SPECIAL COMMENDATION: DAVIS (Staples Sales Manager) My desktop computer was destroyed in the 2020 fires, and I needed any computer ASAP! I purchased my laptop from Staples in 2020 at the onset of the CV19 shutdown. The laptop was excellent except the camera didn't work. Because Staples is close to me, it is my go-to place for all my office supply needs. I went to Staples, and due to CV19, Staples sold all but two laptop computers. I was able to purchase one of the two laptop computers. IMHO, I prefer to purchase my electronic equipment from a 'brick and mortar store' than buying online. The following paragraph will explain why? My laptop worked great with more processing power than my desktop computer. I had procrastinated on purchasing a camera to replace the built-in laptop camera. In this digital age, cameras with computers are an absolute necessity. I went to Staples to buy a 'plug and play' camera to replace the built-in laptop camera that never worked. I came home and attached the Logitech C505 camera, and the camera did not work. I pride myself on being able to work on any Windows O/S from pre-Win95 to development stage Win11. My work machine is on Win10. Misplaced pride comes at a price, and my C505 camera did not work when I plugged it in. I went through all the documentation I could find on the internet and YouTube, and still, the camera did not work. I went to return the C505 camera to Staples as I seriously thought my laptop was defective to work with any camera. My instinct was my laptop was defective and could not work with any camera. Win10 "device manager" recognized the external camera, but neither the external and internal camera worked. Davis(Staples Sales Manager) had suggested the C505 camera earlier this week. Now he was going through my laptop to diagnose why my camera did not work. Davis also went into the 'device manager,' and the C505 was recognized by Win10 both times, nothing new to me. What could he do that I did not do? Davis disabled the internal camera that did not work, and the C505 camera instantly came to life! I have done business with Staples for many years, and most employees are helpful and friendly. Davis went above and beyond what I expected to fix the issue. It worked! Most other employees would exchange the camera or claim my computer did not work. That extra initiative of customer service lacking in the service industry is unique. There should be more "Davis" with a can-do attitude!" In today's world, customer service is a rare "commodity." Staples on Bundy has customer service and a reason why I will never buy electronic equipment online. Davis went the 'extra mile,' and I am a "very satisfied customer!" Of course, I will continue to purchase all my office needs at Staples on Bundy. read more

This location is clean and fairly organized, I regularly find myself noticing how no associate here has any sense of urgency in their work. The cashiers seem to move like molasses in January and often times associates in the print center move even slower. Waiting in a long line to pay can be quite excruciating when there are other associates wandering around and watching the two cashiers struggling to ring you up and bagging your purchase. Recent visits I have seen the store manager walk by the front just to see the one cashier struggling and offering no help in alleviating the backup in getting folks checked out. I would hate to work here when the person in charge is too good to do any menial work. Customer service is stagnant at this store. I think their customers would go elsewhere if there was more competition. read more

I went to this location this past Tuesday morning and I was assisted by Rakeem! First of all he greeted me with a warm and friendly smile. I needed to return an item that had some complications and he made sure that my issue was taken care of all while continuing to smile and have easy conversation with me. He was also using a really awesome boxing unicorn pen that the store sold and because it brought me so much joy when I was using it I bought one for myself! We appreciate the wide variety of products and the staff is fairly accommodating for purchasing products when needed, doing price matching, and providing a wide array of services from boxes to shipping to Photo copying Printing and all the basics needed. One reason to come to Staples - Print & Copy center. I had a bag of bills to shred and came two weeks ago. "Sorry, the bin is full, it's emptied on Wednesday." Brought in a 500 page color job, one that will repeat multiple times over the next few weeks worth 1000s of dollars. I waited about 10 minutes behind an older woman while 3 people helped her, but while I was organizing it they started kicking me off for a 2 page resume print. But they didn't ASK me, but reached hands around me and knocked my hands away while I was selecting files, throwing my folder out of order. Not only that? They touched me, stood too close to me, and breathed down my neck bending over backwards for a young woman who didn't prep very well for her job interview. I hope that dollar they made was worth it, because I walked out with $400 plus dollars for being treated so rudely and physically handled. So got it, I have to wait my turn -- hot young girl gets me physically pushed off a computer as if reaching over me and touching me is normal and professional, cause SHE can't be made to wait. Don't bring anything that costs more than $5 here, they hate business and don't deserve it. read more

In my experience, Staples is one of those big warehouse type stores that are impossible to get a team member to help you out. This location, however; seems to be fully staffed and the staff are always so happy to help you out. With kids doing virtual learning, I expected not to be able to get all the things I needed (folders, labels, etc) but they had everything I needed and more. Happy to report that I had a quick visit to staples (usually I feel like these trips take much longer than needed) and I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Plenty of parking as well. read more

