i am a student nearby and this location is the closest most convienient printing place, HOWEVER... i will NEVER again get anything printed there. this past week was the 3rd time they have lost my flashdrive; losing all of my work i have poured hours of hard labor into ALL LOST. unprofessional, untrustworthy, uncapable. Please don't go to this store expecting to price match any other store. I too had terrible customer service at this store! Store manager would not price match Amazon. Their policy very specifically states that they price match items "Shipped and sold by Amazon." However, when I got to the store, I was informed that they would not price match because the item, which WAS shipped and sold by Amazon because the item had prime shipping! (Please tell me what item is shipped and sold by Amazon that does not have prime shipping?) If this is their policy, it's not written anywhere and deceptive! Oh well. Staples now loses my office's business, and I'm happy to shop elsewhere. You'd think brick and mortar stores would be trying to accommodate customers, not turn them away! Staples is an awful company. They will take orders for products they don't even really sell or carry, then bait and switch you after unilaterally cancelling your order (without notification). They will also spam your phone with calls after the fact. I will never order from a staples again. read more

This Staples is not as horrible as I had expected it to be from reviews. I had to get a book unbound to put in a binder and they were able to get the job done painlessly and for only $2.18. As far as school supplies go, they had a very wide selection of binders, pens, highlighters and post-its. I was actually pleased with the customer service. I had two associates ask me if I needed help finding anything (and I did, the store is 2 floors!) I do have a weakness for new school supplies, so maybe I am just feeling extra sunny after my stop in here. I would go again and recommend to a friend! read more

This isn't a bad place. I'd give it three stars. When I walk in I don't have a problem getting assistance from their employees - usually in less than a minute. Check out is fairly quick - even when it's busy. They have two floors and a elevator. They have a pretty good selection of Memory Cards too. Earlier i had purchased a desktop and had difficulty in importing files and email, but a note to corporate suggesting some changes was immediately followed by a strong and positive response at the store and in particular through the regional manager, Stephanie Lehn who went out of her way to reach a very positive conclusion. Called ahead to let them know I was coming for a large number of copies. When I arrived, the guy couldn't have been nicer. He told me that I may have to come back the following day to retrieve my 2000 copies. I was pretty impressed when after only 25 minutes, my order was complete, which equals one happy girl! I live near this Staples so I come here for things that I need, they came in handy for boxes when I moved. I've found the copy and print services to be a bit frustrating. Last week, I needed a document downloaded from an email and faxed. I asked the copy and print associates to please help me but they were too busy! So, I got frustrated using their machines trying to do this with a pre-authorization on my debit card of $5, which I think is ridiculous. Why don't they just charge you the amount of your print job rather than pre-authorizing it? Finally I got frustrated enough that a representative helped me and was able to print out the Word document. Why make me go through such a hassle to begin with? I also think that their faxes are expensive. If you have a lot of faxing to do, go to John at Rittenhouse Press! You'll save quite a bit of money. I think next time I need something printed, I'll go back to Rittenhouse Press or UPS. read more

I was racing against the clock last week when I arrived new to the city and found out suddenly I needed to print, sign and scan documents from an email attachment in order to sign a lease. As I'd been living in Europe, I didn't yet have the technical ability to do that so ran to the nearest Staples. The two staff people at the counter I was directed to were about as disinterested as it gets. I think the female in particular went out of her way to avoid eye contact, to turn away when I asked her for help, and then grunted out a few monosyllabic instructions to do it myself. I had 45 minutes to the deadline so asked if she could help, and I'd be glad to pay for the service. She looked at me like I'd asked her to lick the pavement. I tried to follow her instructions for the DIY service, but encountered the same problem the other two customers sitting at the other stations were having - the system wasn't working as per the instructions. Starting to get a little frantic, I firmly requested that the other staff person help me by coming over and showing me (and the others) how to print from email . When he tried, he found that the system wasn't working. Rather than being apologetic, he expressed annoyance, like we were really inconveniencing him. He eventually tried something else and got mine but not the others to work, but then it failed again as soon as he left. I'd wasted half an hour by now and spent money for absolutely nothing. I could see I wasn't going to get any more help from the dismal duo, so ran out, found a Fed Ex office where a lovely manager helped me accomplish my mission within the deadline while helping about ten other customers at the same time, all on his own. I always come to this staples because it's somewhat close to me and I only come here whenever I need to print I've never had a problem up until today I'm not sure if there's a problem with the email/printing systematic emailing but for some reason none of my emails where coming back to me the guy seemed like he didn't really care much said well Gmail takes some time to come through I told him I've never had to wait an extended period of time to receive an email back so I got my sister to send me an email and it came through within a minute so then I'm standing in line waiting for someone to help me but the employees don't seem to want to be bothered with customers if your not buying or picking up items read more

The staff on the first floor in the back are TERRIBLE. The guy today made me feel bad just for asking him to open the case and get a flashdrive. The lady at the check-out counter said there were FOUR guys back there but it was a challenge just to get the one guy who I saw to do anything at all. They act like it's an inconvenience to assist. Five stars for this Staples store! They go the extra mile to provide quality service. My visit here was as an out-of-towner traveling on business. I am an educator by profession. I needed a computer backpack and wandered in after trying unsuccessfully to purchase a backpack at Modell's (someone had recommended this place). I was greeted inside and when I couldn't find backpacks I was told to go upstairs. There I found two racks of backpacks identified two promising possibilities. I couldn't find a price so I asked another worker who told me to go down stairs to the registers and that they could help me. The manager had another worker help me and in the process another worker overhearing my conversation and that I was a teacher came over and offered me a teacher's bag (It is teacher's day at Staples a ritual I never miss if I can avoid it) and a $10 coupon. I was so touched by their kindness. They even looked up my Staples teachers card and double bagged my purchase. Thank you all so very much for making Philly's Staples my favorite Philly store! I loved getting a print job done here. Initially it was tough to print my document because of a rare paper size and a unique font. My pdf would print strange, don't ask me why? But Rei-Rei who was helping us at the printing counter was super patient through it all while we tried to work out a better solution to print on the Staples system. She made sure I got my work printed and even refused others who came in after me because she knew I'd need more time on mine. Eventually when we finally managed to get everything where it should be, she even gave us additional copies so we weren't short on anything. It was the first snow day in Philly and Rei Rei made sure we were covered. Thank you. I got an A on that paper. read more

I stopped by to print a document at the self service and have been confounded by the lack of knowledge and help. My job has been queuing for over five minutes and the technician is unable to provide an estimate of time to completion. Not only that he was unwilling to print the job behind the desk. If you are looking for quick and easy try someplace else. read more

Got SUPER service from Tracy - she was infinitely patient as I pulled up my Staples email coupon on my iPhone - happily this branch has their own WiFi service, because there wasn't much of a phone signal. I was shopping for ink, found it on the website, then decided to pick it up.
