I came in around 5 and they were packed and understaffed so I left and came back around 6 where I waited about half an hour. Despite this, my pedicure was phenomenal. The tech was very kind and everyone kept apologizing for the wait. I chose the basic pedicure they offer (the star) and they without a doubt surpassed my expectations. The tech did not rush one bit despite the fact that they closed at 7, and I was well taken care. Girl, I'm obsessed with my nails. I asked for ombré dip. Only thing was on me, i wanted mine more coffin shaped rather than squared but I can fix that at home. Absolutely the WORST manicure I have ever gotten and she was rude. I came in and requested a full set French with black tip. I requested short almond shape. My nails were 3x longer than I requested despite repeatedly stating they were too long. The acrylic was extremely thick and uneven. The length of the nails were uneven. The venue itself looks very nice and is large despite only a few employees being there when I came in. My nails looked nice when they were finished, but very shortly after visiting the the gel started to separate from my fingers making it difficult to wash my hair without it getting stuck under the nail. Customer service also left something to be desired. The person doing my nails was very aggressive with my hands, twisting my fingers painfully to get them in the direction he wanted and sanding a chunk of my skin off that took weeks to heal. Additionally, the staff member next to me was talking poorly of other customers while they were there. This experience left me very uncomfortable and without the intention of returning. read more

Not a good first impression to someone who is new to the area. I don't think I've ever been treated so rudely at a salon because I didn't want an expensive service and brought my own nail polish with me. I also don't think I've ever spent so much on a basic manicure and pedicure before. I didn't even get the standard lotion and hand massage for my $20 basic manicure. They kept pushing for me to get dip powder from the second I walked in the door and all throughout my time their. When I asked the technician what it was all about, the only answer he gave me was that it was just better. He also told me to not bring my own polish with me next time. I will NEVER go back to this place again I made an appointment for 11:30 in the morning and was not seen for OVER AN HOUR. They literally don't care about your experience and it's clear that they are just trying to squeeze and rush everyone in to have the most clients they can that day. They will tell you that they have an open time, but when you walk in other people are waiting and they only have 2 people working. Also they don't have set prices for everything and always try to change the amount around $5 each time I come here. Probably one of the most frustrating nail salons in the area. Nails lasted about 2 days after I got them done here. Even though I couldn't understand what they were communicating about, they had a rude tone every time they did talk to me where I could understand. They became upset when I provided no tip because I already felt disrespected & the nails were definitely not worth sixty dollars. The nails were alright, but falling off TWO days after they were done? With their high prices, they should invest in something to make them stay on!! I currently have lost 3 nails & it hasn't even been a week. I haven't picked at them or done any hard work for them to fall off like a cheap set of press on nails. I'm not one to do this and I've never reviewed anything but my experience was horrible! I went it for a manicure and I told the girl I wanted something natural so we decided the ombré pink and white. Everything seemed to be okay but she just rushed through it so fast and she never would really let me look at my nails. So I go to the counter to pay and it's $60. I get in my car and actually get to look at my nails and it literally looked like something a five year old did. My nails were different sizes, shapes, had a bunch of bumps on them, and had places she missed when she did the top coat. I got home and my husband was even like what's wrong with your nails and I explained to him my experience and he told me to go back and make them fix it. I go back and I tell the owner that I'd like my nails to be fixed. She makes me sit down and I explained to her that they look horrible and I want them fixed and she was like we can just file them and put gel polish on them and I told her no they're still going to be different shapes and sizes and she told me they're gonna be that way because my nails are different sizes and need to be filed to different shapes to make them look "smaller" and for all the bumps on my nails she said it's because instead of using dip powder they used brush powder There is no such thing as brush powder because it's called acrylic. I went to cosmetology school so I'm not oblivious. I'm just irritated at this point because I've gotten my nails done plenty of times before and not one were they different sizes. Mind you I had tips added so they should all be the same size. So she finally soaks my nails to get the acrylic off and she takes it off and starts a new set and everything is going good.... I thought so at least. She files my nails and starts doing the dip powder. I look at my nails and she put a tip on crooked and told me my finger grows crooked which it doesn't because like I said before I've never had this problem before about that nail being "crooked". So she redoes that nail and I'm the last person in there. The employees start cleaning up then are ready to leave and they all crowd around me and start talking their gibberish and make me extremely uncomfortable. They do that for about 5 min then leave. The owner is just being rude and gets done then say okay bye you done and you can leave. This place has horrible customer service and provides horrible experiences. read more

I have gone to star nails about 3 or 4 times now and i must say this last time was the worst. I went in for a fill in and a pedicure. It was literally the worst pedicure of my life. He literally just ran water(he put nothing in the water) and started on my feet. He hardly scrubbed my feet and it felt like a rush job. He did un even coats of polish on my toes and thought i wouldn't notice. Secondly for my fill in.... they do good but they change their prices each time i come. The price difference is always $5-$10 each times. Sometimes my fill in is $35 and this time is was $40. They had no explanation for the price difference. And they didn't care. They do great work here but good luck getting seen in a timely fashion. I've come monthly for over a year. The past three times I've come with an appointment, I wasn't seen until an hour after my appointment time. In January my niece and I both had appointments and it was such chaos in here we ended up just getting her nails done and didn't have time for me. The second time my appt was at 1, they didn't see me until 2:10. Today my friends and I had appointments for 3pm. They were getting pedicures and I was getting a manicure. It was 3:15 before they were called. It was after 4 before they got to me. By that time my friends were done. I wasn't going to make them wait on me, plus it was over an hour past my appt time before they attempted to start my nails, so I left. Very disappointed. read more

If You enjoy Manicures and Enjoy or Require Pedicures (Old Men like Me NEED Peds as our Nails start to Thicken and Look Bad), You Owe it to yourself to try Star Nails and Spa! I was the owner Tammys client. Today I went as a walk in so I was fine with whoever did my nails but I wanted a design. Tammy was available for me but after seeing the picture I wanted she told me she couldn't do design and would put me with someone who could do it. I then had to wait 30mins (which was fine because I was a walk-in). Ms. Cathy then called me back. I showed her what I wanted and she acted comfortable with doing it. When it got time for my design she couldn't accomplish it so I told her I'll just leave it white because I have another appointment. On my way to my next appointment I called the owner and spoke to her about how I felt with Ms Cathy not being able to do the design after I waited 30mins just for the design. We agreed on me coming back in and just having a nail change color. She then called me back 5 minutes later and told me to just come get my money and take my business somewhere else. I was very disappointed but ok with that. I came back a hour before they closed. In the process of getting my money back she took pictures of me and when I ask why she said because exchange of money. So I didn't want to make a scene; so I left and called to ask why 2Xs they wouldn't even pick up the phone for me. read more
