I went to this testing location after spending nearly two months getting my car repaired and ready for a smog check. There was a fair wait, which is to be expected, but when they were finally finished they told me that I failed my test because I have an aftermarket catalytic converter. For context, my cat converter was stolen 4 years ago and replaced at a mechanic. Its passed smog before but they explained that due to strict new CA laws my car will not pass unless I replace the catalytic converter. Not their fault, but the reason I do not recommend this place is because they easily could have checked that first and let me know before making me sit there and wait through the whole test THEN charge me $60 for nothing. I'm sure they know it's not worth it to me to spend $2000 on a brand new cat converter for a 19 year old car, but instead they went through the process to get my 60 bucks and send me on my way. On a side note, it's pretty crazy that the very law CA put in place to protect people like myself from getting stolen from is being used to ensure that I can no longer drive my vehicle even though I've already paid my registration and repair fees. read more

They're open on Sundays! I'm pretty tightly scheduled, so having the flexibility to bring my car in a Sunday is great. You get a discount with the Yelp check-in. This place ended up giving me nothing but a total headache and tons of auto repair bills just to pass the stupid California Smog Test. I am completely annoyed and I never would come back here again. I came in end of October to have my car smog checked. It is a 2015, in otherwise good repair, and maintenance is up to date. Please be aware that an emissions test now is only done with an OBD 2 reader which is one that plugs in to the bottom of the drivers side of a car. There is no longer a sensor or a dinomap placed in the tailpipe measuring actual exhaust or toxic gases. My car read fine on the OBD scan and when he opened the hood to check the tubes my air intake hose had a crack. He documented a fail instead of just having me come back to repeat it or issuing a smog certificate after the repair. He immediately tried to send me to his mechanic and I refused stating I have my own who I trust. I took my car to a Honda dealer for one part of the repair and second part was at an Aamco. I wasn't forewarned by my smog tech that this was a possibility. The smog tech accused me of tampering with my car and finally came to the conclusion my battery was disconnected. Per Honda this was a necessary part of the repair for safety purposes to not ruin a sensor. After this mess I had to deal with a bunch of pending error codes and nonsense spending money on diagnostics and figuring out why my computer in my car had an issue. Needless to say I will never return to this location again. I recommend you don't unless you want to deal with a lingering headache. read more
