Very small, which means extremely limited selection. Go to Petaluma store for better options. Also, the customer service here is lacking, especially the dark-haired woman working the register at 1:15pm on Tues 3/5 (cashier #2022504, in case the manager is reading these reviews). She's apathetic and barely answers questions, just responded with "yeah..." when I pointed out an issue with their payment machine rushing through the receipt options. I wasn't able to select my preferred option, which is email receipt, so she handed me a paper one. "Yeah..."?? She also did not tell me until it was too late that discounts are not automatically applied when you enter your rewards phone number. You have to open their app. The last time I was here about a month ago, the cashier told me that they were updating the system, and in "a couple weeks" it would automatically apply rewards when you enter your phone number. I went here on last Sunday 2/25/24 and it was like dealing with a bunch of high schoolers! Upon entering the store they were all huddled laughing and goofing around and couldn't be bothered! I asked them where I could find film for my daughter's new Polaroid camera and they finally pointed to a region of the store so I asked them if they wouldn't mind walking me over to find the right one as this was my first time buying this.But they all said that they didn't know either!!!! I felt bad for the only guy there who was trying to help everyone. there is no one to help you figure out the self help copy center. 2 times now I've gone in to try to print things and they don't turn out right and I end up wasting a lot of money. I'm definetly going elsewhere to print things. If you don't need any advice or help, then it's fine for running in to quickly buy a ream of paper. I was really disappointed to hear how the person in the print department today, April 13, 2024, responded to a woman waiting for help to use a printer. She was waiting patiently when I got there. When he had finished with another customer, he told her he had a few other things to do and walked away. Not in a nice way, smile, sorry, I'll be right back, kind of way. She finally left. And then I heard him talk on for quite a while with another employee about how he didn't care if he got written up...... I guess those other things he had to do weren't so important. read more

Love these people & this place! All the staff have been incredibly kind & helpful, every time I've been here! i tend to ask many questions (to figure stuff out); each team-person has been patient, supportive, & even helped me brainstorm. i've used copy machines, printer, shredding services; i've bought machines, office supplies etc. If they didn't have an item I was seeking, they suggested how I might find elsewhere. I've come on my bike & asked them to "save" purchased large items for me (twice), til friend could pick it up in car. They are always amenable. {Notice a couple reviews from last year mention "less-enjoyable" experience w/ team .... I can't speak for those sitch's. But... given the last 2 years found tons of businesses stressed & under-staffed (w/ bare-min-numbers of workers feeling understandably harried, over-worked, strained & exhausted), I imagine this may have been in play ?? Do not get passport photos here, operator doesn't understand how to produce a photo that matches government standard guidelines and had no knowledge to adjust camera settings adequality. Image was so dark you couldn't see the color of the eyes, face completely in shadow, upper half of the head was cropped off. When I pointed out image was too dark and cropped, the answer was "I am following procedure" and "that's how they come out". He tried a second time and it was even more dark, he cropped it manually so head would fit but image was unusable because too dark and blurry. So I had to go to Ups store and they did a great job with a clear, bright, full head photo. I wasted my money at Staples. read more

The print manager that worked Saturday and Sunday 9/9/23 and 9/10/23 was rude, and unable to complete jobs in a timely fashion. I went in person, I said ok... so than Ill come back tomorrow, he said im not guaranteeing anything do what you want... WTH?? I have used the staples print request many times and never had to wait days for someone to simply take 3 minutes to open an email and press print, the ladies and staff are always friendly and quick. Nothing fancy just plain color pictures on plain white paper. Its now the next day and I call at nearly 3pm to see if it's ready having sent it prior to 2pm the day prior , a lady answer's said she'd transfer me, gets back on the phone to say he's too busy to answer you. I asked can you just ask if he's had a chance to open my order yet she said listen you have 2 options.. I hung up... this is ridiculous service! What are you the mob to give me 2 options? In a tone as if you are threatening me.. this guy needs to find himself a job that brings him joy and the lady who answered the phone on Sunday needs to get written up and taught a course on phone ethics and customer service. read more

The music was so loud and the selection was so unpleasant that we asked an associate to turn down the noise. She assured us that Corporate controlled the volume. We couldn't take the clamor, so we left the store. As soon as possible I had an online chat, explained the circumstances, and was assured I would hear from the Home Office. It wasn't until I posted my complaint on the Staples Facebook page, that I received this email from the Customer Relations Specialist, Office of the President. "Thank you for contacting Staples regarding the music in our store # 0952 - Walled Lake,MI. We are disappointed to hear that it was loud and that the songs were not pleasant. We're sorry that we did not live up to our promise of making shopping and saving easier than ever. Rest assured we'll further evaluate how we can prevent this experience from happening again. We hope this experience will not deter you from shopping with us altogether. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns." This did not address the issue, acknowledge the unpleasant situation, or did it offer any solutions. We consequently headed for Office Depot and had a 5 star experience. You know, truthfully, these guys are great. Customer service and their effort to fully satisfy the customer is to be admired. One gentleman, Nate, is a true service star. He only works Mon - Fri, so you won't find him there on the weekends. They also have a more than fair return policy. If the product that you purchased turns out to not be the right one for the job, they will accept it back and recommend something closer to what you need. Again, customer service. Try them, give them your business and enjoy the experience. True service, reliability and pro-customer attitude is all there waiting for you. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible. The employees have attitude and speak to customers very condescendingly (Really? You work at Staples~ get over yourself). They don't know anything about files, or how to pull up files. They will tell you to do it yourself on one of the store display computers (which aren't online). They will assist you about as well as Gary Coleman's wife, so if you need any kind of help, you're screwed. I have been there twice now and that was once too much. I should have never given them a second chance. Management or the owners or whomever are in charge need to take a look at what is going on in that copy center and clean it up. I will stick to the Mom and Pop stores in the area and stop giving my money to these corporate aholes. read more

