In my opinion, Staples still serves purpose even in today's day and age of increasing e-commerce. However, I've always found that they're a little bit of a hot mess whenever I visit one. I needed to run an errand that required me to visit this location on Tuckahoe Rd, so I took a deep breath and off I went. In terms of organization, this Staples is one of the better ones I've been to - it's well stocked and the aisles are clean. For one of my first visits I went for some office supplies and I was in and out. For my second visit, I utilized them as a location to complete my TSA Pre-Check application; even though there was a little bit of a wait, they were very friendly and the whole process was very efficient. With ample parking and a convenient location right off the Sprain, this is definitely a location I would return to despite not being in my backyard. read more

Went to drop off my Amazon packages for return and the older lady there scanned both my QR codes. She then proceeds to put the label on one of the packages and then she asks for the other QR code. I tell her she already scanned it. She starts to say she needs a new QR code but on my Amazon account it says they're both already processed for return. I'm giving this Staples, the Copy Print in particular, 5 stars. They have printed many complex jobs for me, huge posters, signs, handouts, all sorts of items. They were all done beautifully, and very quickly. The manager there is great, they even did jobs faster than was anticipated. I will always bring my work to this Staples. I came in to purchase an office chair and was helped by a friendly young man by the name of Joshua. He brought the chair from the back and offered to carry it to the front of the store by the checkout. He had other duties to attend to and he left afterwards. What is WRONG with this place, besides almost EVERYTHING! Danielle - 5 Stars, everything and everyone else 1 Star. Danielle was honest, knowledgeable, and friendly. Don't even try calling here, the run around is unbelievable - I was put on hold three different times and sent around the store for the three rounds of hold, I was even told that Danielle did not work in that store and when I arrived at 8PM to pick up my very expensive and not very perfect enlarged poster size photo, not only was Danielle sitting right there in the photo/copy department but a woman dared to defend the store and lied for the store and said that I was rerouted to a different store when I called earlier even though I was passed to the person who helped me originally. In summary, massive confusion, huge lack of work ethic, an abundance of attitudes with an absence of customer service. Danielle does not fit with this scenario. read more

Staples is Staples - pricey, but have most of what you need. I need to come to Staples at times to get this or that - be it school supplies for my child or the occasional office/computer/packing need. Things are pricey, but it's also in a way convenient. I've come to accept Staples' prices and only shop there when absolutely necessary. Most items can be found elsewhere or online for a cheaper price. Unlike the sister store closest to this location (Central Avenue), the employees here are fairly decent and there's never been an issue that I can recall any of the times I've ever been here. All Staples have the same floor format and stock, so if you've been to one you've been to them all. I've never used the copying/scanning/printing options here or any Staples, so I can't comment on the efficiency or pricing. Located in a decent sized parking lot shared with a few others businesses. Easy to use self-service printing. This place worked in a pinch when I needed to print out a ticket last minute. Although I began waiting in line, it turns out that it's completely full service. No need to wait for an employee to help you. All you need to do is email whatever you need to print to the designated email address, then you'll receive an email response with the document ID number to look up at the printer. I was able to email the pdf from my phone and had my printed ticket in minutes. read more

I want to advise prospective customers of the worthless coupons that Staples issues. I got a coupon for $10 orff an in-store purchase of $20 or more. But, if you read the exclusions you can't use it for anything in aisle 1 thru 24. In other words, the coupon is useless except for maybe in the bathroom. I was in this particular Staples today. Rita, the Assistant Manager, was phenomenal! She spent almost an hour with me, while helping customers and employees. Her patience level was top notch, so was her understanding. I am trying to purchase a co op. In NY, this is A LOT of paperwork. Well over 100 pages of info. Need 8 collated folders to distribute to a board. Rita showed me what folders and tabs to purchase. She stayed with me and collated all my info. It will still take me hours, but way less than before! On Saturday 11 March 2017 I the store on 465 Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers, New York. I bought 5 items. A wireless mouse, Three wooden magazine keepers and a wooden desktop accessory. When I got to the counter there were 2 cashiers and two managers just hanging out. It seems the cashier waiting on me had just gotten a new phone that the other cashier was checking out and commenting on. Meanwhile the African-American gentleman made a comment to the 2nd cashier about her lips. She kept interrupting my cashier from checking me out. My cashier had the audacity to ask me if I wanted the wooden stuff in a bag. How else was I going to carry it out? I asked for the bag. The second cashier helped bag all the while talking about her lips. They gave me my bags and I went home with my items to find that the wooden desk accessory was not in either of the two bags. I drove back and the Hispanic manager was no longer in front but the African-American manager was still chatting with the cashiers while they were working. I walked up to my cashier and asked for the missing item. SHE KNEW EXACTLY where it was. The manager gave it to me and I said maybe instead of playing with phones and talking about her lips......they should be more focused on their job. He said sorry while the 2nd cashier laughed at me. Was returning an ink cartridge, sealed and unexpired, which is, under staples return policy, able to be returned at any time (so long as it is sealed and unexpired). Was told by a sales associate that this had a 14-day return period, and when I insisted that that was wrong, the associate took it as an attack on her character and proceeded to tell me that she has worked here for 2 years. I ended up getting store credit, which was fine I guess. When a customer tells you that the information you're giving is wrong, it is poor customer service practice to spit back in the customer's face like that. This location is very convenient and there is always ample parking. The staff is helpful and kind. The way the store is set up makes a nice flow of and alleviates customer traffic. They have a lot of school supplies but the other location on Central Avenue had many more options. But like I said, this is a nice location and I'm usually in and out of here in a few minutes. read more

