During my visit, etching material was spilled on my skin and burned me. I now have a scar, and instead of taking responsibility, the office refused to acknowledge their mistake and even tried to scare me by saying I'd have to deal with legal fees if I wanted accountability. Etch should never come into contact with a patient's skin, and dismissing harm in this way is unacceptable. This happened right around my wedding, adding unnecessary stress to what should have been a joyful time. I have been going here for over a year and have had great experiences every time. Dr. Nguyen is a great dentist and does an incredible job with my dental needs. I would not want to go to anybody else. The ladies at the front desk, Diana and Dori, are the nicest people that you could possibly ask for. This place is horrible! My daughter was a patient there until recently. They fucked up her crown and did not fully take care of a cavity which in return is a bigger issue now. This is the worst dentist I ever been too. If you care about your teeth do not go here, I repeat DO NOT GO HERE. I'm a previous patient of star dental and the list is far too long. Been going to them since I was 18 &' I'm now 22 &' if I would've known better I would've ran much sooner. Let me start out by saying they've put fillings on my teeth and did not fill them all the way leaving gaps on my teeth and in between my teeth, I now have to get a possible crown on one of the teeth they have worked on. I got told sometime last year In 2024 that I had a cavity and they needed to drill it &' fill it. Okay cool no biggie I go in and I'm getting my tooth worked on just to be told that my cavity was to far in the root &' they couldn't do no more so he filled my tooth with a gap remaining in my roots. You would think a dentist would know that before he drills in your tooth and injects your gums... They constantly have new nurses and I think they don't know shit bc the last girl that did my cleaning had the hardest time trying to floss my teeth. I have a tooth they worked on that is missing half of its filling so there's a gap over my tooth. I have had two root canals with star dental and now I'm starting to wonder if I even needed them at all or if they just don't know shit and want to charge anyone a pretty penny. I don't think they care about the patients at all it's always rushed. The front office ladies are always rude. Overall I don't recommend them and think they should be shut down with the shit they did to my teeth never accommodated me or anything. I had no urgent problems, absolutely no pain or sensitivity anywhere. But I decided to go in for a routine cleanIng with this new Dentist that was on my provider list, since I got a new insurance program through my Medicare advantage . After the most painful cleaning I had ever gotten in my 60 years, by Dr. Miller, teeth are still extremely sensitive nine months later. Maybe he's good with some people but he was very rough with my teeth with that Dremel tool. It's like a nerve or pulp is exposed now. He also wanted to run up my annual insurance payout to the hilt, saying I should have 11 teeth filled, "as a preventative", in addition to other work. Mind you I went in with absolutely no pain or sensitivity problems. I would never go back to him after how rough and greedy he was with me. I have been deciding whether or not to write this review for all these past months, because I don't like leaving negative reviews. But it was that bad. Some people give him glowing reviews. So I guess it's a gamble. I will say the hygienist Edmundo was excellent and gentle with the x-rays. I wish Dr. Miller would have let Edmundo do the cleaning also. I would like to say thank you Dr. Miller and I've been with you for a while. You've worked on my teeth, my children, and I finally decided that you needed to do My Husband mouth. He had old bands and braces on his bottom teeth for 17 years that wear stuck in his gums and his top teeth ...what teeth he had no teeth at all just nubs and rotten black teeth his gums where inflamed he looked horrible he had so much shame and would always say why do you want to be with me I'm a toothless guy ?? But that's not what I cared about all my trips I would talk to dori we had many conversations and that's when I said I need to get him in here because having teeth that are like that is a life or death situation and a lot of people don't realize that my kids kept saying mom where scared he will die in his sleep he has poison ruining threw his body so I pushed for the appointment and doctor Miller made it happen I was so shocked how he made such beautiful teeth when my husband had no teeth on top to make a model out of to have something that looked similar to what he would have if he had a regular smile, but with the impressions Dr. Miller took from the top mouth made a amazing smile my husband picked out his own teeth meaning shade and the size he had to pick from they went from there. We did the top first an the bottom's second we don't have insurance we paid about 6 grand but let me tell you people that need dental work this dentist has the most fair prices. Even when getting your cavities filled general work and you just have to be a cash patient even for dentures. This was something that needed to be done and some people think oh 6 grand is a lot of money, but in the end, not really when it comes to a nice smile, and even if you have fear Dr. Miller makes sure that you feel comfortable