Tech (?) came out and blamed water heater leaking (5 yr old unit), when I could see water running from the copper line "fitting", line feeding water heater. (My diagnoses need new water line). 3. After seeing picture the day before, tech said no room to work to replace line, and water heater needed to be removed! (Umm, no) 4. Told company to leave. They did so w/o a word. 5. On April 6, 2021, Star 5 Plumbing technician flooded my second floor bathroom. He was just supposed to replace valves. He left one open, turned the water on outside and explosion of water was immediately everywhere. My child was passing by the bathroom and told me that there was a water fountain coming from the bathroom. This company was proud to be top of the line because of their customer reviews. I just got around to doing this review because I'm still haunted by that day. I can only imagine how many customers they've messed up with whom hasn't had the time to write their review nor want to re-live the horrendous mishaps. There will be no updates to this. read more

Daphne the receptionist was so friendly over the phone, answered calls almost immediately, answered any questions we had, and called us back promptly with answers when she didn't have them. Mitko came in diagnosed our problem within five minutes and promptly sent the report to our home warranty company, resulting in all parts being covered. On the day of service, when Mitko got held up with another job, Daphne asked if we could reschedule and when I let her know that that wouldn't work for us. She let the team know and another technician was at my house within an hour. Stan was very efficient and installed our new valves and disposal within 45 minutes. I have used Mike and his company 3 times. They were sent out through my home warranty company. They installed a new faucet to my washing machine and did a great job so I hired them to replace my bathtub fixtures at the end of 2019. The technician they sent did not correctly cement the stopper to the pipe and over the next year, every time I took a bath it leaked into the ceiling of my neighbors garage. When Star Five came out to inspect what was leaking, the guy realized what the issue was, and I could see his face when I explained one of their technicians installed the bath fitting. I called Mike and did not get any kind of apology or admission of fault, he just replied 30 day warrantee!! I had to repair my neighbors ceiling at my own expense. So beware. I can understand a limited warrantee, but surely they should carry liability insurance. read more

I had a main line leak (under the front yard) and Star 5 did a great job. When I called they came out the next day and verified the leak. Crew came out the next day and did a beautiful job of replacing all the pipe, etc. They went under sidewalks and curbing to do as little damage as possible--and cleaned up as best possible when they were done. The next morning, dry-wall guy came out and re-drywalled the ~10' hole in the garage and re-textured. I threw a coat of paint on it and it looks brand new. Nice Bulgarian guys. We just had a hot water tank replaced and from contact till when the job was done was less than 24 hours. The European gentleman who did the work was excellent at explaining code items to us like earthquake straps and pans that we were unfamiliar with. Then when he finished the tank we added an extra job of the tub and he completed that also!!!!! His work was excellent and he was a pleasure to have around. I would recommend him anytime!!! Stan "the Man" was quick, knowledgeable and friendly. Im the curious type that likes to watch and ask many, many questions. He answered them all. He did not come in aiming to replace the water heater, but instead first asked if the breakers were checked, then proceeded to check source voltage. Step by step the correct way. Had main water leak coming from "somewhere". Called another company and after a week, they were not responsive with an estimate. Decided to call Mike at Star 5 on Tuesday and he sent a tech within 3 hours. Problem identified, estimate given (very reasonable) and work started the next morning. Mike the owner came with Chris the tech to verify all work that needed to be done. Chris was very knowledgeable, clean, neat and knew what he was he doing. Had a leak in my ceiling so I called my warranty company and they sent out these guys, tech came out looked around at my ceiling and I told him where the spot was so he went up in the attic but not all the way in and said there is no pipe over there and that my roof was leaking and I said hear it dripping and he said those are just the pipes making noise he then got on the phone with his boss and he talked to me and triedd to tell me I have a leak in my roof and that the sound I hear is not a leak and its the pipe making noises because its cold Immediately knew it was completely BS!!! So I had some one look at the roof and said it was fine no leaks so I call my warranty back and tell them the situation and they tell me they are still waiting for this company to release the report so they can send someone else out and they lagged on purpose smh finally another company came out and did a REAL INSPECTION and guess what!!! I started my "DIY pandemic" task of replacing my kitchen faucet. It took about an hour to remove the old faucet because of 10+ years of use and corrosion. I then examined the water supply valves and discovered that they wouldn't turn off, therefore they needed to be replaced. I shut off the water to my house with the intent of replacing all of the valves too. After struggling with the compression nut for 20 minutes, I realized I needed a professional plumber. Using Yelp as my guide, I contacted a highly rated company that was able to send a technician(s) in a reasonable time period. When they arrived, I was shown a sheet of paper with specific prices which included a charge of $99.00 per each water supply valve and was then quoted an hour labor to install the faucet, which totaled approximately $450.00. The price seemed very unreasonable, so I declined. The technician wanted to charge me a $49.00 trip charge, which I wasn't told about when I scheduled the estimate. He said their dispatchers were new so he didn't charge me for the trip. I then called Star 5 Plumbing and spoke to Mike. I described my plumbing issues to him and he gave me an "approximate" estimate on the telephone, which was significantly less money than the first estimate. He then said his technician, Stan would arrive later this afternoon, between 2 PM and 3 PM. Stan arrived in the given time period. He was extremely professional and courteous. The wife and I immediately felt comfortable with him. He looked at the issues and immediately began to address them. In less than one (1) hour, the three (3) water valves were replaced and the new faucet was installed. Stan cleaned up everything and ensured that there was nothing leaking before he left. From start to finish, Star 5 Plumbing was outstanding. Mike was pleasant and informative on the telephone and Stan was unbelievable. The 105 degree days in Vegas have been grueling, but after my water heater resigned in protest, I appreciated having to merely endure a lukewarm shower rather than one that would have clattered my teeth and chilled my bones. Being a top-notch interweb gumshoe, I was able to pinpoint the failure. Being a city boy with a complete lack of handy skills, I could proceed no further. So I called Mike. Mike, the owner of the business, is on point. I called him at 7 in the evening and was forwarded to his personal number. He answered, listened to my description of the fault, asked me several questions, provided me with a ballpark estimate, and asked me to text him some photos and other miscellaneous information. I did so a little later and he again responded within minutes. The following morning, he got an early start and quickly notified me of his availability. I asked him if he could show up relatively late in the day and he was able to accommodate. He arrived with all his equipment, diagnosed the problem, provided a fixed price for his labor, and promised to return the next day with the replacement part, which he also told me was still under warranty. Note: most water heaters come with a 6-year warranty. Check your serial number against the manufacturer. Note: I called 5 other businesses, a mix between plumbers and electricians -- 3 refused to provide quotes, and 2 gave me higher estimates. Note: Mike speaks with a heavy Bulgarian accent. He explained to me in short detail what needs to be done. He said he had to wait to get approval from home warranty but will promptly reschedule. We were heading into the weekend but come Monday he was right back in and got the toilet all fixed up. Something that i thought would take at least a couple hours to repair he did in less than 30 minutes. He was very professional and came in with a mission and completed it. hahaha. He was a good guy. I wish we had a lot of them. Are you serious? Now they're vacuuming! These guys are just freaking awesome!!! Okay, rewind to last week when I found some warm areas in my kitchen tile - too warm for December. Turns out we had broken water lines under our slab in several areas and would need to reroute our pipes. This meant several days of cutting holes in the walls, a half day with no water, pipes rerouted, and drywall repairs - ugh!!! Based on the advice of a friend, we called Star 5 Plumbing. They came out and gave us estimates based on three different scenarios. Since we planned to stay in this house for a long time, we opted to have all the pipes rerouted.