Went there today to get a couple of my documents scanned to my usb....after standing in line for 15 minutes I am told I will need to drop my documents off and pick them later..( you could have told me that when you asked me what I wanted on my arrival!) .I asked him is there a self serve scanner ...promptly iam pointed to the ' corner ' scanner... 10 minutes of figuring out and surprise surprise the corner scanner does not scan; it just copies... i visitied staples in yonkers on tuckahoe rd not to buy what 99 percent of folks usually buy , no it was 3 (24)pack of bottled water, scott toilet paper and bounty paper towels and yes i was about to find lysol wipes and spray and 2 large bottles of hand sanitizer . while most supermarkets and drug stores are out of these important goods i was lucky and found plenty in stock and the place is empty on a tuesday morning . dont need copy paper , dont need envelopes , dont need scotch tape, etc but next time i need to visit staples i might need them all. read more

I visited this location on Aug 17th 2018. I arrived around 10:50am... I was there to exchange some ink that one of their associates recommended as compatible with my printer. It turns out that it was not compatible. I am well aware that everyone makes mistakes, however when I visited to exchange my item, the two managers on duty completely dropped the ball in rectifying the situation. The first Manager named LIZ did not even look at me when she arrived to the counter, she did not address me at all, we never spoke. She only spoke to the sales associate... she then called over another manager named RITA. Now, I'm not sure why Rita could do what Liz couldn't if they were both managers... but okay. Rita then comes over, and while I am getting the model number for the sales associate, Rita begins saying "Oh this is used... oh there's nothing I can do with this... oh I need your debit card..." keep in mind, this is WHILE I am CLEARLY trying to get the model number for the sales associate. So now as the customer, I'm flustered. She sees me in the middle of that and continues to speak to me with her nasty attitude. After I asked her to give me a second, I proceed to explain to her that 1. It was NOT used & what my issue was.... which she CUTS ME OFF to tell me "there's nothing I can do without your debit card." Now, while I completely understand that a policy is a policy, I am also aware that there's a way to state your policy while also being receptive to what the customer has to say. I am a store manager for a company who values customer service and if I ever saw my employees in that type of interaction, it'd be a BIG problem. That's unacceptable. Cutting me off while I'm speaking is simply rude and disrespectful. Even if there was absolutely nothing she could have done for me, there was still a way for her to show me that I am valued as a customer. I teach it to my employees everyday. I really hope this company is not one who values customer service because if you are, Liz and Rita really dropped the ball today. Not one "sorry" was given. They made me feel insignificant and unappreciated as a customer (the reason they have a job) Let's not forget that I was only there because THEIR associate suggested the wrong ink! And I was willing to overlook that because as a manager, I understand people make mistakes. Liz and Rita showed the 3 associates that were present at the moment that their behavior was acceptable and tolerable. I figured I'd post this here since speaking to HR was useless. I am a former associate of Staples store 0005 located at 465 Tuckahoe Rd Yonkers, NY 10710 United States. September 08, 2019 I was scheduled 10am-6pm. At approximately 3pm September 8, 2019 store Manager Monica directed disrespectful slurs towards me out of personal frustrations she expressed due to how busy the store was. I was assisting a customer make a return for which I had called her over to assist because the customer didn't have his receipt. The first time I called her over she walked away without verifying if I was able to complete return on my own. I had only been a Staples Associate at most 3 weeks. The second time around the computer screen crashed and she stated when she walked back over that I should call someone else over because she was going on break. I was still with the same customer whom needed to make the return and at this point he got frustrated and stated he did not have time to wait for Manager Monica to return from break. Manager Monica proceeded being rude and nasty. I made the decision to walk away and she proceeded to tell me to clock out. It had been days she had been atoganozing me and making rude comments in efforts to get a reaction out of me. In the 2-3 weeks I worked at Staples I had seen her be rude to other employees and careless with customers. How she got a supervisor/managerial position I really don't know. All my years of sales and customer service related experience I had never seen such disorganization and micro management amongst same level employees and it was an atmosphere solely created directly by how rude and nasty management at this store is. Earlier that same day I had heard her make comments concerning her need for drugs due to frustration of the busy work day. It appeared to me Monica's erratical behavior must have been due to being under the influence of a drug substance. I made the decision to resign because I couldn't stand her any longer and I didn't want to be apart of an organization with such lack of ethical standards. Before leaving on September 8th, I walked over to another manager, Manager Rita, and told her I quit and asked her what she needed from me. She stated she needed my name badge and my shirt. I handed her my name badge and stated I didn't have an undershirt on so I couldn't give her my Staples shirt. I walked over to the pharmacy in the same mall where Staples store is located, bought a shirt and changed out of Staples shirt. I went back into Staples store and handed Manager Rita my shirt. On my way out of the Staples store Manager Monica proceeded to walk towards me, insult me and threaten me. She made racial comments about my hair and stated that if she wasn't on the clock she would have hit me. Days before other cashiers spoke about a verbal dispute between herself and another employee Jordan. After she threatened me on my way out of the store, I went to the local precinct near the Staples store. I explained to two officers the situation and they encouraged me to speak to corporate or someone of higher level management. The officers explained to me that being that she did not state directly that she would kill me or shoot me, I couldn't make a police report. After I left the precinct I attempted to call the staples corporate office but being that it was a Sunday and outside of business hours, I could not get in contact with anybody. I proceeded to call Staples Customer Service and spoke to representative by the name of Gener. After explaining to him what had happened he took my contact information (my name, email, and phone number) and stated someone would reach out to me via phone the next day September 9th as well as send me an email where I could document what had happened. I got a call from hr the following day to confirm what I had disclosed and haven't heard anything else back until this day. read more

