I went here for an Amazon return. No line, very efficient. Counter associate seemed bored, but did put a piece of tape on the package, which was nice. The return was processed quickly. They don't give receipts with coupons at this location, or maybe it's system-wide now. Associate told me that the receipt would be emailed. Meh. But I did get the refund, so all is well. Was happy to see that Party City is now at Staples! While I have a stash of birthday candles and plates, it's nice to see that they're not completely gone. Looks like they have a lot of balloons. I didn't have time to explore the store, but they're ready for back-to-school. Lots of sales on school supplies. read more

Let's talk about Matt - the bigger guy with curly hair. Rude, obnoxious, and antagonistic. He was talking to someone as I walked up to the counter about how bad his day was and how much he wanted people to stop talking to him. Not what you want to hear! I gave him my Amazon return and, without a word to me, he processed it and then walked away. No "thank you for using Staples", no "you're all set", no "how's your day?" or "have a good holiday weekend". Just nothing. Staples has jumped the shark. They can be beaten on price and ease of delivery by others. Their in store selection is variable. The only good thing is that they employ local people. I buy stuff there once in a while. It's a crapshoot if what I need is in stock. read more

Walked into a freezing store and went to the carts inside. Just 4 carts and all of them were filthy and not working properly so I had to grab one of those little brown plastic baskets with the wheels and handle you pull. Those baskets were filthy as well. Is it too much to ask for you guys to clean up the carts? I went up to the register to pick up my 2 online orders that I placed the day before and received the email that they were ready for pick up. I showed the cashier the email I received stating my two orders were ready for pick up so he leaves the register and goes into a room comes out with a box. I don't know what's in the box so I have to take his scissors and open it and I don't see the stapler I ordered so I tell him it's missing and he's telling me the item was probably not in the store at the time and it will be delivered to my address instead and I said no, the email says it's ready for pick up, meanwhile, he walks away from me and he starts doing Amazon returns and I reiterated the fact that I had the email and I'm not coming back to the store and I doubt if it's coming to my house, now I have to wait for him to come back to me and I'm right by the exit doors where it's freezing cold, but this other man that works there I guess heard my conversation and he went into a different locker and brought me my item. I also had two purchases to make so now I have to wait for the first guy to finish the Amazon returns so he can ring me up and I see a cart in front of the store and I put all my items in there, a big box, a heavy stapler, a big box of Dunkin' Donuts coffee and other items. The man tells me I cannot take the cart out of the store and I said are you kidding me? I said I can't carry this all out. He didn't offer to help me carry it out, and I said to him what happens if I had a cart load full of things and he said you could probably pull your car up, but meanwhile, I'd have to leave my cart inside so anybody else could walk out with my stuff while I walk to my car. I just gathered it all up and struggled to get to my car. I'm done with that place. Hardly anybody working there, the cashier was wrong about my order not being there and refused to check into it and left me standing there to help other people when he should've been helping me , freezing cold store and you can't even use the cart to go to your car. The cart has to stay inside the store. So STAPLES, I hope you see this review. You need to get brand new carts and allow us to use them to take all our merchandise to our car because as of now you just lost my business. And what's with the no heat? Also too, your website is a major pain in the neck. You don't know if the items are coming to your house if the item is being delivered to the store if the item is already in the store very confusing. I'm done with that app too. STAPLES won't even get online shopping from me anymore either. It's too bad too because I used to like that store but it's gone downhill and they wonder why people want to shop online and don't go to Physical stores anymore especially when you can't even use a damn cart to take your purchases to your car. I am only giving four stars because I did not need to utilize the whole store nor did I ask questions to many staff so I can't give a full store assessment. However, I do give five stars for the printing department. I had a binder printed for my homeschooling group and accidentally clicked a different color cover than clear. The gentleman was so kind he quickly fixed my mistake and was extremely kind about it. Also, the other staff in the printing section were extremely personable. I will definitely be coming back again. We will be needing supplies for the upcoming year. read more

I'm posting this because I hope the store sees reviews and this is meant to be constructive. I went to this Staples a few weeks ago to get a passport photo done for a Canadian passport. A staff member did this pretty quickly and was pleasant. I told him at least twice that this was for a Canadian passport and he assured me he knew the standard for Canadian passports. I ended up having to go back to the store (40-minute drive each way) because the staff member had forgotten to stamp the photo, which - to be fair - was at least partly my fault. But what really irks me is that the Canadian passport service rejected my photos because my mouth was slightly open. (I waited 2 hours in a phone queue to find out why my photos were rejected.) So I ended up having to pay someone else in NYC to redo the photos, and pay for international shipping again. All told, this has cost me an extra 120 dollars, not to mention the stress, hassle and waste of time. Now I'm not even sure I will have my passport in time for travel. Staples : PLEASE be sure staff members have the right training for this, passport photos need to be taken with great care. read more

Today I went shopping for back-to-school supplies, my original destination was Walmart, but my daughter is entering the 7th grade and this year her school supply list was more than just the basics. I then decided to go to Staples where I realized that they have what I'm looking for. My experience was so pleasant, I was asked if I needed help and the young man directed me where to find the item I was looking for. Checkout was even more pleasant; my cashier was Mahki a very well-spoken gentleman who helped me sign up for the App to receive future coupons. I recommend any parent looking for peace while back to school shopping, Staples is where it's at. Have fun and load their App beforehand so you can save. read more

I like working with Nick and other male associates in the printing Dept - Unfortunately the woman in the Dept give very poor service ! Obviously not happy to be there and it shows . Very poor attitude , downright argumentative immature like dealing with babies I've never seen anything like it. unfortunately it's the only one around here so we have to put up with this type of service. I've read so many reviews were this is a terrible place to work and not enough pay , lots of ridiculous work meetings , long hours ... you pay for what you get ! I am definitely a Staples fan.... These days I am just not as happy with their store upkeep. It is not with the team members, they are always helpful and I definitely felt their frustration when they are constantly out of items that they have on sale. It's a beautiful clean and bright store, but no people. The store I was in today (Jericho) did not even have the heat on... It's holiday season, do you want people browsing and shopping in the stores? At this rate people will continue to use the internet for al their office shopping (Which can even be done in Best Buy and Costco.) Staples is disappointing me and I am sad... read more

Selection of merchandise was decent, but the supremely unhelpful cashier tried to rip me off, leaving me feeling like I was shopping at a third-world bazaar where you always have to watch your wallet and your back. Worst customer service ever by the 2 people(both female..so the right ones identified)behind the printing desk couldn't be bothered helping me print something from my phone. They were sitting there doing nothing and there wasn't anyone else there but me. I asked for help and in my words they basically told me I had to figure it out for myself because of the pandemic they couldn't come out from behind the counter or look at my phone... unlike 2 weeks ago when a nice man helped me. The WORST by far. Went to the Riverhead store and bought one ink cartridge for $17.99. I am a rewards customer. I gave the associate behind the counter 5 empty cartridges for recycling thinking they would sit in my account until I was ready to redeem them with a rewards coupon. Turns out I have to spend $30. in ink purchases "before" I submit the cartridges for recycling or I lose them. Do you think this deadhead associate would tell me I need to spend another $12? No , he says nothing and I've just lost those 5 cartridges. I've had it with the ins and outs of Staples so called rewards. They make it so the customer has to work at getting benefits. No more. I'm never setting foot in a Staples store again. I'll get what I need on line at Amazon. read more