and he'll keep trying to make sure that he meets your needs and you look good and you feel good about yourself. He always does his best to make everybody feel that way and Dori Dori's amazing she is the backbone for Dr. Miller when she left I said oh gosh I didn't even know what to do with that. Everything was going to go to hell and as soon as she left, she came back she wasn't gone that long and I'm so thankful she came back because she knows everything and she's so kind to everybody. Thanks doctor miller as I type this I cry but because I'm happy you have changed his life he's happier and smiles in every picture now he always looks in the mirror these are things he never did before but thanks to you he is a changed man I don't have to worry any more if he will die in his sleep .. people teeth are nothing to play with they affect are whole body and blood take it serious I know some are scared are can't afford it but take a chance with doctor Miller he's one of the most amazing doctors I have ever had I will never leave he's patient and kind. I don't care what anybody has to say about Dr. Miller. If you don't have a backbone then you can't handle Dr. Miller he tells you like it is he doesn't sugarcoat nothing I even have work done with him and he knows that all my enamel is gone on the front of my teeth and he always make sure to cover my teeth up so the cold water doesn't hurt my teeth when he does work on my teeth, and he always make sure he puts a little cotton in between the glasses so he doesn't mess up my eyelash extensions. He's just a great guy. He's a good person to talk to you. He actually cares he tries to find solutions for the problem even if you can't afford a root canal and if you have to get that tooth polled, he'll talk to you and let you know what he thinks is best, but for what he did for my husband's teeth, I would say he did amazing job. There might be a little hiccups here and there, but there's nothing that we can't fix. All I know is that the smile on his face shows joy and happiness. He feels about himself when you walk around your whole life with messed up teeth and rotten teeth and missing teeth and old braces and bands from when you were a kid to finally having a beautiful smile that something we're thankful for. Yeah, it might've been my money but it was Dr. Miller's work that made it happen and how he actually cares about his patience we or not just to him like other doctors are he genuinely cares .. we thank you Dr. Miller. The dentist was kind (George Miller). Front desk was kind as well. I went in for my yearly check up that my insurance covered but they still charged me 40 bucks that included check up, x-rays and cleaning. They wouldn't do the cleaning because I needed a deep cleaning they just told me "there's no point" but didn't really explain to me why. They told me I had 8 cavities. Got one filled because it was bothering me forever. Had to go back because it stayed so sensitive. Even after going the second time for months after I couldn't eat on my right side from the filling it would hurt a lot. I was told to give it time and I did and till now it's still taking time. Went to a new dentist for a second opinion and was told I actually only have 1 cavity. How I said, they have friendly staff and answered all my questions over the phone. Dr. Do is amazing! I hate going to the dentist. Every time, he and his staff are so kind and patient with me. They truly care about you here. From cleanings, to not having insurance, to root canals. They went above and beyond to make sure we got the full use out of my insurance before it was up. I am a wimp. Dr. Do was super understanding. He is also honest. Instead of being greedy and taking my money on a tooth he could have pulled, he referred my elsewhere, where they would put me to sleep. Also, every time I have anything more than a cleaning, they call and check on me the next day. Don't be turned off by the location. Do not go here. This place is TRASH just like the area it's in. When you stay up on cleaning every 6 months, you know when somethings off or wrong. I told them about an issue I was having and they proceeded to take only maybe 5 minutes cleaning my teeth quick X-rays and said I was good to go. My mouth didn't feel clean when I was done. And they didn't follow ANY procedure I've seen in the past from every other dentist. The receptionist is a sweetheart. I came to Dr Wendy who was SO nice, so informative and helpful. I really appreciate her honesty when it came to what I needed to have done and what could wait. She made me feel calm and comfortable before an extraction. But when I got my cleaning--ouch! 5 stars for friendliness and customer service. But that was the most painful cleaning I've ever had. Okay, how can I put this? First, let me say that these people are VERY professional and quick. I was referred to this company by my insurance agency due to the fact that I have been going back and forth with my insurance and affordable dental as to why I had to wait a year to see an oral surgeon. Anyway, after a long talk with Liberty (my insurance agency), they finally sent me to Star dental who not only took me the same day, but i only had to wait 10 minutes to get seen. I don't know about you guy but to me, that is a WOW factor!!! Not only that but they have the best hospitality, very protective of your information, they listen to your needs and they work with you. I'm not going to lie my teeth are bad (don't