Hey Staples, I don't what or who you use for training your employees but you should make it available to all stores. I've never been disappointed with the service and help I've needed when I use your stores. And I mean all over the country. Yesterday I had to go into Staples to print out some unique gift ideas and Ethan at the massapequa, New York store. Was there on Father's Day doing the job of six people never lost his composure always had a smile and w stone there left feeling they got the personalized service that one would hope to get when doing a project like that. These are the type of kids you need to reward with raises and promotions. He had that entire copy center on lockdown with seven different Father's Day projects going and got them all done correctly with patience and worked with the customers. This is truly an unusual site these days as kids have kind of lost that work ethic, drive and sense of urgency. WOW just WOW of all the places I have ever shopped at this place has to be the absolute worst. LAZY LAZY LAZY Manager is lazy and so are the other workers. Went in to buy a desk chair. Seen a couple online and wanted to test fit them. Found one I liked online, inventory said they had four in stock. Drove over to look at it. Could not find the display model on the floor. Went up to the counter to ask for some help. Woman said her coworker would meet me by the chairs. So I went back and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Keep in mind the store was empty. There was one other customer being helped by the photo copy counter, Finally the employee comes back to the chair section. I show him the webpage on my phone, ask where this chair is on display. He says we don't have that chair. I say it says you have four in stock. Now he actually looks at my phone and at the chair I was interested in. He does a quick spin around says give me a minute and walks off. Another employee comes over about three to four minutes later and asks me if I was the guy looking for the chair. I say yes. He looks up at the top shelf and says nope don't have it. I said ok well how about this one? He says nope don't have that one. But then says you can just buy it online, its easier for everyone that way. Or if you want you can try the Farmingdale location. I said thanks and walked out, While I don't shop at Staples often, I can guarantee I wont ever be shopping in a Staples again! read more

I believe this was my first time visiting this location today and it wasn't the best experience. I walked up to the printing services counter and made sure to stand a safe distance away from the customer they were assisting to wait my turn. There were two employees helping one person, which is fine. However, they didn't greet me and at no point was my existence acknowledged let alone ask me what I needed help with. After it became clear that I wasn't a priority, I started to read signs on the counter and was able to find one in particular that provided instructions on how to use the self-service printer. I will say that a different employee altogether made it a point to wish me a good evening with a smile on her face as I exited the store, which I greatly appreciated after the unpleasant experience I just had. read more

It's a decent run of the mill Staples, nothing out of the ordinary. I think what makes or breaks it is the help you get from an employee. Some are willing and quickly can help, while others choose not to multi-task. Good: -Big parking lot -The center to print, and make copies I found to be user friendly Bad: -Not sure if all the workers are busy, or the store is understaffed -Checkout lines look discouragingly long when all you want to buy are a pack of pens read more

I was just at the Staples on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa. Needed a printer. Found one on display that I wanted. Store was practically empty, no one on the floor to assist. Asked someone at the desk for help. He gave me a dirty look and said he woud get someone. He disappeared. Waited 15 minutes, no help. I left., What a waste of time. Don't know how they stay in business. Came home and bought the printer on Amazon. read more

All I have to say is that Claudia is amazing !!! I needed to use their printing services for my cousins bridal shower to print out some games etc. I got a little lost on their website trying to figure out to get what I needed. I had never done this before so this was my first time ever using staples website. I walked in to pick up an order I placed being it was simple to order, but picking it up I wanted to speak with someone on how to get two different sizes of other prints. I had brought my computer and Claudia immediately knew how to get what I wanted. In a matter of minutes she showed me how to get exactly what I imagined. She was so beyond helpful and extremely nice to say the least. If you are confused or struggling, Claudia definitely will get you what you need! read more

