We stopped in last night, for the first time, for a lite bite... really just wanted a beverage. The service was excellent! Our server, Ishika was a delight and efficient. We visited this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday with the kids and the experience was phenomenal. Not only did we have some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten, but the service was amazing as well. They really made our family feel welcome, and it is such a beautiful venue. Are you looking for a quiet, private dining experience, without a reservation? Well then, Star Lounge & Bar is exactly what you want on an early Friday evening. Star did basically nothing to lend itself to a lounge atmosphere, it looks exactly like how it did as Trinity Gastropub. Honestly, I wish it was still Trinity, there is little redeeming about this current iteration. Pros + Cocktails: At $10, currently, that is a deal. The Chambered margarita was tasty, but too full (spilling with even the tiniest sip). + If you don't like crowds, this is your place! We were the only customers eating food at 5:30 pm on a Friday. There was 1 other bro, but he was just at the bar drinking. Cons - Food coming out whenever the F the chef wants. Does not make sense to receive your main dish before the naan comes out. Also, so many dishes came at once, we had trouble arranging everything on the table. They need to understand the flow of a meal. - Naan: something was off about it. At times flakey, other times seemingly underdone, it made me feel awful afterwards. - Overpriced for what you get: the Butter Chicken was mostly sauce, definitely not enough chicken at all. I liked the flavor of the sauce, but left feeling unsatisfied. - Samosas: a bit too spicy, and needed an additional chutney. - Waitress never came over to ask how it was, or to refill water. WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS DINING. She rather look out the window, or socialize with the other waitress. I would go back to Star for a drink, but would dine elsewhere. read more

Only the beginning.... Star Lounge & Bar was only in it's "soft launch" phase when we stopped in on a Sunday at noon. Their full Open House is planned for early March 2024. We had originally stopped in for lunch but, once we sat at our table and looked at our menus, we were very surprised that this is an Indian Cuisine Restaurant. This is 100% on me. I saw great reviews, skimmed a few but I went on the stars alone. Also, I thought it would be interesting to see what was done with the long vacant home to what was The Trinity Pub. Out of the gate, I have to say that Indian Cuisine is probably our biggest go-to for dining out and take out. If you're a fan, then you know the Cincy area is flush with some really fantastic Indian restaurants. With that said, this is just not what I was expecting or had a taste for during this visit. I was looking for more of a brunch, sandwich, lunch type place and maybe a drink. We quickly decided to go with a drink and an appetizer since we were there. We're so glad we did.... We ordered a glass of wine, an orange cream cider and a vegetable pakora appetizer. The drinks were drinks. The vegetable pakora was beautiful. Hot, fresh as it was made to order and delicious. It came with two sauces/chutney's but we're not sure what they were exactly. One was really good and the other we were not a fan of. But the pakoras themselves were great. After we were done, we had a chance to speak with our server a bit about the business. She stated that their Chef likes to put a "twist" on things and not deliver the same old fare. He likes to be creative and prepare good, fresh food made to order. If the pakoras were a good example of this, we can't wait to go back. She also spoke of the overall target of the restaurant and it's menu. From what she said, they're looking to have a 50/50 Indian / American Pub Food menu, if I fully understood this correctly. They will have a full bar lounge downstairs, they have the full bar and restaurant upstairs and they have a great outside eating area as well, for when the weather is warmer. The one personal observation I shared with her was the fact that, unless I read closer to the reviews or visited their website, I had absolutely no idea that this was an Indian Cuisine Restaurant. Whether that is a pro or con is irrelevant. It was merely an observation. In my case, it worked out for them because we likely would not have stopped in today, but would have eventually. However, had we not stopped in today, who knows how long a new Indian Restaurant was in town and we'd not have had any idea. Would I go back? I'm very much looking forward to checking out Star Lounge & Bar when they open. At that point, I'll likely update this review with some real substance on the food. read more