All Staples are the same. Uh no! The one on National was smaller and personable, this store is bigger and maybe too big for its own good. The National store called here to check inventory on a Digital Recorder and asked to bring item out to cashier because customer will come in 10 minutes. When I walked in and asked customer service, "Did the National store just call about a Digital Recorder to be brought to the front cashier for pick up?" All 3 guys looked at me and thought I was speaking Swahili. No answer with a stare... One guy said, "You can check where the recorders are at in the back of the store." Not very helpful, since they were talking about some personal weekend plans, I would have expected some better level of service. I eventually got one of the team leaders to help me out. I asked Jose at the desk if he could print it from behind the counter instead of trying to use the machines. Jose was extremely helpful, kind, and very thorough. I go to this Staples periodically and always find it easy to park in their large parking lot and they have a good selection of products with great prices. Their customer service is great too. Went in tonight during a rush of back-to-school parents and kids. "Kenny" was working the floor and helped me out after helping one customer that was in front of me. He was courteous, knowledgeable and helped me find what I was looking for. I checked out with "Davis" (asst manager?) who was also courteous and professional. I don't know who's running this circus, but it is the worst customer service anywhere. You wait forever on hold to try to make an appointment for the TSA pre-check or if you walk in you're told by this guy name Moishy if you don't have an appointment you're probably not going to get in today. Having no clue or appreciation for how hard you've been trying to get an appointment over the last several weeks. He was so incredibly rude. And he just talks and talks and talks to people, while he is processing one, applicant. Anyone could process five applicants in the time it takes him to process one. They should just hire another person and get rid of this guy. It's a far stretch to call this a true service. Whereas the National branch, I called directly and was able to get an appointment quickly because they fit me in at the end of their day because they took the time to listen to my predicament, which no one did at the Bundy branch. I called ahead about doing the TSA pre check and was instructed to come in to the store after 4pm. I showed up around 6pm and went to the desk where they do the TSA pre check and the employee seemed very annoyed that I was there. I asked him if he could assist me with the TSA pre check and without saying a word, he pointed to the hours sign which showed the desk closed at 6pm and looked at me like I'm stupid. It doesn't take much effort to say "sorry, we just closed for the day". I believe the employee's name was Mosley or Moses, something weird like that. Went in for a shredder today, manager was not the friendliest when it came to price matching on their own website. Not sure what was going on but Mr. R certainly needs to work on his customer service / customer interaction. 1. When a customer is asking if a product is in stock, try acknowledging the customer and not just delegating the task by turning to your associates and saying "check if this is in stock for this guy" 2. If a customer is asking about price matching on your own website and and potentially using a coupon, try explaining your process and/or procedures, not just say "you can order it on your phone or that computer" Why the five stars? Just came to the store on National Boulevard in Sawtelle came in there to have a return shipping label printed up for USPS. The gentleman that was helping me was very rude condescending and belligerent. I did exactly what I was asking me to do and he's gonna stand there and tell me that I'm not following his direction.. I don't think this gentleman knows exactly what to do when it comes to electronics of any kind whatsoever. He has absolutely no respect for women overall in general, or anyone else for that matter. Then I spoke with the store manager, and his response to my response was a gentleman's behavior as well. I see where he's coming from. You don't know how to follow directions.. so I contacted the Staples corporate office and reported them both. I hear that every so often they hace Penny sales at Staples where they charge you only $0.01 for a specific item. This week it was a pack of pencils for only a penny -- a limit of 2 per customer per visit. Seeing as the significant other is a teacher, I hear stories about how notorious teachers are for waiting for these sales. It was suggested to me that I should stop by and pick up a couple of these really cheap pencils if I knew what was good for me. Never wanting to disrupt the peace, I made sure to stop by Staples during the middle of the day on a weekday. Not only was parking a breeze, but they had 3 people holding down the cash registers. Sure, the guy that was doing some restocking clearly ignored me as he kept passing in front of me in one of the aisles, but I could care less. I can see how people might need help finding items in a store with an extensive product offering, but this is Staples. If you can't find what you need by reading the signs above each aisle, walk each aisle. It'll take you 2 minutes, and you save everyone time and effort. After all this time, it still holds true: there is no such thing as stupid questions, just stupid people that ask questions. read more