I've owned my printer for a few years and never had one problem until today. My whole morning was wasted thanks to a tech nightmare with my printer. It simply will not work! No matter what I tried, I could not get it to print. However, thanks to Staples, today's nightmate ended on a very positive note! I was pressed for time and had no other options for printing a usps label with enough time left to make it back to the post office other than to head to Staples. I like this location because it usually isnt swamped. Time was indeed running out! This is also the last weekend before Christmas and the post office is a zoo! A nice young man named John helped me and also informed me that Staples can mail my package! Who knew??? Talk about saving me a lot of time and save me from enduring the stress of the long lines at the post office! I was in and out of Staples within 10 minutes! Talk about a Christmas miracle! Just came here on a Saturday afternoon. The staff was available to help which I love. When we couldn't find what I was looking for he called over a manager who came within 2 mins and pointed out what I needed right away. I went to check out and the cashier was super friendly and in a great mood. Loved that! Definitely brightened my day. Store was neat and organized. The back smelled kinda musty but overall it was a perfect experience. Glad to see this old staples looks nicer on the inside than it does on the outside. I needed to print a poster in a larger size and I wasn't sure how to do it! I went into the store and Faith was extremely helpful and so patient! She explained all my options, all the different types is paper and which was best for which kind of printing. Even offered her suggestions so I went with her guidance. The final product turned out amazing (especially because I was in a time crunch and waited until the last second!) she was so helpful and amazing I only ever want to go back and do future projects with Faith ! read more

I honestly don't understand why this staples has so many negative reviews. The place is also super organized and clean, the staff always answers the phones and is willing to help in any way and the print department people ARE FANTASTIC. I am always going for printing needs and I have had so many awesome experiences. Flavao is one of my favs of the printing department. He is so sweet and willing to help with anything. I have to mention this mans patience.... he has the patience of a saint. I am quite annoying and ask a million questions and he's always been so patient and helpful and it's so funny to watch him work because some customers ask such bizarre things and he remains calm and cool. I respect that. Be anyways, he's super knowledgeable and amazing at making sure whatever job he does is finished and perfect. I greatly appreciate his efforts in ensuring good quality prints and services. 10/10 to you flavao and 10/10 to this staples for the awesome staff they have :) Update: just went back to pick up my prints. I messed up the sheets I already had and they fixed them for me and LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE. John is another staff member that's godly and he is so sweet and informative and PATIENT. Office Depot has closed and just recently OfficeMax has joined them. Does anybody think that Staples isn't in trouble? I've been to two of them today and merchandise is not on the shelf, the products which can be purchased exclusively at Staples are in short supply, there are very few customers, extremely few staff and the young Lady who rang me up was virtually asleep in doing so; can't say as I blame her, when it's quiet and the music is playing softly I tend to doze myself. Now sadly, it turns out Staples has entered the highly sought after and highly competitive cell phone and tablet screen repair game. But before you think that can save them, hear this: I inquired about their price to fix a 2 1/2 year-old iphone 5C with a crack in the screen; $99 and they'll do it while you wait. Of course they'll do it while you wait. If they let you get out of the store, you'd probably run into somebody who would tell you what a rip off you are suffering! $99 to fix the phone of which you could buy two of them at that price? All I can say is, consider how few things you would really go to a Staples rather than a Target or Walmart, a dollar store or CVS for. There ain't much anymore. Small stationary stores that have been put out of business over the past 30 years are probably somewhere rejoicing. RIP office supply giants. read more

This review is for the print section of Staples. We went to Staples to print our Save the Dates. We originally had them done at Kinkos in Hicksville, which we loved the quality of the print as well as the service we received there. We live in Massapequa, so we decided to try Staples instead for the revised dates. Bad decision. They charged extra to cut the invitations (kinkos used a high tech machine to cut ours at no extra charge), and said it was a drop off service. We said we would cut them ourselves using their facilities to save time and money. Little did we know the cutter they had for you to use was a cheap, plastic paper cutter they probably grabbed off the shelves. Needless to say, it completely butchered one of our invitations. Luckily, my fiance has a giant paper cutter at work, similar to the one kinkos offered customers to use for free. Even though I paid for the now ruined invite, it wasn't as big of a deal since we printed a couple extra. The staff we experienced was rude, unhelpful and you could tell they didn't like their job. Normally I dismiss stuff like this, but when I had such great service at Kinkos I felt like I didn't want other people to go to this staples and COMPLETELY waste their money. We wish we sucked it up and went out of our way back to Kinkos. It would have definitely been worth it. read more