This is a good place to get office supplies when in Sonoma. The staff is friendly and helpful. Keep in mind that it also gets busy. The store also has a copy center and that is a good thing, I think, especially when so much of today's office work evolves around the transmitting, printing or editing of documents. I had to print out some documents that were on a flash drive. All worked out fine. Just have to be patient with all the machines and all the new upgrades to menu options and conveniences. The use of credit/debit cards to pay for copies works well. Much more efficient than the old way of having a separate key-like device to tally up the number of copies and then bring it to the cash register to pay the total. All is done right there at the copier and you can get a receipt on the spot. No more going to the register and wait in line, etc. Pretty cool! Keep in mind too, when staff is busy, it is best to know what you are looking for. So pay attention to the sales, the staples ad flyers, etc. And, speaking of savings and bargains, sign up for the Staples frequent buyer card. It provides rewards and savings, especially on stuff like ink cartridges. Staples has an ink cartridge return system, ask the staff about it. Oh and sometimes, there are good deals on stuff like snacks and miscellaneous items. read more

This is the only office supply store in Sonoma, so local residents really don't have much choice, other than to drive to Santa Rosa. I've shopped here several times and it's pretty typical of Staples. I recently went in to purchase an inkjet cartridge. I checked prices online: Staples, Target, Office Depot/Max, Walmart were all the same price - both online and in-store. I was surprised to discover that the in-store price was higher by over $2.00. There were huge banners throughout the store advertising Staples' price match guarantee. So I asked if I could price match to Staples own online price. Both employees rolled their eyes and acted completely put out by the request. I pulled up the Target website on my phone and the salesperson huffed her way through ringing me up. The in-store price advertised on the website was deceptive - bordering on "bait-and-switch". But it's pretty insulting to provide such poor customer service when I was only asking them to honor a policy that Staples touts with store-wide banners. And brick-and-mortar retailers wonder why Amazon continues to chip away at their market share. read more

for a tourist in sonoma, i like staples. good service, decent amount of merchandise. the copy & print center service is not versatile but i guess thats not their fault. to the local guys that own print shops - you should look for the weakness of the competition and concentrate on those instead of complaining about them. i would go to a local print shop over staples anyday to do any of my requirements because staples print and copy center is overpriced and limited to what they can do. read more

Not much of a fan! I came here and my campaign that I was working on couldn't be done because of a few reasons. They didn't have paper clips, something very basic. Also, I was looking for some toner for a laser jet printer (I bought here), that I had to go find online since they didn't have it. This place has some annoying people working here. I spoke with 3 people, and only 1 one them wasn't a complete idiot. I spoke with a slightly older woman who was actually very nice and helped direct me to what I was looking for. She is the reason this review is a 2 star instead of 1. Next was a young skinny guy who should be a let go of immediately. This kid needs to simmer down, you work at a Staples you can get rid of the ego. When I asked about ink for my printer he tried to make me feel stupid for not knowing exactly what kind I needed. That's why I ASKED!! He spoke down to me and other customers, and had HANDS DOWN the worst customer I have ever experienced. Getting away from this idiot was a young lady working at the front register. She kept trying to make me do the mail in rebate. When a customer says no thank you, don't continue to try and force them to do this. I had to say no like 4 times! Here goes...I live in Napa, CA. Online looking for HP 63 Standard Black Ink cartridge. See Staples-Sonoma has 3 available for $20.89 each under their purported :"pick up in 1 hour" option. Call Sonoma to ask about the unknown "pick up" rules. Clerk has not heard of the website pick up offer. Clerk states he will see if a cartridge is available. Clerk states that he will hold one cartridge at check-out counter. I inform clerk that I will immediately drive to Sonoma to make the purchase. I arrive at Sonoma store in about 1/2 hour. Tell check-out clerk my story. Clerk retrieves 1 HP 63 XL cartridge (not the Standard cartridge, noton sale, costs a lot more than $20.89). Clerk searches stock and states that they do not have the advertised Standard cartridge. I speak with manager Javier and he states there's nothing he can do until a shipment arrives (he couldn't really say when that would be). I had him sign a copy of the ad I had printed off and told him that I expected a "rain check" when the cartridge is available (HA!...fat chance!). It is blatantly obvious that no one at this store knew about the online offer. In addition, they had never really found a Standard cartridge when I first called, yet told me they had one on hand. This stores 3-star rating sums up the problems others have had. Bad Staples!, Bad Customer Service! Be aware and shop accordingly! read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went in there asking if I could print a 28 page document. It was on a flash drive in the right format. The fist lady didn't know how to do it and I had to wait for a few minutes for the other lady to do it. She then starts reading my document!, They wouldn't let me print it because they said it was against policy. Against policy? I was trying to print Cards Against Humanity.... I've owned iPhones and iPods for 10 years without shattering any screens. Yesterday, it finally happened. My phone case has done a great job, but this one drop was too much and my iPhone 6 screen shattered into a million tiny pieces. So did my heart. I texted my boyfriend in a panic and he mentioned he noticed the sign out front of Staples. At 5pm I called and got info that in fact they could help me out. Maybe even by the time they closed at 6pm if I came right away. The cost was a little over 100 bucks, and while I could have purchase a DIY kit online, I decided to let the pros handle it and that the convenience was worth the cost. I didn't catch the name of the gentleman who helped me, but he was very helpful and kind. I came back just before closing and he had already worked his magic. Do NOT go to staples to have your iPhone screen replaced!!! I took my phone to Sonoma staples and even though I had cracked the screen the phone worked fine. After having the screen replaced (3 times because they couldnt get it right) I noticed an inside crack and randomly the screen went black and the phone has to be shut down and turned back on. Even though those things weren't occurring before they replaced the screen they told me it was occurring and wouldn't stand by their work They did not fix my phone and n fact caused it to malfunction. And they did not refund my money. I had to pay the Apple Store to fix it for $125. Never take your broken phone to staples!!! read more

