I have been coming to this place for over 10 years. They changed management and the overall vibe just changed here. I usually went to Rose only to find out she left. I decided to try Theary. She was nothing short of incompetent and couldn't even properly take her time to do a gel mani and pedi removal. I asked for no drilling. She wouldn't let the removal set long enough and kept trying to file off the gel. I told her to quit doing that and let it take time to remove where it can easily scrape off. I went to nail school I know how to remove gel but had wanted to relax and have someone else do it. To which I couldn't even relax. She wouldn't listen to me. So I got so frustrated and I told her to just stop. I left without my gel polish being removed on my nails and toes and she had the audacity to charge me $57. Then I had to go buy acetone and remove the rest myself since I wasn't in the mood to argue over it. Very unprofessional and very unethical. I will never come back here. Amazing experience. I've always loved Xanadu from previous experiences but now I truly am a lifetime fan. Their renovation and updates are beautiful and modern. They have more of a spa like feel. The technician took her time on my pedicure which Ioved. It didn't feel rushed. I chose the deluxe with lavender scent. I really wanted to try their Volcano spa pedicure but it was $60 and I just didn't want to spend that much. Everything is very hygienic. They use bags for the water bowls, all the tools are sanitized and she opens the fresh bag in front of you. The massage was amazing. She again took her time while I drifted away to Lala land. I've had plenty of negative nail salon experiences lately. What a relief to find a great shop. Unfortunately, it's in Greenville and not Charleston. I stopped in on a Friday and I assumed it would be busy. Luckily, I didn't have to wait. There's no tv but there is music which makes the experience relaxing. I came in for an acrylic fill with gel polish. They have a great selection of gel colors. The tech was friendly. We chatted a bit and it wasn't awkward--it wasn't too much or too little. He took his time and ensured the shape was correct and matched on both hands. He also applied the polish perfectly--making sure that each layer was even. I was so happy with my service! I stopped by as a walk-in on my way to the airport to pick up my fiancé last Friday afternoon. When I entered the nail spa I was impressed by the atmosphere and decided to give it a try. I didn't wait very long before I was brought to the back and directed to sit in one of the pedicure chairs. I simply wanted tips put on my toes with acrylic overlay and a lavender gel color. When I was finished and walked to the cash register when I was asked to pay $82.00 (in addition to my cash $10 tip I gave her before finding out the amount due)... I brought my mother who is suffering from FTD (a dimentia) to have a mani/pedi last week. Max was her nail tech and Paula was mine. Max didn't know it, but my mom was particularly stressed because, while we were at the salon, her belongings was being picked up and moved from independent living to assisted living. Max was so kind, patient, and gentle with my mother. When she didn't understand what he was saying or wanted to switch colors, he had endless patience. I absolutely love this place! I've been twice now. The first time I had Theary and the second time I had Michael. The are both very nice and do great work!! I highly recommend the herbal pedicure. It's so worth the money. The hot rocks were so nice. I'm on my feet for hours so the foot / leg massage is really nice. I took my fiancé and they were awesome with him as well. It is very clean! I really appreciate the staff at Xanadu. They do a wonderful job and offer great options. The herbal pedicure with rose petals is delightful. For a busy salon, they are very realistic on wait times. I had an appointment set by Hannah with Rose or whoever at 5:15 .... But I be darned.... I had to sit and wait for someone to come out from the back 20 minutes later so I can get my nails done.. if there's an appointment created why do I have to wait 20 minutes ?? Called this salon two months ago to schedule an appointment for three people and they could not take us on the day that I wanted to schedule so I scheduled another day. Was told that if I needed to cancel to call back. Well that is exactly what I did. I called and canceled the appointment the same day. A week later on the day that the appointment was schedule ( that I cancelled) I received an call stating that I had missed the appointment. I informed the lady that I had cancelled that appointment the same day that I made it. Today I called to get an appointment and they informed me that I had to pay a deposit. I asked them why and they said that it was their policy and has been in affect for over two months now. I could hardly even give this salon a two-star rating because they did nothing right. I had a 2:00 appointment, and wasn't even seen until 2:30. The technician seemed rushed, not surprising because she was one of only three technicians working. She did terrible work. I had a gel manicure and the polish was chipping terribly within 3 to 4 days. I had a regular pedicure too and the polish on one toe rubbed off; I returned the same day to get it repaired and the same technician, overworked and rushed, applied a different color pink to that one toe. I didn't notice it right away. And when I called about the chipping gel manicure, Hannah, the technician, and manager, who worked with