judge me I had a past) but I was sat down and together with me and one of the assistants ( please forgive me i list the card with all of their names) came up with a logical and affordable plan to get my mouth back to health. I want to recommend this office to you because the people in that office actually listen and they care. I went in on Friday and extraction is on Monday!!! They are awesome!!!! Thank you, everyone, at Star Dental for their patients, understanding and their ability to get you in and out while leaving you with the feeling of accomplishment. First of all its rare I give any place 5 stars but I tried to think of a reason to take one away and I just couldn't. So since the only review besides mine didn't say too much let me give you more detail. I HATE going to the dentist. Lets get that outta the way right now. I probably haven't been to one in YEARS (and by years, I mean a decade). Needless to say I wasn't excited about being reacquainted with ANY dentist. Also, I have several tooth problems. Way more then I should, but I am totally one of those people that normally go see the dentist, then they give me a prescription to reduce the pain before getting work done and I NEVER come back once the pain is gone, which means the issues are are still there. Also, a long time ago I had a previous issue with a dentist that made me not too fond of returning. Now onto this place. I had my wisdom teeth causing me to bite down on my gums, and just couldn't stop the pain so needed an appointment asap. I walk into this place being fairly close to my apartment and there was no wait (I did NOT make any type of call before hand). The lady at the front greeted me nicely and looked into this dental discount thing I had. I asked when they were available and she said they could see me now. Sweet! So for new patients an xray exam is only $29, which is cheaper then anywhere else I saw. She did the xrays, chatted a bit and was very friendly. Then the dentist, Dr. Do came in to try to locate where the pain was. We decided it was my wisdom tooth and I knew if i didn't get it pulled today I wouldn't ever so I went ahead with it. Although it did take a while to pull, he kept making sure I was numb (and giving me more numbing stuff if I wasn't numb enough). I didn't hardly feel any pain and things went pretty smooth. He then explained in detail why it was a little harder to pull (the roots were funny) and also explained some other work I needed to eventually get done. Gave me some prescriptions and I was on my way. They even took away the xray fee at the end. Now just because I know so many people hate dentists like me, this is WHY I would return here. The staff was nice, they were NOT pushy about getting any other work done that I needed unlike most dentists. They were able to see me right away, AND their prices are more then reasonable for those uninsured like me. Although I wouldn't say the visit was "fun", it was effective, friendly and I would (and probably will) return to Dr. Do. Now don't expect any thrills, its a small shop, they dont give u goodies at the end (or maybe it was just me) but for me walking into the office and getting a tooth pulled right off the bat without knowing of the dentist, I left happy. He even joked a little at the end saying most people start off at a new dentist with something small not like, HEY PULL MY TOOTH! But Im glad I did, and if I can trust him you can too... Since I JUST did this today, Im going to guess with proper care it will not be infected and I will have no further issues. If I could give zero stars I would! RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! First, they tell you over the phone that they take your dental insurance and that they're running a "special" for x-rays and cleaning for just $49.00. I figure, ok, my insurance will pay for part of it and I will pay the rest. Well, my appointment was on a Saturday and my insurance office was closed for a verification of benefits. They front desk clerk assures me she'll call on Monday to verify my insurance and she also promises to call me that same day to let me know what's covered. I pay the $49.00 and wait for a call. By the next Saturday I still have no call back, so I call them. I'm told by a different front office person that I'll be called back in the afternoon, when the other person that took my insurance info and made me pay the full price comes in. I get the call and am assured that they owe me $28.00 and the dr will write a check, they don't credit your card, just a check! I wait ANOTHER week, no check. I call and am told they ran out of checks! As soon as they get new checks in, they'll mail it to me. Only now it's gone from $28.00 to $24.00. Then I get another call from the "office manager" and am told that they did me a "courtesy" by only charging $49.00, it's usually $89.00! Since my insurance only covered $29.00 of bill, they take that, charge me the $49.00 in addition and say there's no refund!! What a rip off place!! Plus, the cleaning was only half baked. Dr Do is a nice man but all he's good for is teeth cleaning! I made a BIG MISTAKE having him do three crowns for me. Not only does he have a lab that CAN NOT make crowns that look natural but Dr Do will screw-up other dental work that you already had done else where and then take NO RESPONSIBiLITY for fixing it!!!!!! He'll just send you on your way after screwing-up other dental work!!!!! Stay away from this so-called Dentist! read more