Haven't been to this Staples in quite a while but went the other day to see if they can blow up a picture of my friends face so he can see my sign when running in the NYC Marathon. I had a picture blown up two years ago which came out great and decided to give it another try. I went into the Massapequa location and the young boy helping me in photo was nice, told me he would blow up the picture, etc. The picture cost around $10 and was 18 x 24, yet can be fuzzy depending on the type of picture you give them. I was not pleased with how the picture came out since my friends body was still in the picture and I originally said I only wanted his head to be big in the picture. There was a lady working in photo that told me she would fix it no problem and within an hour later, I had a new picture made with just his head blown up! Not sure when I would need to go back to Staples, but wouldn't mind getting something blown up here again in photo. They were quick, understanding, and prompt. read more

Worst run store I've ever been too. It measures on the level with any Walmart. It's no wonder this company is doing poorly financially. Every time I have to bear the burden of coming to this place it takes 15 minutes just to check out. There are plenty of employees milling around but none ever notice that there are 4 people waiting on line for 10 minutes or more. There is constantly a low IQ running the register and there's always a problem. And suddenly 3 people show up to handle the same problem, but never to run a register. Corporation should come in and fire everyone and just open the doors and let people freely help themselves, it'll probably run more efficiently. read more

I have used this store for years for Copy & Print Services. Past couple of years I have found it very difficult. There's usually a long line of people at the Copy & Print counter with one teen / young adult working the department. Absolutely No criticism of the employees - I've watched them juggle the needs of 4-5 customers at once, jumping back and forth to help as many people as quickly as possible. But they are clearly overwhelmed. My complaint is where is the management? When a backlog occurs in any department of the store a manager should be stepping in to assist. They should also be calculating their busiest hours of the day and scheduling appropriate staffing for those times. I feel bad for the employee that gets stuck there with no help. I also dislike waiting on a line for 30 minutes just to pick up an online order. read more

I went to staples a few weeks ago and was greeted by the friendliest cashier I have ever encountered. Her name was Meryl and she was very friendly and courteous. Mixed feelings. Staples has everything including good tech support on computers, printers etc. Matt was great. He explained the differences, left the decision up to me. When it got down to getting back up, mouse etc he made it clear what was technical and what was personal preference. Pleasant, no push. Ive been using computers for years so it was fast where I'm knowledgeable and no rush when I asked a question. He gets 5 stars. Watch out for Correy. He's pushy. He's disrespectful. I came in to return something I'd spoken to him on the phone about and been there twice and he stopped the return to tell me how wonderful the machine I was returning was. I just didn't want it.He didn't understand "No". He held up the sales associate at the register 45 minutes while I just wanted to get out. He treats customers with no respect. He told me a $500 machine looked just as good as a Macbook. I was replacing a Macbook so I knew they didn't look alike. He told me it was looked the same as the computer I'd decided to buy instead. He didn't know the specs? But you can't lie about numbers and when the number of pixels ion the screen was different, the nice got my own two eyes. I just didn't like the way it looked. He held me up for 45 minutes trying to convince me that a computer Id tried to return two days before I should take home and "could always bring back" it was my third attempt today to return it and I'd called the Staples main office before going. That's how impossible this man is. I like Staples and have gotten great service. Just get Matty and avoid Correy and you'll be OK. read more

Don't ship anything here. First time I waited because my package wasn't pre labeled. I then waited while the shipping associate helped 3 people who came after me. I decided to give it a second chance. Same exact thing. You're better off going to the post office or an actual ups location. read more
