From Leetsdale, this restaurant looks dark and empty. But the entrance is on the west side of the building. Inside, it's cozy. The music is soft and gentle, not a high pitched whiny soundtrack typical of Indian restaurants. The food was delicious. The samosas had the thinnest pastry of any we've had - it was really great! I'm someone who works in healthcare, and has traveled throughout the pandemic. I've become accustomed (or spoiled) to easy ordering through DoorDash. While on a ten week project in the area in the summer of 2021, I ordered from two other great Indian restaurants. Today, one was no longer affiliated with DoorDash, and the other one wasn't accepting orders. So I had to try something new. Believe it or not, Denver is the only booming metropolis I've been to in 2022. So I've missed, MISSED Indian food. Normally I order a couple of dishes (one meat and one vegetarian) to see how the place leans. The meat can be really dry, but the veg dishes are perfect, for example. So from then on I will only order veg items from the establishment. The chicken tikka masala was one of the best I've had. No large chunks of onions and enough spice level at spicy. The saag paneer was equally delicious! I would order both again, and will be doing so during this ten week assignment. The cheese naan is also delicious! I can't forget that. read more

This is our go-to place for moderate priced mouthwatering Indian meals. The previous owners were very dear to me. I enjoyed their food and personalities and while I was sad to see them leaving the country to return to their home I was glad to see it go to someone who would care for the establishment and advance it. The improvements made to the seating and flooring makes a nice change of pace and really brightens it up inside. I typically go for a nice mild Navaratan Korma (vegetable based/can be made vegan) if I want to have a relaxing evening after your meal. The Pakora's are a great appetizer if you're exceedingly hungry- I usually get vegetable but the chicken is good if you're looking for something hearty. The Roti is a nice change from traditional Naan but my favorite is the Kabli Naan. It has a layer of fruit and nuts inside that is to die for when it's super fresh. I'm such a huge fan of their Tamarind sauce (reddish brown and sweet) I could probably pour it on everything. If you're looking for a desert that is sweet and creamy but light enough for the summer, the mango custard is delicious. read more

we ordered take out tonight and i am sad to report that it was very disappointing. this is my first time ever eating their food so i cannot say if this is how they roll or if they truly lack quality and miss the mark completely. to start, the grease layer on the chicken makhni was unapplealling. hiding under the oil there was a ton of cartilege mixed in and every bite had a piece of cartilege i had to fish out of my mouth. that is not an exaggeration. the vegetable appetizer/pakoras was overbreaded which resulted in undercooked breading on every piece and the paneer wasn't melted. even if had been lightly breaded, it wouldnt have been enjoyable because it also lacked flavor. while dipping the pakoras, we found a piece of plastic string in the chutney sauces (thank goodness it wasnt hair--which is what we thought it was at first! ) the cherry on top would have to be the bone splinter in his butter chicken that stabbed my husband in his gums, you can see the splinter and blood in the picture on the napkin. but! the momo's were good. please beware also if you order "mild", it has some spice/heat and unfortunately it was too much for our kiddo to handle. needless to say, since this meal was basically a family fued category of "bad things to happen to your food during take out", we wont be trying them again. read more

We have driven by so often but never tried Taste of India. Today, I ordered the chicken tikka masala with two orders of the regular naan and am so happy I finally tried it. Since it was my first time ordering, I didn't ask for the tikka masala to be spiced a bit more as I wasn't sure what to expect. Truth be told, even without being spicy, which is how I like it, it was absolutely spot on. The rice that came with my order was plentiful and fragrant. The amount of chicken in the masala was generous without overwhelming the dish. The naan was flavorful and flaky fresh. The service was fast - I ordered online and it was waiting for me when I got there. The young lady behind the bar that handed it to me was very nice and friendly. I've noticed that several places in Denver don't offer chicken tikka masala, or a buttery, creamy dish for their lunch buffet. Perhaps it is because they figure diners may order it a la carte, as it is a hugely popular dish? Anywho, I find that practice mean spirited. Taste of India does no such thing! Their dining room is clean and highly decorated, with beautiful patterned curtains, beaded embroideries, and nice table coverings. The matron the day we came was very kind, kept fresh naan bread on the table, and added to the positive ambiance of the space. Then, there's the food -- absolutely delicious! We heard a couple that had recently traveled to India offering their compliments to the matron, saying they loved the authenticity of flavors, etc. Having never been to India myself, I have to take their word on it. I was SOOOOO prepared to not like this place, based on the reviews. But, I'm a sucker for an Indian buffet, and I work in the same mall as this place. So, the decor is quite nice, no complaints there. I also had no issues with rude employees, and was greeted by a lovely young woman with a bright smile. The selections on the buffet were a little sparse, to be fair: Navratan Korma, Saag Paneer (VERY little paneer), Goat Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Tandoori chicken. I might be missing a few. At $11.99, I could stand for it to be a bit cheaper. That having been said, the food was pretty darn good. I experienced only well-cooked chicken, nothing dry, and while none of the dishes were very spicy at all, I've come to expect that at most Indian restaurants, catering to the American public. I was brought out a fresh basket of hot naan, cooked perfectly. I quite enjoyed the Navratan Korma and the tandoori chicken! The place was completely empty, outside of myself. I will probably go back for lunch when I'm working, but probably not often, due to the steep price. We've lived in the neighborhood for almost 20 years and enjoyed several meals at Taste of India as prepared by the original owners--but the new owners have taken it to a higher level. My wife and I have spent time in India and enjoyed the different foods throughout the country. In the north my staple dish was Saag Paneer, and the new owners of Taste of India prepared it as it was prepared in India. More frequently than not, Saag Paneer is prepared with too much cream in stateside Indian restaurants, but in India this dish has a darker green, full-of-spinach-and-spice flavor with minimal cream. The other dishes ordered by my family members were just as authentic and transported me back to the subcontinent. Even the momos--while available in northern India--their origins are connected to Nepal and Tibet--yet, Taste of India got these right, too! Wonderful! And if you don't mind eating and having Bollywood playing on the wall mounted TV, then the experience is complete. read more

We ordered food to be delivered under their Street Spice Vegan service from grub hub and it was absolutely the worst excuse for Indian food I have ever had. The Dahl was watery and terrible, the vegan saag with potatoes tasted like weeds. The salad was wilted with pitted out peppers and brown limes and mealy tomatoes. It was disgusting and we put it in the garbage. $100 later. What a pile of crap. read more
