldn't take it back if it didnt fit in their box. It fit no problem! I said oh great it fits no problem. She then proceeded to tell me in a snarky voice thats the only thing that will fit in the box! And I should have shrink wrapped the comforter. Im sorry, I didnt realize ELSA paid postage on my Amazon returns. ELSA needs an attitude adjustment. She was rude and not friendly. read more

I was surprised to see that they now have a Party City inside the store. Great for when you need balloons or decorations or banners for your party. Their prices are a little higher than others. I originally went to Staples to drop off an Amazon return, and the process was quick and easy. I had no idea my return could be so easy. Of course, I ended up wandering the store afterward and found way more good deals than I expected. They had clearance items, school and office supplies, and lots of fun little things I definitely didn't need but somehow still ended up buying. It's one of those places where you go in for one thing and leave with a few extras because the prices and selection are good. Customer service is descent when you have a question about in store products, but the printing area is unprofessional. Customers stand in line and are ignored whilst the two Latina employees chat and are not told the price of the print job until it is time to pay. I did an online order for return address labels - a surprise for my 92-year-old dad who is in assisted living and really really cares about his mail. Beware of shipping anything of any value from this location. There is at least one thief working there. My package was securely sealed and would not have simply come open. And, if it had been opened, there is no way that the item within could have fallen out by itself since it was very tightly rolled within a reinforced mailing tube. The thief broke the seal, removed the item, and then replaced the top which would have then been loose. Per UPS, the package was found with its top missing and empty. Unfortunately for me, UPS will only cover $100 and my item was worth many times that amount. And yes, I was very lax in not insuring it--but that doesn't excuse the thief. read more

I don't need to go to a place like Staples too often, but I've recently found out they have a number of services, from printing to scanning, that you can handle if you are on the go and in need of taking care of some important documents in a cinch. I've used Staples to print out and scan papers I needed sent in on a quick deadline, recently, and they've absolutely delivered. Best of it, it seems like this service is available at all of their locations. I can't speak to the pricing or service outside of their print and go station, but the staff at this particular location is always friendly, welcoming me with a "hello," asking me if I need any assistance, and wishing me a nice day upon exit. I should probably cave and just get my own printer, at some point, but let's face it. Printers are difficult and don't always work. Staples comes through, though. Will I use their service again? Way back in the early 1990s, I saw Staples and Circuit City shopping centers popping up all over the Philadelphia area. They were competitive and they had great products and even had reasonable prices. Today, it's so different. Staples is expensive, and seems a take-it-or-leave-it company. When I visited this location, I expected to not find what I wanted--wired shelving that showed up on their web site--despite, their horribly twisted search functionality. I practically took an inventory of the whole store, and of course, I didn't find what I wanted. I found several other items that were interesting, but I left without buying anything. I'm an IT professional from Santa Rosa (2+ hours away), who personally likes shopping at my local store, and often drag my friends and clients in for a better deal on hardware that the store that has the "peek squad". More than 14 days ago (as I learned), I had sold a friend on an HP desktop that was ideal for his situation. Set it up, and all went well, until yesterday, when the unit had overheating problems. Talked to "Jason" (IIRC) there, and, as a matter of professional courtesy, he said he'd swap the drive from the overheating box, into a new one, and forgive the $70 fee (Yeah!), as long as it was within the 14-day window for DOA's and returns. Turns out (whoops!) it wasn't bought 13 days ago, but 19. One of those nastys that happens. Hardware that works past a month usually works for years after that, and we were in the "twilight zone". Jason to the rescue! He worked The Rules, sold an extended warranty after-the-fact, swapped the drive, and saved my client the cost of ME coming out to deal with it. DA(rn)! It's been awhile since I bought that Nexus 7 tablet. Several business decisions were made at Staples since then and I don't like any of them. First off, they stopped selling Western Digital internal and external hard drives. This is insane to me. My family and I have never owned a Seagate hard drive that lasted longer than one year. Meanwhile, my portable WD external is still going strong after 4+ years. Second, they're pushing towards the gaming chair market. There isn't a single feature a gaming chair possesses that a quality office chair already has and with a lower price. If your favorite e-sport team logo means that much to you then more power to you. For everyone else, it's a waste of space you'll stare at on the way out. Finally, and this my personal opinion, I don't believe they've kept up with pricing against other competitors. Almost every item I was interested in was cheaper in Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, or B&H the moment I searched for them on my phone. You will notice that these issues are company wide issues; they have nothing to do with this local branch. Yet, these problems are driving me farther and farther from returning for even just a minute of window shopping. It's just unfortunate. read more

Any Staples I go to has bad customer service period. I'm wrong and they're right. Sometimes they don't honor advertised sales and coupons. I guess a few weeks ago all the planets and stars got aligned because they actually let me stack all these coupons and rebates that shot down the price of a laptop to $270. The deal was too good to pass up, so my older brother bought one also. My brother and I felt like we just robbed the place when we walked out of there. It's the usual office supply store. We've gone there for file boxes, office supplies, furniture, etc. etc. Employees on the floor are usually helpful when I try to explain what I'm looking for (even when I use vague "girl terms" instead of what the item is actually called), tho my husband - serious computer geek - gets frustrated at their lack of computer knowledge from time to time. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I walk through all the rows of pretty office supplies and organizers. Have to be careful, because they aren't cheap. Go to the back right corner of the store to check out their clearance stuff - sometimes some good things buried back there. Must RAVE about the printing department. I go there from time to time and get flyers and the like printed. The employees in that section are friendly, helpful and really know their stuff. Went there yesterday with a .pdf on a flash drive that I needed a dozen copies of immediately, and even though I embedded the fonts, and it was displaying correctly on the screen, it was screwing up when it printed. Their representatives are very helpful, won't leave you stranded, the same when ordering over the phone. I'd ordered 25-50 flat mailers that showed would accept a regular sized sheet of paper. When I got home and tried, the mailer missed in width by 1/2". Called back to report misstated size, they told me to keep/throw out the mailers then proceeded to refill my order with the correct size and at no extra charge! read more
