I went in first by myself with the ring and David looked at the ring and thought it could be enlarged and detailed to an 80% match. He also had someone show me new rings, but he noted they would all be $1,000+ due to the current price of gold. I was entirely prepared to buy a new ring. David offered to sell me a new ring he had in stock so my husband had something to open on our anniversary and said we could come back in and either get the ring I bought sized or let him pick another ring if he preferred another style. While he made that offer, he suggested I come back in with my husband so he could be properly sized and we could try to enlarge his existing ring. I brought my husband back the following week and we learned his ring size has gone from a 9 when we were married to an 11 1/4. I didn't think there was any way the ring could be expanded that much, but David talked to Bobby and they thought they could do it to an 85% match for $200. We decided to try the resizing route because my husband was sentimental about his original ring, but with the understanding that if we didn't like the match we would replace it with a new ring. When I picked up the ring, I was amazed! I could not see any imperfections. Perhaps you could with a jeweler's ring, but nobody is looking at a ring on someone's hand with a jeweler's ring. Today is our 32nd wedding anniversary. The resized ring was on my husband's hand (his choice) before he even got in the shower. This is why I will continue to patronize Golden Gifts - David and Bobby value long term customers. We were an easy upsell and it was only with the recommendation of David that we went the route of resizing. This was to Golden Gifts' short-term detriment, but ensured we will remain long term customers regardless of when we live.

Today I visited The Diamond Factory of Ann Arbor inside of Briarwood Mall. The store had a sign…read moreoutside claiming "WE BUY GOLD & Diamonds Highest Price Paid Guaranteed" which led me to believe that I would be presented with a fair and reasonable offer for my 2+ gram, 14K white gold engagement ring with two small side diamonds. A 2 gram 14K white gold melt value is $99. The spot price of gold is currently $2,633.53/ounce as of 12/7/24. The manager (supposedly named Victor) and his sales associate (Rafi) offered me only $56 for the ring, despite me already having a prior offer for $250. Victor (real name apparently Vicken Tufenkjian according to public state filings) even claimed that the store didn't have an owner when confronted about his false and misleading sign. Victor also refused to tell me his full name when I told him that I was going to file a complaint. At one point he even tried to falsely claim that my ring wasn't actually gold. To make matters worse, when I returned to the store and explained to Victor that other jewelers inside of Briarwood quoted my ring at around $400, he called the mall police to try to intimidate me instead of addressing my concerns professionally. Five allied security guards along with an Ann Arbor police officer were unnecessarily called on me. I left the store and immediately filed a complaint with the FTC. This experience was extremely frustrating, inconvenient, and disturbing. Please steer clear of this store and go somewhere where you will be treated fairly. PS: if you have bought any jewelry at this store in the past I would strongly suggest that you have it checked for authenticity by another jeweler.

She was trying to support small business as we felt they would take more pride in their work and we have been shopping here for a long time (as well as our families). The worker took the ring and said it would be no problem. It took over 2 weeks and when we got it back the rings weren't even touching. My wife was so upset. My mother in law took the ring back in and they told her it wasn't possible to get the rings closer. We wanted to keep our business with them but they left us no choice. We took it down the street to F.A.O. Jewelers. They were in awe. We dropped it off yesterday morning and by 4pm today they had it done. Completely re-soldered and looks perfect. They made me aware that many people have had this same issue. Very sad. Hate to write bad reviews against small businesses and wish they could change my mind. If you are young couple looking to save money anywhere you can, just take it to F.A.O. Unfortunately we didn't have $130 to spare but we were left with no choice. For starters, Sergio is quick, fairly priced, knowledgeable and incredibly polite. But he is also a throwback to the days of craftsmen/craftspersons who take their work seriously and also take great pride in their workmanship. My son inherited a watch from my recently deceased father. After carefully sizing it for my son's smaller wrist and removing a few metal watchband links, Sergio looked my son in the eye, shook his hand, and told him to treasure the watch because he knew the significance of the timepiece to us. It isn't the monetary value, but Sergio and his wife understood instinctively the real value of the watch to us, and the ritual of handing down a family keepsake. It helped my son learn a lesson and I know he will value the watch more because of the way Sergio treated it. I just love this guy. He will have my jewelry repair business for as long as he is in the community.

After they had finished it, they mentioned they noticed a small crack that they filled before stretching and then went ahead and tried.
