Stopped in for the lunch buffet. There were lots of options and they seemed to be re-filling hot stations in small batches. Most of what I tried seemed to be at temperature although there were a couple items that were not. Love that the buffet is served with fresh prepared naan delivered to the table. Also had a couple cups of delicious chai tea which was wonderful on such a cold day. I also enjoyed that it was not sweetened so I could add if I wanted to. The tandoori chicken, chicken curry and saag were my favorites from this lunch but I'm always excited to be able to try different items that I wouldn't immediately order otherwise. Service was great and the restaurant itself was not overcrowded for lunchtime.

Delicious food and great service! We ordered the bartha, chicken tikka masala and lamb biryani. Fantastic flavors! The area outside is old, but the restaurant inside is very clean, spacious and simple but nicely decorated. Highly recommended! We will be back.

Star of India recently changed hands after 20+ years of ownership. We've been going to SoI for that long and wondered what our experience would be like... Well, we were not disapppinted! With an elegant and casual atmosphere, our waiter Sameer was timely, friendly and accommadating. We ordered Indian craft beers. I wanted to try their mangorita... but was informed their mixer wasnt there and only 2 coctails were available. Strange for Friday night. The waiter suggested Mango-Rum Lassi... which was actually quite good! Creamy sweet, smooth and mango-tangy. Apps were the usual veggie pakoras... hot and crispy sprinkled with chat masala. The fried paneer was delicious. Our party did not care much for the meat samosas... but enjoyed everything else. Dinner entrees were equally delicious. Tandori checken - tasty and juicy. The lamb very flavorful. Saag paneer (spinach) and Bharta Makani (eggplant) delightful. We will definitely come back!

Great food and flavor. The owner really cares a lot about this place and talked to us for thirty minutes about his story. He does love to ramble so youve been warned. The food was delicious and we love coming here. The pricing is great, and again we love supporting an owner that cares a lot.

This place is delicious! Probably one of the top 5 best Indian restaurants I've been to in Colorado. I'm not giving it a 5 star only because the restaurant hours are restrictive and the appetizer was very salty--but besides that, everything was great. Nice staff. Speedy service. Decent pricing. Spacious seating with clean interior. Clean bathrooms. And plenty of parking outside the restaurant. I would definitely come back here on a date with my husband.

YHIS PLACE DOES NOT HAVE OUTDOOR SEATING, FYI You must try the vegetable samosas or any kind of Samosas, because they are the bomb Lentil soup is full of flavor and has a nice hint of lemon. Probably one of the best lentil soup I've ever had. Shrimp Tandoori is very unique. It's Prawns actually, and not shrimp. Its not the dry rub tandoori that you would expect. It's more of a tandoori sauce. Saag Aloo was not my favorite, but I understand it's very popular here. Garlic Naan is Garlic Naan ! Saffron rice is amazing ! Mango lassi was delicious. Service kicks ass !!! Very relaxing atmosphere. They actually play elevator music and not Indian music. Did I mention they have a full bar ??!! They do ! Çiao Hananananananananaaahhh

Always really great service and food is always wonderfully delicious. We love the vegetarian options. But everything is also top notch.

I went solo on a Friday evening and had a great experience from start to finish. The first thing I noticed was how many regulars were there. People knew the owners by name and vice versa, which always says a lot about a place. The vibe is classic and welcoming, and the service matched that. It's easy to see how they've been around since 1989. Everything is made to order, so there's a bit of a wait for entrees, but it gives you time to enjoy appetizers. I started with samosas, which were exactly what you want from them. Fresh, flavorful, and well done. For mains, I tried the chicken tikka, saag paneer, and India's thali, which gives you a little bit of everything. Everything was delicious and felt thoughtfully prepared. I ended up taking some of the thali to go along with a mango lassi, which made for great leftovers. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

I get to write about this wonderful Indian restaurant again. What a privilege!!…read more By using the coupon I got when I placed a delivery order for a few items only a week or so ago, my daughter and I got us... -Papadam -Daal Tadka -Steamed Chicken Momo (The code on the coupon discounted our total for 15%; dine-in rate is/was 10%) This was an online order for a pickup so we actually got to go to the store to pick it up. I have been inside it once before but I really didn't remember any of the interior. It's quite roomy with mostly red color. It's pretty clean as well. All the way to the south of the building is where the bar is located. Quite the ambiance for sure. The man behind the counter was very pleasant to me. He was still packing our food so he said it'd be a few minutes. No worries; I wasn't in a hurry or anything!! Once food was meticulously put in a large brown bag, he politely handed it to me with a very meaningful "Thank you!" What a nice gesture that was. The great smell of the food was emitting from the bag; the hearty smell filled the entire car where all we could think of was devouring the food. Once home, we immediately proceeded to the mother/daughter mealtime. -Steamed Chicken Momo: By far the best momo we have ever eaten. Amazing dish with no flaws. We almost fainted as we ate it (ha ha!!) I know this is a bit of an exaggeration but it was that good. -Daal Tadka (mild): I am a big fan of lentil based dishes and this (along with the other lentil based one named Daal Makhani on the menu) is a delightful non-meat option. Daal Makhani does have a noticeable amount of oil used in the dish but this yellow lentil dish is lighter in the oil content. This also mesmerized our palates where we became mute as we took each bite to savor it. Simply amazing. -Papadam: Indian version of tortilla chips is the best way to describe it. They are so light; these are guilty-free side dish to munch on with a sauces of your choice. -Rice Pudding: This was a shocking find. The chef's compliment or whatever it was, the restaurant kindly included this in our bag free of charge. What a nice gesture to appreciate us the customers!! Thank you,Chutney for this kind and lovely gift. 10 out of 10 takeout experience to say the least!

I was super excited to try this location because they had a later than average lunch hours (going til 4pm). Unfortunately, there were several food safety concerns. Many dishes were not properly chilled or warmed and appeared to be sitting out for long periods. Most items were only lukewarm unless they had just been freshly placed. I also noticed a small roach near the sauce area. I did not mention it to staff, as it was in plain sight and appeared to be a juvenile, so I assume they are already aware and possibly addressing the issue. Because of these issues, along with some dirty dishes and glasses, I would not recommend the lunch buffet or plan to return, despite enjoying the flavors and service.