Star Lounge & Bar - Vegetable Pakora - Indian Near Me - West Chester, Ohio

A welcome new family owned non-chain addition to the area! Star is still a work in progress; currently the menu is all Indian cuisine with Asian fusion...the owner advises the plan is to onboard an additional chef to add American traditional as well. The current food offerings however are just fine, and I fervently hope they all remain on the menu. The bar is spacious with plenty of seating options, good for groups as well as couples or singles. Very clean and well kept. Full bar. Hookah will be available too but only in the outside seating area. This is a very large and comfortable space, with heaters. We had chicken dumplings that were warm and comforting, well stuffed and accompanied by a hot/sweet red sauce and a thicker spicy curried sauce. They were delicious. We followed up with Railway Mutton Curry, which I've never seen on a menu before. It was great! Meat was tender with the slightest bit of crisp, very little bones. The curry was unique with a flavor blend that seemed more exotic than a typical Indian curry. Soft hot butter Naan was perfect to slurp it up. There was an interesting backstory to the name of this dish. Ask! The owner herself was our principal server and she was so kind and welcoming, as well as enthusiastic to talk about their plans. We also got some takeaway for tomorrow so I'll update on that after we eat! They changed their Sunday hours from 11 AM opening to noon opening but open at 11 the other days. That's bad for my usual Sunday schedule but I will make some adjustments as I hope to get back soon. Come hungry, leave happy! read more

A variety of cuisines to try, the reason we came to check it out. Crab Rangoon was a surprise because it was not the traditional that people are used to. My wife & daughter said it was good. Daughter really liked her samosas & chicken vindaloo. I enjoyed my chili chicken appetizer (spice level 4 of 5). Wasn't sure if I should try wings or chicken garlic noodles (since others posted pics of noodles). I chose the noodles and they were tasty. My wife had the steak, she said it was OK compared to the size vs price. Server very nice and sweet and attentive. The place is very clean and presentable. I have tried this restaurant a couple times now and my goodness do they get it right. Fresh, hot, and seasoned to perfection. Every dish I have tried is so good. I love their bar selection and that you can modify the spice level. Star Lounge surprised me. It's in a strange location; as there are no other restaurants really nearby so I feel like most would be making the trek there solely for them. The restaurant itself has a western saloon vibe yet the menu is Indian. Anyway, I tried about 4 dishes and they all were pretty good. The woman at the bar who took my order was very nice. I wanted to add a side of steamed or sautéed veggies that I saw in a photo. They don't have this on the menu but she was kind enough to have them prepared for me and on the house. Some menu items seem a little overpriced while others seem cheaper than expected but nothing crazy. I ordered carry out and did not purchase any drinks at the bar but I did notice plenty of signage in the interior advertising drink specials. Speaking of the interior, it was very clean and can accommodate lots of patrons. I wish this business success. read more

Something of a Fusion restaurant between Indian and Chinese. I came here when they first opened in December and rated them 3 stars. I decided to try them again now that they have a more extensive menu. We all ordered Indian food. The size of the portions was more than adequate but we had some issues with the quality and appearance of the various dishes. First, they never asked about spice levels and some of the dishes were spicier than others. Second, the way they served the food wasn't very appetizing. Two of the dishes were in a brown sauce that was so thick it was hard to know exactly what you were eating. My chicken Tikka was served on a skewer but it was over spiced and cooked too long so the white meat was dry and stringy. I don't know why other reviewers rated this place so high but I for one will not be going back anytime soon especially with the much better Indian Fusion just up the street. read more

Great reboot for the old Trinity Pub. The food here is amazing. The chicken 65 is a tasty starter. Can't miss with the Exotic Chicken Tikka Masala. The menu is a mix of Indian, Chinese, with American options (burgers and steaks). The family that runs the Star is incredibly nice. The decor is clean and reminiscent of an old English pub. The patio is open for the summer and has a fireplace in case it gets cold again. Plenty of TVs to watch the games and a well stocked bar. There is a variety of craft beers on tap. We missed the live music, but they do have on Saturdays. read more