Limited service. They claim to be a USPS but it's really iship, a shipping application. So.....as it doesn't know all the zip codes in the US ...it won't allow you to print t a stamp to ship. It then forces you to use their UPS service. So instead of a 12.95 box and stamp, they want a $70 overnight fee. I found that out after waiting over 20minutes. Writing this review about the shipping only, not the other services, so others don't get trapped. read more

I was not a fan of Staples moving into Sonoma and I was very sad to see our local office supply store close it's doors. That being said, I've only had good experiences with this store. I've used their print center, used their USPS services and bought supplies here. The staff has been super helpful and accommodating. Their selection isn't stellar but they are always willing to order anything that they don't carry. In addition, I was super impressed by a particular experience I had where an employee (possibly a manager) went above and beyond. I was looking for an HDMI cable, which they were out of stock of, and the employee proceeded to call a local computer store for me, check to see if they had the item in stock and had them hold it for me. I'm a big supporter of buying local but this branch won me over! read more

Not a good place to get a screen replacement. My daughter had it done and had to return and have the old one replaced because the new screen had a bad color problem. Our red tray looked brownish. I'm a regular shopper at Staples in Sonoma and regard the store as being clean and the employees as most helpful and friendly. Yesterday, I had some promotional flyers printed in color in their "copy center." After I got home and took a good look at the results, I discovered some odd color aberrations, not the fault of what was presented or Tristen, the pleasant employee who did the printing. So I recreated the original in Photoshop and took the USB stick back to Staples. Seeing what happened, Tristen reprinted the job without charging me extra. first off this is written to the corporation: not the employees of the store(who are all ready over worked)! why??? in the world do you offer two different prices on your website, and the price in the store????????????????????????? you are creating a disaster... waiting to happen! and it happened to me!!! why do you offer a flash drive of a 128 gb size online at a cheaper price, then you sell in the stores? {and not carry them in the stores? especially when it is your name brand flash drive???????} you go there expecting to pick up the flash drive and find out staples website changes the product on you, while you are sure you hit the 128 gb button on the webpage, sure i should have read the shopping cart to insure proper items were there. on the other hand the website, should: "pop up a window that states in bold red letters": these are not available to pick up in an hour- will take 2 days at least to deliver plain and simple!. i believe that is the way to do that! you should make those changes in your website immediately!!! to serve your customers in a better manner.... if not to over work, (your all ready over worked employees) not stocking the stores with them??? once again, they are your name brand flash drive!!!!!!!!! read more

I purchased a printer from Staples and had it installed by my computer technician. Right out of the box it was defective and would not work. We immediately returned it for another printer and my technician had to make a second visit to my home to install the second printer. This resulted in my having to pay for TWO service calls. I phoned the store and was informed that since I did not have Staples install it, there was nothing I could do. I then phoned the 800# at Staples and after a long conversation with the rep, I was referred to the Office of the President. They basically said the same thing. I would have been happy with even a small store credit-something to make up for the fact that it was because of THEIR defective printer that I incurred two service charges. To me, this is a total lack of customer service, not to mention a big waste of my time. I came away from the experience with a clear message from Staples: Since we didn't install the printer that you purchased from us, it's really NOT our problem. Oh, really? read more
