I went to this nail salon recently for a dip based on the great reviews. The person who did my nails was very rushed. My nails started chipping after 2 days. My nails also looked kind of lumpy and not shaped nicely. I've been getting Dip for 3+ years and it usually lasts at least 2 weeks, often 3 weeks. This is an expensive service to only last a few days. read more

After going to a place recommended to me in Midlothian a couple of times and not being happy at all, I read the Yelp reviews and thought I would try this place. Let me tell you- I LOVE IT! We didn't have to wait long and they treated me and my 2 young daughters age 7 and 3 like little princesses! Hands down to the worst manicure I've ever had. They painted my nails well into the cuticle with paint so old that it rain in stripes down the bottle. The paint messed up and she went over it with a 6 & 7 coat! It was so thick it never fully dried. I was there for 30 min extra for it to dry. The nail polish came off within 2 hrs! I was there with a friend and she had the same experience so I know it wasn't just me. Never ever again!! read more

The pedicure was excellent as far as quality goes. Lots of different choices. I decided to go on the fly after work one day. It did take a while to get a chair, but they were busy. It was late afternoon on a Thursday. I decided on the Aloe Vera pedicure, mainly due to the description of the massage part. I hate the stones, I think they're worthless and this one was w/o the stones. Suppose to be anyway. Turns out she used the stones and the massage was so ridiculous because she was too busy talking to her coworker she wasn't paying attention. I may be over sensitive to this because I was really tired from being on my feet all day and looking forward to that part. Other than that it was a good experience. Prices are on the higher end, but it was a really clean shop! Nail polish was a lot of the same colors, however, tons to pick from. I'll try this location one more time before deciding. read more

It's important to make an appointment here. They're incredibly busy and if you're a walk in but someone with an appointment arrives, appointments take priority. Their tools do come in a sterile bag so I believe they truly sterilize their tools in the autoclave! Owner is very kind. The girls are great. I discovered this salon after being referred there by another local salon. I was looking for someone who did the SNS dip powder because my local nail salon was closed. I got an appointment right away and haven't gone back to my old place. Andy is my favorite nail tech because he pays such attention to detail. They staff plenty of techs so there is rarely a wait. The place is clean and very well kept up. Andy and his brother take the time to get to know their clients and always try to refer to each person by name. I have driven from Coppell to Waxahachie (over an hour drive) just to have Andy do my nails. If that doesn't tell you something, nothing will. read more

I've tried star nails multiple times. So this isn't a one time great or bad review. This will be my last trip here however. After going on Dec 18th for a dip powder manicure, I had a nail break 3 days later. Went in for a very messy repair. Within 8 days of my manicure, had 2 more nails break. I called and was told to come in for them to be fixed. At this point all of them needed repaired bc they clearly weren't done properly since they kept breaking. While I appreciated a new free set of nails I felt like I was being doubted on when my nails were actually done. When I said they were done last week, I got questioned, "Last week?!?" I also was cut with a file so badly that I was in tears. Was hoping I had found my new nail spa. Must keep looking. read more

I was in town visiting from out of state and needed a mani/pedi to de-stress. This place had good reviews and when I called they told me to come right on in. The technician did a fabulous job on my pedicure. It cost me $25 extra for gel polish. The technician who did my manicure was not as talented. I was given my manicure while sitting in the pedicure chair, which means I was reaching over continually to have my nail polish removed/renewed. She made two of my fingers extremely sensitive after clipping the cuticle too close and almost one week later my fingers are still tender. The polish is not even and not to the edge of the nail on the sides. I would not return to this salon again. read more

Never have I ever been so disappointed with my nail service and my nail outcome!!!!!!! I got a full gel set on Saturday with white color. As of the Monday after they had chipped cracked and faded. Two days. I was in awe of how quickly this set deteriorated. As the week went on slowly but surely every single nail had a noticeable flaw. I contacted the salon to tell them of my disappointment. They informed I would have to come back to their salon to repair any defects. Unfortunately I live 2.5 hours north of Waxahachie and had absolutely no reason to ever come to this town matter of fact salon ever again. I requested a refund for the terrible job done on my nails but they rejected this and told me my only option would be to come let them fix the faulty job they had done. So $50 down the drain and I highly highly highly recommend to never come to this salon if you want well done nails that literally last more than TWO days. As of NOW.... one week later every single nail has chipped of broken off. Please do yourself a favor and go to another salon. read more

Excellent customer service, which I've not found to be common in nail salons as most of them focus on volume and getting you in and out. TJ and his crew put the customer first, and doesn't want anyone to leave less than satisfied. They take the time to do the job right. They make you feel comfortable and welcome.