me, informed me that I could come back in for another gel manicure, but it would cost me. I'm writing this review currently while getting my pedicure. I went to Nails Forte just down the road from here to get a pedicure and waited in the chair for 40 minutes or more while no one said anything to me. I've been here many times before and this is where all the girls in our family go for acrylics. today they were understaffed which is fine and i understand (i don't mind waiting) but it definitely would have been nice and courteous to at least let me know how long the wait would be. Finally the water was cold and no one was near being done with who they were working on so I got up and drove away. Do not go to this place. It takes weeks to get in. If there's ever an issue with the nail that's been done incorrectly they charge me. They charge a la cart and the price changes every time. I had to go to another tech because my tech was not available. He completely botched my nails. When I brought to his attention that they were thick, curved, very bumpy and extremely wide and uneven. He blamed it on my nail. When I I asked him to feel the nail for the uneven bumps he said he didn't feel anything. I called the manager and complained, asking them to fix the nails free of charge. I paid 80.00 for a botched fill-in and my nails looked like bumpy spoons. He did not even clean the acrylic off of my hands or around my cuticles so they were a mess. The manager argued about it for a while and then agreed to have them fixed. She told me I would have to go back to the same guy who messed them up. I told her I was not comfortable with him and I did not trust his work. She then told me I could come in and get them fixed free of charge. The girl who was fixing my nails commented on how bad they looked; it took her 45 minutes just to get the thick, bumpy acrylic filed down enough to make them look normal. I had an hombre French but he had put the botched acrylic on so thick that they could not redo the hombre or it would show through, so they had to put polish over it. After they were done doing the nails they informed me that I would have to pay $20 for the polish. When I complained and said I did not think that was fair because my nails were not done properly and they should' have told me this charge before they put the polish on. The tech even told me that they had to have polish put on to cover it. She went to the manager with it and I was told I had to pay. I will not be going back. I informed them that I would be putting an honest review of this service on Yelp and Google. She ignored me. read more

FRAUDDD!!! So I was told about Xanadu by a friend. She told me to go to Rose. I set an appointment and went excited, as I just moved into town. When she did my full set, I noticed that some of them were crooked. I was weary but I said maybe it's just me. So she didn't polish it, but told me to go sit in the chair for a pedicure. I sat, and under the new light I could see that they were crooked. She put on polish and it really stood out. I called my sister on FaceTime, and she immediately pointed out the crooked ones before I could even tell her what happened. She happened to be getting her nails done and showed her nail tech who said the same thing. I asked for her to fix them, and she instantly got an attitude. Started talking in her native language and didn't even attempt to give me a good pedicure. It then turned into a screaming match, and I started to cry: "I just want you to fix my nails". Then the other nail people in the salon started to gather around me as if they were going to fight me. I asked for anyone else in the shop to do my nails and everyone said they don't know how to do acrylic WHICH WAS A LIE, because I saw them do other ladies hands while I was doing mine. She told me to go elsewhere because it wasn't her fault my hands are crooked. I went to another salon, and before I could even tell them what happened, they said, "I can tell you just got your full set, but why are they all crooked. THE NEW SALON DID MY NAILS PERFECT WITHOUT THEM BRING CROOKED! At that point, I knew Xanadu was just trying to take my money and not give me good service. They don't even do designs on your nails!! BEWARE: These people are shady!! Suggest you read the yelp reviews first. They deliberately butchered my nails to where you can see the nail bed!! I came in for my first visit. I asked how much for a full set for natural link nails. The owner said it would be $30. I even told her I didn't want it to look stubby as I have a short nail bed. When the girl is doing my nails after 44 minutes, she calls the owner over and says, we must charge you now $35. Why?? Well, because your nails need to be no nail at all if you want it to be $30. I didn't think they literally meant that. OHhhh, but they did just that!! SICKENING!! Never in my life experience have I ever had this happen. A full set with regular polish has been $25-$30 at every salon. Interesting they have it all waiting on cue once they can't talk you into the $45 gel nails. This girl kept filing and filing and filing until it bled to the nail bed!!! Why would anyone who asks for tips over short nails want it chewed down to nothing??? I could of just painted my nails. My daughter and I went in to have a Mother's Day together. They separated us even after we asked them not to. My daughter ended up just sitting in the pedicure chair for 15 minutes waiting. My manicurist had nails she had clearly been biting and her polish was chipped and messy - not exactly inspiring confidence.