I've been to this Staples a few times before to print from the copy/print machines and the process has been rather smooth up until today. A few weeks ago, I asked for heavier stock paper for the print machine and it was fine. Today, I go in and ask for the same thing again so that I can print a one-page 8.5x11" pdf from my USB and was told by an associate (I was told her name is Emily) the card stock will not work with the printer. I told her it is not card stock but is a slightly heavier paper, which worked last time. She said it's the 67/70 lb and would go check. She apparently goes to help another associate with a customer then comes back (she barely checked) to tell me they don't have it available now. I asked if she would print on the card stock using their printer from behind the counter since it's just one sheet. I assumed it would be okay being that I am only one of two customers at the time and they were clearly not doing any other print jobs. She looked annoyed then told me she would have to charge a rush fee. While it all sounds really reasonable, I've been dealing with Staples for years and have never received this sort of treatment before. I've never been charged a rush fee for as long as I've used Staples (for simple print jobs no less) and this is all because of one employee's incompetence. It made me upset enough to write this review while still in-store. Planning to use a different store for my print jobs in the future. read more

I recently visited Staples on Tuckahoe Road, I was on crutches because I had broken my leg in April. I had to commend all of the sales associates at this branch. They went out of their way to help me. Despite the store being crowded they showed me around to everything I needed and when I said I was OK and would browse a bit they came back and checked on how I was doing. This location is always well stocked with supplies and merchandise. There is usually plenty of parking. The store is neat and well kept. The employees are very helpful, they are also friendly and eager to help. Thankfully the store is rarely overcrowded except during back to school season. Asked to scan 10 images for a high resolution printing. They gave me back each file size of 1.2 mg max. Scans are terribly crooked, seems like the associate didn't even bother to press the book for images to be scanned right. They charged me $27 for all this. Please do yourself a huge favor and just find another place for scanning services. read more

This is one of the worst store I have ever been to. I gave a print job at 8:30am came into check on them at 6pm the girl at print center said they dont print morning orders until 8:30pm. Came back get my order at 8:30pm they still dont have the item ready. They made me wait until the store is closed to pick up the item. Why do thins to your customer? I would have rather gone to another place if you guys have told me that you all are irresponsible and don't care about your job and your customers. I spent hours at the store today and hardly know where to begin. Though the staff working in the copy center were super nice they were so overworked it took forever to get anything done. 1) It took 20 minutes to get a paper cutter, after reminding them numerous times. They had to replace the blades on the cutter but they also had to keep doing work orders and wait on customers. 2) It took about 45 minutes to get receipts for the copying I did on the self serve machines. The salesperson printed out my receipts but had to pick them up from the other side of the store. After waiting at the counter for 5 minutes I went to the other side of the store to see what the problem was. The printer thought there was a paper jam every 2 pages so there was a very long queue of print jobs that had to be printed before they could print my receipts and the printer had to be removed and replaced every 2 pages. I used the restroom, got a sandwich at the deli next door, went out to my car and waited and waited in between. 3) I waited 60 minutes for the color copier. I was about to use the self serve color copier when another man came in who only had to print 1-page. I let him go first but the machine didn't work. He waited about an hour while they tried to fix the machine again and again. 4) I waited 25 minutes to get my 20 page document scanned and emailed and then got the bill ($24!). 5) All afternoon the loudspeaker announced that customers were waiting on hold on the phone for the Copy Center. 2 staff people were trying to do the copy jobs that were lined up, fix the self serve copiers, answer the phones wait on customers (there was a constant line). They were moving fast under a lot of stress but they can't possibly keep up. I would avoid this store unless you have endless amounts of time to waste. read more

If The management of this Staples location was smart, they would be reviewing their yelp reviews and making some strategic changes to give better customer service in their copy center. Management is not paying attention if this problem persists and they lose customers because of it. read more
