I've been going to star nails to get my nails done for about 6 years. The owners Carolyn and victor are an amazing couple and work well together. When I first went to them Carolyn didn't really do designs on nails and over the years she has become great at doing nail designs. When I come in Carolyn is about finishing up with a current client and victor will come in and start on my nails by sanding it down and then reapplying a new layer of gel on top. Then Carolyn will come in and finish her magic touch. They are both kind and caring and also gentle. When they would go on their annual Vacation I made the mistake to go see someone different. The person I ended up seeing ended up hurting me by drilling or filing too much or too hard. Lesson learned. I will wait for my to nails tech stars to return. Horrible experience! They didn't do my nails how I asked then when I asked for the 2 sloppy looking nails to be fixed the husband told me they don't do designs for me and how they could care less if they loose a customer because they are living! They were arguing with me in front of customers like you're providing a service and if they paying customer doesn't like it how hard is it to fix really?! I had to go get my nails fixed at another salon they didn't even file them properly! I was a customer for years now I 2ill never go in that rachet place again! They are rude and unprofessional! I have pics of the rancid job they did and what I wanted looks like my 6 yr old could of did a better job! Go somewhere else! read more

I came across Star Nails after asking my friend who had painted her nail design as it was awesome! She gave me star nail location.i called and spoke to Victor whom scheduled my appt.Both Victor and Caroline ha e been great,I now go there regularly and I have not had any issues,my gel fill is always good and holds up for 3+ weeks and they are friendly.Always a wonderful experience when I go.If you are in a hurry you may want to go somewhere else but as far as my experience this small 3 person team is amazing!!! read more

I came with a friend on a Saturday with a 10:30am appointment. I had to wait 10 minutes, my friend, almost 30. A little annoying, considering we had something in the afternoon, and couldn't spend the whole morning at the salon. Aside from running late, I first noticed that a lot of the polishes seemed old. That should have been my first sign. After they finished the girl before me, I was able to sit. They did not clean the area between the girl and me - they use the same damp cloth to clean my nails and the space that they had on the last girl. Yuck! Truthfully, this was my first manicure. I needed fake nails, and I wanted to look nice for my engagement photos the next day. They talked me into gel nails. Great concept, but they applied it WAY to thick, and it began chipping and peeling of my regular nails three days later. Not quite sure if I got my $35 worth. On the plus side, the technicians were mostly friendly. They did spend some time talking to each other in their native language (excluding us from the conversation, as my friend and I only speak English...) I would not return. read more

I think this place is fabolous! They have great prices and do excellent designs! You may have to wait for 5 mins or so, but they are usually on time. Not to mention that if you go 5 times then on the 6th time you get 40% off! read more

HORRIBLE. She was supposed to fill in my gels and change color. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue as to what she did to my nails. She ended up making my nails so flimsy that they hurt (and still do). They look disgusting. I've never witnessed a 'manicurist' butcher a persons nails before. If you want to have your nails bend, hurt, and the polish look as if it was applied by a very young child- then go here. $20 is a complete rip off for what they did to my poor nails. They should have PAID ME $20 to get the heck out of there. She made the polish on my nails bubble! I was there for about an hour and 15 minutes. As I said before, she was supposed to fill in my gels and change the polish. Now I have to wait a month or two until I grow new nails :( read more

I have been going here for years. Over the years they have continued to go down hill. I will no longer go here, and this is why... There are only 2 nail technicians. If you make an appointment you end up waiting, walk-in you wait just as long as if you made an appointment which is forever. Once seated the one of the 2 workers will cut your nails file them down and jump over to a different seat and start on another woman, so you wait some more. That will continue between upwards of 5 women at a time. They do NOT clean up the stations anymore after a previous customer has finished leaving nail clippings and a nasty damp face cloth with debris all over it. Mindy (owner) never seems to buy new nail polish, so if you pick a color you like which isn't much to start with, and its running low or comes out on your nail in a blob, they will add some kind of clear solution to it right in front of you to make the nail polish last another few months. Their technology in this field as far as the nail designs, equipment, products, and ability is absolutely horrid! FINALLY the QUALITY of the nails... your nails end up crooked, lopsided, THICK, sharp and smooth corners, with mediocre designs. Meanwhile listening to all the other women complain about the same issues. The nails will chip or break in a few days because they no longer take their time, it's rush, rush, rush on to the next... not worth the aggravation, unsanitary conditions, time, money and tip anymore . You can tell them till you are blue in the face that something is wrong and they will insist "it cute, or so pretty" only to turn around and talk to one another in their native language and laugh. It is not pleasant knowing they are talking, and laughing about you. It is sad to have watched this place get worse over the years. DONE! ZERO STARS, but put 1 because I had to, to submit review and warn others. read more