THAT WAS NOT EASY What a horrible experience. I placed an order on the staples website for an office chair, with the option to pick up in store today. The website showed 5 in stock and a price of $99 with a 30 dollar coupon. I arrive at the store and they well me I have to wait until the warehouse ships it. I will have to come back next Monday. But they have 5 in stock. The store manager said I can cancel the online order and buy it from the store, but I have to pay $30 more. He said I ordered it wrong. I went back to the website and showed him that it said "5 in stock" with a button that says "pick up in store today" So we have the manager doing the following. .. 1) Blaming the customer 2) Asking me to wait until next week 3) offering to let me pick it up today but paying $30 more. When I told him to cancel the order and that if I was going to pay $30 more, I would rather give that money to Office Depot. All of a sudden, the order "suddenly came through" and I got the chair. Turns out this was the "assistant manager" and the manager is on vacation. When he returns, he should speak to his assistant about the cost of losing customers and the bad reviews they will leave when you treat them like this. I think future purchases will have to be made at another store, unless I get an apology from the real store manager. I hope it was worth the 30 dollars you tried to squeeze me for. read more

10/21/15 1pm 1st example of 'How is this customer service?!' I went in to print copies for a meeting and was in a hurry. Two girls were working in the copy center- 1 standing at the register staring off and not talking to anyone, the 2nd just walking away from a customer. I asked the one standing there behind the counter how I could print files in an email (and I've been here before and had emailed it to them) and she said I had to log onto the computer to print and rushed to turn to another customer that had just walked up. I had to ask her if I could email it and she just hands me a business card and goes back to helping the new customer- with a completely miserable look on her face to me and giant smile for the second customer...?! 2nd example of 'How is this customer service?!' I email the files and ask the other girl if it's there, she opens the file and walks away saying the other girl will help me...?!?! The other girl is still helping the customer who walked up after me. The file opens and is just sitting there open for a while so I have to ask the 2nd 'customer service' girl if she can just tap 'print' since I needed to get going. 3rd example of 'How is this customer service?!' She prints the files, walks them to the counter where the 1st girl is still helping the customer she dismissed me to help, and informs me that the 1st girl will finish helping me...AGAIN! Apparently she didn't pass the memo onto the 1st girl because she ignores me and then walks away to help ANOTHER guy around the corner! 4th example of 'How is this customer service?!' So the 2nd employee begrudgingly rings me up. OH I forgot- when she printed my files she asked if I just needed regular paper when she printed it, and my receipt says 'CLR PREM' at .69 a page, so I can only assume that means PREMIUM since the weight of the paper she printed on was practically card stock weight and not 'regular' in any copy world- obviously ripping me off and taking advantage of the fact that I'm in a hurry. Mind you, I'm smiling most of this time and politely asking if I can be helped each time and apologizing because I am in a hurry. So, Staples, please explain- how is this good customer service??? read more

I went here to buy a roll of grip mat. I wanted to line my desk drawers with the non slip material. I asked one employee and he started walking to one of the aisles. Thinking he knew what I was talking about, I followed him. After going through a few aisles, I asked him if he knew what I was describing. He tells me he doesn't know. Well why didn't you tell me that in the first place instead of walking me around the damn store. I asked another employee and she is too busy on the cell phone texting. This review is for the print and copy department... I needed a few prints done and had a full-sized PDF on a thumb drive. I wanted the image shrunk down so that two fit on a piece of letter paper and expected to have some struggles in explaining what I needed. Instead, the girl in the copy department setup my file in less than 30-seconds and was a total pro. The project turned out perfectly and I left very happy. read more

Go here for the copy center! Some of the best customer service of any business. I really love to see business done with excellence, whatever the business may be. For the past 2 years, I had been tolerating mediocre service at the Staples on National and Sawtelle. Then, one day, mediocre turned to awful and I drove the extra blocks to Bundy (near Olympic). I felt like royalty. They provide colored paper, walk out with you to the machines, help make sure you have the best prints possible, and refund you for ones that were tests or errors. After so many printing traumas, I really love these people. 11 cents a copy is a lot, so, if you are like me and don't do large enough orders for bulk printing companies and so have to pay it, its nice that it comes with great service. Their email print service is also excellent. I often email them orders and they really do a great job with them. They are almost always able to resolve any technical concern and, if they can't I hear back from them right a way. If you have suffered at Kinkos and other less awesome Staples as I have, you understand what it means for me to say this copy center truly rocks. read more

Enrique signed me up for my staples Rewards Credit Card for my Foundation. He was amazing. The goal of The Bayer Foundation is to get people out of pain. Normally, I have been treated extremely well by employees of the Staples at the 16th St and Santa Monica Blvd location. The management at the Wilshire Blvd store is a pain and awful. I will now bring my business to this store instead. The selection is also better here. For someone who prefers to go into stores in business it makes me feel much better. The most helpful customer service I've experienced here is a suggestion by one of their team members to go to Best Buy. Minimal staffing at this location makes for an underwhelming customer service experience. This store is OK for very basic purchases (printer paper, printer ink) if you know exactly where the item is stocked. Outside of basic items, their range is quite limited. Help on the floor is hard to find, even in off-peak times. My primary feeling after several attempted shopping attempts here was not "That Was Easy!", it was "That Was a Waste Of My Time". read more
